Volles Haus, viele Filme: Wir reden über das Phänomen NE ZHA 2. Und so viel mehr. A WORKING MAN zum Beispiel. Oder THE WOMAN IN THE YARD, die 2000er-Zeitschleuder Y2K, das Arschloch-Porträt I LIKE MOVIES, die Power-Romanze BEATING HEARTS oder den Thriller-Dauerbrenner DIE PURPURNEN FLÜSSE. Und das waren nur die Kinostarts. Zuvor gehts noch mal um MICKEY 17, THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO, ARMAND und die Doku GEORGE A: ROMERO'S RESIDENT EVIL. Dazu gehören unter anderem THE KEEPING ROOM, FLIGHT, FREUNDE MIT GEWISSEN VORZÜGEN und THE HANDMAID'S TALE - DIE GESCHICHTE EINER DIENERIN. Sowie DARKLAND: THE RETURN, FURYO – MERRY CHRISTMAS, MR.

I am big into my books and love reading… and at this moment in time I am just in love with the Horror Genre, especially the works of Graham Masterton. The latest one I am reading is a book containing several short horror stories. This inspired me! So I went to my friend Google to see what I could find and I tell you what Ladies, Gents and People I found a few that I am going to share with you today that are truly terrifying! The worse part is that they all claim to be true. For any suggestions or ideas pleas e-mail me at this address - ffbpod@gmail.com*For the best sound quality please use headphones*
Gesprächsstoff gibt es also reichlich! In this episode, Olivia and Emily dive into their first horror movie review, focusing on Robert Eggers' Nosferatu. The sisters share their personal experiences with horror films, discuss their expectations for the movie, and how their perspectives of horror were turned upside down. They discuss the transformative process actors undergo, the emotional journey of grieving a character, and the performances of key actors like Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok, Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen, and Nicholas Holt as Thomas. The conversation also touches on the film's aesthetic elements, including costume design, lighting, and the overall atmosphere that contributes to the suspense and horror of the narrative. They reflect on their personal experiences with the film, highlighting moments of terror and the film's poetic ending, drawing parallels to a famous Shakespearean play. Nosferatu was directed and written by Robert Eggers, starring Lily-Rose Depp, Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Holt, and Williem Dafoe and was theatrically released on December 25, 2024. Happy Halloween. Hex Hex. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
It's eve of Halloween (or "All Hallows' Eve-Eve"), and so it seemed appropriate to do an episode all about QUEER HORROR! When writer and film analyst BJ Colangelo was first on the pod back in March of 2022, we scratched the surface of the indelible link between queerness and the horror genre. Now, in honor of spooky season, BJ is back with her wife Harmony for an exhaustive deep dive! The Wives Colangelo (TM) discuss how, when it comes to horror, "the absolute building blocks and foundational texts of the genre are either made by queer people, or they are queer stories." It's an episode full of revelations (Chucky has a non-binary kid?! Hellraiser is based on gay S&M clubs?!) and controversial hot takes! Whether you're a horror aficionado or, like Lauren, you only ever watch the smooching scene compilations on YouTube, it's a thoroughly delightful and absolutely fascinating episode about how our community SLAYS the horror genre (#halloweenpuns). Do you like scary movies? This week, our “In The Lobby” materializes from the mist with “Christians on Horror”. Novelist Mike Duran emerges from his coffin as the hairy, howling Pastor Joe Thorn claws his way into the conversation, moderated by our host and horror expert James Harleman. Over the coming weeks we'll delve into the controversy surrounding an oft-misunderstood genre: what are the attractions, the objections, the redemptive aspects, and our hosts' favorite horror films for those who want to see and understand scary movies mindfully. My guest this week is arguably the most influential person in horror at this moment in time!! Mike Flanagan is the man behind Hill House, Fall of Usher, Oculus (where I had the pleasure of working with him), Doctor Sleep and much more. If you're at all interested in the movie and television industry or the horror genre, this is not one to miss. And of course, I answer your lovely questions in the hindsight section.
The first official episode of Year 8 begins with one of my longtime friends. You may have heard her many years ago on a Game of Thrones episode, but now, I have Katherine joining me for her first stand alone episode! Katherine and I have known each other since 9th grade, so you're not only getting the podcast episode, but you're getting some throwback stories as well! We kick things off with a conversation about roleplaying games. We're covering Tabletop Games like Dungeons and Dragons (including Eberron!) to live action roleplaying games, like Vampire: The Masquerade and fantasy LARP's like NERO. Katherine talks about her experiences, how she got introduced to both kinds of gaming and what keeps her coming back for more. From there, we talk about her love of Vampires and how she got hooked into the Horror genre. From classic VHS tapes at a young age, to going all out for Halloween, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal, and so much more. You'll find out what kind of genre that Katherine is into and some of her favorites. We talk about her love of True Crime as well, including her stay at the Lizzie Borden house. Then we wrap up with Professional Wrestling. Katherine talks about some of her favorite wrestlers, PPV experiences, and much more. It was truly special to have Katherine on and getting to share her love of fandoms and some of our stories from "back in our day" You can listen to Katherine on the Game of Thrones Season 7 Review here: https://talesfromthefandom.libsyn.com/game-of-thrones-season-7-review
