Lisa Liimatta was running a successful day spa when the financial crisis hit. Her commitment to creating a VIP customer experience and treating her staff with care allowed her business to grow into a 7-figures in revenue in their second year. What Lisa hadn't counted on is that her lack of self-worth and money management skills would leave her in a precarious financial position. She hired a coach, learned from her mistakes, and successfully turned the business around. Her experience led her to become a certified life coach, and co-founded Rise Leadership Circle with her daughter Kaela. Today, Lisa & her daughter support female entrepreneurs through their coaching programs, retreats, and scholarship programs. https://riseleadershipcircle.com/ https://www.instagram.com/riseleadershipcircle/   https://www.tiktok.com/@wakeupwithgratitude Free Gratitude Meditation download: http://bit.ly/GratitudeLoveLetter Visit my shop: https://wakeupwithgratitude.com/ Post-production Audio by Paul Tedeschini https://campsite.bio/juliecmboyer

Someone just lost 20 pounds without counting calories, getting crazy over dieting, restricting oneself, and eating whatever and whenever she wants to. How is this even possible? All we've been told and have done is being wary of what we eat, controlling and counting everything. Hypnosis for permanent weight loss goal is to help you have peace of mind and give you freedom regardless of whether you are dieting or not. Lisa, a former student of Hypnosis, has gone to extraordinary measures and worked on her mindset to be where she is today, 20 pounds less, without even thinking about it.  Permanent weight loss is about just that, losing it over time when we consistently focus on our goal of paying attention to what our body needs and wants, choosing the food we want, whatever that is.  How you just can't lose weight when you say you're okay, but deep inside, something's not aligned. It's about time you get support and take action for your emotional mastery. "Here at Hypnosis for permanent weight loss, we really look at having your life fit into this program. So it's not about diet stuff, telling you what you can't do or what you can do, or that you can weigh yourself or not weigh yourself or clear your pantry or not clear your pantry. We want you to be living your life the way that you normally would so that when you're not in this program, so that when you're out there in real life, so that when you're not on a diet, that you get to have inner peace and freedom all the time."  - Leslie Thornton What you will learn from this episode: 00:26 - Important announcement 02:20 - Sharing a client testimonial - How she was at the end of the rope, but then she took action and support 04:13 - What that choice of doing away with weighing herself on the scale boil down to 05:48 - How Lisa finally weighed herself and lost weight without dieting without even planning to 06:46 - What Lisa's weight loss says about permanent weight loss 07:39 - Hypnosis for permanent weight loss goal 09:27 - Why should you learn to tackle the voice inside you that says, 'what's wrong with you?' 10:20 - How you can't just lose it when you pretend everything's okay internally 11:14 - Face your fear and take action Connect With Leslie Thornton: WeighLossAlbany.com E: Leslie@LeslieMThornton.com Facebook Twitter LinkedIn

Lisa Princic is a trained business strategist and the host of the Scaling Deep Podcast. Lisa's clients turn to her for help with business growth when they are worn out from chasing the next mass marketing trick, but know they need to go beyond word of mouth. She is a results-oriented, deep thinker who has an innate instinct for “seeing” the value of a business and turning that into a pipeline of ideal clients. A staunch believer in business simplicity and intention, Lisa helps her clients accomplish their goals by focusing on what to do AND what to ignore. Here's what we covered on the episode: Lisa's Journey to Becoming a Business Strategist  How Lisa's team reached out to me about having her on the podcast to talk about starting and launching a membership and how it applies to a creative business owner    In 2008 Lisa decided she needed to get out of her day job and because she had a great experience with a life coach at that job, she decided to take life coaching  Within a year of life coaching, Lisa realized she loved working with small business owners and entrepreneurs Lisa explains business coaching can get tricky because you can be a trained coach but not have business experience, or vice versa and says coaching is about empowering people to make their own decisions  In 2015, Lisa came across Tara McMullin who was running a business strategy training program, she took it and became a business strategist Around 2018, Lisa decided she needed to go in fully and had a great experience getting on the networking outreach plan where she started connecting with people, which helped her feel more validated about what her true value was, and what her skill sets were  Shortly after, Lisa started her podcast which continued her networking and shares that from the beginning of 2019 to now, her business has really started to grow  The Membership Niche + Membership Models   Last fall, Lisa figured out that the membership niche was one she could dive into even further to help make herself more clear, easily referred and understood One area Lisa focuses on is helping people design their ideal membership and grow it along with helping her non-membership business owners Lisa's unique positioning even within the membership market is that she doesn't care about tactics and says you should focus on your best skill set or asset to focus your membership around The fears that surround memberships and how knowing your superpower can help combat those fears  Lisa explains the 3 main focuses of models when you're in the service business; the education and training model, the community model and the coaching model, which is the one she leans towards as a strategist    The first membership Lisa started was a membership for past clients and says they do 3 calls a month, which is easy for her and suggests sticking to one core thing, then adding onto it once it becomes more natural for you to help take the overwhelm out of it  How you should really pay attention to the customer journey/transformation and look at your membership like a program Lisa says choosing your technology and platform should be based on the kind of model you pick for your membership and says there is no perfect solution so you should focus on the one platform that will fit you best  Don't forget, you aren't locked in just because you have a month to month membership, Lisa says you can learn and change things as you go and know that it probably won't be perfect right from the start and doesn't need to be Lisa explains that a warm-up group/model is a group that might have a lower price range and says they're the first group you bring in to learn about you and sell to What Lisa Offers in Her Business  How Lisa's uses a coaching model, where she works with people in business design intensives, helps sort out their business model so they know what they need to do and all they need to do is implement — she keeps people on track and offers follow-up support  What Lisa loves offering in her business is VIP design days so she can help clients sort out their business model, she also offers her follow-up membership, and just launched her Profitable Membership Program for women led membership business owners Lisa shares good retention strategies that you can use for memberships, like different payment options, interviewing your members and getting clear on your customer client transformation How to set up boundaries within your membership and how Lisa is going to run her Profitable Membership a little like a course in terms of people getting hands on support and having a roadmap to work through   When entering into a membership it can be confusing where to start, which is why Lisa reminds us that people need guidance and that you need to have some intention for them because if people don't know what to do, they won't stay  Connect with Lisa on Instagram, check out her podcast, send her an email at lisa@scalingdeep.com and if you're into memberships, get her free training on her website  Lisa's podcast is called Scaling Deep and is all about helping online business owners learn how to grow; they go behind the scenes on what it really takes instead of following all the mass marketing tactics     Links mentioned: Scaling Deep Podcast   Profitable Membership Program Lisa's Website - Scaling Deep    Connect with Lisa on Instagram    Lisa's Free Membership Training   Like what you heard?  Click here to subscribe + leave a review on iTunes. Lisa candidly opens up about her work, her clients and where she’s trying to go. This episode was the first time Lisa and I met, and as you’ll hear, we instantly became BFFs. Through the strategy session we explored her funnel, got clarity around exactly what Lisa does for her clients and came up with a game plan for how to make the most of the next 90 days. What Lisa discovered is that marketing isn’t a step-by-step process that you’re either getting right or wrong. It’s a fluid plan that YOU craft to fit your business style and revenue goals.

Science Camp was held over the weekend of Feb 19-21. Dominique and I didn’t want it to end so we invited one of the participants, Lisa Clifton Bumpass to come share an afternoon’s conversation with us. Lisa is a dog trainer turned zoo consultant. She’s been a regular attendee at the horse clinics I give in Half Moon Bay CA. What Lisa learns from the horses she takes back to the teams she works with in zoos. It is so much fun to think that the work we’re doing with horses is helping giraffes and alligators and other exotic animals to live more comfortable lives. In Part 1 of our conversation we talked about constructional training. This week we begin with the difference between extinguishing and abolishing a behavior. From there I ask Lisa to describe the team building she does in her consulting work. We got to watch a beautiful example of this at the beginning of Science Camp. One of the participants, Kyle Ketzel, works at the San Francisco zoo. He shared with us a video of one of the animals in his care. Since it’s a zoo, you might expect that it would be a video of a giraffe or an elephant, but no. The animal Kyle wanted us to see is Slider, a steer who lives in the children’s zoo. After the fall Science Camp Kyle learned he had only two weeks to prepare Slider for foot care. If the procedure couldn’t be done safely with Slider cooperating calmly throughout, he would need to be sedated. Kyle described Slider’s previous history with having his feet trimmed as a wrestling match, so Slider’s association with foot care was anything but positive. But what we saw was a relaxed animal who put his own foot up on the trimming block and who stood calmly participating in the procedure. Three people were involved in the foot trim. Kyle was at Slider’s head so he was the one in charge of reinforcing Slider. A second keeper was kneeling by Slider’s bent knee. She was helping to steady his leg, but even more than that, she was monitoring Slider’s pulse. A third person was trimming his hooves. They were all communicating with one another and with Slider. It was a beautiful example of great team work and great training. I wanted to Lisa to describe the team building work that she does so that is primarily what we talked about in this week’s episode.

This month’s roundtable focuses on periodontitis, a disease that more than half of Americans have! To get the full scoop, Andrew chatted with not one, not two, but FOUR perio educators.   Eva Ramsey is an assistant professor at Tennessee Wesleyan University and faculty for AndyRDH. Marie Richey is a full-time educator and assistant professor at Shawnee State University. Amanda Mitchell is a faculty member at Student RDH and who teaches for South College in Nashville. Lisa Bilich is the department chair at Eastern Washington University and has taught perio for 15 years. In this episode, our panel delves into their personal reasons for working in perio, discuss the way generational differences impact lesson plans, and ask the vital question: is House, MD still cool?     EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS:   Interview starts: 5:42   - Why our panellists fell in love with perio.   - The reason Eva views her students as “disease detectives.”   - How do the guests get their students—as well as more skeptical professionals—invested in perio?   - What Lisa does to make perio education more “real” for her students.   - The importance of recognizing the difference of experience among faculty members and clinicians.   - How the COVID pandemic has made it difficult for current perio students to get the same hands-on experience as their predecessors.   - What the guests want to be the ultimate outcome(s) for their lessons.   - How students can more effectively study for perio courses.       QUOTES:   “Perio is the path where science and dentistry kinda merge.”   “We’re making a bigger difference than just when we see our only patients.”   “We don’t clean teeth; we are preventative health care specialists.”   “It’s not just about the test; it’s about having to know I can stop the process by what I do.”   “I think it’s so important to learn along with our students and to be okay with not knowing everything.”   “Not every student learns the same way.” LINKS:   A Tale of Two Hygienists homepage - https://ataleoftwohygienists.com/     AToTH on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/aTaleOfTwoHygienists/     AToTH on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/ataleoftwohygienists     AToTH on LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/atoth/?originalSubdomain=ca

Our conversation with Lisa began with a discussion of constructional; training - one of the main topics of Science Camp. That developed into a consideration of whose needs are being met in a training plan. Just because we are using positive reinforcement doesn’t mean the needs of the learner are being met. The overall training goals may still revolve around meeting our needs. Or we can swing the pendulum the other way so everything is centered around meeting our learner’s needs - often at the expense of our own well being. Or we can be truly constructional and meet the needs of everyone. As always, balance is everything. Good constructional training helps us to consider what each member of a training partnership needs to get from the interaction.

Taking an unusual path to the travel and tourism industry, Lisa’s background is in marketing and operations. Working for a large corporation in product marketing and then working as an Executive Director for a technology association set the groundwork for her current role as Executive Director for Travel Alliance Partners, a corporation owned by Tour Operators. Lisa leads the management team in developing operational and marketing strategies to help Travel Alliance Partners strengthen their partnerships, increase their business and expand their company tour portfolios. The past year has found Lisa and her team reimagining how they can deliver a quality travel industry conference to TAP’s audience of industry suppliers. Destination on the Left is joined by Lisa Doerner, Executive Director for Travel Alliance Partners. On our podcast, Lisa joins us to talk about how TAP has been supporting its tour operators and PPTPs throughout the pandemic. She also discusses the creativity and collaboration behind the live event her team is producing in 2021, as well as how it will ignite travel this year and beyond. TAP’s Coopetition Model As the travel and tourism industry starts to return from the pandemic, collaboration is a critical component of recovery. TAP has always been way ahead of its time with innovation and collaboration, as they have been a focus since the organization’s inception in 2001. Their original business model was designed to bring competitors together so that everyone’s business could grow. That mode of operation continues today as the 15-25 tour operators in TAP buy and sell each other’s products and services to generate more tourism dollars for everyone. Going Virtual Since TAP is a company of tour operators, many of its team members saw departures for 2020 halt entirely. As they manage rebookings and try to stay afloat until travel fully reopens again, TAP has done everything in its power to support them. Early on, Lisa made the decision to host one of the travel industry’s first virtual events. TAP brought together a broad spectrum of tour operators and the PPTPs to create a platform through which they could continue to develop relationships. It was met with some resistance at first, but virtual vents are now the gold standard for tourism professionals in all kinds of verticals. TAP’s approach to collaboration and innovation has helped many tour operators navigate the challenges of the pandemic, and there is a lot we can learn from it. The history of Georgian wines can be traced back 8000 years but the modern Georgian wine industry its fairly young in the grand scheme of the world’s wines. It was only in the 80s when the Georgia opened up to western countries that their wines became influenced by modern techniques. My guest Lisa Granik, author of Georgia a Winemaking Country, describes the history and the regions of the country. A striking quote from Lisa’s book is - ‘the number of producers increased by double digits in the time writing the book’. This highlights that the country is rapidly changing with a greater global interest in their wines thanks to their unique techniques and grape variety. Now is a perfect time to learn about the regions in more depth. In this episode we discussed: The major native grapes (did you know there are more than 500 of them?!); the ancient amphoras called Qvevri or Churi, as I discovered while speaking to Lisa: Churi are Qvervri of west Georgia; What Lisa thinks is a great wine for those want to start exploring the country: lastly why Georgian grapes may play a bigger role in the years to come with the warming of the earth. As promised on the show here are the names of the grapes discussed:Saperavi produces rich dark red wines suitable for extended aging - Saperavi is one of the essential grapes used in Georgian red wines.OjaleshiOjaleshi is grown on the mountain slopes above the banks of the Tskhenistskali River, particularly in the Samegrelo region of Western Georgia.RkatsiteliRkatsiteli is responsible for both high-volume, good value whites, and high-quality examples – especially those fermented on the skins in qvevri. Rkatsiteli grapes have great acidity and good body. It’s produced in both traditional Georgian style and with European vinification methodsTsolikouri is the white grape of western Georgia. Pronounced tso-li-ko-u-ri, Imereti’s humidity makes it a challenging area for many grapes, but Tsolikouri is relatively thick-skinned which helps it to resist fungal diseases. Her new book tells the amazing story behind the creation of the Jog bra, an entrepreneurial victory for which she will be inducted into The National Inventors Hall of Fame in May 2020. As an inventor, Lisa is not a one-hit-wonder. In addition to inventing the sports bra in 1977, she patented a medical garment for breast cancer survivors in 2000. Unleash the Girls: The Untold Story of the Invention of the Sports Bra and How it Changed The World (and Me) takes us back to 1977 when women, whether they wanted to go to the gym, compete in sports, or jog had no protection against bouncing, chafing, sweaty breasts.  Lisa’s story takes us through the many challenges, ups and downs, and successes of launching a business by women for women in an era and an industry dominated by men. What Lisa initially thought might be a small mail-order business took off like wildfire across the country. Her only formal business education was a one-year program at the Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School.  In 1991, she joined the Board of Directors of the Epilepsy Foundation, becoming their first board member with Epilepsy. Her book is the story of not just an invention used by millions of women and girls, but how it changed the world – and along the way, changed Lisa, too.

Most people who chase their dreams don’t aspire to build a company. We all know that an endeavor of that magnitude takes a huge commitment of your time and energy. Making a career out of your passion is a rare achievement that few are fortunate enough to do. Today’s guest shares a candid behind-the-scenes look at the challenges and successes in her journey to entrepreneurship.  Lisa Pongrass is the founder and CEO of Canvas & Hyde, a luxury handbag company based in Brooklyn, New York. An acclaimed interior designer and fashion stylist in her Australian homeland, Lisa has over twenty years’ experience that has propelled her to the forefront of fashion and beauty on the international stage. In 2006, Lisa was named one of Harper’s Bazaar’s 100 Best-Dressed Australians, recognized for her classic style, an element that has been the mainstay of her direction and inspiration for Canvas & Hyde. With the rise of digitally trend-driven “it” bags of the moment dominating the fashion world, Lisa sought to create her own line of “anti-it bags” through Canvas & Hyde. With an intrinsic love of design and fashion, she focused on creating a brand that emphasized quality craftsmanship and a minimal urban aesthetic. Although Lisa was at the forefront of the fashion industry in Australia, she immersed herself in a new challenge--an intense education of the intricacies of the manufacturing process. To assure luxurious quality control, Lisa delved into researching and learning the craft of luxury handbag construction for over a year. Determined to source the finest quality and sustainable materials in partnership with environmentally responsible factories, Lisa collaborated with factories in Italy and the US. With her strong vision and meticulous research, Canvas & Hyde was born.  A lifelong love for fashion How many people get to turn their passion into a company and career? For Lisa, her nerdy and obsessive love for fashion was never what she thought her career would involve. After working in interior design for about ten years, she made the shift into the connected field of designing handbags. It was important to her to start her own business and give birth to a meaningful brand, which she calls a “dream come true.” Launching out held a certain degree of uncertainty because there were so many things she didn’t know about the business. Lisa says, “As a solo entrepreneur, I feel like I have one pizza and ten children to feed.”  TWEET: “As a solo entrepreneur, I feel like I have one pizza and ten children to feed.” @canvasandhyde #chasingdreams Handling the rough patches How do you handle life’s rough patches? Lisa says that challenges come up constantly when you run your own business. Being kind to yourself is essential. Lisa rewards herself with a nice hot bath to relax at the end of the day. She realizes that what she’s doing isn’t a matter of life and death, like the challenges many people around the world are facing each day. Another important aspect in handling challenges is not to take yourself too seriously. Lisa likes to take a “big picture” view in being grateful for the opportunities. TWEET: “Being kind to yourself is essential.” @canvasandhyde #chasingdreams Balancing work and life Don’t we hear a lot about “work-life balance”? Is there really such a thing? As a single mom for four years, Lisa found it difficult to juggle the demands of motherhood with building a brand, and she gave up sleep at times to make it work. As an empty-nester now, Lisa finds the balance even more difficult because she’s on her own to create the balance. Sticking to a schedule to eat and sleep well is harder to do. It’s rewarding to achieve each milestone of success, whether a large or small one because you know you’ve done it for yourself. Lisa says that success is the greatest high in the world and is what propels her to get up the next day.  TWEET: “Success is the greatest high in the world.” @canvasandhyde #chasingdreams OUTLINE OF THIS EPISODE: [1:10] Young Lisa and her dreams [3:35] An avenue of uncertainty [6:42] What Lisa would have done differently [8:49] How she knew it was time to hire more people [10:07] What surprised Lisa on her journey [13:40] What networking is all about [14:46] Handling challenges as they come [17:45] Balancing work and life [22:32] Goals vs. journey [25:48] When you’re struggling to pivot [27:33] It’s never too late [30:11] Get to know Lisa better RESOURCES MENTIONED Lisa on Facebook Lisa on Twitter Lisa on Instagram Lisa on LinkedIn Lisa’s Website   TWEETS YOU CAN USE: It surprises me every day how much people want me to succeed. @canvasandhyde #chasingdreams Knowing one’s weakness is a strength. @canvasandhyde #chasingdreams At the time I considered launching my business, I thought, “How difficult can it be?” @canvasandhyde #chasingdreams It’s important to surround yourself with people who are smarter than you. @canvasandhyde #chasingdreams

" I allowed my previous work experience in the corporate world to become a platform, from which I could move into developing my training brand…" Step off slowly Before you ‘jump’ into starting your training business, it’s important to consider the reasons why you want to make this bold and ambitious move. Some people dislike the constraints of a ‘j-o-b’ and feel that taking the leap into starting their own training brand will turn everything around. So, before you feel tempted to ‘dive-in’, here are 6 basic questions to ask yourself: Are there benefits, which you are leaving behind and can you live without them? Do you really have to make a ‘break’ now or could you gently ‘transition’ instead? What would a strategic, clever (slow) exit plan from your corporate role look like? What is the ethical way to leverage your existing job to prepare you for success? What will you do to you keep your current professional relationships intact? Which skills can you ‘take’ with you or leverage to get your first pieces of work?   As Lisa tells us: “I think it’s really important, that if you have spent a long time in a particular field and have been quite successful in that field, that you ‘leverage’ it….” “Don’t just say ‘oh no, I don’t want to do that anymore because I am a coach now or I am a trainer now….”  “Well, actually, you can train in the things that you did really well and this allows people to see you in the same area…”   The key point is to ‘step-off’ on your time and to your agenda… not to ‘jump off’ or to be pushed out on the basis of some one else’s agenda. Make sense? Now listen to the full episode to learn more. Biggest takeaways for you today:  How working in marketing gave Lisa the skills to start her training brand How you can leave your current role in a way that sets you up for success How you can get onto the panel of training providers in corporate Why going to networking events is absolutely essential for you How Lisa has used MBSR in her portfolio of training services Why you need to build a network of other trainers to help you What Lisa learns from going to sales meetings with prospects How Lisa has survived the difficult years of starting her business Now listen to the rest of the episode to get the rest! “Weight and food have kept you trapped in a life you don’t love. It’s time to finally change your habits and behaviors, and break all patterns and conditioning around food and eating. It’s time to love yourself and love your life!” Those are the words of Dr. Mowll’s guest today — Nutritionist Lisa Goldberg.   Lisa received a Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University. She believes in eating real — not processed — foods. She also believes in ‘everything in moderation’ and not being deprived or counting points and calories. She says, “When you begin to create an awareness of what your habits and behaviors are around food you can ‘change your brain’ and your relationship with food. You will be able to stop that negative and self-sabotaging voice in your head that keeps you from reaching your goals and maintaining your ideal weight.” Her goal is to help people make long-term changes and not just give them quick fixes or crash diets. She teaches you how to make the right food choices to help you lose the weight for good.   In today’s interview, Lisa and Dr. Mowll discuss how mindset and behavior change are essential to sustainable weight loss, how to deal with night-time eating habits in a healthy way, the importance of enjoying the food you’re eating and finding recipes that excite you, and ideas for rewarding yourself for positive behaviour and reaching your goals. She also reveals the main reason why people gain weight back after they lose it on a diet (and how to solve that problem), the importance of keeping a food journal, and describes the best ways to address negative self-talk and creating awareness around the messaging you’re sharing with yourself.   Key Takeaways: [:58] All about Dr. Mowll’s guest today, Lisa Goldberg. Atlanta native Lisa Binderow never thought she'd love being an entrepreneur, but was drawn to the analytical side of it -- finding problems and coming up with creative solutions. Such was the path for Lisa -- who now lives with her husband and soon-to-come baby in New York -- in 2014, when her cropped leggings on the way to teach yoga class just weren't enough, and the existing solutions of itchy, acrylic leg warmers just weren't cutting it. Problem found.   The solution? nicepipes, Lisa's invention of arm and leg warmers that are soft, comfortable, stretchy and perfect for fitness fanatics, plus they protect you from the cold. Ever since Lisa wore her first few samples to yoga classes and other teachers coveted her nicepipes, the brand has been heating up ever since -- and most recently became a hot topic when Lisa made a memorable appearance on an episode of ABC's Shark Tank. On this episode of the Support is Sexy podcast, Lisa talks about finding the courage to dive into the Shark Tank, and the power of daring greatly, knowing when it's time to move on and being brave enough to turn down what might seem like an opportunity of a lifetime.    On this episode you'll learn:How to leave that thing that doesn't make you happy, even if what's next isn't perfect. How to get over the fear of changing course.First steps to take when you have a new product idea. How to take inspired action. Why people are your greatest resource.Remembering that it's important to know what you want and what you DON'T want. For every big YES there may be 5 no's, but you have keep going. How to walk away from what may seem like a deal of a lifetime.Being focused on what matters most to you, your life and your business. How to get comfortable trusting your gut. What Lisa learned about herself and the kind of business she wants for Nice Pipes after Shark Tank (and the book that prepared her for her appearance). Why you have to surround yourself with people who support you and allow you to be vulnerable.  Subscribe to Support is Sexy podcast on iTunes or on Stitcher Radio! Life on Fire TV (Audio) – Online Business Coaching With Nick Unsworth

Hey hey! Welcome to episode 175 of Life on Fire. If you’re like many entrepreneurs and solopreneurs you have a vision for your business - but you hate selling! But you also know sales are important: without them you don’t have a business. Here to share an authentic way to sell, without being pushy or sleazy, is Lisa Sasevich. Lisa is known as the Queen of Sales Conversions, and runs a multi-million dollar business that’s been ranked on Inc.’s list of the top 500 fastest growing privately-owned businesses! She got there by using what she has coined as The Invisible Close; today she shares the framework and positioning for that close on this episode. In this episode you’ll hear:   What Lisa did to become the queen of sales conversion. (14:00) If she lost it all what would she do to get started? (17:20) What are the 3 ways people find you? (25:15) Why speaking for free is so beneficial. (29:30) Why you're helping your competition if you aren't making your offer. (46:05) And so much more!   On this show Lisa lays out what she calls “the invisible close”, including the 3 ways people find you and the mechanics of making your irresistible offer. The first thing to know when creating your offer and making the close is that you have all the expertise you need. You don’t need to earn more degrees, or learn anything else. Be ready and step up with what you’ve got right now. By adding structure to your knowledge you will be fully prepared to share your message with more people, and grow your clients and increase your revenue. At the heart of everything is your irresistible offer. In a moment we’ll break down the mechanics of making that offer but first you need to know the 3 ways people can find you and hear your offer. The three ways are networking, speaking and online promotion. Networking means meeting more people, connecting with others and sharing what you do. Speaking can be everything from live to virtual. So getting on stage, giving interviews on podcasts, radio shows, virtual summits and telesummits all fall in this category. Online promotion delivery is email campaigns, Facebook and other social media. If Lisa had to pick one way to deliver a message it would be speaking. As long as you’re prepared ahead of time with what you’re talking about there are lots of speaking opportunities. Lisa started with chamber of commerce groups. You can start there, you can search for meet up groups or other organizations in your area - lots of people are looking for speakers! And this is where you assume your throne. As she shares on this episode today no one is going to discover you, you have to assume your throne. By speaking to groups and positioning yourself as the expert on your topic - which you are - you are assuming your throne. As you speak to various groups you will find your target audience, you will get clear on your brand and you will hone your signature talk. The final component of this is your irresistible offer. Ask yourself what is the offer you want to make? Once you know that then you can create these 3 pieces of the offer: 1. The main dish. This is the main way you will deliver the transformation you are promising. Will it be coaching calls? Will it be an online video course or a weekend workshop? Whatever it is spend about 10% of your time sharing the delivery mechanism, and 90% of your time talking about the transformation it will provide. 2. Bonuses. There is an old school model that most of us have seen where there are thousands of dollars of bonuses thrown in to the main offer. While that may work in some arenas still Lisa recommends offering a few bonuses that are tightly-related to the main offer. 3. Include a limiter. A rookie mistake most people make is to forget this last piece of the offer puzzle: include a limiter. There are two types of limiters: time and quantity. You can give a certain time limit on the pricing of your offer, or even your entire offer. Or you can make the make the offer only available to a certain number of people. Either of these limiters will help make your offer an irresistible one! Also on today’s episode Lisa expands on how the systems she uses are designed for heart-centered entrepreneurs, and why they’ve been so successful. You’ll also hear the story of how she started speaking for free and soon made $10k in 90 minutes at one of her presentations! Listen in for all of and more on this edition of Life on Fire. Lisa A. Phillips knows first-hand how love can make us do some crazy things. The summer she turned 30, she found herself in the throes of romantic obsession with a man who didn’t love her back. From there, Lisa’s personality took a dark turn into becoming someone she didn’t recognize. She would talk about him frequently, call him compulsively, and one day snuck into his apartment building to be met with a moment and a confrontation that changed her life forever. Lisa talks about her book Unrequited: Women and Romantic Obsession. Through conversations and interviews with dozens of women who had been through similar experiences before, she pulled on her skills and years of experience as a journalist to dig deep into an investigation of the nature of unrequited love, romantic obsession, and stalking. Lisa (lisaaphillips.com) is a journalism professor at SUNY New Paltz and a former radio reporter. Her own story of unrequited love and romantic obsession was featured in the New York Times Modern Love column, and she has contributed stories to NPR, The Boston Globe, Cosmopolitan, and Psychology Today. She’s the recipient of several regional Edward R. Murrow awards and a New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault Media Excellence Award. We’re extremely proud to have her as the very first guest on the School of Psych podcast. Listen to today’s episode to find out more about: -What Lisa learns from her own close encounter with romantic obsession. -How do I know if someone’s crossed the line between courtship and stalking? -How can we get over unrequited love or move forward when someone doesn’t love us back? -What is the transformational power of unrequited love, and can we use it for positive growth?
