Here's a story that goes from the vineyards of Australia to the front lines of the military, and suddenly lands right in bourbon country. Asteroid "12 Victoria" is a large S-type (stony) asteroid in the main asteroid belt, discovered in 1850 by J.R. Hind. It orbits between Mars and Jupiter, recently, a meteor event occurred over Victoria, Australia, in August 2025, which created a sonic boom and was large enough for fragments to potentially have landed on the ground.  5th & 6th - Moon Near Pleiades NGC's 253 & 288 well placed tonight 7th - Cleomedes Sunset Rays visible on Moon 9th  - Carbon Star VX And Best tonight 10th - Jupiter 4-degrees S of Moon 11th - asteroid 471 Papagena at opposition  471 Papagena is an asteroid that was discovered by German astronomer Max Wolf on 7 June 1901 12th - N Taurid Meteors ZHR=5 The Northern Taurid meteor shower, active from roughly October 20 to December 10, peaks around November 12. It is known for producing bright, slow-moving fireballs that are easy to spot with the naked eye. The shower is caused by Earth passing through debris from Comet Encke  14th - Zodiacal Light becomes visible this month 17th - Leonid Meteors this morning The Leonid meteor shower is an annual event that peaks around November 17th, when Earth passes through debris left by Comet 55P/Tempel-Tuttle. These fast, bright meteors appear to originate from the constellation Leo, which is how they got their name. What I love about Jade is her willingness to take those big, scary leaps purely in the name of growth - even when she's nervous - because, as she says, “you always regret the chances you didn't take.”   We also dive deep into the beginning of her career — she started doing “site modeling” at just 14, styling, shooting, and editing her own photos as a one-woman creative outlet, which genuinely helped her come out of a dark period of bullying, depression, and anxiety. From there we follow her path into professional modeling, the encouragement she received to try art nude, navigating family reactions, and the harsh lessons she learned about safety while traveling internationally as a freelance model. I am so excited to say that my guest on the GWA Podcast today is the esteemed curator, Megan Fontanella. A specialist in Modern Art and Provenance at the Guggenheim New York, Fontanella's research interests focus on late 19th and early 20th European art and the avant-garde in the USA. As someone who has officially (gulp) reached mid-life, I can say that despite some of the daunting realizations (I got old??) there are so many wonderful REVElations that occur. One of them being that we have a ton of learned wisdom to share. As Morgan puts it, programs must be driven by culture, informed by risk, and delivered through people, process, and technology. Security can't succeed in isolation from the organization's purpose or its people.The Australian CISO Tribe provides a real-world model for collaboration. Its members share threat intelligence, peer validation, and practical experiences — a living example of collective defense in action. Whether formalized or ad-hoc, these networks give security leaders context, community, and shared strength.Getting Back to BasicsPractical resilience isn't glamorous. It's about getting the basics right — consistent patching, logging, phishing-resistant authentication, verified backups, and tested recovery plans. It's about ensuring that, if everything fails, you can still get back up.When security becomes a business-as-usual practice rather than a project, organizations begin to move from reactive defense to proactive resilience.The TakeawayBridging the cybersecurity divide doesn't require endless budgets. It requires prioritization, simplification, and partnership. Last month, a remarkable journey came to an end when 16-year-old Byron Waller touched down at Brisbane Airport following 67 days circumnavigating the globe in a light aircraft. Covering 41,700km in his Sling TSi, Byron's odyssey through the skies took him over oceans, deserts, ice fields, and everything in between, including a landing at the Grand Canyon and guest appearances at big airshows. It was a monumental effort from a young aviator who just a few years ago was bedridden with chronic illnesses, and turned to flying – including becoming the youngest pilot to circumnavigate Australia, at age 14 – to make his dreams a reality.
