Man bekommt immer wieder frische Erkenntnisse aufgetischt.

In this deep dive, Stephen returns to break down the rapidly evolving landscape of AI in cybersecurity. We explore the critical differences between offensive AI (using AI to enhance attacks) and adversarial AI (attacking the AI models themselves). Learn the mechanics behind prompt injection, LLM jailbreaking, and how vector databases are structured. We also analyze real-world case studies, including Google Project Zero's Big Sleep autonomous zero-day agent, and demonstrate how new AI-driven tools are being used for patch diffing and root cause analysis. Finally, we tackle the massive industry question: will AI replace human penetration testers, and what steps should you take right now to futureproof your tech career? Plus, a quick look at how automated agents are tackling API vulnerabilities like BOLA. // Stephen's Social // Twitter: / steph3nsims YouTube: / @offbyonesecurity Discord: / discord // David's SOCIAL // Discord: discord.com/invite/usKSyzb Twitter: www.twitter.com/davidbombal Instagram: www.instagram.com/davidbombal LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/davidbombal Facebook: www.facebook.com/davidbombal.co TikTok: tiktok.com/@davidbombal YouTube: / @davidbombal Spotify: open.spotify.com/show/3f6k6gE... For the first time, Google has publicly designated a core update as a "Discover Core Update," signaling a major shift in how content is surfaced to users. In this podcast episode of the We Don't PLAY!™️ Podcast, host Favour Obasi-ike, MBA, MS, unpacks the groundbreaking February 2026 Google Core Update with 200+ people in the Clubhouse Audio LIVE! room. This update, which rolled out over 22 days, emphasizes a move towards a more personalized, AI-driven, and visually-oriented search experience. Favour explains that the Discover feed functions like a recommendation engine for the entire web, proactively suggesting content based on a user's interests and online behavior, rather than just reacting to search queries. This means the success of your content is now heavily influenced by the end-user's activity. The episode delves into the critical importance of creating "people-first" content — content that is helpful, reliable, and genuinely valuable to the audience. Favour warns against the use of clickbait and spammy headlines, as the new algorithm is designed to penalize such practices.Furthermore, the discussion highlights the often-overlooked but crucial role of technical SEO. Using a real-world client example and citing HubSpot's past struggles with a core update, Favour illustrates how a weak technical foundation can undermine even the best content strategy. The episode provides a comprehensive overview of what this update means for businesses and marketers, offering actionable advice on how to adapt and thrive. From optimizing images for a visual-first platform to conducting thorough content audits, this episode is a must-listen for anyone looking to stay ahead in the ever-evolving world of SEO.Book SEO Services | Quick Links for Social Business>> Book SEO Services with Favour Obasi-ike>> Visit Work and PLAY Entertainment website to learn about our digital marketing services>> Join our exclusive SEO Marketing community>> Read SEO Articles>> Subscribe to the We Don't PLAY Podcast>> Purchase Flaev Beatz Beats Online>> Favour Obasi-ike Quick LinksKey Takeaways1. A New Era of Search: The February 2026 Google Core Update is the first to be publicly named a "Discover Core Update," marking a significant shift towards a proactive, AI-powered content recommendation system.2. Content is Still King, but Context is Queen: The update prioritizes "people-first" content that is helpful, reliable, and engaging. The focus is on user intent and value, not just keywords.3. Technical SEO is Non-Negotiable: A solid technical foundation is more critical than ever. Issues with hosting, server response times, and website structure can severely impact your visibility.4. The Power of Personalization: The Discover feed is driven by user behavior and interests. This means your content's reach is now directly tied to how well it resonates with individual users.5. Visuals are Vital: The "Discover" update is inherently visual. High-quality, optimized images and videos are essential for capturing attention and driving engagement in the Discover feed.6. Say Goodbye to Gimmicks: Clickbait, spammy headlines, and other manipulative tactics will be actively penalized. Authenticity and value are the new currency of SEO.7. Embrace an Omnichannel Strategy: Relying solely on Google for traffic is a risky strategy. Building a strong presence across multiple platforms, including social media and email, is key to long-term, sustainable growth.Timestamps[00:00] Introduction to the Google Core Update[01:07] Google's First Publicly Labeled "Discover Core Update"[02:02] Timeline of the February 2026 Update[04:04] The Importance of Technical SEO[05:00] Case Study: HubSpot's Traffic Loss[06:02] The Lack of Information on Core Updates[08:12] Details of the Discover Core Update[10:15] The Role of AI in the Update[13:01] Impact on Different Industries[16:20] The "People-First" Content Strategy[20:01] The Importance of Visual Content[25:54] How User Activity Influences Search Results[27:37] Avoiding Clickbait and Spam[28:06] The Future of Search and ContentMemorable Quotes[01:07 - 01:19] "This is the first time Google has ever publicly mentioned about an update like this, especially to the open, because this doesn't usually happen all the time."[04:19 - 04:26] "I want to know about the core things that's going to either make or break your business online, especially when it comes to AI."[27:43 - 27:47] "You're going to avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid, by all means, avoid clickbait."[28:03 - 28:06] "If you're not people-first, it's gonna be quite hard."[26:11 - 26:15] "So the ball is not even in your court anymore. What is the Google Discover Core Update? The February 2026 Google Discover Core Update is a major algorithm change that focuses on personalizing the content shown in the Google Discover feed. It uses AI to proactively recommend articles, videos, and other content based on a user's interests and online behavior, rather than just responding to search queries.2. What is "people-first" content?"People-first" content is content created primarily to provide value to the reader, rather than to rank in search engines. It should be helpful, reliable, well-written, and address the user's needs and interests. This is in contrast to content that is stuffed with keywords or uses clickbait headlines to attract clicks.3. Why is technical SEO important for this update?Technical SEO ensures that your website has a solid foundation for Google to crawl, index, and understand your content. With the Discover update, technical factors like site speed, mobile-friendliness, and structured data are more important than ever for getting your content recommended to users.4. How can I optimize my content for Google Discover? To optimize for Discover, focus on creating high-quality, people-first content with compelling headlines and high-quality images. Understand your audience's interests and create content that aligns with them. Also, ensure your website is technically sound and provides a good user experience.5. What are the key takeaways from the February 2026 update? The key takeaways are to prioritize people-first content, invest in technical SEO, embrace visual content, avoid clickbait, and build an omni-channel marketing strategy to reduce reliance on a single traffic source.More ResourcesGoogle Search Status DashboardGoogle Discover Core Update BlogWork and PLAY!

Every developer has war stories about a project that went sideways—too many abstractions, tests that didn't catch what mattered, or a late-night deploy with no rollback plan. In this episode, Matt and Mike dig into the seven biggest mistakes teams make when building web apps and how to avoid them. From over- and under-engineering, leaving hard problems until the last minute, and wasting time in low-impact areas, to skipping security basics, ignoring observability, and neglecting CI/CD, we cover the traps that derail projects. Along the way, we share practical strategies—like building for 10× growth (not 100×), using tracer-bullet proofs of concept, scoping by impact, and shipping behind feature flags. Whether you're launching your first SaaS or scaling an enterprise app, these lessons will help you build faster, safer, and smarter. The State of the Market The market is split by three core philosophies: The "Artist" (Midjourney): Prioritizes aesthetic excellence and cinematic output, sacrificing precise user control and instruction following. The "Collaborator" (GPT-4o, Imagen 4): Extensions of LLMs that excel at conversational co-creation, complex instruction following, and integration into productivity workflows. The "Sovereign Toolkit" (Stable Diffusion): An open-source engine offering users unparalleled control, customization, and privacy in exchange for technical engagement. OpenAI GPT-4o: An intelligent co-creator for controlled generation. Features: Conversational refinement, superior text rendering, understands uploaded image context. Weaknesses: Slower than competitors, generates one image at a time, strict content filters. Google Imagen 4: Pragmatic tool focused on speed and ecosystem integration. Features: High-quality photorealism, fast generation, strong text rendering, multilingual. Weaknesses: Less artistic flair; value is dependent on Google ecosystem investment. Stable Diffusion 3: Open-source engine for maximum user control. Features: MMDiT architecture improves prompt/text handling, scalable models, vast ecosystem (LoRAs/ControlNet). Weaknesses: Steep learning curve, quality is user-dependent. Adobe Firefly: Focused on commercial safety and professional workflow integration. Features: Trained on Adobe Stock for legal indemnity, Generative Fill/Expand tools. Weaknesses: Creative range limited by training data, requires Adobe subscription/credits. Tools and Concepts In-painting: Modifying a masked area inside an image. Out-painting: Extending an image beyond its original borders. ControlNet: Uses a reference image (e.g., pose, sketch) to enforce the composition, structure, or pose of the output. A1111 vs. ComfyUI: Two main UIs for Stable Diffusion. A1111 is a beginner-friendly tabbed interface; ComfyUI is a node-based interface for complex, efficient, and automated workflows. Workflows "Best of Both Worlds": Generate aesthetic base images in Midjourney, then composite, edit, and add text with precision in Photoshop/Firefly. Single-Ecosystem: Work entirely within Adobe Creative Cloud or Google Workspace for seamless integration, commercial safety (Adobe), and convenience (Google). "Build Your Own Factory": Use ComfyUI to build automated, multi-step pipelines for consistent character generation, advanced upscaling, and video. Decision Framework Choose by Goal: Fine Art/Concept Art: Midjourney. Logos/Ads with Text: GPT-4o, Google Imagen 4, or specialist Ideogram. Consistent Character in Specific Pose: Stable Diffusion with a Character LoRA and ControlNet (OpenPose). Editing/Expanding an Existing Photo: Adobe Photoshop with Firefly. Exclusion Rules: If you need legible text, exclude Midjourney. If you need absolute privacy or zero cost (post-hardware), Stable Diffusion is the only option. If you need guaranteed commercial legal safety, use Adobe Firefly. If you need an API for a product, use OpenAI or Google; automating Midjourney is a bannable offense.

This week at the Desk of Ladyada, we're getting back into the swing of releasing one or two new products a week after dealing with some tariff-related chaos. Last week we launched the Sparkle Motion Stick and the SEN6x Adapter. Next week, look out for the OPT4048. For the OPT4048, we wanted to easily plot the CIE x & y to a color graph—which used to mean writing a lot of JavaScript (something I haven't done in 15 years). Thankfully, Claude helped generate code, and now it's up and running! Check it out. This week, we also designed breakouts for: ACS37800 30A Monitor, VEML6046, and a Stemma QT adapter for Raspberry Pi bq25798 Solar MPPT Charger. And for this week's The Great Search – 30 Amp Barrier Terminal Blocks

Show Notes "I remember I had the entire life cycle of the web forms printed on a wall. It was like six sheets of paper and it was very complex, and it was very useful to have it on the wall because, like, you could always look at it and say, "okay, this is going on before this one." So you have to like switch the order of things. But that's exactly what I call interesting"— Tomáš Herceg Welcome friends to The Modern .NET Show; the premier .NET podcast, focusing entirely on the knowledge, tools, and frameworks that all .NET developers should have in their toolbox. We are the go-to podcast for .NET developers worldwide, and I am your host: Jamie "GaProgMan" Taylor. In this episode, we talk with Tomáš Herceg about strategies for modernizing .NET Framework web applications such that they leverage the very latest in the .NET stack. Tomáš shares his insights from the journey of upgrading his own applications and those of his clients, both of which provided the background for his new book: "Modernizing .NET Web Applications". "The biggest problem of the YARP migrations: that they will force you to do a lot of infrastructure things at the beginning before you even start migrating some real functionality."— Tomáš Herceg Along the way, we discuss how using his DotVVM project can help with the migration. Not only is the upgrade path for DotVVM projects a process of swapping a NuGet package, but is also keeps the upgrade as a single in-memory process—something that YARP-based migrations aren't able to do. Anyway, without further ado, let's sit back, open up a terminal, type in `dotnet new podcast` and we'll dive into the core of Modern .NET. We're wrapping up the design for the OPT4048 breakout: mostly putting the finishing touches on the Arduino library (https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_OPT4048). Since the whole point of this sensor is that it gives you CIE X & Y coordinates, we thought it would be cool to plot that onto a CIE diagram (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CIE_1931_color_space). Historically, we'd have to use Processing (https://processing.org/), but now you can use WebSerial to get data directly from a microcontroller! Only catch — it's been like 15 years since I wrote JavaScript, so we asked Claude Code (https://docs.anthropic.com/en/docs/claude-code/overview) to help out. With a little direction, it delivered a perfect demo (https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_OPT4048/commits/gh-pages) in about 30 minutes. It was so fun, we're thinking of doing WebSerial demos for more products! You can try it out by uploading the code here (https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_OPT4048/blob/main/examples/opt4048_webserial/opt4048_webserial.ino) and then visiting this page: https://adafruit.github.io/Adafruit_OPT4048/webserial/ #Arduino #WebSerial #ColorSensor Visit the Adafruit shop online - http://www.adafruit.com ----------------------------------------- LIVE CHAT IS HERE! http://adafru.it/discord Subscribe to Adafruit on YouTube: http://adafru.it/subscribe New tutorials on the Adafruit Learning System: http://learn.adafruit.com/ -----------------------------------------
