Happy Mother's Day to all of the incredible mothers out there. Today's episode is a deeper conversation about the urgent need for stronger, more biblical men and women in our culture, people willing to stand for truth, protect the vulnerable, and refuse to stay silent in the face of evil.We discuss the ongoing outrage surrounding the Epstein files, the lack of accountability for powerful people, and the broader cultural failure to protect victims from wicked and predatory individuals. But this conversation goes beyond headlines. It's about morality, courage, justice, faith, and what happens when societies stop valuing strong families, strong character, and biblical principles. This episode is ultimately about hope too, because evil does not win forever. Real justice matters, truth matters, and good people still have a responsibility to speak up.

Recently gaining wider recognition as “Tiwari Aama” after her songs garnered engagement on YouTube, she is also known for spontaneously composing and performing her own lyrics. Her songs reflecting the lives of Nepali migrants have also resonated with audiences beyond Nepal. A controversial courtroom decision is raising serious questions about the future of justice in America. Following the killing of NYPD officer Jonathan Diller, a jury chose not to convict on first-degree murder—despite eyewitness testimony and video evidence. Now, critics are warning of a growing trend: jury nullification. Some argue activist movements are influencing jurors, while others say it's a long-standing legal principle meant to protect against unjust laws. So what's really happening inside America's courtrooms—and what does it mean for law enforcement, public safety, and the justice system itself?

While the podcast team is taking a Radical Sabbatical, Kim is interviewing authors of the books that have had a big impact on her in the past two years. Wealth concentration in the United States is top of mind these days. While it's tempting to see this as a recent trend, it is instructive to look at what was happening in American politics decades ago and see how many of these forces were set in motion in the 1970's.  Kim talks with Prof. David Gibbs about his book, Revolt of the Rich, How the Politics of the 1970s Widened America's Class Divide. Prof. Gibbs reviews decisions that were made during the Nixon and Carter administrations that continue to reverberate in our world today.  For example, during the first oil shock in the early 1970s, President Nixon actively worked to keep oil prices high to support the Shah of Iran and to prop up the dollar.  The result was financialization and deindustrialization. Later in the decade, President Carter was central to the trend of deregulation.  The net effect of these decisions was an erosion of the foundations of the American middle class.  Technical note: we had an issue with one of the microphones on this interview that affected the sound quality.  Sorry if this affects your enjoyment of this episode. Background on David Gibbs: David N. Gibbs is professor of history at the University of Arizona, whose past research has emphasized political conflicts in Sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe, and Afghanistan. He has published extensively in academic journals as well as the London Guardian, Los Angeles Times, Christian Science Monitor, Le Monde Diplomatique, Salon, and Jacobin. 5. Headline: Living Newspapers and Suppressed Voices Guest Author: James Shapiro The "Living Newspaper" format used fact-based drama to address social issues like the national housing crisis. Productions such as *One-Third of a Nation* were popular with the public but drew ire from mocked senators who saw their own words used against them on stage. While the project pushed boundaries, it also faced internal censorship; for instance, the play *Liberty Deferred*, a sardonic history of American racism and lynching, was suppressed by white supervisors. Despite its innovative approach to telling the story of the 1619 project precursors, it was never performed. (5)

6. Guest Author: James Shapiro James Shapiro discusses "Living Newspapers," such as *One-Third of a Nation*, which used fact-based accounts to tackle social issues like the housing crisis. These productions angered powerful real estate interests and senators whose own words were often mocked on stage. Shapiro also highlights *Liberty Deferred*, a sardonic play about the history of American racism and lynching. Despite its brilliance and factual basis, white supervisors "slow-walked" the script for years. Consequently, the play was never staged before the Federal Theater was shuttered by the government in 1939. (6)1921
