Are you familiar with the concept of time blocking? Will it make you more productive and efficient with your time? Or are you set in your ways and happy with your current routine? Wendy Woloschuk knows that blocking her time makes her more efficient. In this episode, she shares her tips and tricks for optimal time-blocking success. After all, time is money—how much are you wasting? Wendy Woloshchuk is the owner of Details Interiors. In addition to running a busy design firm, Wendy is a frequent speaker on Market panels and tele-summits and is now teaching other designers through online courses. She is one-third of the Design for Today Collaborative, a group committed to educating Interior Designers and Home Stagers. It forces you to manage your time efficiently and helps you focus on what you’re doing. If you are multi-tasking, you are focusing on a million different things and not doing any of them at 100%, right? The premise of time blocking is that when you give one task 100% of your attention, you’re more effective.  At Wendy’s firm, they break down each specific day into a time-block. She starts every day with a cup of coffee, time on Facebook and Instagram, exercising, showering, and getting to the office. On Mondays, her assistant blocks time for social media, their blog, and the newsletter. She has another block for emails. They block in lunch and move on to client work. They check email and social media one more time at the end of the day. How do you know where to start? Wendy shares these simple steps: Start with a list of your regular weekly tasks Plug in the most important tasks first Fill other tasks in around those What’s the key to optimal success? Listen to find out! How Wendy handles sourcing for clients If you’re taking 3 hours to find something that should take you half an hour, then you’re losing money. So Wendy gives herself a set amount of time—half an hour—to find a certain product. Why? If you can’t find it in half an hour, your brain needs to move on and you come back to it.  Sourcing takes time and practice. It requires knowing your vendors. Giving yourself half an hour helps you get it done more quickly. Once you’ve found something that will work perfectly, don’t keep looking. You can always go back and adjust if necessary.  She always works on one client at a time. While she’s sourcing for one person—if she sees something that’s a good fit for someone else—she makes a note and moves on.  Self-discipline becomes habit When you have a schedule set and you’ve ben time blocking for a couple of weeks, Wendy notes that it will become a habit. It’s saved her many hours a day. When you get lost in a rabbit-hole, it’s hard to get refocused. But time blocking gives you something to reference to help you get back on track. She notes that it does get easier—and is 100% worth the effort. Hear the rest of her time blocking tips by listening to the whole episode! For our 25th episode (recorded May 26th, 2020), we are thrilled to have as our guest Wendy Whelan: former principal dancer and current associate artistic director of the New York City Ballet, widely considered one of the world’s leading dancers of her generation. During her 30 years at the New York City Ballet—23 of them as a principal dancer—Wendy danced virtually all the major roles in the company’s repertoire and also developed a reputation for being a choreographer’s muse, creating many original roles with the foremost dancemakers of our time. A documentary, entitled Restless Creature: Wendy Whelan, was released across the country in 2017, and is now available on iTunes and Amazon. The film recently won the Chita Rivera Award for Best Dance Documentary. Join us for this conversation to hear Margaret and Wendy talk about: The formative years Wendy spent in treatment for severe scoliosis and how that experience transformed her attitude toward challenges What it was like joining NYCB shortly after Balanchine’s death How Wendy’s mother, a college basketball coach, instilled in her an interest in and appreciation for sports psychology and how psychotherapy helped her in her career at NYCB Two unexpected qualities Wendy believes dancers can tap into in order to become better artists Words of wisdom from Wendy (can we make that a thing if it isn’t already??) on working in the studio with choreographers on new creations and how bringing authenticity and a spirit of play to the process helped build her reputation as being a muse for choreographers like Christopher Wheeldon and Alexei Ratmansky The connection between the mind and the body being in conversation when it comes to growth, change, and injury Exploring the parallels between two times of heavy transition for NYCB: when Wendy first joined the company after Balanchine’s death, and last year when she assumed the position of NYCB’s associate artistic director We couldn’t have made it to 25 episodes with you all—so thanks for listening and supporting the show, and here’s to many more episodes to come! - - - For more information, as well as any links, see the blog post for this episode: https://www.margaretmullin.com/episodes/episode-25-wendy-whelan Follow Beyond The Barre: https://www.instagram.com/beyondthebarrepodcast/ Wendy Whelan: https://www.instagram.com/wendyw/ https://www.wendywhelan.org/about/ https://www.nycballet.com/ Restless Creature: Wendy Whelan (documentary film): https://www.restlesscreaturefilm.com/ Host: Margaret Mullin http://www.margaretmullin.com/ https://www.instagram.com/margaretmullin/ Producer: Sarena Fishman Jimenez http://www.sarenafishman.com/ http://instagram.com/sarenafishman Music: William Lin-Yee https://soundcloud.com/williamlinyee

So many mothers seem to have it all – the high-paying professional job, the great family, a nice house – but on the inside, they're struggling. Just a few years ago, that was the story of Wendy Mays. While Wendy was a high-income earner at the time, the six-figure student debt and even bigger mortgage Wendy and her husband had accumulated were keeping her from living and raising her family the way she wanted to. While Wendy loved her career as an attorney, her priorities changed when Wendy and her husband adopted four little boys, some with special needs. As the primary breadwinner for the family, Wendy couldn't just decide to stay home at that time. She was facing extreme burnout, depression, and the overwhelming feeling of being stuck in a lifestyle she no longer wanted. Through an internet search at home one night, Wendy came across the MAD FIentist. She was shocked to learn about everyday people who were saving significant portions of their income - and ultimately retiring early. This epiphany resulted in a dramatic shift in Wendy and her husband's finances, family, and Wendy's career. Listen in on this inspiring story to learn: What is the FIRE movement How Wendy and her husband have managed to eliminate $650,000 in debt in just a few years How Wendy's children reacted when they changed to a more frugal lifestyle How it's never too late to improve your financial situation   About the Guest: Wendy is a mompreneur...former criminal defense attorney - turned - turned Podcaster and Blogger.  She hosts a top-ranking podcast and YouTube Channel that aim to inspire and encourage families of all shapes and demographics to Dump Debt, Build Wealth and Budget Better while living a joy-filled life.  In three years, she and her husband have eliminated $650,000.00 from their lives, have begun real estate investing and plan to reach Financial Independence by the time they reach 55.  She and her husband reside in San Diego with their 6 children and 2 German Shepherds. You can learn more about Wendy on the House of FI website, YouTube channel, and podcast.   About the Host: Janice Scholl has spent her entire career talking about money and business. Through her time as a commercial banker, consultant and mentor to budding entrepreneurs, she helped clients create solid business and financial strategies to help propel their business to success. While working with aspiring female entrepreneurs, Janice noticed that the same four themes kept repeating: Many women are uncomfortable with finance, both in their business and in their personal life. Women want access to more women mentors and advisors. Women often start businesses because they feel the corporate world doesn't fit their lifestyle. Few are motivated by purely financial reasons. Mothers didn't want money to drive their family decisions. From these themes The Money, Career & Motherhood Podcast was born. Now Janice spends her time helping mothers gain confidence and understanding about money, career, and business topics as they relate to motherhood and family – the way many women actually think about money. Janice loves helping mothers implement business and financial strategies within their families to help each family member thrive. Pika Bunny and the Thunderstorm (2017), Pika Bunny Has a Big Question (2018), and Pika Bunny Says EEP! Her books have been recommended by therapists, counselors, activists, and teachers alike.   In this episode, Jana and Wendy discuss:   Wendy’s own story of hope and the unassuming question from a student that reawakened her dream of writing.    How Wendy giving herself permission to be rejected opened the door to sharing her stories that have impacted so many. The importance of opening up conversations about feelings for a generation of kids who often don’t have the tools to communicate feelings. How kindness isn’t just for kids, and what transformative powers kindness could have on the world.   Key Takeaways: If you're on the right path doors are going to open and magic is going to happen! The impact sharing your gifts may set off ripples that reach farther than you know. Being mindful of our emotions and boundaries and knowing how to communicate them is powerful.   Kindness is relevant, especially in these times we live in.    "I just want to help one, one child, one child who may be super anxious about a thunderstorm. Maybe not make the anxiety 100% go away. But what if it helps 50% of the way? If it just helps one child, either forget some hardships that they're going through and just enjoy the book or just help with the thunderstorm, that is worth everything, worth all the hard work." —  Wendy Gihula   Pika Bunny Kindness Tracker Google Play Apple   Connect with Wendy Gihula:   Website: www.wendygilhula.com Facebook: https://facebook.com/wendygilhulaauthor  Instagram: https://instagram.com/pikabunnysays  Twitter: https://twitter.com/PikaBunnySays  Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiVlPDi6bls4QjItaIvXnMA  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/wendygilhula-tutor/  Books- Wendy Gihula Amazon Page  Email: info@wendygilhula.com   Remove Toxic Beliefs. On this episode of Anti-Aging Hacks, I talk with a heavy metals Detox expert. We discuss the following topics: 1. How we are getting so many chemicals and heavy metals in our bodies 2. The tests you can take to determine your chemical and heavy metal toxicity in your body 3. How to do a Heavy Metal Detox and how to love a Detox lifestyle My guest, Wendy Myers, FDN-P, NC, CHHC is an expert in detoxification and minerals. She is passionate about educating the public on the importance of long term detoxing considering our toxic world. She healed her own health issues through hair mineral analysis and developed a unique detox and supplement program. Wendy wants to help others do the same. Wendy’s interest in nutrition began with the death of her father from esophageal cancer. Intuitively, she knew his chemo, radiation, and ten medications killed him prematurely. She vowed to find out what made him sick, why he died, what role medications played in his demise, and how she could avoid the same fate. Wendy's Background: - Got into health as a result of her own health struggles - Was doing everything right, but nothing seemed to work - At 37, she had the hormone levels of a menopausal woman, thyroids were not working up to par - She did a hair mineral analysis and started detoxing. It made a huge improvement in her life How are we getting Heavy Metals into our Bodies? - The reason is because of all the appliances we use all day long, they all have chemicals in them - Big industrials release chemicals into the environment, and they make our way into our bodies - World health org says we have 500-700 chemicals in our bodies - They are impairing most organ systems in our body including liver function, digestion, etc. - Wendy believes you have to add Detoxification to your diet How to track Chemicals and Heavy Metals in our Bodies? - Great Plains lab has a GPL test, tests for 18 chemicals - Detoxproject.org tests for 40 chemicals - Bioenergetics with NEShealth tests for 50 chemicals - For heavy metals, hair mineral analysis, urine and stool testing How Wendy started and changed how she helps clients - Wendy started with Minerals (Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium and Trace Minerals can go a long way) - Wendy also uses Bioenergetics - Bone broth and glutamine are very slow to help gut health - NES health has shown dramatic results in just a few months - Improves positive charge in body and promotes negative charging of the body - Many times people are too ill to detox, so she needs to do a pretox before they can detox - IV chelation should be done very slowly Why our Bodies Cannot Detox Anymore - There are just too many chemicals, too many pollutants, high sugar diets, seed oils, blue light, bad sleep - Liver is congested, and 90 million people in the US have fatty liver (not due to alcohol). Has the same incidence as diabetes. - Liver is not able to do the job and the toxins have built up over the years - The body stores these chemicals in the brain, fat tissue, and myelin sheaths, in the bones and tissues What are good screening tools - A hair mineral is a good screening tool, people should start with that - Wendy recommends heavymetalsquiz.com which will give you information as well - Hair Mineral analysis is $99, urine tests are more expensive ($450) and require a consult, and stool test is $400 with consult - Hair test is usually enough to design a program for most people What is the Detox Protocol look like - Wendy starts people with Minerals - then adds Wata water which is very hydrating and negatively charged - Also recommends supplements called MitochondriaRX at mitochondrialwellness.com. Wendy highly recommends these. These build energy levels, and receptors. - Wendy also recommends NesHealth BioEnergetics program for 6 months - Emotional trauma also holds back people from health goals, NesHealth can address those - This gets people ready for the actual detox which follows next - NesHealth bioenergetics scanner scans 500 data points - You can find nutrient deficiencies, food sensitivities, environmental toxins, emotional trauma, immune system, chakras, circadian rhythm in your body - Has a supplement called AgelessAF that can pull some toxic metals out of your body Advanced Detox Phase - Highest quality Zeolyte, EDTA supporities, Glutathione or NAC, fat soluble lipoic acid (much better than alpha lipoic acid) - Different metals have different substances that will pull them out - Mercury or Lead can take a long time to get it out of your system (2 years for a healthy person) - Wendy recommends adopting a detox lifestyle everyday - Binders are substances that can absorb toxins out of your gut or bloodstream - When you mobilize lead or mercury, then must have a binder to catch it and take it out of the body  - Activated charcoal is a binder that can absorb quite a few heavy metals, but it can also absorb minerals. Don't use this too much. - Best to take it after alcohol or a night at the cheesecake factory IV Chelation Considerations - Can cause kidney damage from doing the wrong chelation - Need to be careful because this can be too strong How Does the Body Detox naturally - Sweating is great - Grapefruit and citrus toxins are great - Colon by eating a lot of fiber to clean the colon - Coffee enemas, and liver flushing - Give your liver a rest - Wendy has a formula for liver support herbs - Colon hydrotherapy is a good way to clean out the colon - Coffee enema uses caffeine to clean out the liver, and irritates the liver so it can dump toxins - Once a week is a good place to begin coffee enemas. This is one of the best ways to help your body detox - Wendy talks about how to do a coffee enema   How to live a detox lifestyle - Start small, and remove the toxins from your life - Pick 1-2 items to address - Lots of categories, beauty products or cleaning products addressed on Myersdetox - Wendy has her house cleaned with Vinegar and Borax agent and natural products Wendy's Information: - Myers Detox podcast (300 podcasts on detoxification) - heavymetalsquiz.com

On today’s episode, I get the chance to speak with Wendy Fisher, a former member of the U.S. Ski Team who walked away from skiing, only to get back into big mountain skiing later on. She now works at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, guiding people through the steeps. She also runs an annual camp out of Chile. Tune in to hear us talk about her career, he life in Crested Butte, and how she learned to overcome fear. Topics: [02:19] Every summer, she brings her kids out to her hometown of Tahoe to take advantage of “lake life”. [03:45] People bag on racing now, because they think it restricts people from having fun and enjoying the sport. [04:10] Wendy doesn’t agree and thinks it increased her love of the sport. [04:28] She was heartbroken to leave the team, but knew it was time to go. [06:15] Before she quit skiing and gave up a college skiing scholarship, she decided to go ski one last winter just for fun. [07:08] She ended up in Crested Butte during an extreme skiing contest. [07:20] She was encouraged to enter the contest and it brought her back to life. [08:04] When watching the men compete, she felt she had better technique than all of them. [08:45] On her second run, she took a different path over a rocky headwall. [10:38] She woke up one day and decided to continue to follow the competition circuit.  [11:45] She free-skied as a kid and her racing coach made the sport fun for her, which is different from how it is today. [12:10] She enjoyed the structure of Burke Academy. [12:35] Her amazing technical training contributed to her success as a free-skier. [18:47] When skiing steeps, people often forget their form and end up on their heels. [19:11] Wendy will take people out on less challenging terrain to improve their skills before taking them back to the steeps. [25:21] What helped Wendy learn how to teach was taking up skateboarding. [27:18] She even looped her son into her skateboard lessons. [28:48] Often, there is a taboo about taking lessons. [29:05] Wendy feels that if you want to get better, you have to invest in lessons. [32:05] Because they live in a mountain town, Wendy was determined to get her kids into skiing. [34:45] Wendy tried to back off and let her kids learn from instructors, but eventually, she couldn’t help but intervene and improve their fundamentals. [39:41] How Wendy discovered spontaneity and how it has affected the rest of her life. [41:20] Skiing with big mountain skiers and heliskiing, she was terrified, but there was gratification in completing big runs. [41:41] This is how she can relate to her clients and often talks herself through terrifying runs. Quotes: “I had so many issues with letting go of skiing and I wasn’t ready to...so to find this avenue, I just ran with it and don’t regret it at all.” “If you really want to get better and you don’t want to be frustrated, you have to invest the time.” “You start to doubt yourself, so you have to find these things to keep yourself in the game and to help build up your confidence and I still do that today…” Resources: Wendy’s Website Wagner Custom Skis

If you’re interested in learning about what it takes to land a licensing deal—this is the episode for you! It can be a difficult process where it often seems impossible to get a licensing deal in place. However, there are some tricks of the trade that can increase your chances of getting the deal done.  On this episode of Wingnut Social, Darla and Natalie chat with Wendy Fennell of Bohemian Bungalow Design. Landing a licensing deal requires tenacity, drive, and a unique vision for a product. They’ll talk about how involved the process is, the power of networking, and how you’re never too old to be relevant! What You’ll Hear On This Episode of Wingnut Social [2:15] Event coming up [3:05] licensing deals with Wendy Fennel [5:20] How Wendy made the switch to interior design [11:30] Her beginnings at High Point Market [13:00] Reaching out to Mitchell Black [17:10] The process from brain to paper [18:20] How to market differently [20:30] Where to start with a licensing deal [24:45] What surprised Wendy about the licensing journey [28:30] Where to find Bohemian Bungalow Wall coverings Connect with Wendy Fennell On LinkedIn On Instagram Bohemian Bungalow Design Resources & People Mentioned High Point Market Nancy Ganzekaufer Mitchell Black Bohemian Bungalow Collection Resa Edge Broward Conference Currey & Company Steel + Plank BOOK: You are a Badass You’re never too old to make a career change! Wendy spent years in the apparel industry. She started her career at Calvin Klein in the leather division and stayed there for almost 9 years. She also spent time working for a private label manufacturer that produced custom cashmere men’s socks. Everything changed when she decided to adopt a child from Russia—she couldn’t continue traveling as much as she had been.  So for a short time, she became a stay-at-home Mom. While she loved raising her son, she was itching to get back into a career (and ready to have conversations with adults again). She enjoyed design and had often assisted friends and family with their homes. After a conversation with her sister, she decided to give interior design a shot, and actually start charging for it.  For 3-4 years it was a part-time gig. When her son started preschool, she started seriously researching what to charge and how to create a legitimate business. Keep listening as the ladies chat about High Point Market and the networking opportunities available.  How pagoda wallpaper and tenacity paved the way for her licensing deal Wendy absolutely loves wallpaper and using it in her design. Her journey towards her licensing deal began because she had a vision of a pagoda wallpaper—but it didn’t exist yet. The week after attending High Point Market, she reached out to Mitchell Black. After multiple attempts at connecting, she finally spoke with her and was able to pitch her idea for a small collection. Wendy originally thought she was going to pay the fee for the work they did and list the product on her site. In the end, Mitchell Black loved the collection so much that she requested to sell it on her website. Wendy was ecstatic and agreed to the deal immediately. But it wasn’t easy—it took about 4 months of back and forth to nail everything down. She had to transpose all of the ideas floating around in her brain unto paper. She worked with the graphic design team to create a pagoda from a conglomeration of about 25 different options. She never realized how many different shades of black and blue exist! Dr. Dan welcomes Wendy Gossett, M. Ed. (an author, Temperament Specialist and Founder of Temperament Coaching) to today’s show to discuss temperament and parenting. Wendy is a child temperament specialist who helps parents learn how to “see” their kids, not through their own biased lens, but through the lens of their child’s natural temperament.   Wendy starts off the show discussing her own parenting journey and how her own daughter inspired her life’s work. Wendy Gossett’s Child Temperament test will help parents everywhere to understand their child or children (and her adult test will help parents understand themselves).  Her work with parents shows parents how to uncover their "true type” so they can be self-aware and differentiate their strengths from their kids. Many times parents have unrealistic expectations that come from their own temperament biases.   Today’s show tackles many topics including:  How Wendy started using temperament psychology with families (Hint: she was a corporate trainer using Myers Briggs, Keirsey and Carl Jung.) What is temperament exactly? Is temperament determined by nature or nurture? How early can a parent  tell a child’s temperament?  Wendy’s viral video and why you should watch it today! And more including Wendy’s Parent Footprint Moment.  Wendy Gossett, MA, is a Parenting and Relationship Specialist based in Denver, Colorado. She has worked with countless parents helping them to understand their children better by using temperament psychology. EEG maps in Neuroscience validate temperament as a tool for comprehending the eight psychological functions of the brain, which help people see and understand each other from the inside out. She has also worked with many Fortune 500 companies as a trainer and facilitator. In addition to her expertise in the field of temperament psychology, Wendy has a master’s degree with over twenty years of experience in all areas of training including parenting her own daughter who is her complete opposite. She is a contributing writer for Denver Parent and Mile High Mamas and for the past decade, she has been compiling all her acquired knowledge and experience with families into a comprehensive parenting textbook YOUR CHILD’S INNER DRIVE to help parents have a “User Manual” for their children, which will be published soon.  Watch this free video to learn more about Dr. Dan and Parent Footprint Awareness Training®.

Episode 99: How to End a Client Relationship

Sometimes a client you thought was going to be a perfect fit for your business turns out to not be. If you've ever found yourself in the position of wanting to fire a client, this week's episode of the This Week In Weddings podcast is for you. This week, we're chatting with wedding planner and designer Wendy Kay, who has successfully ended more than one client relationship and is sharing her experience and tips for having done so.  About our guest: Wendy Kay is the owner of Birds of a Feather Events, a boutique wedding planning and design firm that focuses on outdoor and destination weddings and offering their clients a concierge-level experience. Wendy has a background in television production where she produced and directed live television and called the shots - literally! After 8 years of 60 hour work weeks and feeling a disconnect between the subject matter and her clients, the burnout was real.com and she decided she needed a change or she was going to drown. Around that same time she was planning her own wedding, her best friend's wedding, and another friend's sister's wedding, and she was thriving! She had found something that combined the love she still had for her current job, but a whole new creative outlet. She was in her element. When she came home from her honeymoon, she got to work. She paid someone on Etsy a whopping $300 to design her logo, website, and her business cards. She was a real wedding planner, the card said so! She soon realized that planning someone else's wedding is much scarier than planning your own. She knew what she knew, and it was not a lot! She is so thankful for those girls who took a chance on her in the beginning and hired her, but really, what were they thinking? She battled through those first months, still working her 60-hour-a-week production manager job in TV mind you, got some education through the AACWP (which was pretty base-level, and she said needed it), and 8 years later she is still here, so much wiser.    In this episode, listeners will hear about: Wendy's background and how she went from producing television to producing weddings How Wendy knew it was time to cut a client loose and how she did it in the early days vs. now What Wendy has learned about pre-qualifying clients and making sure a client is a good fit The steps Wendy has taken to be prepared legally for letting a client go Want to connect with Wendy? #AdvanceYourself month continues where we’re diving into the weeds talking about taking practical, boots-on-the-ground action steps to move your creative career forwards, or more specifically to this episode, how to transition from climbing one ladder to climbing a different one, even if that means taking one step back to take several forwards in the future. I’m incredibly excited for this episode because it’s with Wendy Calhoun who happens to not only be an incredibly decorated and accomplished writer and producer in Hollywood (here are her IMDB credits), but she’s also the very first person to hire me as a professional editor in Los Angeles. Wendy has worked on such gigantic network TV shows as Empire, Nashville, Justified, and Revenge, to name a few. She is also no stranger to adversity given she has climbed her way to the top in an incredibly competitive area of Hollywood - writing, executive producing, and now show running with upcoming projects such as No Place Safe for FX and Our Kind of People for Fox. And while great strides have been made in the past several years, let’s not beat around the bush. Making it as an accomplished writer/producer as either a female or an African-American is tough, but doing it as both is infinitely tougher. But regardless of the obstacles that stood in her way, Wendy forged ahead, changed her career path several times, overcame numerous obstacles (including a massive case of imposter syndrome), and defied the odds. In this episode we deconstruct Wendy’s unusual path to climb the ladder to the top to understand the basic fundamental steps that you can take to achieve the same levels of success, regardless of your circumstances. "There's always a way. Nothing's impossible! I don't give up easily. I know I can do it, and it's the coaches that keep me on track.” (Wendy Capewell, Relationship Coach ) Wendy Capewell is this week's guest on The Happy Healthy Entrepreneur Podcast, and she is a Relationship Coach, specifically working with couples who know that they love each other, they’ve just lost some of their spark, and are really invested in getting it back again and ultimately having a happy, healthy relationship with one another. Wendy is also a regular contributor to magazines and is the author of a book called 'From Surviving to Thriving in a Romantic Relationship' Now, like many business owners who set up on their own, Wendy did have another career before re-training as a Relationship Specialist. She worked in finance and admin, and was also a Housing Officer for 5 years in a Local Authority, so, this has been a complete change for her, not only in starting her own business but also in a very different type of business. So when I asked Wendy to reflect on the three words that best describe her entrepreneurial journey so far she said: Exciting. Frustrating. Freedom. What you’ll learn by listening to this episode: How Wendy really makes the flexibility of working for herself, work for her. How she spent 5 weeks visiting friends in Australia and New Zealand, because she could!; How when you start up in business, you have to wear every single 'hat' in the early days, and the sheer frustration of getting everything done, and the shock of qualifying as a therapist, but not having the business or marketing skills to attract clients; How she wishes she brought on VA support systems in place, earlier on in her self-employment journey; How people in the self-employment community are so helpful, supportive and full of advice if you just ask; Self-care comes first. Being able to recognise when to ask the question "What do I need to take care of myself, today?"; The power of online community, and friendships that have developed from the social media world, and helped with overcoming self-employment isolation.
