My guest today is Dan Buettner, a National Geographic Explorer, New York Times bestselling author, Emmy-winning Netflix host, and a record-breaking endurance cyclist. In fact, he holds three Guinness World Records for distance cycling, having pedalled across the globe to over 70 countries. Travel is not just a passion of his - it's the lens through which he's viewed, explored, and helped reimagine how we live our lives. It was during these epic adventures that Dan's curiosity about longevity began to take shape. And that curiosity eventually led to one of the most fascinating and impactful projects of our time: The Blue Zones. Working alongside National Geographic and a team of medical researchers and demographers, Dan set out to discover the secrets of the world's longest-lived people. What he found were five extraordinary regions, in Japan, Costa Rica, Italy, Greece and a religious community in California - now famously known as the Blue Zones - where people weren't just living longer, they were thriving into their 90s and 100s. What's so remarkable is that these individuals weren't pursuing health - they were simply living in environments that naturally supported well-being. Think: plant-based diets, daily movement, strong social ties, and a deep sense of purpose. His findings became international bestsellers and his Netflix documentary Live to 100 introduced Blue Zones to a worldwide audience. and He's back this summer with a new cookbook, Blue Zones Kitchen: One Pot Meals, to help us all cook like the world's healthiest people. His travel diaries today take us from the jungles of the Congo, and the plains of the Sahara, to the lakes of Guatemala, and the islands of Japan. There was so much to cover, and I was so fascinated by all of Dan's insights, that we actually lost track of time, and so we're going to have to do a part 2 one day to find out his worst travel experience and hear a little bit more about his Mexican hidden gem. But nevertheless, I can't wait to dive into his story with you, let's buckle up and get started. Destination Recap:Boundary Water Canoe Area between US and CanadaAlaska, USACycling from Alaska to ArgentinaCycling from Minneapolis, Minnesota to St Paul, Minnesota, around the world Cycling Tunisia to South AfricaSahara Desert, Africa Siberia, RussiaThe Congo, AfricaOkinawa, Japan Oaxaca, Mexico Lake Atitlán, GuatemalaChetumal, Mexico Angkor Wat, Cambodia Dan's new book Blue Zones Kitchen One Pot Meals is out on September 2nd in the US, and September 8th in the UK. Can Streamageddon save the American Theater? Probably not (despite our best efforts!), but maybe George Clooney can: His one-night-only live broadcast of Broadway's Good Night, and Good Luck marked another milestone in streaming's push into LIVE entertainment (and not just sports, we swear!). Guest host Ian Brodsky lends his theater experience as we review the special live stream that aired on CNN and Max (formerly and soon to be known as HBO Max). Plus: Streaming has finally overtaken TV, but YouTube has finally overtaken everything! The hottest gossip from the WaBroDisco Breakup, a look at Netflix's growing live empire, and a special musical performance featuring a song from Ian's new album Friendly Neighborhood Something or Other (out now wherever you get your music!). ———

Carl and Abe open up the show with their reactions to Kirk Cousins comments made on the Netflix series 'Quarterback' in which he stated he felt misled by the Falcons after signing with the team and then watching them draft Michael Penix Jr. As they discuss, Abe shares that after watching the entire series, his frustration is with Raheem Morris for not making the call to bench Kirk Cousins once he realized the veteran quarterback was injured. Carl also notes he believes Cousins' statement in which he said had he known the Falcons would make the move of drafting Penix Jr. he may have altered his decision, alluding to possibly considering staying with the Vikings, to which Carl believes was not an actual option for Cousins.
Carl and Abe get back into Falcons talk and continue their conversation in regards to Kirk Cousins being one of the featured QB's on Netflix's 'Quarterback' series and gives more insight on the injury he dealt with which eventually led to his benching. As they discuss why Carl believes Cousins should be held accountable for failing to come forward with his injury.
In the first hour of today's show, the guys discuss Kirk Cousins in the Quarterback doc from Netflix, and if there's more blame to go around.

We're back for our third Judy Blume text with Forever! The 1975 book was written to candidly discuss a sexual relationship between teens and even if some aspects don't quite hold up, Brenna and Joe find its frankness refreshing. On the flip side, the Netflix series from 2025 falls somewhere between IP cash grab and spiritual adaptation. Creator Mara Brock Akil interprets the text through a celebratory Black lens, though we could do with less blocking and breaking up between Keisha and Justin.Plus: musicality, stereotypical secondary characters, the most excessive house porn we've seen, and Brenna's pandemic speculation about the series' 2nd season.Reference: Candace Frederick. When you think of adjectives starting with 'f' that describe comedians you might think of "funny," "fast," and "fierce" -- but you may not think of "fluffy" -- not unless you are fans of Gabriel Iglesias who has ridden family-friendly and playful comedy to the top of the business. Always rotund, Gabriel was nicknamed "fluffy" by his mom -- we hope she gets a cut because it has become his trademark. From an early spot on the Nickelodeon kids show All That to a turn at Last Comic Standing Gabe kept climbing the career ladder. Along the way he also starred in a popular sitcom and has developed a fine resume of voice acting work. But Gabriel has never wandered far from the stand-up stage, hosting a Comedy Central Stand Up series and starring in numerous specials of his own. And to put the cherry on top, in 2022 Gabriel became the first comic to sell out a show at Dodger Stadium -- not bad for a kid called "fluffy"! As always find extended cuts below and thanks for sharing our shows! Want more Fluffy? Fluffy has turned out to be a great, if unusual, nickname for Gabe and her he tells Jimmy Fallon the origin story. https://www.tiktok.com/@fallont.../video/7476524565150223662 When Gabe was on Last Comic Standing he was disqualified for using a cellphone to talk with family. Always a standup he turned that setback into instant material for his next special. https://youtu.be/A0BsqoMndz8?si=R5HM2qAt2zSwh3h7 From 2019-21 Gabe starred in a fun sitcom -- Mr. Iglesias -- which starred him as a high school history teacher. Here's the first episode. https://youtu.be/qGIPoodveZM?si=j2Y0jE03pYK7ffaV Gabe continues to be a top standup draw and his latest Netflix special -- 2025's Legend of Fluffy -- shows him in top form. https://youtu.be/ybzJy_jdJgA?si=iBS9ZUo6Zdtcb7Lf

This week on 2 Bears 1 Cave, Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer reunite in sunny California for a jam-packed episode full of FOMO, fatherhood, and flaming hot air balloon disasters. The bears talk about Tom's California vacation and getting into surfing with his boys. They dig into wild parenting comparisons, Luis J. Gomez's insane training routines, and Bert feeling FOMO for Andrew Schulz's perfect summer life on Instagram. Tom then drops major news about shooting a new Netflix movie called El Tigre, which leads to Bert sharing his own plans for filming the series Free Bert in Atlanta. With both Bears tied up all summer, they announce special "Summer Bears" episodes and name the two hosts Chris Distefano and Stavros Halkias. Things get political (kind of) as Bert and Tom debate who should talk about world issues—spoiler alert: it's not them. Bert then rants about the sheer terror of hot air balloons and Tom tells another legendary Top Dog tale about how he diverted a plane so he could take a piss.
