If you are interested in the idea of clean skincare, are curious about greenwashing, have a crazy, busy lifestyle, and just don't know where to get started, this episode is for you! Debi Lewis | Kitchen Medicine | PodcastThat's the #Truth podcast Season 2 Episode 5 | Daniel & Jenny MuscatellToday's guest is Debi Lewis. Debi is the author of the parenting and food memoir, Kitchen Medicine: How I Fed My Daughter out of Failure to Thrive. She has written for outlets including The New York Times, Bon Appetit, Huffington Post, Romper, Wired, and more. She lives in the Chicago suburbs with her husband and two teenaged daughters. Kitchen Medicine: How I Fed My Daughter out of Failure to Thrive tells the story of how Lewis made her way through mothering and feeding a sick child, aided by Lewis' growing confidence in front of the stove. It's about how she eventually saw her role as more than caretaker and fighter for her daughter's health and how she had to redefine what mothering—and feeding—looked like once her daughter was well. This is the story of learning to feed a child who can't seem to eat. It's the story of growing love for food, a mirror for people who cook for fuel and those who cook for love; for those who see the miracle in the growing child and in the fresh peach; for matzo-ball lovers and the gluten-intolerant; and for parents who want to feed their kids without starving their souls.Connect with Daniel and Jenny:Website:https: //www.muscatellministries.com/Website:https: //www.jennymuscatell.com/Insta:https: //www.instagram.com/jennymuscatell/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JenMuscatellPodcast: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1737272Connect with Debi: Website: https://www.debilewis.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/growthesunshine/Twitter: https://twitter.com/growthesunshine

Listen, I know this saying is catchy, we often want to justify why we are not where we want to be just yet, why we haven't figured it all out, etc. But in doing so we discredit ourselves. Let's talk about why you are NOT a work in progress my love!ARE WE CONNECTED?theamandamurphy.cominstagram.com/theamandamurphy
Look, we all know that rude a$$ that is always saying mean AF things to us? So what do we do about it!? What should you know about it? Are you exempt from her? Hmm, let's chat. ARE WE CONNECTED?instagram.com/theamandamurphytheamandamurphy.com
Okay, okay, hear me out first! I truly believe that there is a need for the body-positive community and all of its badass warriors. But you are so much more than a body sis! There is so much more to be talking about and I feel like it's either one or the other! This or that! No one is talking about how we have to blend the two, how they are connected!Well, I am. Let's chat!ARE WE CONNECTED?instagram.com/theamandamurphytheamandamurphy.com
So we have "issues" with our bodies, with the food we eat, our size, exercise you name it. We all are working hard to re-write the narrative around these things to relieve ourselves from these issues. But what if I told you that despite it feeling like there are so many "issues" it all just comes from one place, it all has the same source? For you, for me, for all of us, it is the same source!!ARE WE CONNECTED?instagram.com/theamandamurphytheamandamurphy.com
Okay, so every new year we all go into the new year with new goals. But are they really all that new? Also, why are you waiting until the new year to start a goal anyways? Do you know how much can happen in such a short amount of time!?I have some hard, honest truth for you sis! Let's talk! Are we connected?theamandamurphy.cominstagram.com/theamandamurphy
We all wake up and have things that make us feel anything but joy or excitement. We are also quick to blame those things on the wrong thing, we are grasping at straws trying to change it, just not getting any closer to what we want. I think I know why. let's dive on in. ARE WE CONNECTED?instagram.com/theamandamurphytheamandamurphy.com
Are we showing up authentically, in a way that feels good to you? Or are you showing up in a way that you feel you SHOULD show up? There is a big difference between the two and it has a huge effect on how you feel!Let's dive in!Are you connected?theamandamurphy.cominstagram.com/theamandamurphy
We live in a world where we are made to feel like we are missing out and we fear what we are missing out on. The truth is all this fear of missing out, this fear of getting is wrong, it isn't doing us any good. It's actually doing the opposite. Here is why. Let's dive in.ARE WE CONNECTED?theamandamurphy.cominstagram.com/theamandamurphy
A spirit message has dropped a bomb on me recently and I HAVE to share it with you loves! Something that surfaced and just came and hit me like BAM! You have to hear this!Let's dive on in!Are we connected?Instagram.com/theamandamurphytheamandamurphy.com
So your girl did it! She FINALLY turned 30! The DIRTY THIRTY! It was amazing and everything I wanted and hoped it could be. But there have surely been some amazing things I have learned in my twenties! I want to share with you the highlights of those things! Of course, if I shared them all like I wanted to we would be here forEVER!Are we connected?intagram.com/theamandamurphyinstagram.com/olivineandhoneywww.theamandamurphy.com
So what do your favorite TV show, your favorite spot to eat, your favorite hoodie, and your comfort zone all have in common? Well, let's chat about it. Also, let's talk about why this commonality will help you better understand yourself and bust through those goals! Are we connected?instagram.com/theamandamurphyinstagram.com/olivineandhoneytheamandamurphy.com

Eating healthy doesn't have to be as rough of a road as you might imagine. Many people have a fear of embarking on leading a more organic lifestyle. As guest Kyyeetha (Ky) Archinard put it, the response is typically something like, "So now I guess we're just going to eat grass."But, it doesn't have to be as rough of a road as you might imagine. Sometimes, it just takes one thing to get you on the path to healthier eating. Ky has dedicated her time to educating and coaching people on approaching this transition. Taking clients on a field trip through their pantries has helped to transform so many lives. "Healing begins with nature" became the slogan for one of her companies because that is what she believes. Listen as Ky joins Lisa Davis to share her journey to healthier living, the motivations that encouraged her to "gut and rebuild" her pantry, and how she and her family are benefiting from that decision.

Sound Trouble Again! I do want to apologize for the sound once again. Part of it is on my end, idk what happened but maybe my headphones weren’t plugged in so Kara’s voice is on my track too, I tried to edit out this echo/double voice over as much as possible and then there are still sounds in the backgrounds throughout our conversations. So sorry listeners :(( (https://www.facebook.com/groups/organiclivingformoms/) I’m excited to introduce this guest because we met on Facebook and she has a great group I think you are going to be interested in called (https://www.facebook.com/groups/organiclivingformoms/) Kara Grant Tell us a little about yourself. So I own a (https://www.facebook.com/ABQBNB/) , Ive been doing that for about 12 years, I was born and raised here in New Mexico. My parents were actually farmers and ranchers here. I grew up with a love for the earth and gardening. Homeschooling lesson on Apples for Organic Moms from the Facebook Group (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10216853076429919&set=g.653840924986614&type=1&theater&ifg=1) homeschooled my kids original education is in elementary education. 2 boys and 2 girls married college graduates I’m 12 years into my B&B business I’m actually more freed up (https://www.facebook.com/groups/organiclivingformoms/) My son, he’s a digital marketer So many women and people who would like the knowledge you have, this would be a great way to share it. You found me in that group. So many questions I’m so curious about that B&B, what’s that like. It was kind of an accident, we had been restoring properties historic neighborhood We were living in it and we ended up buying the one next door home with our for kids I was like I’m up fixing breakfast anyways We started with that house doing the work restoration landscaping everything It has challenges because it is a business your on 24 hours a day. I actually got a phone call yesterday at 5 in the morning! People are in different time zones. You get up and do breakfast, my kids have grown up and raised in it My personal experience cooking and growing organically. We raised our own chickens so we cook their eggs and they are served to the guests tomatoes are coming like crazy. fresh tomatoes Canned up some jellies and the guests some times buy that. It’s a fun way to use some of the joys doing and passionate about in my business as well It has its challenges, it’s a full time 24 hour a day Fun business and a chance to meet a lot of intersteing people. I feel like your kids got to meet some amazing people that way They did! One of my fun stories is my son played the flute and they had a flutist convention. One of the big performers was actually staying with us and he worked with my son and he taught him some special techniques. It’s been really and interesting and fun! But the kids sometimes say, where’s our private life? Sometimes you get tired of people too. again I do have a property 15 more of my chickens It’s quiet place I literally just dive in and lose myself everyday away quiet time I grew up on a farm and a ranch so I enjoy people but I also love my solitude. My parents only stayed at B&B when were kids, I don’t think we ever stayed in a hotel. Tell me about your first gardening experience? That was probably my first growing up as a kid to the side of the house my parents always had an amazing big garden time when it wasn’t not fun playground as well 3 other siblings found some unique way got us in trouble that was probably some of my favorite things in the evenings as the sun was setting going out with my dad, and picking a cantaloupe him pulling out his Support this podcast

This is the SkinYoga Masterclass 1, Episode 3 Remedies for hairfall. In this episode, we will discuss the causes, natural remedies and lifestyle changes for Hair problems. Hairfall is one problem that nobody notices till it is almost serious. One day you’re getting ready for your regular day and suddenly you notice that your hair brush looks a little fuller than it usually is. It might not be the case, but when we realize, it seems like a big deal. Hairfall is one problem whose onset is fairly secret. So you should focus on the remedies as soon as you realize that you are starting to notice more hair fall than usual. The first thing you do is consult an expert to be sure that it is not an underlying symptom of something more serious. But more often than not, it will be just hair fall. First, lets look at the Common Causes of Hairfall: Poor Hair Care: Excessive Hair Products: Pollution: Insufficient proteins: Stress: After rolling out other problems, here is what you should do for getting rid of hair fall with natural remedies: Coconut Oil: Neem: Eggs: Olive Oil: Yogurt: This is a list to start, but not at all exclusive, please share your remedies if you don’t find it included in the given list. You can write to us on Instagram, facebook or twitter – our handle is @skinyoga or you can send us a mail on contact@skinyoga.in Apart from the remedies listed above, we will also mention some of the common lifestyle traits that might be causing or even aggravating the problem at hand. Choose your hair care products wisely: With the evolving lifestyle. Your hair products claim to do everything except washing your car for you, but beware, the products are marketed aggressively and targeted in a way that people believe them. Choose your products based on the ingredients that you know and can pronounce. Rely on organic product mixtures rather than chemical heavy formulas, as these only damage your hair in the long term. Follow a natural routine: Use a couple of natural ingredients other than your regular shampoo-conditioner to protect your hair from common problems such as dandruff, hair fall etc. Using the ingredients mentioned before like eggs, olive oil and also curd will improve the health of your hair and strengthen them internally. Clean what you cover your head with: This sounds stupid but becomes a leading cause, as you cleanse your hair extensively every day and use the same cap, helmet etc. Protect your hair from common damage: If you know you are going to be in an environment where your hair is going to be subjected to various sources of damage, prepare your hair to sustain that or cleanse your hair and scalp after you return. Use natural oils: Use any of the natural hair oils to protect your hair and scalp from drying up an inviting problems such as dry hair, dandruff, scalp damage etc. An oil therapy before a shampoo is a great idea. Try our remedies and let us know how they work for you, mention us in your posts or comment your feedback, your special remedies or routines! After all, we should benefit as a community. 5 Habits of Eating Healthy Number. 1. Don’t Starve – It might seem funny as we are talking about eating , but it is as important as it can get. When you are hungry, you harm your body no lesser than overeating or eating junk food. While Hunger saps your energy. It also disturbs your rhythms of eating. So to keep feeling energized and keeping your rhythms intact don’t forget to grab a bite in those 20 minute breaks. Drink Water – Again, not a very amazing tip, but it comes with a solid reason . if you feel the pangs of hunger every now and then sometimes, it’s just your mind misunderstanding your thirst! Who knew? Try this , drink water about 30 minutes before eating, that way you’ll know if you’re Really Hungry! What you can do is set alarms on your phone as contant reminder. This is something that I personally swear by. Eat happily – people have started following their strict diets, but they are not very happy about it, so it does not help if you follow it unwillingly. Eating a waffle with a smile would be less harmful than eating a bowl of salad with a frown. Well don’t go by this advice ,only filter in the good bits. There have been abundant stories of people eating right for almost their entire life, and still having the same illness that they had in the first place, if they had just continued eating unhealthy. What a bummer? Moral of the story love your food. Moderate Protein – Nowadays, a lot of people are buying synthetic proteins in big bottles and consuming protein like it is the end of the world. Just in case you didn’t know, Protein overdose can cause cancer. So, instead of consuming synthetic proteins, shift to proteins that comes from natural sources. Avoid Sugar – Our sweetheart Sugar is the civilised cousin of cocaine. Try to replace the use of refined sugar in your cooking. Apart from the long term health problems like diabetes, there are also short term disadvantages. As sugar provides a temporary energy boost but gives a crash after a few hours, leaving you lazier than before . As the law of universe says If it provides you quick highs it will definitely serve a quick lows. For more updates and content on Organic Living, Yoga, Natural Products and much more, stay tuned!

What is Natural or Organic Living? The dictionary describes these meanings as: Natural: Existing in or derived from nature. Organic: 1. relating to or derived from living matter. 2. (of food or farming methods) produced or involving production without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or other artificial chemicals. Living: the pursuit of a lifestyle of the specified type. "the benefits of country living" synonyms: Way of life, lifestyle, manner of living, way of living, mode of living, life. Combined the three words give us the foundation to accurately talk about natural and organic living. Not long ago the word organic held the same meaning as natural living. It wasn't a hype word or one that put an extra price tag on an item. It was just a way of life. People wanted items or food where they knew what was in them. This led to growing your own produce, making your food such as butter and cheeses from scratch, to sewing your own clothes and making your soaps, sunscreens and so on. Some of this came from the financial burden the depression or lack of resources caused, but mostly living natural and organic was done because it was and is the best way in which a family can live and did for generations. I grew up this way as did many reading this article. My husband and I also choose now to raise our kids the same way. Why? Health benefits Quality of life Affordable living Quality food and products Maintaining forgotten skills These are my top five reasons for Natural and Organic Living and ones I'm not willing to give up for the sake of convenience. Convenient and natural or organic living do not fit in the same sentence. At least when we're talking about quality. If you're referring to the convenience of having food in your garden instead of going to the store or grabbing a tincture instead of heading to the doctor, then yes, it is convenient that way. Remember though it took a lot of work to get your garden to produce and time to make the tinctures. People now, often trade convenience for quality and health. Something worth having takes hard work the same as something that's quality takes time. Organic and Natural take both time and hard work. Skills that are essential and somewhat forgotten or not used. Quality versus Convenience Q. Homegrown food and meals. C. Buying everything from the store and popping in a microwave dinner. Q. Homemade tinctures that take 2-4 weeks. C. Buying over the counter medicine or going to the doctor and getting a prescription. Q. Canning and preserving your own food. C. Filling your cart at the grocery store in a matter of minutes. Q. Sewing C. Purchasing linens or clothes at a store. Do you see the difference? I understand everyone's situation and lifestyles are different. Some could care less about living a natural and organic life while others are either living it or trying to start. Where ever you're at on this scale I'm not criticizing you. This article is merely to point out the benefits of natural and organic living. Maybe it will even help some of you understand why that's important to people like me. In a world of cancer and autoimmune diseases, I feel it's, now more than ever, important to live a healthy and natural/organic life. Why? Because a lot of diseases can be prevented with natural herbals and healthy living. How? Eating healthy, being consistent, and giving up convenient for the sake of quality. In the end, it all comes down to you as an individual and what you choose to put into your body and or how you choose to treat your body in terms of being active. Life is one big choice in which we all try to choose the best. This is my version of that, but as I said it's not for everyone. You make your own choices based on your life and your families. I'm only giving you another option or choice to consider. -Heather Earles

One man's journey to wellness with organic foods after a life of drug addiction and depression.
Ethan Hughes talks about the continued commitment of he and his partner, Sarah, to Radical Simplicity, "inner" --personal/spiritual-- work, and political activism. Ethan and Sarah put out to the universe and their contacts that they wanted a community that embodied those qualities and very quickly raised the funds with which they bought, sight unseen, an 80 acre farm in Missouri . They never use cars except in dire emergencies so they took the train to Missouri and rode their bikes the four miles to their farm to see it for the first time. Ethan personally has been in a car seven times in the past ten years. On their farm they grow organic food and live sustainably. Their place is electricity free and therefore is also free of computer and other electricially powered technology. Over 600 guests have visited so far. They invite others to visit. Their community is also the Headquarters for the Super Heroes, an organization Hughes founded of young folks who go out to help where they're needed as, for example when 25 young people biked to New Orleans to help for a few months or more with the Katrina disaster. One of the important guidelines by which they live and are consciously creating the future is the importance of experiencing joy in what they do. If they are not feeling joy they stop what they're doing until they deal with whatever is in the way and they return to joy. Nonviolent communication is also a way of life as is not paying taxes for war as well as creating their own art and entertainment. Hughes shares that one of the most interesting and wonderful things that they're learning in their local rural Missouri community is that the kindness of people is totally unrelated to their political affiliation and ideology which has been so influenced by the corporate media. The most important thing is to be in your heart path!Contact info: The Possibility Alliance, 28408 Frontier Lane, Laplata, Missouri 63549tel: 660-332-4094Recorded February 9, 2009
