Interview with Ofer Vicus, Co-Founder & CEO, and Eric Appelman, CRO of Aduro Clean Technologies Inc.Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/aduro-clean-technologies-act-recycling-plastics-that-others-dont-2915Recording date: 24th June 2024Aduro Clean Technologies (TSXV: ACT) is positioning itself as a key player in the rapidly evolving fields of plastic recycling and heavy oil upgrading. The company's innovative Hydrochemolytic™ technology platform offers a promising solution to some of the most pressing challenges in waste management and resource utilization, potentially disrupting multi-billion dollar markets. At the core of Aduro's value proposition is its ability to efficiently process low-value materials into higher-value products. The company's technology boasts several significant advantages over conventional methods, including lower energy requirements, higher tolerance for contaminants, and reduced need for pre-sorting or post-treatment. These features could translate into substantial cost savings and operational efficiencies for adopters of the technology.CEO Ofer Vicus emphasizes the flexibility of their approach: "We basically can build smaller, cheaper units that can do higher value of product. It's less picky, so we have more options to deal with solutions rather than just to normalize something that is already there." This adaptability positions Aduro to address a wide range of market needs across the recycling and petrochemical industries. The company is pursuing a licensing business model, which allows for rapid scalability without the need for significant capital expenditures on plant construction. This strategy could potentially lead to high-margin revenue streams as the technology gains adoption. Aduro has developed a structured customer engagement program to guide potential clients through the process of evaluating and adopting their technology, providing multiple opportunities for revenue generation and relationship building.Aduro's intellectual property portfolio, currently consisting of eight granted patents and one pending in the United States, provides a strong foundation for protecting its innovations and creating barriers to entry. The management team, led by industry veterans with significant technical and commercial experience, has expressed a commitment to further expanding this IP portfolio. The global plastic recycling market alone is projected to reach $76.9 billion by 2028, growing at a CAGR of 8.5% from 2021 to 2028. This substantial market opportunity, combined with increasing regulatory pressures and corporate commitments to sustainability, creates a favorable environment for Aduro's technology. However, investors should be aware that Aduro is still in the pre-revenue stage and faces the typical risks associated with commercializing new technologies. The company will need to successfully navigate the challenges of scaling up from laboratory and pilot demonstrations to full commercial implementation. Additionally, convincing large, established companies to adopt new technologies can be a slow process, and Aduro may face competition from other innovative solutions in development.Near-term milestones for the company include converting more technology evaluators to collaborators, developing a semi-commercial unit, and expanding their patent portfolio. Successful achievement of these objectives could serve as catalysts for increased investor interest and potential value creation. For investors seeking exposure to the growing trends of sustainability and circular economy practices, Aduro Clean Technologies offers an intriguing opportunity. The company's innovative technology, targeting large and growing markets, combined with its scalable business model and experienced management team, positions it well for potential growth. However, as with any early-stage technology investment, careful due diligence and ongoing monitoring of progress towards key milestones is essential.—View Aduro Clean Technologies' company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/aduro-clean-technologiesSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Brian shared: "There is so much oil in place on the pools that Prospera already has."..."Putting in a pilot, if it works, with polymer flooding could actually double or triple or quadruple the reserves easily." Brian is a seasoned oil industry expert with 47 years of experience. Notably, Brian spent 10 years as VP Exploration at Tundra Oil and Gas Ltd and helped grow their production from 4,000 bbls/d to 28,000 bbls/d light oil mainly in Manitoba. Prospera Energy has commenced its 18 well summer drill program. The company aims, in the next 2-3 years, to reduce production costs to possibly under C$20/barrel and achieve 10,000+ boepd by optimizing current assets and through strategic acquisitions. The company has about 400 million barrels of oil in place. And Prospera's core assets in Saskatchewan and Alberta had previously, during peak oil times when they were being fully developed by multinational oil companies, already saw (without EOR) production of over 10,000 boepd. Back in April 2021, I recorded a series of interviews with the children of some of my friends to get their impression of remote learning during the time of the COVID-19 Pandemic.  At the same time, vaccines were being rolled out and there was a greater sense of confidence that going back to in person learning was safer and less risky.  So I asked two 10 year olds (Lily and Payton) and one 16 year old (Thomas) what their impressions were of remote learning and what they might be apprehensive of going back to in person. And then a funny thing happened.  My computer died and I thought these recordings were gone.  But somehow they reappeared from my cloud drive and I decided to use the recordings in an episode and also follow up after about 9 months later to see how school was going for some of them.  Truly fascinating to learn what their fears were from before and how they mirror or contrast the current situation in January 2022 with the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in the country. Canale Telegram: https://t.me/da0a42Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/da0a42/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/da0a42/Strava: https://www.strava.com/athletes/37970087Sito: https://da0a42.home.blogOppure contattami!https://da0a42.home.blog/contatti/----------------------Music credits: Feeling of Sunlight by Danosongs - https://danosongs.com

Natalie started her career at Shine in 2003 before launching Aduro in 2012. Aduro has a turnover of £1m and employs 10 people. It specialises in consumer focused public relations work.[00:00:54] Why Natalie describes Aduro as the “Ronseal of PR”.[00:02:56] Why Natalie believes it is possible to isolate the impact of PR in a consumer market where there are numerous promotional channels. [00:03:52] How working with entrepreneurs showed Natalie that if she could demonstrate the impact of PR on the entrepreneurs’ businesses, their businesses would grow and they would spend more on PR. [00:05:59] How Aduro has developed a model where it believes it can confidently point to its sales impact.[00:07:08] Why internally there is a need for PR to be able to define its cost per acquisition.[00:08:21] Why clients should own their evaluation and measurement insight, rather than farming the whole thing out to agencies.[00:09:15] How Aduro, as a consumer agency, is asking questions of clients’ evaluation methods that the clients haven't been asked before. [00:11:55] Why Natalie never, never set out to establish her own agency.[00:12:21] Why launching Aduro threw up an opportunity for creating flexible working and a genuine balance for Natalie.[00:13:04] Why Rachel Bell has a stake in Aduro.[00:13:41] Why Natalie started Aduro whilst living in Shropshire.[00:15:15] Why Natalie regards Aduro's growth as the "tortoise to some people's hare" but the slow and steady approach has worked for her. [00:15:19] Why setting up Aduro has enabled Natalie to "grow a business around having two children". [00:16:07] Why Natalie going on maternity leave early on in Aduro's "life" has meant that not everything in the business needs to flow through her. [00:16:34] What was it about having Rachel Bell as a mentor that helped Natalie grow the business?[00:17:24] How having a mentor has helped Natalie with things like the importance of business planning, networking, structure and having a five-year plan.[00:17:43] Why Natalie believes having a financial director has been one of the most important things in the progression of Aduro.[00:19:34] Why Natalie wouldn't have launched Aduro without Rachel Bell. [00:21:01] What flexible working means – because it's become quite a broad term. [00:23:28] What are the drawbacks of flexible working?[00:25:25] Can you achieve as good a result for the client if the team is working flexibly? [00:27:54] How does an agency begin the process of making flexible working work? [00:28:00] Why, for flexible working to work in a firm, you need some of the key senior people in the business to work flexibly. [00:28:42] Does Natalie believe PR still has a long working hours problem? [00:29:12] Why Natalie believes that it's now unacceptable for PR firms to have a long hours culture. [00:29:44] Why, from a timesheet perspective, agencies should be resourced at approximately 60-70% of employees time, anything more than that is not realistic and will result in staff working overtime.[00:31:41] Why PR firms need to get better at saying no to clients. [00:33:03] Why overservicing has decreased as the standard of PR work has increased.[00:33:59] Whether PR has a mental health issue greater than other elements of society. [00:36:21] Why Aduro has resigned from a number of accounts.[00:36:55] The importance of a genuinely positive client relationship where you can grow together.[00:40:06] Why does Natalie think there are co
