Di Westaway is the founder of Coastrek and Wild Women on Top, and she has had the most fabulous career building up these businesses - topped off with many well-deserved accolades like an Order of Australia medal for services to women's health, fitness and charity services. It was so much fun to chat with Di about how her impulsive decision to attempt to climb South America's highest peak, Mount Aconcagua, even when she'd never done anything remotely like it before, set off a chain reaction leading to decades of fascinating travels and influencing and inspiring countless people to look after themselves more and take on new challenges. During our chat we move from the "big fail" of Mount Aconcagua through some other favourite hiking trips around the world, Di's world record for the highest handstand, a scary night on Mount Rinjani in Indonesia (and a story she said she's never told anyone publicly!!!), and through to the success of Coastrek today in getting thousands of people out there hiking the most beautiful parts of Australia and raising millions of dollars for worthwhile charities like Beyond Blue and the Fred Hollows Foundation.
This week on Process, we sit down with Shelby Van Zwol, the founder of Chain Social, who went from running a one-woman agency out of her bedroom to leading one of Australia's most sought-after social media companies — with 22 team members and global clients under her belt.Shelby opens up about the behind-the-scenes realities of entrepreneurship: what it really takes to scale an agency, the emotional work of letting go to grow, and why having a clear process is her secret weapon. We talk about:The systems she put in place to scale smoothlyWhy paid ads and email still matter more than you thinkBuilding a standout team culture in a sea of samenessThe mental shifts required to become a founder, not just a freelancerWhy top-of-funnel content is non-negotiable in 2025And how she's thinking about equity, PR, and long-term brand buildingWhether you're a creative, founder, or side-hustler scaling fast — Shelby's story is full of golden lessons (and honest moments) that will inspire you to push past your current ceiling. This episode is sponsored by the Chain Academy. This special episode of the Rich Mind Podcast explores how our greatest pain points can become the powerful fuel for life-altering transformation. Randy is joined by a special guest, his daughter Adrienne, who shares a courageous and deeply personal story of leaving a long-term, controlling relationship that was detrimental to her mental and physical health. Adrienne walks through the process of losing her sense of self, the "straw that broke the camel's back" moment, and the immense courage it took to make the decision to leave, even without having all the answers. This conversation is an inspirational masterclass on recognizing when you're stuck, finding the strength to take the first step, and the incredible growth and happiness that waits on the other side of your biggest challenges. Key Takeaways: Your biggest pain point doesn't have to be a roadblock; it can be the catalyst you need to make a necessary change. People-pleasing and self-sacrificing can lead to losing your own identity and accepting treatment you don't deserve. The moment of decision is often sparked by a seemingly small event—"the straw that broke the camel's back." You don't need to have every step figured out to make a change. The first step is the decision itself; the "how" will reveal itself later. Having a support system is crucial, but ultimately, the courage to act must come from within yourself. Taking a "step back" (like moving back home) can be a strategic move to propel yourself two steps forward into a better future. True growth often requires you to let go of a "good" situation to make space for a "great" one. The negative weight of a bad situation is immense, and the feeling of freedom after leaving it is immeasurable. Questions Answered in This Episode: How can your biggest challenge become the fuel for your greatest growth? What are the warning signs of a controlling relationship or a situation that's draining your identity? How do you find the courage to leave a situation when you feel stuck and don't have all the answers? What does the "straw that broke the camel's back" feel like in a real-life scenario? How important is a support system when making a major life change? How do you deal with the fear and uncertainty of the future after making a brave decision? How can stepping back in life temporarily help you move forward in the long run? What does true personal growth and transformation look like after overcoming a major challenge? Beim nächsten Mal also einfach mal live dabei sein! Sometimes the ache in a marriage isn't about the big betrayals or blowout fights. It's about not feeling emotionally comforted by your partner. In this coaching conversation, I explore how our upbringing shapes what we expect from comfort and why our partner may not naturally offer it in the way we long for.I walk through how to express those needs clearly, without criticism, so they can be heard and received.I also share why it's okay to build a “board of directors” of trusted people who can support you in different ways, instead of expecting one person to meet every need. It's not about lowering your expectations… it's about learning how to ask for what you need and giving your partner the chance to grow into it.Struggling to decide whether to stay or go in your marriage and you're serious about finding that answer? Book a Truth & Clarity Session with a member of my team. We'll discuss where you are in your marriage and explore if there's a fit for you and I to work together so you can make - and execute - the RIGHT decision for YOU and your marriage.

Daily Boost Podcast Show Notes Why Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone Is Wrong August 19, 2025 | Episode 5162 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description How many times have you been told to "get out of your comfort zone"? Scott challenges that conventional wisdom with a fresh perspective that'll change how you think about growth. Using his recent motorcycle adventure through Tennessee and North Carolina mountains as a backdrop, he reveals why expanding your comfort zone beats jumping out of it completely. You'll discover the bubble framework that makes personal growth feel natural instead of terrifying. This episode will shift your approach to challenges forever. Featured Story Scott shares his adrenaline-fueled motorcycle journey through the twisty mountain roads of Tennessee and North Carolina. Riding on the edge for seven hours a day with the constant awareness that one wrong move could be fatal, he and his crew lived by one rule: "ride your own ride." This white-knuckle adventure becomes the perfect metaphor for how to approach your comfort zone – push the limits without breaking the bubble. Important Points Your comfort zone is like a soap bubble that can expand without breaking, and staying inside while stretching it is more effective than jumping out completely. Small, consistent steps at the edge of your comfort zone create bigger changes over time than massive leaps that might overwhelm you. Balance between challenge and comfort has restorative value, helping you maintain momentum without burning out. Memorable Quotes "Almost everything you know right now happened because you got out of your comfort zone." "Ride your own ride – don't get pulled out of your comfort zone just to keep up with somebody else." "Go out on the edge as far as you can, staying within your bubble, but don't leave that bubble." Scott's Three-Step Approach Identify one small area where you can stretch just beyond your current comfort level without completely leaving your zone. Practice the "bubble expansion" mindset by taking small, consistent actions that challenge you while maintaining your sense of safety. Remember to alternate between challenge and comfort, giving yourself recovery time to maintain balance and avoid overwhelm. Connect With Me Search for The Daily Boost on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Dan Clouser, author and podcast host, shares his journey from running a youth sports organization for 30 years to full-time RV life while hosting "The Journey of My Mother's Son" podcast. He emphasizes that growth only happens outside your comfort zone and reveals how years of coaching taught him that life, like baseball, is a game where you're either winning or learning. Dan discusses the power of authentic storytelling, the importance of listening without judgment, and how genuine conversations reveal that people have far more in common than they realize. Key Takeaways Growth requires discomfort - You can only grow outside your comfort zone, whether that's being pushed or making a conscious decision to step into uncomfortable territory You're either winning or learning - Failure is only truly failure if you don't learn something from it; every loss contains a lesson that can prevent future defeats Authentic connection beats perfect branding - Being willing to show your face, share your story, and be vulnerable creates deeper connections than hiding behind logos or polished facades Listen to understand, not to respond - Real conversations happen when you listen to understand someone's perspective rather than just waiting for your turn to speak About Dan Clouser Dan Clouser is an author, blogger, podcast host, speaker, and consultant who founded and operated the Berkshire Baseball & Softball Club (later the BIG Vision Foundation) for 30 years. The organization ran youth sports teams, tournaments, and a 130-acre sports complex, where he dedicated his career to teaching leadership and life lessons to young people. In 2019, he and his wife Sandy answered what they felt was a calling to leave their comfort zone and embark on a cross-country RV journey. Inspired by his late mother Loretta Magary—a free spirit who took her own transformative travels in the 1980s—they sold most of their possessions and hit the road with their golden retriever, Youkilis, to continue her legacy of giving back through volunteering and storytelling. Through speaking engagements, writing, and podcasting, he shares the stories of the "many little people in many little places doing many little things" who are making a difference in the world. His mission is to inspire others to take their own steps toward positive change, honoring the belief that collective small actions can transform the world. Following Youkilis's passing in April 2024, he and Sandy continue their journey together, documenting the remarkable people they meet along the way. In This Episode [00:00] Welcome to the show! In Part 3: Kyle Steiner explains how "Comfort and Progress, don't live in the same home." Combat, war and pushing your body to the extreme may seem uncomfortable to most, but were areas where Kyle felt at home. With retirement from the Army fast approaching, Kyle opens about what he finds uncomfortable in civilian life and how he needs to push past that initial hesitation in order to be the man that his children will be proud to call their father. There are no excuses for mediocrity and in this final installment of The Present Father's Interview with Kyle Steiner, he explains that he plans on taking on civilian life, fatherhood and any other future challenges with the same gusto that he approached his time in the military. About Kyle Steiner: Kyle is a husband and father, a U.S. Army Green Beret, Chief Warrant Officer, and the founder of Operator Mindset—a leadership and coaching platform helping highly successful men reclaim discipline, presence, and purpose in their lives. Since then, he has completed multiple missions to the Middle East, Central America, and South America with U.S. Special Operations teams. He is the recipient of 2 Purple Hearts and 3 Bronze Stars as well as an ARCOM with V Device. Our ancestors thrived on struggle; we wilt from inconvenience. The Comfort Crisis author Michael Easter shows how embracing discomfort builds resilience.Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1186What We Discuss with Michael Easter:Modern comfort crisis: We've engineered physical activity and challenges out of our lives, leading to sedentary diseases and reduced mental resilience — but our bodies and minds still need discomfort to thrive.Discomfort as medicine: Physical effort, hunger, and temperature swings protect against disease by triggering beneficial adaptations — 80 percent of eating today is driven by boredom or stress, not actual hunger.Transferable toughness: Mental resilience built through physical challenges transfers to other life areas — like how overcoming a difficult hike builds confidence to tackle career or relationship obstacles.Nature's measurable benefits: The "25-3 rule" — 20 minutes in city parks three times a week reduces stress; five hours monthly in wilder nature increases happiness; three days yearly off-grid resets priorities.Start with a two percent mindset: Only two percent of people take stairs when escalators exist. Begin building discomfort tolerance with small daily choices — take stairs, walk during calls, sit on the floor while reading. And much more...And if you're still game to support us, please leave a review here — even one sentence helps!
