Over his career, Benoy has developed more than 100 MW of solar projects across the United States, advised on more than 1 GW of energy projects worldwide, helped launch some of the first residential solar tax equity funds at Tesla, and brokered approximately $50 million in renewable energy credit transactions. Before founding Reneu Energy, Benoy worked in Tesla's Project Finance Group as an environmental commodities trader, where he managed one of the company's largest environmental commodities portfolios. He originated renewable energy credit transactions and worked with senior leadership to develop monetization and hedging strategies supporting the company's expansion into East Coast markets. Benoy also served as Vice President at Vanguard Energy Partners, a solar and energy storage construction company, where he developed project finance solutions for commercial-scale solar portfolios. At Ridgewood Renewable Power, a private equity fund with approximately 125 MW of U.S. renewable energy assets, he evaluated investment opportunities, supported portfolio strategy, and played a key role in the sale of the firm's renewable energy portfolio. Earlier in his career, Benoy worked in Energy Structured Finance at Deloitte & Touche and in Financial Advisory Services at Ernst & Young. He also completed an internship on the trading floor at D. E. Shaw & Co., a global investment and technology development firm. Celeste Rivas Hernandez was fourteen years old when her parents signed a notarized travel consent form that put her on an international trip with musician David Anthony Burke, known to fans as d4vd. Weeks later, her dismembered body turned up in his Tesla, and the family's story hasn't stopped shifting since the arrest. LAPD Detective Corey Farell testified that both families knew about the relationship long before anyone called it a crime. There was a Las Vegas trip with Celeste's sister tagging along, VIP concert seats, and church visits together. Then, after Burke's arrest, Celeste's father told reporters he'd never had any contact with the musician at all — a claim that doesn't square with the record now in front of the judge. Now the defense is working an entirely different angle. Attorney Blair Berk pressed the medical examiner on whether Celeste's injuries could have occurred after death, and got a detective to read messages where Celeste referenced harming herself, an attempt to muddy exactly how and when she died. Burke has been held to answer on first-degree murder with special circumstances, along with charges connected to illegal conduct with Celeste and unlawful mutilation of her remains. The death penalty is on the table. He's pleaded not guilty. Arraignment lands August 31st. Two families that apparently knew everything. A father who now says he knew nothing. We put the fictional version and the criminal allegation side by side. Before any of this, David Burke was a homeschooled kid recording songs on an iPhone in his sister's closet, building a following inside Fortnite lobbies. Prosecutors say that's also where he met Celeste Rivas Hernandez, when both were still teenagers, years before his career took off. Signed to Darkroom and Interscope at seventeen, Burke created an alter ego, Itami, meaning pain, an agent of chaos he described wearing a blindfold, a concept pulled from a manga about a detective whose alter ego commits the murders he solves. The comparison he used himself was Tyler Durden. His videos showed the character with a bloody knife and, in another, taking a woman's arm. The forensic case built during the preliminary hearing doesn't rely on any of that. A trace analyst matched cuts on a garage pool to fragments recovered on Celeste's leggings. DNA tied both the Tesla and the home to her. A criminalist described real blood scrubbed from the garage floor, feet from containers of fake blood. Cell tower records placed Burke's Tesla in Santa Barbara County three times after Celeste allegedly died. She was fourteen, went to his home on April 23, 2025, and was never heard from again. Her remains were found in the Tesla months later. Burke has pleaded not guilty to murder, illegal acts involving a minor, and mutilation of human remains. Bodycam from February 2024 shows deputies told Burke she was thirteen. The relationship allegedly continued fourteen more months until she was dead.Burke has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is held without bail. Under the global misguidance of corporate, political, religious, academic, and other Powers That Be, our large-brained species has ended up making an awful mess of the nest we inherited. Elite plunderers and profiteers have imposed an ethic of greed, inequality, and even inhumanity that is devouring everything from Earth's climate to our basic human values of fairness and justice.Leading this careless assault is a clique of arrogant and abusive high-tech gabillionaires who consider themselves geniuses because, well… they're rich! Consider Elon Musk, presently the richest of the world's richest, who postures as an uber-brained deep thinker, social engineer, and whirling corporate dervish.
