Happy Tuesday, everyone! If you are a fan of Marvel, or Star Trek, or just good Sci-Fi, then you are going to love this week's guest— I'm talking with my new friend Terry Matalas! Terry broke out when he created the TV adaptation of 12 Monkeys. He has gone on to write and direct the last two seasons of Star Trek: Picard, he did a season of MacGyver, and he's currently finishing Vision Quest and an animated adaptation of Magic: The Gathering. Terry has his hands in so many amazing projects and I love to see it because he is truly the nicest, most appreciative guy. Be sure to stick around for the Hindsight this week, where my producer Jeph and I talk about some upcoming appearances and get into some fan questions from the Mail Sack! Guest Huascar Matos is a paralegal professional and the new president of the International Practice Management Association (IPMA). He has a varied background including a degree in Spanish and time in the fashion and art industry. After an unusual and unexpected path, he has found himself as a director of paralegals at the firm of Foley & Lardner. It's an exciting time for the IPMA as members consider international expansion, the “elephant in the room” of artificial intelligence, and the evolution of a constantly changing profession. AI may shake up the game, but Matos reminds us the legal profession is never static, enduring the shift from paper to e-discovering, the addition of computer capabilities, and other technologies. Paralegals, Matos says, will adjust and adapt as they always have. Being part of an organization such as IPMA helps paralegals understand new trends and learn new skills. Robots are not going to take over your job, but AI could help you do it better. Hear about Matos' own career path and the advice he has for those new to the profession. From All Bones Considered: Laurel Hill Stories #073, part 5 George W. Melville was the MacGyver of his day, seemingly creating something out of nothing when the situation called for it. As an engineer he was unsurpassed. He was one of only a few survivors of the ill-fated attempt to reach the North Pole by the ship Jeannette, captained by George DeLong. He then went back to recover the bodies of those who had been left behind. He has a statue at the Naval Yard and was twice painted by Thomas Eakins.

Yes, there is news to talk too - some of it huge. Like a certain huge dragon. Huge fundraisers. Huge SDCC ecto-glow announcement. Two huge properties join forces (gotta build 'em all). One huge Shredder (bro lifts). But bigger than ALL of those, is the unexpected parcel of absolute joy sent by our favourite Canadian, the one and only Colin Betts. This has to be seen (heard?) to be believed. In spite of some truely awful postage costs, comes so many gifts filled with attention to detail, insight, humor and most importantly, love. Colin - a huge thank you!Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We are a couple of members down today so yes, it's a Lisa episode. Scot and Frank take the wheel to look at a new Origins reveal, some Latest Scores (where Scot goes BIG) but mainly wax on/off about the finale of Cobra Kai. We were saddened to learn of WTR director Michael Preece's passing. In October of 2021 he was kind enough to talk with us about his amazing career and we thought we'd reshare that interview here. I attempted to be MacGyver, but might be closer to MacGruber. A woman stole an eatery's fancy bathroom sink. Truck hauling a load of curly fries catches fire on Maine highway. Humans only make up 38.5% of the internet. Who'd be the best celebrity to hangout with? Adam Sandler, Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, or Shaq. The NFL is starting to move on from their old ways, and will be phasing out the chain gang. Travis Kelce told Pat McAfee that he's not going to retire this offseason. Hiker lost in China's frigid mountains for 10 days survives by eating toothpaste. But did they?

Toniiight, a friend of MacGyver's is killed in Peru looking for a mythical treasure, so Mac helps his daughter continue her father's quest. How detrimental is the deja vu of this one to its overall quality? Sam & Jeff discuss! Plus, Sam raps/sings some Paula Adbul, and Vern unleashes an explicit verbal tirade on his co-workers after getting a new job. Whoa!
This week on the Toy Power Podcast, we are making a mess in the kitchen with recipes for the upcoming Fantastic Four Film! Then we clean-up for another segment around The Team. This round being based around MOTU Villains. We go around the room & carefully select a Leader, the Muscle, a Specialist, the Wheelman; and rounding out universally on a sweet mode of Transportation! Once that group is locked in; we dive into the underground world of Bootleg Toys! With everything from Sound-Recorders, Galaxy Empires, Lego type small figures; plus a slew of other things, Beasts & overall really poor choices & designs! This was a really fun episode - we will be sure to share some pics to compliment the Audio of what we are chatting about on our Social Media feed/s. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this not so serious episode with us!!Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Thank goodness I have Art from A Cozy Christmas and Joe from Now Watch This to help me! That's right! We're talking MacGyver! But wait! Christmas magic and miracles?!?! In a MacGyver episode?! Does he even come up with a cool hack? No. Is there at least a great version of a Christmas classic? You bet! So grab your pocket knife and an egg, hook up a battery to a potato, and rig up this episode!A Cozy ChristmasFB: @cozychristmaspodcastTwitter: @CozyXmasPodIG: @cozychristmaspodcastNow Watch ThisFB: @nowwatchthispodIG: @now_watch_this_podGive us a buzz!
