She holds an MA in Accounting and Finance from HSG and co-founded Snäx in 2018 (acquired by FELFEL in 2023) before beginning her new venture in 2024. Adam Korczak is the co-founder and CEO at Treeless, an ETH Zurich Spin-off developing microorganism-based cellulose materials with the goal to end plastic pollution. He obtained his education in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at ETH and incorporated the company in 2023. During their chat with Merle, Lida and Adam reflected on the skills which have bolstered their unique founder journeys. The abilities needed to build a successful startup were not always what this pair of founders expected: Lida recalls being surprised and feeling challenged by the need to develop her analytical mind and to gain the habit of making data-based decisions, and Adam remembered how difficult it was at first to have to make such a inordinate amount of phone calls every single day. Both founders value the technical skills they learned in school, but most of all they appreciate how their education taught them resilience — the ability to cope with stress. Heute geht es um kindliche Lehrmeister und Erwachsene, die für die Umgebungsgestaltung junger Eichel- und Dattelpalmenkinder zuständig sind. Janusz Korczak kannte sich damit aus, Anke hat über den Einfluss der Umwelt auf Kinder ihre Dissertation geschrieben und Claudijas Sohn zeigt im Jugendsinfonieorchester das Ergebnis gelebter Wertschätzung und Partizipation. Fakt ist: Der begabteste Mensch kann nicht Geige spielen, wenn er keine Geige hat und Kinder brauchen empathische Menschen, um Empathie zu lernen. Nachhaltiges Lernen braucht Begeisterung, Hingabe und eine Wohlfühlumgebung. In dieser Hinsicht ist Claudija wie Korczak – für Kinder gibt es nur beste salbeianische Wohlgerüche, weil sie mit dem Herzen sieht. Damit Kinder so werden können, wie sie gemeint sind, ist es wichtig, sie sein zu lassen und ihnen eine herzwarme Umgebung anzubieten, die sie nicht in Förmchen presst. Das gilt für alle Kinder, besonders für diejenigen, deren Lebensumstände nur schwer oder nicht verändert werden können. Korczak hat sich mit einem liebenden Blick für Waisenkinder eingesetzt und Verantwortung übernommen. Nicht jammern, sondern machen stand auf seinem Plan und er bezahlte dafür mit seinem Leben. Er hat erkannt, wer er ist, wofür er leben und sterben will. Ankes Worte klingen wie ein Kalenderspruch, deshalb werden sie 2026 im ersten SO-Kalender stehen: An zu viel Liebe ist noch kein Kind gestorben, an zu wenig schon sehr viele! Und es sind NIE die Rahmenbedingungen, die Erwachsene dazu veranlassen, Kindeseelen einzuklemmen, es ist der mangelnde Mut zu lichtvoller Innenschau und einer daraus resultierenden mangelnden Selbstverantwortung. Unseres Erachtens ein großer Fehler. Wir denken, Veränderungen beginnen immer mit der Entscheidung, sich selbst zu erkennen und sein inneres Licht (wieder) zu entdecken. En 1942, en pleine Seconde Guerre mondiale, un pédiatre polonais préfère accompagner les jeunes du ghetto de Varsovie vers les camps de la mort, plutôt que de les abandonner à leur sort. Jusqu'au bout, il aura dédié sa vie aux enfants. Virginie Girod vous raconte le destin exceptionnel de Janusz Korczak. Né Henryk Goldszmit à Varsovie en 1878 dans une famille juive, Janusz Korczak est son nom de plume. Les Goldszmit sont aisés, du moins avant que le père ne soit interné à cause d'une maladie psychiatrique. A douze ans, Henryk, l'unique fils, doit travailler pour subvenir aux besoins de sa famille. Il est passionné par la médecine et la pédagogie. Mais à peine diplômé en 1905, Janusz est enrôlé dans l'armée tsariste pour servir dans la guerre russo-japonaise. La souffrance est partout. Elle n'épargne pas les enfants. À son retour, il travaille dans un hôpital pour enfants et ouvre un cabinet privé. Quand il n'est pas médecin, c'est pour animer des colonies de vacances et s'initier au rôle d'éducateur. C'est là que Janusz Korczak imagine le tribunal des enfants, une tentative pour régler les conflits de façon non violente ! Il approfondit ce principe d'autogestion pédagogique dans un orphelinat où il instaure la « république des enfants ». Pour les responsabiliser, les jeunes ont le droit de vote et participent à toutes les tâches. La guerre ne cesse cependant de rattraper Korczak : la guerre d'indépendance polonaise succède à la Première Guerre mondiale. Et en 1939, l'Allemagne nazie envahit la Pologne. Les juifs de Varsovie, dont ceux de l'orphelinat de Korczak sont parqués dans le plus grand ghetto d'Europe. La faim, la maladie, la promiscuité : les conditions de vie y sont inhumaines. Korczak se dévoue entièrement aux enfants. La résistance polonaise lui propose plusieurs fois de le sortir du ghetto. Il refuse. Le 6 août 1942, les SS vident l'orphelinat de Janusz Korczak. Avec ses enfants, le vieux docteur marche vers les camps de la mort. Te gast zijn Arie de Bruin, voorzitter van de Janusz Korczak stichting, Dagmar Tulner, leerkracht van groep 7 van de Gelderlandschool in Den Haag, en de leerlingen uit haar klas en onderwijsassistent Yorel Schouten, en we spreken over Janusz Korczak en de kinderrechten. Met Dagmar als side-kick gaat Arie in gesprek met de kinderen over de kinderrechten, zoals recht op veiligheid, bescherming, niet-pesten, goede opvoeding, en welke invloed Korczak daarop heeft gehad. Maar Arie vertelt veel meer over Korczaks ideeën, zoals dat kinderen recht hebben op liefde, respect, de dag van vandaag, fouten maken, vergeving en herstel. Ook maakt Arie de kinderen duidelijk dat zijzelf medeverantwoordelijk zijn voor die rechten. In het nagesprek geven Dagmar en Yorel hun trotse indrukken weer van het leerlingengesprek en wat zij zelf geleerd hadden over Korczak. We leren verder Arie als Korczak-pedagoog persoonlijk wat meer kennen. De pedagoog in de praktijk hebben we al gezien. Prachtig deed hij dat met de leerlingen. Dat persoonlijke blijkt de kern van het werk van Korczak en van de visie van Arie en Dagmar op pedagogiek. Dat krijgt ook een persoonlijk tintje voor mij, omdat Dagmar vertelt wat ik als docent voor haar heb betekend. We eindigen in de actualiteit van de oorlog in Israël en Palestina. Korczak was religieus gezien een bijzondere Jood, omdat hij wars was van clubjes en dogma's. Hij had meer op met noties als liefde, vergeving en herstel. Zelf schreef hij gebeden vanuit het perspectief van kinderen, gelovigen en ongelovigen. Dat deze podcastaflevering een gebed mag zijn over liefde, vergeving en herstel. The Vegas Golden Knights pulled out a win in a shootout as they defeated the Dallas Stars to stay undefeated through four games on the early season. William Karlsson deflected a Kaeden Korczak shot on net with 3:00 remaining to tie game and Jonathan Marchessault scored the game winner in the shootout period. VGK is 4-0. Korczak also scored his first NHL goal in the game. Bruce Cassidy spoke about how games like this against a playoff-caliber team will help him later on this season if he has to fill in due to injuries again. Adin Hill stopped 22 of 24 shots on goal. Janusz Korczak nació en 1879 en Polonia, como Henryk Goldszmit. A pesar de ser un escritor y pediatra exitoso en su juventud, su legado se debe principalmente a su trabajo con los huérfanos. En 1911, se convirtió en director de un orfanato en Varsovia y comenzó a implementar sus principios pedagógicos basados en los derechos y la dignidad de los niños. [1h24min] Pedagogiczne dziedzictwo Janusza Korczaka jest ciągle aktualne, żywe i inspirujące. Łączy ono ogólną refleksję nad człowiekiem i wychowaniem oraz uwagi o praktyce wychowania. Tym, co decyduje o ponadczasowej wartości tej pedagogiki są marzenia o świecie przyjaznym dziecku. O czasach i ludziach, którzy urzeczywistnią – jak pisał Stary Doktor – prawo dziecka do szacunku, życia w pokoju i w radości. Życie Janusza Korczaka to kilka faz jego działalności: od lekarskiej, po dziennikarską, literacką po wychowawczą. Właśnie z tej ostatniej działalności Korczak jest szczególnie znany: był dyrektorem Domu Sierot - „domu pracy i szkoły życia”, wcześniej prowadził Nasz Dom, gdzie stosował innowacyjne metody wychowawcze. W swojej działalności łączył opiekę nad dzieckiem, respektowanie jego prawi i wychowanie do samodzielności. Jest prekursorem działań na rzecz całkowitego równouprawnienia najmłodszych. Korczak pracuje głównie z dziećmi najbardziej upokorzonymi: bezdomnymi, sierotami, bezimiennymi. Część druga to opis ich świata: w czasach Korczaka traktowane były często jak „klasa pańszczyźniania”, „najstarszy proletariat”. Jak wspomniano, Korczak to także literat. Z jego dzieł można wywnioskować, że w latach 30. XX wieku zdawał sobie sprawę do czego doprowadzi przedwojenny antysemityzm oraz wojna. Chociaż miał możliwość ucieczki z okupowanej Warszawy, do końca pozostał w getcie wraz w wychowankami. Jego „Pamiętnik z getta” – jest biograficzną refleksją nad upodleniem świata i nędzą ludzkiej kondycji. Dyskusja z udziałem publiczności: jak Korczakowi udało się w getcie prowadzić Dom Sierot? Doktor Józef Bednarz, polski psychiatra, w 1939 roku dyrektor szpitala psychiatrycznego w Świeciu (obecnie jego patron) nazywany jest Pomorskim Korczakiem. Podczas pierwszej wojny światowej był rosyjskim lekarzem wojskowym. Później przekazał polskiemu wywiadowi wojskowemu informacje na temat rosyjskich badań nad bronią chemiczną i ochroną przeciw gazom bojowym. W odrodzonej Rzeczypospolitej zajmował miejsce godne swojej wiedzy i siły charakteru. Poświęcał się psychiatrii i badaniom w dziedzinie ochrony przeciwchemicznej (w Instytucie Badawczym Broni Chemicznej w Warszawie), angażował się w życie obywatelskie i patriotyczne. Został zamordowany przez niemieckie komando śmierci razem ze swoimi pacjentami, najprawdopodobniej w miejscowości Grupa niedaleko Świecia 11 listopada 1939 roku.

Das ist eine der letzten Tagebucheintragungen von Janusz Korczak, dem jüdischen Arzt, Pädagogen und Schriftsteller. Korczak wurde 1912 die Leitung eines jüdischen Waisenhauses in Warschau angeboten und damit hatte er seine Lebensaufgabe gefunden. Insbesondere setzte er sich in Wort und Tat für die Rechte von Kindern ein, die er - ungewöhnlich für die damalige Zeit - den Rechten von Erwachsenen gleichstellte. Nachdem Korczak mit seinem Waisenhaus 1940 ins Warschauer Ghetto umziehen musste, wurde im August 1942 durch die Nationalsozialisten die Deportation in das Vernichtungslager Treblinka angeordnet. Obwohl Korczak sich hätte retten können, begleitete er die Kinder, den sicheren Tod in Kauf nehmend. Korczaks genaues Todesdatum ist unbekannt, 2012 setzte das Bezirksgericht Lublin den 7. Hoy te platico de la escultura “Korczak y los Niños del Ghetto” del escultor Boris Saktsier, un bronce elaborado en 1979 ubicado en el Yad Vashem, El Museo del Holocausto de Jesusalén. Basia Vucic is an expert on the philosophy of education -and especially on JK educational philosophy- from UCL, London (UK). Invited as a 2019 visiting fellow to the UNESCO Janusz Korczak Chair at the Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw, the scope of her research at UCL includes the hidden history of the child rights movement, political theory, and democratic education. Yamila Rodríguez, Lawyer & Ph.D. Scholar, Department of Law, University of Buenos Aires, researches the extension of the international obligation of the state to ensure children's rights to participation and access to justice in the criminal justice system, focusing on children who are victims and witnesses of crimes with her academic training and career as a civil servant at a Criminal Court in Buenos Aires, where she worked for over ten years. Seran Demiral is a children's literature and sci-fi writer from Istanbul. She studied the subjectivities of children through their interaction with digital technologies for her Ph.D in Sociology by focusing on changing childhood experiences. She is also a P4C (Philosophy for Children) trainer, and teaches digital childhoods, children's literature, creative writing and sociology at various universities as a part-time lecturer. In this episode, I’ll give you the 411 on how to visit Devil’s Tower National Monument and why you want to visit the Crazy Horse Memorial. Devil’s Tower is the geologic formation that was made famous by the Steven Speilberg movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind and not much has changed in the area since the movie was filmed in 1977. South Dakota and Wyoming Travel Tips When you’re planning a vacation to South Dakota or Wyoming, you’ll want to be prepared to drive long distances across these vast, open, and rural states. While there are many outdoor and tourist activities to be had, the most essential aspect you’ll need to remember is to consistently map out where you will go in a location that you have decent wi-fi. Wyoming is a big state, with very few accommodations in between cities as there are many farms and thousands of acres of open space. This is definitely a place where you’ll need to do some planning ahead for your activities - mainly because the drive-in between them can be lengthy. In addition, Wyoming doesn’t have very many places that are gluten-free friendly, which adds to the amount of planning you’ll need to do in advance of your trip. Devil’s Tower National Monument If you are a fan of the Steven Spielberg movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind, you’ll definitely want to take a trip out and experience Devil’s Tower National Monument. What I love about this monument, besides the fact that I became completely enamored with this geologic feature when I first saw the movie at the age of five in 1977, is that you can easily see the entire park on the weekend! From the park entrance, check out the visitor center, which offers you views of the different sides of the monument. The Tower Trail and other hikes offer changing views of the Tower. When you drive in from the highway, you can see the one side of the Tower with the amazing and beautiful landscape surrounding this geologic feature. Definitely pull over and get a picture of the Tower a few miles out before you get into the park. Once inside the park, you’ll be able to hike around the entire Tower with the ability to see many perspectives of the geologic formation. To truly see the Tower, one must observe it from all perspectives. Before white settlers came into the area and gave this geological feature its American name, our Native American peoples celebrated and lived around the Tower for thousands of years; their modern descendants still maintain a connection with this place on a physical and a spiritual level. “Oral histories passed down by various American Indian tribes, as well as their present-day ceremonies, offer us important perspectives of the Tower.” Crazy Horse Memorial The Crazy Horse Memorial is the largest carved monument to date, and if you placed it on top of Mount Rushmore, it would easily consume the entirety of this monument. Over one million people visit this unique and beautiful work of art, which was started in 1939 when Chief Henry Standing Bear met Korczak Ziolkowski 1939 at the World’s Fair. Chief Henry hired Korczak to build and construct this massive undertaking. Along with his wife Ruth Ross and their ten children, Korczak worked daily on their new life project. You can easily see the mission of Crazy Horse Monument in practice today, “The mission of Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation is to protect and preserve the culture, tradition, and living heritage of all North American Indians. With their mission leading the way, the original sculpture has expanded into a visitor complex of over a dozen buildings, including an educational and cultural center for Native Americans, history and cultural museum, and several carving rooms. Crazy Horse Memorial is definitely a must-see if you are in South Dakota or Wyoming, so make sure to put this monument on your list. It’s definitely an all-day experience that you won’t want to miss! Other Fun Activities in Wyoming Since you’re already in Wyoming, you may want to stop at other locations besides Devil’s Tower and Crazy Horse. One of the other activities I took part in while on my vacation in Wyoming is the Badlands Helicopter Tour we took to see Mount Rushmore National Monument. This was a great choice to view the monument as you avoid all the traffic on the way up. However, you’ll have a hard time getting good pictures of the memorial from a helicopter, but the ride-up is definitely fantastic! I didn’t get to see a few places but looked like a great option: The Mammoth Site of Hot Springs, South Dakota, the Reptile Gardens, The 1880 Train, The Prairie Berry Winery, which is the region’s most awarded winery. I’d also recommend a hot air balloon ride, which always gives you a fantastic bird’ eye view of the landscape and geology. Fly the Black Hills offers the opportunity for you to soar in a hot air balloon. Also, check out Tatanka, the Story of the Bison, and find out how the bison almost went extinct. Mógł zarobić dużo pieniędzy lecząc bogatych ludzi, ale on wolał pomagać biednym, którzy mieli mało pieniędzy, albo nawet wcale. Leczył zarówno Polaków jak i Żydów. Irena od dzieci żydowskich nauczyła się ich języka - języka jidysz. Niestety jej ojciec zmarł, zaraził się tyfusem od ludzi, którym pomagał. Irena wraz z mamą przeprowadziła się do Warszawy. Ale jak im pomagała?Irena załatwiała fałszywe dokumenty i potem wywożono te dzieci z getta. Ale te dzieci wcale nie chciały opuszczać swoich rodziców. Czy Irena zginęła w tym więzieniu?Jeden z niemieckich żołnierzy zgodził się uwolnić po cichu Irenę, ale chciał za to dużo pieniędzy. Jej współpracownicy zapłacili mu i Irena mogła wyjść z Gestapo. Musiała jednak zmienić nazwisko. Nie przestała jednak pomagać dzieciom żydowskim. Uratowała wraz ze swoimi ludźmi około 2.500 dzieci. Później podczas powstania warszawskiego była sanitariuszką, a po wojnie pracowała w opiece społecznej i dalej pomagała między innymi także dzieciom. W ramach podziękowania otrzymała od Żydów tytuł Sprawiedliwej Wśród Narodów Świata. Żydzi dawali taki tytuł wszystkim tym, którzy ratowali Żydów podczas II wojny światowej. Na medalu, który dostają takie osoby jest napisane: “„Kto ratuje jedno życie – ratuje cały świat”. Irena oczywiście nie była jedynym Polakiem, który otrzymał ten tytuł. Prawie 7000 Polaków dostało ten tytuł i medal. W Holandii taki medal dostało prawie 6000, a we Francji ponad 5000. W Polsce było jednak najwięcej osób, które pomagały Żydom, bo prawie 7000.Dzisiaj wiele osób nie lubi ludzi z innych narodów czy ras. Tacy ludzie przypominają Hitlera i jego żołnierzy, którzy też nienawidzili ludzi z innych ras i narodów. Na szczęście dalej jest dużo takich ludzi jak Irena Sendlerowa, która z narażeniem życia ratowała Żydów.To był trudny temat. Niestety historia opowiada też o takich strasznych czasach jak II wojna światowa. Na szczęście było wtedy wielu dobrych ludzi. "A hundred children, a hundred individuals who are people - not people to be, not people of tomorrow, but people now, right now -- today." - Janusz Korczak On Tuesday, July 30th at 5 pm, Irwin Elman and I sat down to have a schmooze on Hatradio! I have always been intrigued by Irwin, the former Provincial (Ontario) Advocate for Children and Youth, because of his self-professed nutty professor character, his passion for Janusz Korczak (director of an orphanage in Warsaw Ghetto, who went to his death with 'his' orphans), and his deeply authentic, and unusually passionate commitment to children and youth of Ontario, especially those on Native Reserves, in group homes and foster care. Throughout out talk, Irwin told stories about his decade as 'the' chief advocate of Canada's most populated province, Ontario. At around the 9:40 minute mark of the show, Irwin, a Jew from Quebec, discussed his visit to Japan to see group-homes which house up to 100 children. A staff member there said to him, "oh, you're Jewish? You must know Janusz Korczak?". Irwin had never heard of Korczak despite having been ensconced in the world of teaching, learning and child care. Immediately he set about learning about this man,considered by Europeans as the 'Father of children's rights'. As his career progressed, Irwin recognized he was doing similar things with the children of Ontario as Korczak had done in Poland with his orphans. As an example Irwin launched a newsletter run by the kids for the kids, just as Korczak had done. He encouraged the children on Reserves and those in group-homes (who saw themselves as being in 'storage') to speak loudly, to manage their own voice, to make adults hear them, just as Korczak had done. Eventually, he printed up well over 1000 books written by a 'Korczak orphan' and distribute it to all his staff and those affiliated with his work. At the 16:20 mark of our schmooze, Irwin tells about his upbringing, by parents who believed in the concept of repairing the world. Irwin's Mom told him, "you are not allowed to hate anyone". Even when he talks about his the Federal Minister who was responsible for closing the 'Advocacy office without explanation', Irwin expressed without hesitancy, "I am angry at her", but he never hated her (despite the fact he heard about the office closing through his staff who had heard a report on CBC radio). Nor does he hate adults who are responsible for the suffering of children. At 1:42:50 of the interview, Irwin continued his story-telling answers to my questions. He said, "I've struggled to figure out why does it (the situation of the children he deals with) not make me sad." He answered his own question stating, "I'm an actor in the world so I'm doing my part.......I also believe in them (the children). They're okay. And if they're not okay, they can be okay....and I know that all the thousands of children who worked through our office, including children on the Native reserves, had created change to the province of Ontario...they had influenced the way children's voices are thought about." In Episode 30, Irwin Elman repeated over and over, just like Korczak did, that it's not possible to legislate love however "you can legislate the condition in which love can flourish". This was told to him by one of his youth. Irwin added, if Korczak could give the children a voice in a ghetto in Poland during the war, why can't we do the same in an industrialized nation like Canada, in peace time. This is a dynamic interview with a regular guy, who is challenged by doing laundry at home (he didn't know there were rules). Irwin would go where the children were if they wanted to meet him. He stayed on the Attawapiskat Reserve for a week, where child/youth suicide had become a crisis. And Irwin knows first hand, better than anyone, the needs of children and youth in our Ontario. Guest 4 - Another 2019 Draft Spotlight featuring a big defenceman from the Kelowna Rockets named Kaedan Korczak.
At the beginning of August 1942, an elderly well-dressed gentleman left home with around 200 orphans in tow. It was to be their last outing. Sienna 16 was the last address of Janusz Korczak’s Dom Sierota orphans’ home before he and his children were killed at the Nazi German death camp of Treblinka in the first week of August 1942. Janusz Korczak was a pediatrician, renowned author, pedagogue, social activist, and defender of children’s rights. In fact, it is his work with children and his role as the director of the Dom Sierot, the Orphans’ Home, for which he is best known. Apart from introducing new educational methods at the orphange, he also nurtured creativity among the children – one such endeavour was a newspaper: The Little Review. Born in Polish Lithuania, Boris Korczak fled from Communism and settled in Denmark. There he became embroiled in Cold War espionage. He worked for seven years as a CIA asset operating within the KGB. After his cover was blown, Korczak sought help from the Americans, including US citizenship - but the CIA had different ideas. In a remarkable radio interview, reenacted here, WRC’s Joel Spivak interviews Boris Korcak about some of his remarkable claims.This is part 1 of 2 about Boris Korczak. ‘’Het gesprek over het digitale leven van leerlingen in het hier en nu, moet veel meer gewicht krijgen.” Dat zegt pedagoog Joop Berding, in gesprek met Remco Pijpers in deze Kennisnet podcast over leerlingen in de huidige digitale samenleving. Berding laat zich hierbij inspireren door pedagoog Janusz Korczak. Joop Berding is pedagoog, docent en onderzoeker op Hogeschool Rotterdam en auteur van het boek ‘Ik ben ook een mens’. Daarnaast is hij Korczcak-kenner. Grondlegger kinderparticipatie Janusz Korczak was een Poolse-Joodse pedagoog, die ook wel de grondlegger van de kinderparticipatie wordt genoemd. In 1919 formuleerde hij, ver voor het officiële Verdrag over de rechten van het kind, zijn ‘Grondwet over de rechten van het kind’. Daarin staat onder andere: dat een kind recht heeft op de dag van vandaag dat een kind het recht heeft te zijn wie het is. In 1912 stichtte hij een weeshuis, waarmee hij zijn ideaal in de praktijk bracht. Kinderen betrok hij bij de dagelijkse gang van zaken, onder andere door het instellen van een kinderparlement, en het oprichten van een krant - de eerste ter wereld waarvan de redactie geheel uit kinderen bestond. De geschiedenis van deze ‘kinder-republiek’ kende een verdrietig einde. In 1942 werden alle inwoners van het weeshuis vanuit het getto van Warschau naar Treblinka getransporteerd. Korczak kreeg de kans te ontsnappen, maar hij koos ervoor tot het einde bij de kinderen te blijven. Wat zou Korczak aanspreken uit onze digitale tijd? "Korczak was voor het meedoen van kinderen,” zegt Berding. “Hij was iemand die, als hij nu zou leven, de uitvinder kon zijn van sociale media. Hij zou er enthousiast over zijn omdat ze kinderen de mogelijkheid geven zelf internetpagina’s te maken. Zijn krant, de Kleine Revue, zou zeker een Facebook-pagina hebben gekregen. Tegelijkertijd vond hij een kindgerichte en gemeenschapsgerichte cultuur belangrijk, een cultuur waarin kinderen volledig tot hun recht komen. Maar wel binnen een zo rechtvaardig mogelijke samenleving.” Berding vraagt zich af of sociale media wel zo kind- en gemeenschapsgericht zijn. “Janusz Korczak zou kritisch zijn. Tellen kinderen werkelijk mee voor sociale media-bedrijven? De advertenties die kinderen over zich heen krijgen, spreken boekdelen.”
Set på overfladen er der ikke meget, der taler for, at en skægget jyde og en tidligere militærmand fra Storkøbenhavn kan finde sammen om ret meget. Men skindet bedrager, for det er lige præcis, hvad der skete. Det var nemlig et sammentræf af de gode, da Rune Falch Yates og Knut Korczaks veje krydsedes, en dag i Rødovre. Rune havde længe haft lyst til at prøve kræfter med Europas hårdeste trail på Korsika, den 180 km lange GR20. GR20 er ikke bare kendt for sværhedsgraden, men også for længden. Den normale tid at gennemføre på er 15 dage, men Rune havde andre planer. Da han nævnte det for Knut, sagde han: Jeg er klar. Og sådan blev det. Ich beginne mit der Lesung des Buches " Wie man ein Kind lieben soll".Hierbei lasse ich den ersten Abschnitt, den ersten Teil des Buches aus, da Korczak hier sehr allgemein bleibt, seine Pädagogik im groben vorstellt und seine Sicht auf das Kind beschreibt. Mich jedoch vor allem der zweite und dritte Teil des Buches anregt und fasziniert. Janusz Korczaks tankar och böcker har inspirerat pedagoger, barnrättskämpar och konstnärer i mer än hundra år. I Polen är Janusz Korczaks mycket erkänd, en av de stora nationella hjältarna. Men i Sverige vet de flesta inte vem han var. Mest känd är han för sin död. I början av augusti 1942 förintades Janusz Korczak tillsammans med sina tvåhundra barnhemsbarn i Treblinka. Vem var han? Polsk jude, barnläkare, barnhemsföreståndare, forskare, pedagog och radioman. Vad betyder hans idéer idag? Rut Berlinger en av Korczaks patienter, skolbarn från Chocimskaskolan i Warszawa, barnboksförfattaren Joanna Rudnianska, regissörerna Carolina Frände och Lena Lucki Stein berättar om hur hans idéer och person fortfarande inspirerar. He established the first progressive orphanages in Poland, and wrote numerous books on child psychology, including How to Love a Child and the Child's Right to Respect. Pediatrician Dr. Susan Weisberg describes how Dr. Korczak has inspired her life's work, and tells the story of Dr. Korczak's tragic but noble Holocaust death. Dr. Michael Greenberg hosts.
