Ed & Curt's “terrain” model: Bad inputs: ultra-processed food, toxins, poor sleep, chronic stress, lack of sun/movement Missing inputs: nutrient-dense foods, minerals, omega-3s, organ meats, sunlight, sleep, movement Example of amlodipine: lowers BP numbers but may increase arterial calcification (calcium channel blocker) For people unwilling to change lifestyle, drugs may offer marginal benefit—but not true health [0:41:05] – Curt's Book & Lab Markers That Matter More Than LDL-C Curt's book: “Beyond Cholesterol: The Ultimate Guide to Testing and Supplements for Heart Health” Emphasis on better markers: ApoB, LDL particle size/number, calcium score, etc. Book's Amazon performance briefly noted (new release bestseller in its category) [0:44:32] – Alternatives to Statins & PCSK9s: Bergamot & Lifestyle Curt's hierarchy: Lifestyle (diet, exercise, stress, sleep) Targeted supplements like bergamot (citrus extract): lowers harmful particles such as ApoB and supports “good” LDL function Only then consider pharmaceuticals, and very selectively Skepticism about recommending Lifendra at all; strong bias toward non-drug approaches [0:45:28] – Dr. Wolfson, Mold, and Cardiovascular Terrain Ed & Curt's respect for Dr. Jack Wolfson, “The Natural Heart Doctor” Mention of mold as a major, under-recognized driver of cardiovascular disease Reference to Dr. Wolfson's educational resources and upcoming podcast plans [0:48:04] – Key Takeaways on Lifendra & Heart Prevention Strategy Lifendra will not fix: seed oils, glyphosate exposure, mold, bad sleep, chronic stress Terrain-building priorities: Real food, omega-3s, sunlight Toxin reduction Mitochondrial support Foundational supplements Contrast: drugs = band-aids with side effects; nutraceuticals = “side benefits” when used correctly [0:52:28] – Wrap-Up Ed mentions Sprouts selling lab-grown meat and his strong opposition Update on Oura Ring: now tracking nighttime blood pressure and importance of BP dipping Listener story: young man post–heart surgery credits Nutrition World's education and support with changing his life Final thanks to Dr. Dearing and closing outro  The post Radio Show / Podcast – August 9, 2026 first appeared on Vital Health Radio.

In this School of Doza episode, Nurse Doza reframes "I'm so tired" as a code with five different signals—and shows how to read yours. He breaks down the five types of energy the body actually runs on: dopamine for drive, cortisol for the morning wake-up, blood sugar and mitochondria for cellular fuel, glutathione to clear cellular clutter, and NAD for turning food into energy. Instead of masking fatigue with more caffeine, he explains how to spot the one you're missing and fuel it. FEATURED PARTNER Boost by MSW Nutrition is the "multivitamin you can feel"—the raw-materials approach to energy Nurse Doza describes in this episode. One stick delivers a big hit of methylated B12, electrolytes and minerals, plus antioxidants like glutathione and vitamin C, and it uses a slow-release caffeine technology for steady, usable energy instead of a spike-and-crash (a Caffeine Free option is available too). That's why Boost is his go-to for filling the nutritional gaps behind low energy.

People spend over $36 billion a year on vitamins, and most people probably couldn't tell you what those nutrients are supposed to accomplish. The multivitamin is the most popular supplement on Earth, but it's also one of the most mocked and misunderstood, with one camp calling it a scam while another swears a special formulation changed their energy and their life. Start Being a Student of Your Health: Dr. Henry Ealy on Nutrition, Energy, and Healing Episode Description In this episode of Conversations with a Chiropractor, Dr. Stephanie Wautier sits down with Dr. Henry Ealy, also known as Dr. H, founder of the Energetic Health Institute. Dr. Ealy is a teacher, healer, curriculum developer, and natural health educator whose work centers on a powerful idea: people should not just be passive patients, they should become active students of their own health. This conversation moves through nutrition, energy, mitochondria, red light therapy, environmental stressors, EMFs, grounding, detoxification, and the importance of learning how the body is designed to heal. The conversation also touches on environmental health concerns, including air quality, chemtrails, infrared sauna use, sweating, and how Dr. Ealy thinks about reducing the body's toxic burden. Dr. Ealy shares why he believes the foundation of health education should begin with nutrition, and why understanding the body's energy production can change how people think about fatigue, symptoms, and long-term wellness. Stephanie and Dr. Ealy also talk about the confusion many people feel when trying to make healthier choices. From supplements and red light tools to grounding products and natural healing approaches, it can be difficult to know what is real, what is marketing, and what is worth trusting. This episode includes strong perspectives, challenging ideas, and a call for deeper curiosity. It is meant to inform, spark thought, and encourage personal responsibility, not replace individualized medical care. If you are making changes to your health, medications, supplements, detox practices, fasting, or treatment plan, work with a qualified healthcare professional who understands your personal situation. In This Episode, Discover Dr. Henry Ealy's early experiences with medicine and how they shaped his path Why he believes the word "doctor" should mean "teacher" The difference between being a passive patient and becoming a student of your health Why nutrition is central to Dr. Ealy's approach to healing and education How the Energetic Health Institute teaches holistic nutrition, detoxification, and natural medicine Why Dr. Ealy believes mitochondrial energy production is a key part of understanding health The role fatigue may play as a common thread in many health challenges How nutrition, chiropractic, bodywork, acupuncture, and exercise may work better when the body is properly supported Why consumers need help sorting through health products, supplement claims, and wellness marketing What Dr. Ealy looks for when evaluating companies and products he trusts How red light therapy, grounding, sleep, and daily routines fit into his larger health philosophy The conversation around EMFs, environmental toxins, air quality, chemtrails, and toxic burden Why Stephanie and Dr. Ealy emphasize doing your homework before trying intense cleanses, detoxes, or supplements The purpose of the Healing Made Easy membership Why small steps, repeated over time, may help people feel more confident and capable in their own health journey Stay Connected & Explore Learn More About Dr. Henry Ealy and the Energetic Health Institute: Energetic Health Institute: https://www.energetichealthinstitute.org/ Meet Dr. H: https://www.energetichealthinstitute.org/meet-dr-h/ Healing Made Easy: https://www.energetichealthinstitute.org/healing-made-easy/ Companies We Trust: https://www.energetichealthinstitute.org/companies-we-trust/ Books by Dr. Ealy / Dr. Henele: https://drhenele.com/ Connect with Conversations with a Chiropractor: Follow Us on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/@ConversationswithaChiro Follow Dr. Stephanie on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wautierwellness Email for show-related inquiries and sponsorships: drstephaniewautier@yahoo.com Want to be a guest on Conversations with a Chiropractor? This week's Mini Mikkipedia takes a closer look at multivitamins, nutrient status, and whether a daily broad-spectrum supplement may support cognitive ageing. Mikki discusses the COSMOS trial, a large randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study that examined multivitamin use in older adults, with a particular focus on the cognitive findings from its ancillary studies. While the parent trial did not show significant benefits for cancer or cardiovascular disease, the cognitive studies found consistent benefits for episodic memory, with effects estimated to be equivalent to slowing cognitive ageing by around two to three years. Mikki also unpacks the limitations, including modest effect sizes, population generalisability, supplement formulation, and why supplements should support, not replace, the fundamentals of nutrition, exercise and sleep. Highlights: Why calorie deficits can increase the risk of micronutrient insufficiency  What the COSMOS trial tells us about multivitamins and brain ageing  The difference between observational research and randomised controlled trials  Why episodic memory may be particularly responsive to nutrient status  Why supplement quality, nutrient forms, and baseline deficiency risk matter  Contact Mikki:https://mikkiwilliden.com/https://www.facebook.com/mikkiwillidennutritionhttps://www.instagram.com/mikkiwilliden/https://linktr.ee/mikkiwillidenNZ listeners - save 10% off Calocurb by using the code Mikkipedia10 at www.calocurb.co.nzSave 20% on all Nuzest Products WORLDWIDE with the code MIKKI at www.nuzest.co.nz, www.nuzest.com.au or www.nuzest.comCurranz supplement: MIKKI saves you 25% at www.curranz.co.nz or www.curranz.co.uk off your first order

Dr. Howard Sesso of Harvard explains the results of the COSMOS trial, identifying who actually benefits from a daily multivitamin and how it impacts biological aging. Is a daily multivitamin a life-extending "insurance policy" or just a waste of money? In this clip, Dr. Howard Sesso, Co-Principal Investigator of the landmark COSMOS trial, breaks down the clinical evidence from over 21,000 participants. We explore the "sweet spot" of nutritional insufficiency; where you aren't clinically deficient but lack the levels needed for optimal healthspan.Dr. Sesso and Dr. Sidong Li discuss how multivitamins specifically slowed the "epigenetic clock" in individuals with existing risk factors like hypertension and accelerated biological aging. We also cover the importance of "precision nutrition" and why the synergy of essential vitamins and minerals may be more effective than high-dose single supplements. If you're looking for a common-sense, evidence-based approach to basic supplementation, this deep dive into the Harvard-led COSMOS data provides the answers you need.

If you have a neurodivergent kid who will only eat five foods, you already know that picky eater does not begin to cover it. The sensory processing, the oral motor challenges, the gut issues, the trust that gets lost every time a safe food changes slightly. And somewhere underneath all of that is a parent who is genuinely worried about whether their child is getting what they need to grow, think, and feel good. That is exactly what Brittyn Coleman, the Autism Dietitian, has spent the last decade working on. And in this episode she shares something she has been working toward for ten years: Best Part Kids, the first sensory-friendly multivitamin built specifically for neurodivergent children and selective eaters. We cover what is actually in it and why, how to evaluate any supplement your kid is currently taking, why sneaking vitamins into food is often doing more harm than good, and what to do instead. What you will hear in this episode: Why selective eating causes nutrient deficiencies and which nutrients are most at risk What to look for in any multivitamin for a neurodivergent child Why most supplements on the market are not designed for kids with sensory sensitivities Why sneaking supplements into food can backfire and how to introduce them the right way What makes Best Part Kids different and why it took ten years to build Why iron is intentionally left out of the multivitamin and how to address iron separately The importance of bioavailability and chelated minerals for selective eaters How to find Best Part Kids and get 10% off your first order ABOUT THE GUEST Brittyn Coleman, MS, RDN/LD is a registered dietitian specializing in children on the autism spectrum and neurodivergent kids. If your joints ache after exercise, if your hips or knees are not what they used to be, or if you are just noticing your body recovering more slowly than it did a few years ago, this episode is going to be genuinely useful. Leanne and Susie break down the evidence on what food can and cannot do for chronic pain and joint health, call out the supplements that are not worth your money, and explain what the Mediterranean diet actually looks like in real life, which is not what most people think it is. Plus there is new research on meal repetition and weight loss that might just change how you think about meal prep, a verdict on the new Arnott's Shapes Light and Crispy range that had everyone's Instagram lighting up, and a straight-talking answer to one of the most common questions in clinic: do you actually need a multivitamin? In this episode: Why joint pain increases as estrogen declines, and why women in their 40s and 50s are disproportionately affected by inflammation, tendinitis, frozen shoulder, and chronic pain The only three nutrients with a genuine evidence base for joint health, and why turmeric is not one of them What the Mediterranean diet actually looks like when you strip away the Instagram version, and why most people eating reasonably well are still not doing it properly Why just 10% body weight loss can meaningfully reduce the experience of joint pain, and why that number is more achievable than most people think The collagen question answered properly: how much you need, which form works, why vitamin C must be paired with it, and how long you actually need to take it before expecting results New research from a US university showing that eating the same meals most days led to nearly 6% body weight loss over 12 weeks, compared to 4% in those who varied their diet significantly. What this actually means in practice, and the important caveat both Leanne and Susie flag The new Arnott's Shapes Light and Crispy range: is the white box marketing genius or genuine nutrition improvement? They discuss how immunosuppressive drugs can be lifesaving but carry infection risks, and how “risk mitigation” and anti-inflammatory dietary patterns can support resilience. Cohen highlights vitamin D's importance in autoimmunity and COVID outcomes and lists four foundational supplements: a clean multivitamin (including iodine), vitamin D3 guided by blood levels, a quality probiotic, and omega-3 fish oil with adequate EPA+DHA; they also cover cautious use of curcumin, limited enthusiasm for glucosamine/chondroitin, and a measured view of collagen. Cohen promotes her hybrid Smart Human Health Summit on women's health (Saturday, April 25), featuring clinicians speaking on menopause/HRT, dementia, cardiology, endocrinology, GLP-1s, and toxins, with in-person, virtual, and recorded access.

Millions of people take a multivitamin every single day believing it's protecting their health. It's marketed as the ultimate safety net, one capsule that covers all your nutritional bases. But almost nobody is asking the most important question: What's actually inside the finished product? Multivitamins are concentrated compounds that directly affect your physiology. And if those capsules are contaminated, mislabeled, degraded, or poorly sourced, you could be exposing yourself to harmful substances every single day. Heavy metals like lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury can accumulate in the body over time, especially with daily supplementation. Yet in the supplement industry, there is no universal requirement for brands to show independent third-party testing of their finished products. So instead of trusting marketing claims, labels, or influencer recommendations, Dr. Christian Gonzalez went directly to the source. He contacted 45 multivitamin companies with one simple request: Provide third-party batch testing and a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) showing what's actually in the final product. The results were alarming. Most companies either refused to provide documentation or never responded at all. In this episode, Dr. G breaks down: • Why finished-product testing matters more than raw ingredient testing • The hidden risks of heavy metals and contaminants in supplements • Why many multivitamins fail basic transparency standards • The difference between label claims and verified potency • How heavy metals can accumulate in the body with daily exposure • The four brands (out of 45) that passed strict transparency and testing criteria This episode isn't about attacking companies; it's about accountability and transparency. If you take a multivitamin every day, understanding how supplements are tested (or not tested) could have a major impact on your long-term health. New research suggests daily multivitamins could slow biological ageing. A clinical trial in the US found slower changes in the DNA based epigenetic clocks of older adults who take multivitamins. It suggests that simple nutritional interventions could potentially influence the body's ageing process. Professor at Massey University's Centre for Public Health Research and Nutrition, Lisa Te Morenga told Mike Hosking it's not a magic pill. She says the effects so far are quite tiny, and there's no evidence yet that multivitamins actually help you live longer, it's just changing things they believe are associated with living longer. New episodes of Prophecy Radio air every other week. All discussions are PG-13.No news this weekPercy Jackson and the Olympians season 2, episode 5 discussion (00:12:30) Right away we know Percy and Annabeth are alive. That's a relief. And how convenient they find themselves in the only sanctuary in the Sea of Monsters! Hylla sighting! Is this our first Heroes of Olympus easter egg? C.C. wants to help them identify their fatal flaws so they can survive the sirens. How noble. Stavros, our little jet skiing anachronism, does not fair too well. We may not have seen Stavros' demise, but hearing it was pretty gnarly. Clarisse wakes up on the beach. Lucky lady can see the golden fleece, though, so... quest still on! But then she gets caught in Polyphemus' trap. Quest paused. I really hope they find ways to weave the consensus song into every season. It makes Kristen smile. She tells Grover that Percy and Annabeth are dead, but thanks to that empathy link, Grover is sure she's wrong. All he had was hope, but now he has Clarisse and some rope! Back to C.C.'s: Percy and Annabeth look ADORABLE. They don't agree. C.C. wants to help them find their fatal flaws with her very own Mirror of Swalflataf (if you know, you know)/li> Annabeth takes the opportunity to try and learn something about C.C. We have a super swoon moment when Percy goes full book boyfriend. Even if we are trying to temper our little shipper hearts because they are not supposed to be at the crush stage yet. Percy believes he is a danger to the quest, so he decides to stay at C.C's. Back to the island: Clarisse is trying to shimmy up a rope to escape the cave, but the sensitive, sassy Cuban Oak can only take so much. Polyphemus returns, but this time Grover forgets to lower his veil... not good. Back on C.C.'s island: Percy has a very enlightening chat with Zadie. Percy confronts C.C. to transformative results. Is that a pen cup full of souvenirs, or did C.C. just think Percy's pen would be happy there? Percy doesn't let a little thing like being a guinea pig keep him from trying to formulate a plan. Describing Ares as merciful is a dead giveaway. Whatever you say, fakeGrover. This Polyphemus is waaaaaay scarier than the book. We appreciate the consistency with representing all cyclopses the same. Annabeth has a plan. But she also knows how to freestyle like the best of them. Multivitamins to the rescue! Percy and Annabeth set sail, but only one gets the wax. The other gets roped. Aaaand just kidding. C.C. takes back her wax. Annabeth's vision is detailed, but she has a plan. ATHENA SIGHTING! It's a double cross! It was the sirens the whole time! Percy saves the day. Next time: Tyson sighting, Kronos in season 1 form, and its time to battle Polyphemus. Percy Jackson and the Olympians Official Podcast highlights (01:34:34) A bit of a surprise: This week's guest is Glynn Turman, aka, Chiron! The Andrew counter lives. Glynn is Chiron: Both run camps, both help campers learn new skills, both have lost campers. Chiron's horse half is the same horse that plays Blackjack and has shown up in the background, too. There is a Grover horn arc already plotted for five seasons. This detail has us absolutely fangirling. They're going to curl by season 5! Next guests: Zoe Neary (Producer) and Jules O'Loughlin (Director of Photography) The sirens were played by stuntwomen using windsurfing rigs. **chef's kiss** Realism at work: They gave costume department samples of the rock to match, they used real seaweed from the marina, and there was a crab wrangler on set! One guinea pig is given the high ground. And different foods give them different eyelines. So much to learn about guinea pig acting. Rosemarie Dewitt killed it as C.C. Dior and Charlie shadowed producers to learn more about that part of the filmmaking process. Getting away from the Volume stage this year. Practical sets help them to lean into the weather and natural enviroments around them. The sound department is not a fan of fidget spinners. Oops. Listener Feedback (01:54:38)We have an email! What if the root of your child's health struggles isn't another cream, pill, or quick fix, but something much deeper? In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Nina Marie Rueda, a naturopath who works with children and families through a functional, integrative lens. Her own journey started during her first pregnancy, when she realized how little she'd supported her body and baby with nutrition. This pregnancy completely changed her perspective, and she went from wanting to become a university professor to birth work, nutrition training, and eventually naturopathy. We get into why minerals matter so much for kids, especially when it comes to challenges like picky eating, eczema, and sleep struggles. Dr. Nina explains how testing works, why hair analysis often gives a clearer picture than blood work for children, and what common mineral patterns she sees in practice. The conversation is raw, practical, and full of insights for parents trying to make sense of their kids' health struggles without getting lost in overwhelm. You'll Learn:How a Bradley Method class shifted Dr. Nina's path to naturopathyWhat minerals actually do in kids' bodies and why they're essentialThe link between taste buds, zinc, and picky eatingWhy hair mineral tests show the long game while blood work is a snapshotCommon mineral patterns seen in children with eczemaHow heavy metals disrupt gut microbes and fuel skin issuesThe mineral imbalances behind sleep struggles in kidsWhy parents' own mineral status affects mealtime stressThe reason some kids' multivitamins should avoid iron and copperHow minerals shape digestion, detox, and resilience in childrenTimestamps:[00:00] Introduction[05:47] Why minerals are the non-negotiable foundation for children's health[07:40] Hair testing versus blood work for understanding mineral balance in kids[13:05] Why picky eating in kids often comes down to mineral imbalances and taste buds[22:46] Eczema in kids and the role of mineral imbalances and heavy metals[39:43] How mineral imbalances and heavy metals disrupt children's sleep patterns[45:22] Choosing the right multivitamins for kids and why avoiding copper and iron matters[49:10] Making supplements part of daily family routinesResources Mentioned:Minerals & Gut Health Connection for Eczema Course | WebsiteGut and Minerals Free Resource | WebsitePicky Eaters Protocol | WebsiteFind more from Dr. Nina:Nerdy Notes with Nina Marie | SubstackDr. Nina Marie | WebsiteDr. Nina Marie | InstagramFind more from Amanda:Hormone Healing RD | InstagramHormone Healing RD | WebsiteHormone Healing RD | FacebookHormone Healing RD | YouTubeHormone Healing RD | TikTok

Nearly half of children's multivitamins tested contained PFAS “forever chemicals,” with 4 out of 9 products showing measurable contamination 44% of children's multivitamins also contained phthalates, which are hormone-disrupting chemicals linked to developmental and reproductive harm No glyphosate or other detectable pesticides were found in any of the multivitamins, even at the lowest standardized detection levels Independent scientists reviewing the results stressed that PFAS and phthalates pose serious risks to children's health, including impacts on immunity, fertility, growth, behavior, and cancer risk Experts call on supplement companies to improve manufacturing, purification, and monitoring practices to eliminate toxic contaminants from children's vitamins
