There's no doubt that women experience so much, both physically and emotionally. From our monthly cycles to the unpredictability of menopause, it's astounding how much we endure and yet thrive through.    Have you ever wondered why it feels so hard to live under the expectations placed on us as women? The pressure to hide our natural cycles, to never show signs of aging, and to always be in service to others? If you're exhausted by that narrative, you're not alone—and I'm here to tell you there's another way.    In this episode, I'm sharing my personal experience with my period as I walk through menopause, including the raw and unfiltered truth about how intense, beautiful, and sometimes overwhelming this journey can be. This episode is an emotional tribute to our cycles, and it's also an invitation to reconnect with what it means to be unapologetically you.   In this episode, I'm talking about: Women's bodies and their menstrual cycles The societal pressures on women My personal experience of perimenopause and menopause The reality of menstrual cycles How to create a cycle-aligned life Viewing menopause as a rebirth Rituals of a menstrual cycle   I hope my story resonates with you, wherever you are in your own journey. We all heard the drama of 'Don't Worry, Darling' with rumors of spitting on co-stars, affairs with the director, phone calls about "Miss Flo" and much more leaking their way into the press for an entire year. But what about the plot of this movie (that's a real movie)? The story of a man setting his wife in an idealistic 50-style "traditional" home against her knowledge is not a new one. Its connection to the mid-70s book and movie 'The Stepford Wives' by Ira Levin is impossible to ignore. Today we are talking about all the iterations of this horrific tale and how it relates to the gender roles of the time period, from the 1970s of the first book and movie to the early 2000s remake, and the present-day box-office bomb. We also discuss different expectations of women over time, what men want in a woman, body image, inequality, and sexual assault. TW: some of the topics might be a bit triggering. While training for a sprint triathlon, which she decided to do for the first time in her 50s, My mom had a disastrous embarrassing moment. She's brilliant at telling the story and the lessons she teaches us about happiness and enjoying health and fitness are priceless! Thanks Mom for being my guest... and happy birthday! (This episode airs the week of her birthday, so if you see her, give her a birthday wish!) I love my Mama! Cherie Stoddard is an amazing person who has taught me SO much in life, but the thing about her that sticks out to me the most (and to many other people who know her) is that she's HAPPY. She finds the joy and good in everything and then... she shares it with others! Today, she shares with us how she has found an enjoyable way to love exercise in every phase of her life. You don't have to love what she loves, but I encourage you to take her advice so that health and fitness can be a great part of your days and something that wakes you up in a good mood with excitement and happiness. Her 3 healthy habits for us are: 1- Change up your exercise and do things you LOVE that make you happy. 2- Drinks loads of water. 3- Eat Chocolate! BONUS HABIT - Optimism. Look for the good in yourself, in randomness, in life, in others, and you'll always find it. Want to change your habits but don't want to wait a week at a time to do it? On the show today, I have a design icon. I am sitting down with Norma Kamali who is most well known as a fashion designer but is so much more.  You might know her from her designing pieces such as the Sleeping Bag Coat worn by Lady Gaga and Rihanna or the iconic red swimsuit worn by Farrah Fawcett. Not only can we learn so much from such an iconic designer when it comes to how to design our spaces, but there are also some really cool specifics we get to dive into like her book, I Am Invincible.  Her book is a life handbook for how to navigate each decade of your life with purpose and power.   We talk so much on this show about how life is in phases and our homes reflect that. With each season of our life, our home is going to look very different based on what we need. With all her vast experience, Norma has such a beautiful and unique perspective for how to design your life well, how your home reflects that and how to move through each phase of your life. This is such a beautiful conversation about what empowerment and our spaces can look like through each phase of our lives.  I think this conversation is going to be above and beyond what we normally get on the show in terms of life advice as well as some home design strategies mixed in.  You can download this episode from Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, and Spotify – or listen to it below! listen now .icon-3-1 img{height:50px;width:50px;opacity:1;-moz-box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;-webkit-box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;padding:px;}.icon-3-1 .aps-icon-tooltip:before{border-color:#000} .icon-3-2 img{height:50px;width:50px;opacity:1;-moz-box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;-webkit-box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;padding:px;}.icon-3-2 .aps-icon-tooltip:before{border-color:#000} .icon-3-3 img{height:50px;width:50px;opacity:1;-moz-box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;-webkit-box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;padding:px;}.icon-3-3 .aps-icon-tooltip:before{border-color:#000} .icon-3-4 img{height:50px;width:50px;opacity:1;-moz-box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;-webkit-box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;padding:px;}.icon-3-4 .aps-icon-tooltip:before{border-color:#000} .icon-3-5 img{height:50px;width:50px;opacity:1;-moz-box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;-webkit-box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;padding:px;}.icon-3-5 .aps-icon-tooltip:before{border-color:#000} .icon-3-6 img{height:50px;width:50px;opacity:1;-moz-box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;-webkit-box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;box-shadow:0px 0px 0px 0 ;padding:px;}.icon-3-6 .aps-icon-tooltip:before{border-color:#000}

I cannot wait for you to dive into this episode! We're chatting all things smoothies & cycle phases. There are different nutritional needs in each phase of your cycle (Follicular, Ovulation, Luteal, Menstruation). If we don’t support those hormonal changes & what our body truly needs it can cause PMS symptoms & imbalances. Once progesterone comes into the mix after ovulation it acts as a muscle relaxer so it also relaxes the contractions in our intestines so they are not as easily able to move things through. This is why people can feel constipated leading up to that. While raw foods are amazing & full of nutrients & enzymes they are harder to digest. So it might be a good idea for you to switch up your breakfast in the second half of your cycle (LUTEAL & MENSTRUATION PHASE) if you’re feeling super bloated after a smoothie that you previously did not feel bloated after in the first half of your cycle (follicular & ovulation). Other breakfast options: Chia seed pudding, avocado toast, tofu scramble, Pumpkin protein pancakes. In your LUTEAL phase think root vegetables & whole grains to help digestion Smoothies during your period could actually make cramps worse (contracting everything) FREE 2 day MASTERCLASS: Optimize your digestion WED 5/26 @ 5pm EST THURS 5/27 @ 5pm EST If you desire having more energy, being able to easily go to the bathroom every day (or more!), if you don't want to feel bloated after every meal & you want to learn how optimizing your digestion can optimize your hormones, then this masterclass is for you! My guest today is Geoffrey Moore; a speaker, advisor, and best-selling author of some of the most influential business books of the past decade — including the world-famous book, Crossing the Chasm: Marketing and Selling Disruptive Products to Mainstream Customers. It is no exaggeration to say that Geoffrey’s books have molded my product career throughout the years. From Crossing the Chasm to Inside the Tornado, Dealing with Darwin to Zone to Win — his deep insights into how the B2B market works have been a critical component of how I approach product strategy and innovation. This is just one of the reasons why I’m so excited to have Geoffrey on the show today. In this episode, we discuss how an enterprise’s structure needs to adapt to drive innovation, how leaders should incorporate technology trends (such as AI, IoT, and 5G) into their product innovation roadmap, as well as the difficult topic of why so many B2B products die during the pilot stage. This is a very insightful episode. I cannot wait for you all to tune in and learn just as much as I did from this conversation with Geoffrey Moore!   Episode Details: Crossing the Chasm: How to Effectively Drive Innovation with Geoffrey Moore: “Crossing the chasm is the first move for taking your innovation away from just a technology focus to a customer focus.” — Geoffrey Moore   About Geoffrey Moore: Geoffrey Moore is an author, speaker, and advisor who splits his consulting time between start-up companies in the Wildcat Venture Partners portfolios and established high-tech enterprises, most recently including Salesforce, Microsoft, Autodesk, F5Networks, Gainsight, Google, and Splunk. Moore’s life’s work has focused on the market dynamics surrounding disruptive innovations. His first book, Crossing the Chasm, focuses on the challenges start-up companies face transitioning from early adopting to mainstream customers. It has sold more than a million copies, and its third edition has been revised such that the majority of its examples and case studies reference companies that have come to prominence from the past decade. Moore’s most recent work, Zone to Win, addresses the challenge large enterprises face when embracing disruptive innovations, even when it is in their best interests to do so. It’s time to stop explaining why they don’t and start explaining how they can. This has been the basis of much of his recent consulting.   Topics We Discuss in this Episode: About Geoffrey’s career background and the work he is currently doing today The four organizational zones that companies need to have in order to drive innovation (as outlined in his new book, Zone to Win) Why there is a massive need for organizations to innovate in an accelerated and repeatable way (and the ways that sometimes prevent them from doing so) How Geoffrey has helped companies get leadership to understand that there needs to be an investment in all four of these zones in order to successfully innovate The downsides of being reactive instead of proactive Key lessons in innovation The challenges you’ll face in the process of innovation and how to persevere through them How leaders should incorporate technology trends (such as AI, IoT, and 5G) into their product innovation roadmap Why Crossing the Chasm is the first step in taking innovation from a technology-focus to a customer-focus (and why this is KEY to propelling your business forward) What a “whole product” means and why it is important How to graduate past the early market The difference between horizontal products and vertical products Why you should start with the application dynamic before transitioning to the platform dynamic The key to a successful partnership The difference between a product vs. a solution Where a small company has an advantage over a big company Why so many B2B products die during the pilot stage and Geoffrey’s advice to product leaders   Product Leader Tip of the Week: How to approach innovation in this era of high uncertainty: Don’t try to solve it all with one tool. Start at the beginning with a set of technology-oriented tools that are designed to explore the technology and get familiar with the properties. Simply try and figure out if this new technology affects your customer’s industry and if it is really right for your company or not. Once you cross the chasm, you want to shift the framework from product to solution. As a product leader, you really need to be thinking about where you are as a company and really consider which framework you should be using.   To Learn More About Geoffrey Moore: GeoffreyAMoore.com Crossing the Chasm: Marketing and Selling Disruptive Products to Mainstream Customers, by Geoffrey A. One Mom hack or piece of advice I share with all new mothers-to-be is Mommy’s Bliss gripe water. It’s a panacea for babies’ gas and digestive issues, helps with colic, and instantly soothes them just before bed. Mommy’s Bliss was founded by Roshan Kaderali, a mom and pediatric nurse, midwife and doula who had used Gripe Water to ease infant colic and fussiness for years while working in Scotland. When she moved to the U.S., she was astonished that the “magical” Gripe Water formula she relied on wasn’t available here. So she set out to create Gripe Water and Mommy’s Bliss was born. As the company has grown, their mission hasn’t changed: help moms everywhere bond with their babies by creating effective, trusted products that incorporate wise ingredients from around the world. Now, at the helm of a company is Roshan’s daughter, Yasmin Kaderali. Yasmin Kaderali grew up learning from her mom about the “miracle of life”, surrounded by the realities of childbirth and infant health through her mom’s maternity center. After attending college at the University of California, Davis, Yasmin spent two years living in Central America volunteering with programs focused on women and children’s human rights. Inspired to learn more and make a difference, Yasmin pursued an MPH & MBA and continued this work in the non-profit sector for five years. Her path led her back to Mommy’s Bliss and she is now CEO of the company. Both Roshan and Yasmin share the dream of helping children and women all over the world to live in bliss, with food, good health, respected human rights and peace.

The Bharatiya Janata Party is said to have violated the mandatory 48-hour silence period leading to and during each of the four phases of polling thus far in the Lok Sabha Elections. The BJP, identical to its behaviour in the third phase, had 600 active Facebook ads running even as polling was underway in phase 4 on 29 April. All the ads were targeted at one or, in most cases, multiple states -- like West Bengal, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan -- which went to polls on Monday. The consistently brazen violation of the 48-hour ‘silence period’ has exposed the toothless nature and abject failure of the Code of Ethics for the elections that social media platforms like Facebook had submitted to the EC.

Half of our population goes through this process, but when you find yourself at the threshold of this rite of passage it’s like you’re feeling your way in the dark. We all - men included - need more knowledge about this phase of life and its massive unspoken impact on us. Below is a simple recap of the the interview. This includes the introduction and the questions we asked Miss Earth United States.  Corrin Stellakis was just crowned Miss Earth United States 2016 and will be representing the US at the international Miss Earth Pageant in October. Today she is going to tell us how to make a lasting impression on the judges in every area of competition. - You competed in a multimedia challenge where you were assessed on your quality of posts and engagement with your fan base. How does one stand out on social media and build up a fan base? What is the key to successful posting on social media? - You had 30 seconds to introduce yourself to the judges at the beginning of your interview. What information should be conveyed in those 30 seconds to make a strong opening statement to the judges? - Your interview was panel style. Do you approach panel style interviews differently than one on one? What is the key to connecting with the judges in interview? How do you make them remember you? How should one go about choosing appropriate interview attire? -With all contestants having a plan of action as the new titleholder, how does one stand out? Is there a key to making your goals more memorable in the eyes of the judges? - If contestants are required to wear the same swimsuit, what do you have to do to stand out? In addition to being physically fit, do you feel it is about displaying confidence, energy and charisma on stage? How does one do successfully do that?  - You made a lasting impression on the judges in your evening gown! What is the key to choosing a gown that the judges won’t forget? What is the secret to a memorable performance in evening gown? - You were provided with attire for the runway competition. What do girls need to remember before choosing their runway attire? What things need to be considered since you are not allowed to alter the attire? - Another area you competed in was photogenic. The photogenic portion was based on a submitted photo as well as face-to- face beauty with the judges. What criteria needs to be considered when choosing a winning photo? - You also created a video giving an inside look at you and your commitment to the environment. What did you do to ensure that your video stood out? What do girls need to remember when creating videos that will be scored? -You gave a three minute public speaking presentation on why you would be the best ambassador for Miss Earth. What did you do to stand out in this area of competition? Do you recommend using props? How should one go about deciding what information is included? What is the best method for memorizing and practicing your speech? -You also had to answer an on-stage question. What is the best way to prepare for this when you have no idea what will be asked? If everyone in the top 4 is asked the same question, how can you ensure that your answer stands out among the rest? -How can we find and follow you and the Miss Earth United States system on social media?
