TEXT US YOUR THOUGHTS!Hosts **Tony Sisk** and **Jaime G** kick off the "video game fall season" by discussing two major new releases: the highly anticipated indie sequel **Hollow Knight: Silksong** and the AAA looter-shooter **Borderlands 4**. Jaime shares his enthusiastic impressions of **Silksong**, highlighting its six-year development history, its origins as an intended DLC for *Hollow Knight* that grew into a full standalone sequel, and its budget price point of $20. He praises its Metroidvania genre execution, comparing its difficulty to *Elden Ring*, noting the lack of a ramp-up for new players, and describing the protagonist Hornet's high mobility and fluid movement as a major gameplay addition. Tony offers his initial thoughts on **Borderlands 4**, which he picked up as a physical copy on launch day. He states that the game is **"very good"** and already **"easily" better than Borderlands 3**. Tony praises the narrative, specifically highlighting the **memorable NPC characters** and the investment in their stories, which he feels was lacking in the previous installment. The hosts note the interesting contrast between the highly-rated, budget indie title (**Silksong**) and the large-scale AAA release (**Borderlands 4**), setting up a future discussion comparing their reception and player count, especially on platforms like Steam.---## Show Notes**Podcast Title:** Good Game Radio**Topics:** Video Game Fall Season Kickoff, *Hollow Knight: Silksong* Release and Review, *Borderlands 4* Initial Impressions.###

On this week's episode, Nathan and Luke are joined by Cameron Kunzelman of the Ranged Touch podcast network who has a book about Assassin's Creed, Everything Is Permitted, coming out next month. We discuss how the series has evolved over the years, with each sequel and spinoff essentially functioning as an argument in favor of the series' continued existence. Highlights include: why Brotherhood was weird and kinda bad, how Ubisoft portrayed itself in its own book about Assassin's Creed's legacy, and the origin of the series' entire Assassins vs Templars conflict (the first chunk of just one book). Then we move on to modern Assassin's Creed-related matters: This week, news broke that Ubisoft canceled a Reconstruction-era AC game that would've starred a freed slave, citing the current political climate and backlash to Yasuke, a Black samurai in Assassin's Creed Shadows. This after Ubisoft reportedly accepted funding from Saudi Arabia to develop a new DLC for Assassin's Creed Mirage. Says a lot about where the company's priorities lie! Finally, we adapt the Bible's Old Testament into a WarioWare-like minigame collection. Well, look at you. Welcome back to Part Three of our expedition into Pixel Perfect, the 2004 Disney Channel Original Movie that asked: what if artificial intelligence had some stage presence and complex emotional baggage? By this point, the crew's either uncovering new layers of meaning or avoiding the plot again. Either way, riveting stuff. As always, the following conversation contains spoilers — though, really, if you didn't deduce that, it's on you. And yes, there will be profanity. Consider it the adult language DLC to a very G rated plot. If you'd like to catch up, revisit our prior tangents, or send an some fan art, head to B S Reactor dot com. It's the digital nerve center of this project — messy, mostly functional, and only slightly haunted by bad decisions; like your mom. Now then — let's dive back in. Thirsty lyrics, adolescent philosophy, and another reminder that perfection isn't just impossible, it's a way to pad the run time.

Endelig! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Marcus and Nathan's DLCs for The Rise of the Golden Idol are out now! To celebrate, Marcus and Nathan share some behind-the-scenes details of working as creative leads. First, they chat about Marcus's sci-fi thriller of the ancient past, The Age of Restraint. Then, they discuss Nathan's swashbuckling, time-twisting finale, The Curse of the Last Reaper. If you have questions about either DLC, feel free to reach out on our Discord!Music by Paul Alexander, one of the amazing composers for The Rise of the Golden Idol.
This is the ideal. With every Second Runs episode, I hope to find out I not only still love the game I'm playing, but that I love it even more. That was the case with Sleeping Dogs. I remembered liking it a lot the first time I played it, but I adored it the second time. I adored it so much, I made it one of the rare games I 100%-ed, completing every aspect of the game, DLC included. Not only that, but I think I might do it a second time with the original release (which is truly insane if I do it). Long story short, Sleeping Dogs is a fantastic game, one well worth playing if you've never played it before.

This week's episode begins with the guys diving into an engaging conversation about the 1990 film adaptation of Dick Tracy, directed by Warren Beatty. They explore the film's unique visual style, which was heavily influenced by the comic strip's vibrant colors and bold designs. The discussion touches on the performances of the cast, particularly Beatty's portrayal of the titular character, as well as the film's reception at the time of its release, both critically and commercially. This nostalgic look back naturally segues into a broader dialogue about the current landscape of streaming services, specifically questioning why these platforms don't simply release their entire libraries of movies and shows for subscribers to binge-watch at their leisure. The guys analyze the various strategies employed by different streaming services, such as staggered releases versus full drops, and the implications these strategies have on viewer engagement and subscription retention. They consider the psychological effects of waiting for episodes to be released weekly, which can create anticipation and discussion among viewers, versus the immediate gratification of binge-watching entire seasons. This leads to an intriguing discussion about the release patterns of serialized shows on platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+, and how these patterns can influence the overall success and cultural impact of a series. As the conversation evolves, Joe skillfully transitions the topic to the gaming world, sharing insights about some new video games that have launched in the past week. He highlights the excitement surrounding these releases, particularly focusing on the newly released downloadable content (DLC) for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, titled The Order of Giants. However, Joe also addresses a significant issue that he and many other players have encountered—a frustrating bug that disrupts gameplay and detracts from the overall experience. This leads to a deeper examination of the common pitfalls in modern gaming, especially concerning the quality assurance processes before a game is released to the public. Following this, Cody chimes in with his own experiences regarding the much-anticipated Borderlands 4. He shares both the exhilarating aspects of the game, such as its engaging storyline and dynamic gameplay mechanics, as well as the numerous bugs and technical issues that have plagued its first week of release. The discussion highlights the challenges developers face in ensuring a smooth launch, especially in a landscape where gamers have high expectations for polished and bug-free experiences. Together, they reflect on the joys and frustrations of gaming in today's rapidly evolving industry, ultimately creating a rich tapestry of conversation that combines nostalgia, current events, and personal anecdotes.Official Website: https://www.comesnaturallypodcast.comOfficial Merchandise: https://shop.spreadshirt.com/comes-naturally-podcast/iTunes: http://tinyurl.com/kqkgackFacebook: http://tinyurl.com/myovgm8Tumblr: http://tinyurl.com/m7a6mg9Twitter: @ComesNaturalPodYouTube: http://tiny.cc/5snxpy

Join Here: https://ow.ly/msoH50WCu0KAnalytic Dreamz dives into Borderlands 4's chaotic September 12, 2025, release by Gearbox Software and 2K Games on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam/Epic—Switch 2 port hits October 3. Set on dystopian Kairos, this darker "soft reboot" trades Borderlands 3's memes for grounded resistance vibes, boasting 20-25 hour main story, 50-60 with sides, and 120-170 completionist runs. Sales exploded: 1M+ on Steam in days, another 1M+ consoles pre-Switch, 5M units in 48 hours (franchise-fastest), pushing lifetime totals past 100M ($150M+ revenue). Peak concurrents hit 304,398 (#46 Steam all-time), outpacing Hollow Knight: Silksong's 587,150 but at $70 vs. $20.Critics laud Metacritic 84/PC and OpenCritic 85 ("Mighty" top 7%) for exhilarating gunplay, loot depth, seamless open world (no loading zones), and co-op—IGN 8/10, GameSpot 7/10 praise mobility like double-jumps, grappling, and hybrid "Licensed Parts" weapons blending 8 manufacturers. Bosses demand 10+ minute multi-phase mechanics, not sponges. But "Stutterlands 4" memes rage over Unreal Engine 5 woes: PC stuttering, RTX 4090 FPS drops, crashes, memory leaks; consoles locked at 70° FOV, no motion blur toggle. Day 1 patch helped, but corrupted saves, UI glitches persist—Steam reviews "Mixed."Controversies fuel toxicity: Pre-launch EULA "spyware" rumors (debunked), Pitchford's "$80 real fans" tweet sparking piracy threats, $130 Super Deluxe skimping DLC vs. BL3's $100 Ultimate. Post-launch, Pitchford's "build your own engine" clapback ignited review-bombs. Community splits on Reddit/X: Co-op bliss and Easter eggs (Noisy Cricket, bobbleheads) vs. bland villain, pricing gripes. Analytic Dreamz unpacks if patches salvage this loot-shooter gem amid franchise highs and dev drama—tune in for the full fallout.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/analytic-dreamz-notorious-mass-effect/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
