THE MORNING OF THE ASSASSINATION AND IDENTIFYING THE SUSPECT Colleague Paul Gregory. Paul Gregory recounts the morning of November 22, 1963, from the perspective of his father, Pete Gregory, a Russiantranslator who watched President Kennedy speak outside a hotel in Fort Worth. Pete later returned to his office, only to learn shortly after that the President had been shot. Meanwhile, Paul was a student at the University of Oklahoma when a classmate announced the shooting. Gathering around a television with other students, he watched Walter Cronkiteannounce the President's death. When Lee Harvey Oswald appeared on screen as a suspect, Paul shocked his peers by declaring, "I know that guy." He immediately suspected Oswald was guilty and anticipated being contacted by authorities, which occurred the following morning. NUMBER 1

The Flammarion Sphere StrategyGoal: To visualize the expansion of knowledge and the "piercing" of the veil between the known and the unknown. The Known World (Outer Ring): List the facts or skills you currently master. The Unknown (Middle Ring): Identify the specific gaps in your knowledge or the "fog" you are currently facing.Curiosity/The Rip (Inner Ring): Note the specific questions or "hooks" that will pull you through the veil. The Breakthrough (Center): Define the ultimate goal or the "Aha!" moment you are seeking.2. Lukasa Deep Dive (Memory Board)Goal: To use a "tactile" visual field to map complex, non-linear information.Beads/Nodes: Use the small circles to represent specific data points or "keys."The Center Shells: Reserve the center for the most important "High-Order" concepts.Paths: Draw lines between nodes to represent the relationship or "story" that connects the facts.Attributes: Use the legend (People, Events, etc.) to color-code or symbol-code your entries.3. Time Rip Hand PalaceGoal: To turn your hand into a portable, 15-to-25-point Memory Palace. The Segments: Assign one specific "location" to each segment of your fingers (3 per finger). The Rip: Use the "Time Rip" technique to associate a specific chronological event or time-sensitive data point to each joint.Navigation: Practice "walking" through the hand from the pinky base to the thumb tip to ensure the sequence is locked in.4. The King Video ProtocolGoal: To transform passive video watching into active, high-retention learning.Capture (The King's Scribe): Don't transcribe; only record the "Golden Nuggets" or "King-sized" ideas.Translation: Immediately rewrite the concept in your own words (the "Translator" phase). The Decree: Formulate a "decree" or a summary statement that explains how you will apply this knowledge within 24 hours.Recall Check: Close your eyes and mentally rehearse the three biggest takeaways before moving to the next video.

It's New Year's Eve, Wednesday, December 31st, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Ugandan Muslims killed Christian evangelist Muslim extremists killed a Christian evangelist in Uganda earlier this month. Konkona Kasimu was a convert from Islam. He participated in multiple Christian-Muslim dialogues across Uganda. Several Muslims turned to Christ during one of these events on December 12. However, angry Muslims ambushed Kasimu that evening. He later died from the injuries he sustained during the attack. A local pastor told Morning Star News, “Kasimu was killed because of advancing the Kingdom of God. We have lost a great man who was well-versed in both the Quran and the Bible and used that knowledge to witness for Christ to many people.” Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame [the Devil] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Evangelicalism on rise in Catholic Spain Evangelicalism continues to grow in the historically Catholic country of Spain. Evangelical Focus reports that Christianity is the most deeply rooted among minority religions in the country. There are 4,700 evangelical places of worship in Spain this year. That's up from 3,700 places of worship ten years ago. At the same time, secularization is advancing. Over 40% of the population say they do not identify with any religion.  400 sex-selective abortions in United Kingdom Life News reports that new data from the United Kingdom government suggests at least 400 sex-selective abortions have taken place in the country.  The government says killing unborn babies on the basis of their sex is illegal. However, the U.K.'s largest abortion provider is telling women that sex-selective abortion is not illegal.  Catherine Robinson with Right to Life UK noted, “This report is very likely to underestimate the number of sex-selective abortions in the UK. The true scale of sex-selective abortions in the UK, is in all likelihood, far higher than the figures suggest.” America blew up Venezuelan port loading boat with narcotics U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters on Monday that the U.S. carried out a strike on a port facility in Venezuela. He said the facility was being used to load boats with narcotics. If confirmed, this would be the first land-based attack by the U.S. in Venezuela.  CNN and the New York Times report that the CIA carried out the attack with a drone strike. Rising church attendance among Millennials and Gen Z Evangelist Franklin Graham  spoke to Fox News about rising church attendance among younger generations. Data shows that Millennials and Gen Z lead monthly church attendance compared to other generations. Listen to comments from Graham. GRAHAM: “I think Gen Z and Millennials have been fed the lie of socialism. And socialism is basically anti-God. They've been turned off, I think, by this, and they're asking themselves, ‘There's got to be something more.' Yes, they're going to church, but Bible sales are up. So, they're buying Bibles. They're reading for themselves.” Kentucky restored Ten Commandments monument at Capitol Kentucky restored a permanent monument of the Ten Commandments to the state Capitol grounds earlier this month. The monument was put up in 1971. It was moved for construction in the 1980s. The legislature passed a resolution to restore it in 2000. However, a federal appeals court order kept the monument from being displayed until recently. First Liberty was involved in the legal case to restore the monument. Roger Byron, Senior Counsel for First Liberty, said, “We congratulate the people of Kentucky for restoring a part of their history. There is a long tradition of public monuments, like this one, that recognize the unique and important role the Ten Commandments have played in state and national history.” Lutheran Bible Translators delivered new Bible to Ghana tribe And finally, the Komba people of Ghana received their complete Bible last month after years of translation work. Missionary work among the Komba began in the 1950s. In 2005, Lutheran Bible Translators began to translate the New Testament which was completed in 2014. The Old Testament translation began in 2015. Now, they have the entire Bible. One of the translators said, “Reading the Bible has become part of my people. They are reading it day in and day out, and they have taken it upon themselves to do so. They have learned to read, and now they can go out and preach because they can read the Bible, something they were unable to do in the past.” Romans 10:15 says, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, December 31st, in the year of our Lord 2025. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com). A now-former King County Metro Bus driver tells us what passengers should know when they ride the bus. But more importantly, we got some insight into why the 8 in downtown Seattle is so often called the late bus. Plus, we sat down with a Seattle-based translator to discuss her National Book Award-nominated work translating the novel We Computers into English. She said that translating the poetry and the prose in this book was like running a triathlon. We're taking a trip with two local women who helped us get from point A to point B in 2025. ATA offers a way to build communities around these interests in the form of officially recognized Special Interest Groups (SIGs). Similar to divisions, SIGs are a convenient way to provide ATA members the opportunity to build, connect, and grow with other linguists within their professional or non-working niche.   We are joined in this ATA Podcast episode by Robert Sette, CT, a longtime translator who works in many language pairs and is the founder of ATA's SIGs membership benefit. LOST IN TRANSLATOR—There are more than 7,000 languages in the world and there's a good chance that you don't speak or read most of them. Being an English-language speaker is, among other things, a huge privilege in this multilingual world because while it may not be the most widely spoken first language, English is the language that is most widely spoken. There's a chance that you can get by in English almost everywhere. And so English speakers tend not to learn other languages. To their detriment. (And to the resentment of others. But that's another story.)Not all of the world's 7,000 languages are robust enough to support their own media. But guess what—there's a lot of media in this world that isn't created in English. Enter Translator, a magazine of translated journalism and reportage from around the world for, “the open-minded and the language-curious.”And in a world where much of our media is controlled by fewer and fewer people, this kind of wider view of what others are saying and thinking is, perhaps, more necessary than ever. Maybe the only surprising thing about Translator is that it wasn't created … sooner.”—This episode is made possible by our friends at Freeport Press. Thordur Arnason, Global AI GTM Lead at Capgemini Invent, joins SlatorPod to talk about how the consulting giant is embracing language AI through BabelSpeak, its new real-time AI speech translation platform.Thordur explains that the idea emerged from Capgemini's AI Futures Lab while researching multimodal AI. Inspired by Meta's launch of the Seamless M4T model, the team set out to tackle the hard problem of live AI speech translation. He notes that early pilots with DNB Bank, the Norwegian Red Cross, and the Norwegian Police tested BabelSpeak in critical situations — from refugee banking access to emergency communication.Thordur highlights Capgemini's partnerships with Nvidia and Telenor, saying Nvidia provides the AI hardware and models, while Telenor's sovereign AI infrastructure ensures security, GDPR compliance, and data sovereignty. He emphasizes that BabelSpeak's reliability comes not just from AI models but from engineering precision, reducing latency from three seconds to under 300 milliseconds.Thordur discusses Capgemini's exploration of agentic AI, where autonomous systems perceive, reason, and act independently. He describes how the company built an “Agentic Workbench” to help non-technical users experiment with AI agents safely and sees BabelSpeak as a potential tool within larger agentic systems. He concludes that Capgemini is expanding BabelSpeak into a broader suite of language tools, combining secure AI infrastructure with advanced multilingual communication for enterprise and government clients.

How tough was it to pick our "album bookends" this week (that is, albums that have a great first and last track)? You could say that's impossible, that's im-poss-i-ble. But, fortunately, we're everywhere that you are! We're un-alone for this discussion, because (if you couldn't have guessed) we have guitarist/singer/songwriter Steve Barton and drummer Dave Scheff from one of the best American bands of the '80s, Translator! Translator released four excellent albums for 415/Columbia: Heartbeats and Triggers (1982), No Time Like Now (1983), Translator (1985), and Evening of the Harvest (1986). At the end of their initial run, they played a final gig at the Farm in their home base of San Francisco. Captured on a cassette, nearly 40 years later, that incendiary live set is out for the first time on download, LP, or CD as Beyond Today: Live at the Farm San Francisco: 1986. from Liberation Hall. https://translatorlive.bandcamp.com As an added treat for fans, Beyond Today also contains two brand new Translator songs, "These Days to Come" and "With Your Dreams", both wonderfully mixed by Ed Stasium. U.S. Gov’t shutdown @ midnight Wednesday, Filipino earthquake kills 60, Wycliff Bible Translators released 23 complete Bibles & 95 New Testaments

It's Thursday, October 2nd, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Hindus barged into church assaulted pastor and destroyed Bibles Praise God! A court in India recently acquitted a Christian who faced charges under an “anti-conversion” law. The state of Uttarakhand passed the measure in 2018. Pastor Nandan Singh Bisht was the first Christian charged under the law. He faced years of legal battles. However, a judicial magistrate finally cleared the pastor of all charges on September 17th. The case began in 2021. Pastor Bisht gathered with 25 Christians in his house for prayer. In response, local Hindus barged into the house, destroyed their Bibles, and assaulted the pastor. Despite the ordeal, Pastor Bisht told Morning Star News that God was “always faithful and sustained my family's needs. This is the result of answered prayers.” In Matthew 5:11-12, Jesus said, “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven.” Filipino earthquake kills 60 A 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck the Philippines on Tuesday. The powerful quake killed at least 60 people and injured over 150 more. Philippine Red Cross Chairman Richard Gordon told CNN, “Some churches partially collapsed, and some schools had to be evacuated. This [earthquake] was a sleeper. It crept up on us.” Wycliff Bible Translators released 23 complete Bibles & 95 New Testaments Wycliffe Bible Translators released their latest statistics on Tuesday. Over the past year, translators have released 23 complete Bibles and 95 New Testaments. This work brings the whole Bible to nearly 200 million more people. James Poole, the executive director of Wycliffe Bible Translators, stated, “In recent years, we have seen an extraordinary surge in Bible translation. Progress is happening at a pace and scale not witnessed before, and whole communities are beginning to receive the Scriptures far sooner than we could once have imagined.”  Scottish police arrest pro-life grandmother for second time Police in Scotland recently re-arrested a 75-year-old pro-life grandmother for standing outside an abortion mill Rose Docherty simply held a sign that read, “Coercion is a crime, here to talk, only if you want.” It's the second time authorities arrested her under Scotland's buffer zone law.  The U.S. State Department told The Telegraph, “The arrest of Rose Docherty is another egregious example of the tyrannical suppression of free speech happening across Europe.” U.S. Gov't shutdown @ midnight Wednesday The U.S. government entered a shutdown at midnight on Wednesday.  Congressional leaders could not reach a deal to pass a spending bill by the deadline. Republicans are calling for spending cuts, while Democrats are pushing for more social programs and foreign aid. Listen to comments from Vice President J.D. Vance.  VANCE: “To the American people who are watching, the reason your government is shut down at this very minute is because, despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of congressional Republicans and even a few moderate Democrats supported opening the government, the Chuck Schumer/AOC wing of the Democratic Party shut down the government because they said to us, ‘We will open the government, but only if you give billions of dollars of funding for healthcare for illegal aliens.” Previously, the federal government has had 20 funding gaps, resulting in 10 shutdowns since 1976. Contemporary Christian Music ranked 4th and religious stations ranked 2nd Inside Radio released the top 10 radio formats based on current month counts. Religion-formatted stations ranked second, and Contemporary Christian Music ranked fourth. Of the top 10, only Contemporary Christian has welcomed new stations into the format every month over the last year. Religion-formatted stations also saw consistent growth.  Other music formats like Country and Top 40 lost a significant number of stations.   Public & private school students bring their Bible to school today And finally, today is Focus on the Family's annual Bring Your Bible to School Day.  Nearly 1.3 million people and over 10,000 churches participated last year.  Emerson Collins is the Parenting and Youth Program Manager for Focus on the Family. He told The Christian Post, “We're looking at thousands of churches, thousands of schools and 2 million students total participating.” Collins said the celebration is not just about bringing Bibles to school but also talking about Christ. He noted, “That's what we're hoping to create is the curiosity, the connection and the conversation around Christ and the Gospel.” The celebration is inspired this year by James 1:22. The verse says, “Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, October 2nd, in the year of our Lord 2025. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com).
