In this episode, Brock Johnson  breaks down how one creator beat the Instagram algorithm and gained 39,000 followers in just 90 days. He walks through the exact posting strategy that was used, including high-frequency posting, repeatable content formats, and how consistency played a larger role than tactics like trial Reels or trends. Brock will cover how posting up to 12 times per day was structured, how content was upcycled without a team, and why this system led to a major increase in reach and engagement. This episode focuses on the mechanics behind the growth, the posting cadence, and the lessons creators can apply if they want to grow faster on Instagram in 2026. Watch On YouTube

In this episode of the Successful Stylist Academy Podcast, Ambrosia Carey shares key insights from a recent conversation with the Meta and the Instagram team about what is actually working on Instagram right now. This episode breaks down practical social media strategies specifically for hairstylists and salon owners who want to grow their audience, attract better clients, and create content that performs consistently without burnout. Ambrosia discusses the shift from hashtags to keywords, how consistency trains the algorithm, and why Reels and Stories serve very different purposes in your content strategy. She also explains how engagement velocity impacts reach, why trial reels are an underrated feature, and how using Instagram's native tools can improve performance. This episode is designed for hairstylists and salon owners who want clear, realistic guidance on building a sustainable Instagram presence while staying authentic to their voice and brand. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by social media or unsure what actually matters anymore, this conversation will help simplify your approach and give you a strategic path forward. Join the SSA LAB Membership now! https://small-kiwi-98108.myflodesk.com/gnfbcgfrjq Get 2 months of GlossGenius Gold or Platnium for FREE use code SUCCESSFUL Key Takeaways   1. Instagram is shifting toward prioritizing keywords over hashtags, which means hairstylists and salon owners should clearly describe their services and specialties in captions so the algorithm understands who to show their content to. 2. Consistency in posting helps train the Instagram algorithm to recognize your niche and audience, and a predictable posting rhythm often performs better than sporadic bursts of content.    3. Reels are essential for discoverability and attracting new clients, while Stories are better suited for nurturing relationships with the audience you already have. 4. Engagement velocity plays an important role in reach, and responding quickly to comments signals to the algorithm that your content is creating meaningful conversations.  5. Trial reels provide a valuable opportunity to test new content ideas and formats before sharing them with your full audience. 6. Using Instagram's native tools such as text overlays, captions, audio, and in-app editing features can improve both content quality and overall reach. 7. Carousel posts remain a powerful format because they retain viewer attention longer and allow stylists to communicate educational and high-value content more clearly. 8. Content performs best when it answers real questions and solves real problems for your audience rather than simply following trends. 9. Authenticity and clarity in messaging are more effective long-term strategies than chasing viral trends that do not align with your brand. 10. Regularly reviewing your content performance allows hairstylists and salon owners to refine their social media strategy and make better decisions about what to create next. Show Notes In this episode Ambrosia shares insights from a direct conversation with the Meta and Instagram team about how the platform is evolving and what hairstylists need to understand in order to stay relevant and visible.  Listeners will learn why Instagram is becoming more keyword-driven, how posting consistency influences reach, and how stylists can simplify their content strategy without feeling overwhelmed. This conversation also covers the difference between Reels and Stories, the role of engagement and response time, and how using Instagram's built-in tools can improve results. This episode is especially helpful for hairstylists and salon owners who want to build a stronger online presence, attract ideal clients, and grow their business through intentional content creation. What happens when technology stops asking us to use our brains, our imagination, and our judgment? Dan Sullivan and Jeffrey Madoff trace the journey from radio and early television to social media and AI, and show entrepreneurs how to stay uniquely human, think critically, and build theatrical companies that technology can't compete with. Show Notes:The shift from radio to television showed how adding visuals can change our engagement with a story, sometimes in ways that make us more passive as audiences.Music videos and MTV forced musicians to become visual content creators, even when their real talent and passion were in the music itself. If you rely on technology as your main point of differentiation, you lock yourself into constant, exhausting adaptation as the tools change overnight.Treat social platforms as corporate media, not “social” spaces, and remember that if the service is free, you and your attention are actually the product being sold.Algorithms tend to amplify negative, alarming content because it gets more attention and clicks, even though it often harms people's thinking and mood. Our brains are more reactive to perceived threats and negativity than to calm, positive information.Great companies are built by entrepreneurs who cast people for roles based on character, potential, and fit, not just past experience or static job definitions.Entrepreneurs also need to consciously recast themselves over time so their role stays aligned with what they do best and find most meaningful. What many people label a “crisis” is often just a loss of convenience or comfort, which is a sign of how little real adversity they have had to face.Technology consistently eliminates repetitive heavy labor, but it doesn't automatically produce more creativity or fulfillment—those require personal choice and intention.Resources: Casting Not Hiring by Dan Sullivan and Jeffrey Madoff Your Business Is A Theater Production: Your Back Stage Shouldn't Show On The Front Stage The Road to Serfdom by F.A. John X hosts the third episode of “Born In Trouble” with guests Robert Brooks (in-studio) and Andrew Johnson (host of the Men Money and Marriage Podcast). The conversation ranges from reactions to a Spanish-language halftime performance and public discomfort with other cultures, to concerns that the U.S. is increasingly divided and “full of” contradictions. They discuss faith and the idea that there is only one God/Jesus, argue that protecting vulnerable children is a moral imperative, and condemn pedophilia while criticizing how high-profile cases and trials are drip-fed to distract the public. They talk about Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell's alleged intelligence ties, and claim Epstein did not want Black people on the island, framing it as “white on white crime,” while cautioning against pulling Black people in as scapegoats. They revisit Michael Jackson, suggesting allegations were tied to power and music publishing, describing how he amassed catalogs (including the Beatles and Sony-related publishing) and used leverage in the industry, including returning Little Richard's rights. The episode also covers immigration and business incentives to exploit undocumented labor, including avoiding taxes/benefits, and connects this to broader U.S. history and Manifest Destiny, arguing people are “coming back” to land taken from Mexico. They speculate about hidden history, restricted sites like parts of the Grand Canyon, and debates over identity, criticizing tribalism and the use of slurs within communities. Andrew shares concerns about his daughter's future, rising costs, and the increasing age of first-time homebuyers; they discuss 50-year mortgages as “glorified renting” and how lack of equity could discourage divorce. They debate AI's impact on jobs, suggesting timelines are exaggerated but warning about motives, and they argue screen-based schooling and phone dependence reduce creativity and critical thinking in Gen Z. They briefly mention hypocrisy around anti-LGBTQ rhetoric (including Grindr spikes during Republican conventions) and insist people should be judged by character rather than group identity. The episode closes with a warning about scapegoating, references to “ghetto loans” from mortgage work, commentary on hypocrisy in politics and culture, and a sign-off framing the episode as “Devil Worshipers,” with plans for future episodes and a possible one-on-one with Grant Lancaster. 00:00 Cold Open and Guests 01:02 Valentine's Day Banter 02:49 Welcome to Born In Trouble 03:40 Super Bowl Halftime Debate 05:47 Do We Stand for Anything 06:19 Faith and Protecting Kids 08:40 Immigration and Business Incentives 10:57 Division and Distraction Politics 12:35 Michael Jackson Revisited 15:02 Publishing Power and Catalog Wars 18:06 Epstein Network and Race 23:01 Manifest Destiny and Hidden History 25:34 Identity Tribalism and Language 28:55 When Did It Get So Tribal 29:16 Tribal Cities Talk 31:18 Parenting and Housing Fears 32:25 Looking Rich Economy 33:22 Fifty Year Mortgages 36:16 Aging Out the Demo 37:32 AI Jobs Reality Check 42:02 Screen Age Kids 45:05 Tribalism and Community 49:19 LGBTQ and Hypocrisy 54:17 Closing Thoughts and Signoff

Technology evolves. Empires rise and fall. But the algorithm of life keeps running. We unpack how cause and effect, alignment, repetition, resonance, and pattern operate across time whether in 2121 or biblical days. Before modern science labeled them. Before theology explained them. Before culture debated them. The code was already written into creation. This episode challenges the idea that principles are era-specific. We explore how universal structure applies to everyone, everywhere, simultaneously and what that means for your choices, your research, your faith, and your future.Because walls do not fall randomly.Futures do not unfold accidentally. And the algorithm does not take sides. It processes.Tune in for a conversation that bends time without breaking logic and reminds us that no matter the century, alignment still matters.

Dyson shares personal stories from decades alongside Jackson, tracing his rise after Dr. King's assassination, the Rainbow Coalition campaigns of 1984 and 1988, and the relentless activism that defined his final years. The discussion turns to who carries that mantle now and what leadership looks like in a moment many Americans feel is lacking it. Gary Vee joins to talk about the algorithm-driven culture shaping politics, outrage, and self-worth — and why accountability, mindset, and economic opportunity may matter more than partisan warfare. Cuomo pushes back on whether social media is neutral, how political primaries reward extremes, and whether Americans still know how to disagree without dehumanizing one another. Marketing your podcast is not about posting audiograms on Instagram and hoping someone clicks. If you've been told that social media is the only way to grow your show, this episode is going to shift how you think about online visibility entirely. Because marketing your podcast the right way has far less to do with constant promotion — and far more to do with intentional strategy before you ever hit record. In this episode, I walk you through the five things I do on repeat when I want my episodes to get discovered by ideal clients. And here's the part most people miss: marketing your podcast starts long before you publish. It starts with choosing a target keyword before you record a single word. It continues with writing long-form show notes that are structured for search. And it requires understanding that podcast marketing is about discoverability, not just distribution. For years, I made the same mistakes most podcasters make. I focused on creating great content and assumed that was enough. I promoted on social media. I relied on bursts of attention. And I couldn't understand why my show wasn't being surfaced to new listeners consistently. The issue wasn't the content. It was the lack of SEO and algorithm awareness. If you want to grow your online business and make money online using your show, you need more than good episodes. You need structure. That includes intentionally using multiple supporting keywords inside your show notes, making them at least 2,000 characters long so search engines understand what your content is about, and adding strategic tags inside your host settings every single time you publish. We also talk about something most creators ignore: consistency signals. Publishing at the exact same time every single week tells the algorithm your show is reliable. Algorithms reward reliability. And when you combine that with strong keyword positioning, your online visibility compounds over time. This episode is especially important if you want to start a podcast for business or you're serious about monetizing your podcast. Because marketing online through a podcast is one of the few strategies where the algorithm is actually friendly — if you understand how it works. You do not have to depend on social media to grow your show. In fact, if you master podcast marketing through SEO, search intent, and positioning, your show can become discoverable long after the episode is published.Inside my free bootcamp, I go much deeper into this exact strategy — how to design a podcast that supports monetizing your podcast, drives conversions, and builds real online visibility without constant promotion. If you've been thinking marketing your podcast means more posting, this episode will show you why it's actually about smarter positioning.Press play, take notes, and let's make your podcast easier to find — and easier to monetize.Take what you need, and go run your damn business.Ready to turn your podcast into a real business asset? If you already have a podcast that isn't making sales — or you're thinking about starting one and want to do it right from day one — I'm hosting a FREE, live training that will show you exactly how to build a podcast that actually supports your revenue. Inside the Profitable Podcast Kickstarter, I'll walk you through how to: • connect your podcast to a real offer • stop creating content that goes nowhere • turn listeners into clients — without living on social media

In this episode of Scouting for Growth, Sabine VanderLinden welcomes Gil Arazi—a serial entrepreneur, executive, and leading insurtech investor—to explore the urgent transformation taking place in insurance. Gil Arazi argues that the industry's traditional role of simply paying claims post-loss is outdated and that prevention is the new north star for sustainable growth. Their conversation dives into why insurance must shift from risk transfer to risk mitigation, what the future holds as data, AI, and even quantum computing disrupt business models, and how prevention can actually drive profit—not just avoid cost. Gil Arazi introduces The Spark, a not-for-profit initiative designed to help insurers decrease systemic risk and increase societal resilience through practical collaboration, not empty innovation theater. KEY TAKEAWAYS Reflecting on my conversation with Gil Arazi, several themes truly stood out, affirming both the urgency and opportunity for true transformation across insurance.  First, it's clear that insurance cannot remain content with its legacy of paying claims post-loss. We are entering an era where prevention, not just remediation, is imperative—technological advancements, from AI to quantum computing, now offer insurers the tools to anticipate and prevent systemic risks, fundamentally altering their value to customers and society. The model must evolve from chasing losses to proactively reducing risk, and this shift is not just about cost efficiency, but empowering profitable growth through enhanced customer retention and relevance. In building The Spark as a nonprofit prevention lab, Gil Arazi emphasized a collective responsibility: by leveraging data, domain expertise, and increasingly mature technology, we—insurers, partners, and innovators—can bridge the protection gap and act as genuine “protection architects.” This vision requires us to move beyond innovation theater and toward real operational enablement, where execution trumps experimentation. The challenge, however, is not just technological—it is cultural and emotional. Building trust across competitors demands we fall in love with solving the problem, not just owning the solution. Clear boundaries and shared vulnerabilities create the foundation for meaningful collaboration on the risks no single entity can control alone. BEST MOMENTS “The insurance industry needs to move from reacting to the claim ... to proactive prevention of this damage or systemic risk.”  “The only way insurance can be actually successful and sustainably profitable is by being biased.”  “Technology will predict risk, but humans will decide what to do with it. Algorithms are very good at probability, but they're terrible at responsibility.”  “Do something good for humanity and for yourself. Send a textThis week on the Mike & Blaine Podcast, we dig into one of the strangest realities of modern internet culture: the smaller and more ridiculous the conflict, the more attention it seems to attract. From comment-section battles and “subtle shade” reels to stitched reaction videos and viral mini-drama clips, it's clear the internet is wired to amplify disagreement far faster than nuance or facts. We unpack why humans are psychologically drawn to conflict, how social media algorithms actively reward outrage, and why even thoughtful creators and well-intentioned brands feel pressure to lean into controversy just to stay visible. But more importantly, we explore the strategic side of it: attention is a currency, and not all attention compounds in your favor. In this episode, we connect the dots between viral drama and real business strategy. When does provocative content drive meaningful engagement, and when does it quietly erode trust? How can founders, marketers, and creators design content that cuts through the noise without burning credibility? And what tactics can you use to build long-term audience loyalty in a system that's optimized for short-term spikes? If you've ever wondered why calm, thoughtful content gets ignored, why your smartest posts underperform, or how to play the algorithm game without selling your soul, this conversation breaks it down in a practical, no-nonsense way.Grab a drink, pull up a chair, and join Mike & Blaine as we talk internet culture, marketing psychology, and the hidden costs of chasing clicks.Enjoying the show? The European Union is already suing X claiming authority to regulate speech far beyond its borders — including U.S. elections. Now Germany is asserting the right to interfere in Hungary's election because they don't like Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. At the center of the fight? Speech. Algorithms. Control. The EU wants access to internal systems, monitoring authority over content moderation, and the ability to enforce European “hate speech” standards worldwide. That includes criticism of open borders, immigration policy, or cultural issues. Meanwhile, critics point to actions taken during the Joe Biden administration involving federal pressure on social platforms to moderate certain accounts. Is this about safety? Or is this about political control? Today's episode breaks down: Germany's legal claims over Hungarian elections The EU's legal battle with X Digital censorship expanding beyond borders What it could mean for U.S. elections in 2026 and 2028 Rising political tensions across France and Germany If online speech determines modern campaigns, who controls the platform controls the battlefield.

We're living in a digital battlefield and most men don't even know they're fighting. The time we spend on our devices is unreal, and if it's free, you're the product. Algorithms and machine learning are engineered to hijack your attention, erode focus, and create compulsive habits. Today we're talking about auditing your digital life, removing the noise to find the signal, and building the discipline to guard your mind in an age of constant distraction. Joining me is Richard Ryan, author of The Warrior's Garden, built on the principle that it's better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war. We discuss digital detox, delayed gratification, accountability, and reclaiming the smallest locus of control so you can't be manipulated by the forces competing for your attention. In the early 2000s, Sunil Nakrani felt stuck. Back then, websites crashed all the time. When Sunil noticed this, he decided he was going to fix the internet. But after nearly a year of studying the architecture of the web, he was no closer to an answer. In desperation, Sunil sent out a raft of cold emails to engineering professors. He hoped someone, anyone, could help him figure this out. Eventually, he learned that the internet could only be fixed if he paid attention to the humble honeybee. This is the story of the Honeybee Algorithm: How tech used honeybees to build the internet as we know it.Special thanks to John Bartholdi, John Vande Vate, Sammy Ramsey, James Marshall, Steve Strogatz, Duc Pham, and Heiko Hamann. We found out about this story thanks to our friends at AAAS, who run the one and only Golden Goose Awards. The award goes to government funded science that sounds trivial or bizarre, but goes on to change the world. The Honeybee Algorithm won a Golden Goose Award back in 2016 (https://www.goldengooseaward.org/01awardees/honey-bee-algorithm).
