Emeli Sandé is one of Britain's most successful songwriters - with 19 million singles sold; including three number one singles, six million albums and four BRIT awards. Emeli joins Emma to discuss her music and career. How are disabled children being affected by the war in Ukraine? There are claims that thousands have been forgotten and abandoned in institutions unable to look after them. The human rights organisation, Disability Rights International, has carried out an investigation. Their Ukraine Office Director, Halyna Kurylo joins Emma. ‘Alice's Book' by Karina Urbach tells the story of Karina's grandmother Alice Urbach. Before the Second World War Alice wrote a cookbook called Cooking the Viennese Way! - but when books by Jewish authors couldn't be distributed, Alice was taken off it. Karina talks about her family history, intellectual theft by the Nazis and her mission to restore Alice Urbach's name to her cookbook. Abi Morgan is a BAFTA and Emmy-award winning playwright and screenwriter whose credits include The Iron Lady, Suffragette and The Hour. She has now written her first book - This Is Not A Pity Memoir - about an extraordinarily tumultuous period in her and her family's life. Last weekend the Baftas saw Sophie Willan, the actress and creator of Alma's Not Normal, take home an award for best female performance in comedy. The sitcom is based on Sophie's own experience of growing up in care, and focuses on her relationship with the women in her family. Sophie dedicated her win to her grandmother, Denise Willan, who sadly passed away half-way through filming the show. Watching Eurovision tonight? Two hundred million people are expected to watch it, live from Turin. Representing the UK this year is Sam Ryder. He's doing well at the moment and is second favourite to win behind Ukraine. The UK really hasn't done very well over recent years, but twenty-five years ago we won it with Katrina and The Waves and Love Shine a Light. Katrina joins Anita.

Over the weekend in Afghanistan the Taliban ordered that all women must wear a burqa in public. It's the latest blow to women's rights in the country since the Taliban took power in August last year. Yalda Hakim is an International Correspondent for the BBC and spoke to us about this development. What is it like to run a fashion magazine? We ask Kenya Hunt, who became the first black Editor-in-Chief at Elle UK when she took over the role in March. With print readership in decline, and the fashion industry reeling from the pandemic, how does she plan to keep women reading magazines? Depp v Heard. It's the court case that has gripped not just America but the whole world. The actor Johnny Depp is suing his ex-wife Amber Heard for defamation over an article in which she said she was a victim of abuse. The BBC's Holly Honderich joins Emma to discuss this very public trial. Anna Kent is a humanitarian aid worker, NHS nurse and midwife. She was 26 when she joined Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors without Borders) for her first assignment in South Sudan in 2007. She has subsequently worked as a midwife across the world including Ethiopia, Haiti, Bangladesh and the UK. Ein abschließendes Urteil zur dritten Staffel "#CoupleChallenge" ist noch gar nicht möglich, da wir erst zwei Folgen sehen konnten, doch die, finden wir, bieten nicht nur was für Auge, sondern auch was für den Magen. Also, falls das das Organ ist, das die celvinistischen Balzversuche sowie das bäuerliche Großgekotze verdaut. Wir erfüllen uns dazu endlich den Traum, über "Kitchen Impossible" zu quatschen, was natürlich wesentlich leichter fällt mit der Aussicht auf eine gepflegte Runde "What's Wrong?" sowie – endlich! – "Die Passion". Braucht Deutschland "Queer Eye"? Ja! Braucht Deutschland ein deutsches "Queer Eye"? Vielleicht! Mit der Haltung startet man in die deutsche Version der US-Kultshow und will in seiner prophylaktischen Enttäuschung bestätigt werden. Darauf wartet man aber vergeblich, denn das Casting, der wichtigste Teil des Originals, klappt erstaunlich gut. Das heißt aber nicht, dass alles rund läuft. Woche zwei in der Eiseskälte Lapplands führt für die Paare in der "CoupleChallenge" zu mehr Flirts, ersten Entzweiungen und noch mehr Entbehrungen. Während Emeli Tommy auf die Nerven geht, finde ich langsam meinen Frieden mit Didi, der seinen zerstreuten Auftritt bei "Claudias House of Love" langsam hinter sich lässt. Seine Beziehung zu Arielle: bisher die positive Überraschung der Staffel. Außerdem: Warum hat Emeli eine Obsession mit einer Kochshow entwickelt? Wieso könnte "Die Passion" die Pandemie beenden? Zieht euch eure Match-Hosen an, denn heute reden Emeli (@EmeliGlaser) und ich (@dennisderdoedel) über Are You The One! Neben tiefsinnigen Gesprächen über Matching Nights und Boom Boom Rooms geht es um die Netflix-Dokuserie Surviving Death, die uns dazu veranlasst, unsere persönlichen Geistergeschichten zum Besten zu geben und live (!) ein Glückskeks zu öffnen. Dazu müssen wir ein TV-Format basierend auf einer kolumbianischen Ortschaft pitchen. Es ist schon erstaunlich, dass uns Datingshows nicht mittlerweile zum Hals raushängen. Die TV-Now-Produktion ist nach Claudias House of Love und dem Bachelor bereits die dritte, die in diesem Jahr an den Start geht. Aber was sollen wir sagen? Zwar stellt sich auch in diesem Format hier und da die Frage nach dem bösen (und buchstäblich unaussprechlichen) A-Wort. Dennoch finden sich in den ersten sechs Folgen genügend Szenen, über die man sich freut. Mal weil sie dumm sind und mal weil sie sehr dumm sind. Verglichen mit Are You The One nimmt sich die Netflix-Dokuserie Surviving Death sehr ernst, schließlich drehen sich die etwa 60-minütigen Episoden um jeweils ein Thema, das mit dem Leben nach dem Tod zusammenhängt und selbst Expert:innen rätselhaft erscheint. Wir konnten uns darauf einigen, dass die Optik zwar nicht den Trash-Faktor vergleichbarer Produktionen hergibt, man sich über einzelne Szenen und Charaktere aber doch amüsieren kann. She gave her a place to stay and was there for her in her time of need.As years went by the woman was able to get her life on track and she is confident Emeli played a crucial role in her recovery. She had lost both of her parents in her youth and sought comfort in the use of drugs. Der er derfor masser af gæster i dagens program i form af arrangementets gæster, som læste med på dagens bog "Det Store Stilehæfte" af Agota Kristof fra 1986, og var med til at gøre læsningen endnu mere spændende, dybdegående og nuanceret. John Wilson returns with another edition of Mastertapes the programme in which he talks to leading performers and songwriters about the album that made them or changed them. Recorded in front of a live audience at the BBC's iconic Maida Vale Studios. Each edition includes two episodes, with John initially quizzing the artist about the album in question, and then, in the B-side, the audience puts the questions. Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé takes us back to her debut album "Our Version of Events", the UK’s biggest selling record of 2012 which spent more consecutive weeks in the British charts than any other debut album, breaking a record held for 50 years by The Beatles. Featuring the singles Next To Me, Heaven, Clown and Read all About It, the album made her a household name and she was the only artist to perform at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the London Olympics. Our Version of Events went on to win the BRIT Award for Album of the Year and Emeli was named Best British Female Artist. Emeli Sandé responds to questions from the audience and performs acoustic live versions of some of the tracks from the album.
