Michael Doshier's role at T. Rowe Price is twofold. First, he shines a light on emerging retirement trends, shifting investor demographics, and the increasing impact of regulation. The research, insights, education, and experience that he and his colleagues analyze and share are all developed with their advisor, consultant, plan sponsor, and participant clients in mind. Secondly, he provides strategic direction to their internal teams focused on the ongoing management of their retirement business. His national and global experience has provided a rich education in best practices and the value of a client-centric relationship. There is no substitute for putting clients first, and T. Rowe Price has successfully woven this value into the fabric of the organization over the last 85 years. He lives by the values he learned from an early age; be authentic and consistent, serve others, and earn their respect. Integrity is an essential component of a well-lived life, and he believes in the power of coaching and mentoring future generations. In this episode, Eric and Michael Doshier discuss:Why CITs are becoming more preferred The transition to CIT structure The growing emphasis on implementing retirement income strategies The connection of financial wellness with satisfaction and retentionKey Takeaways:CITs (Collective Investment Trusts) gaining popularity due to lower costs and increasing transparency, facilitating the transition from mutual funds. Consultants and advisors overwhelmingly prefer the blend/hybrid Target Date Fund (TDF) approach over pure active or passive strategies, integrating cost-efficiency with potential alpha generation. The T. Rowe Price study referenced discovered that 49% of TDF assets in DC plans are now in CIT structures, with a significant shift expected in 2024. The study also highlights the strong preference for blend strategies (active and passive) in target date funds, with 97% of consultants and advisors favoring this approach. While large plans have been implementing retirement income strategies for years, smaller plans are just starting to consider them. The study reveals that 10-20% of consultants and advisors have a dedicated process for evaluating retirement income products, with many more working on it.Financial wellness programs are increasingly being seen as valuable for overall worker satisfaction and retention, with 90% of firms now able to measure their impact. There are three main categories of financial wellness offerings: traditional accumulation savings, near-term savings goals, and in-retirement mechanisms.“Is financial wellness worth the investment? Is it worth the cost? I think the answer is coming back very loud and clear from these 35 firms: absolutely yes!” - Michael DoshierConnect with Michael Doshier:Website: https://www.troweprice.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaelgdoshier/ Connect with Eric Dyson: Website: https://90northllc.com/Phone: 940-248-4800Email: contact@90northllc.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/401kguy/ The information and content of this podcast is general in nature and is provided solely for educational and informational purposes. Jay draws comparisons between selling a practice and other major purchases, like buying a home or car, where people often overlook important factors due to their limited view. He discusses the concept of bias and how it influences decision-making, particularly when it comes to buying and selling. He stresses that obtaining a full 360-degree view allows for more informed, strategic decisions, which can prevent costly mistakes. Jay concludes with an invitation to a limited event focused on gaining a comprehensive perspective on selling a practice, aimed at helping attendees make better decisions.

Catholics read the Scriptures: Commentary on Benedict XVI's Verbum Domini by Bevil Bramwell OMIBenedict XVI's exhortation Verbum Domini is a concise summary of the theology of Scripture in the Catholic Church. This book is a graduate level analysis of the Catholic use of Scripture in prayer, liturgy and theology, as it is found in Benedict's exhortation. He also shows the possible uses of the modern tools of exegesis and their limitations when dealing with the Word given by God to his Church. The problem with this kind of tinkering was that one has to be expert in theological anthropology, in Christology and at least some philosophical hermeneutics. The highly developed skills that were demanded led to less able scholars treating the scriptures as a palimpsest on which they could write their own gospel so to speak. The issue of the unique nature of the sacred scriptures such that their only possibility of being understood lies in the tradition that gave them birth and that remains in union with them.Benedict XVI spotted this historical development and included a substantial theology of scripture and tradition in his presentation of the results of the Synod in 2008. As a result, in passing, he outlined a substantial educational project commensurate with the substantial reality that we call the scriptures. If it were ever to be implemented it would transform departments of scripture and the entire conception of how seminary education is carried out.Fr. Marketing today is about being data-driven and understanding who your customers are. Developing a holistic view of the customer is about to get harder, though, thanks to a new world we’re all about to enter: a world without cookies. “If you are really heavy on third-party data, then you are going to be impacted the most. If you have built a good first-party data strategy and have enough data, you can survive longer. Based on my experience, third-party data wasn't always working or effective. The best way to navigate this is to start building up your first-party. This may be complex for some, but if they start small and slow they can still catch up.”Meet Mazen Mroueh, Head of Global Digital Factory for Frieslandcampina, one of the world’s largest dairy factories. On this episode of Marketing Trends, Mazen tackles the tough question of how marketers can best prepare themselves for a future without cookies and what it will take to build up their first-party data.. Plus, Mazen shares his outlook for what marketers can expect in a post-COVID world and why there is no view quite like a 360-degree look of your customers.Main TakeawaysBut Where Have all the Cookies Gone?: Companies that have been reliant on third-party data are going to have a hard time with the transition to a cookieless world. To help ease that transition to a cookieless world, marketers must start thinking about their strategies to build up their first-party data. Developing A 360-Degree View: The objective for every marketer is to continuously be collecting data, but marketers must make sure that whatever data they gather lives under one unified roof rather than being diverted to different silos. When your data lives in multiple places, it becomes harder to connect all your digital touchpoints. Having a single source of data not only eliminates that friction, but allows your team to gather insights at a quicker pace. The Next Big Shift: The skills a marketer needs to be successful are continuing to shift. While marketers must continue to be data literate, they must also be able to most quickly and effectively. The next wave of marketers will be less about possessing a specific knowledge or skill set, and more about being flexible.---It's time to reconnect at Connections 2021! American Water Works Association CEO David LaFrance joins Mahesh Lunani for a 360-degree look at the water sector. We start with the financial impact COVID-19 has had on the industry. This leads into a discussion on the public's trust of the water sector. Which groups trust it more than others? We also look at water rates in the US. Are they under rated? The water sector is both highly regulated, and highly fragmented. We look forward to major drivers and trends that will affect both of these areas. Finally, we discuss water sector supply chains, and the future of the water workforce as it faces a "silver tsunami" of retirees. What aspects of the sector are appealing to a new generation of water professionals?More info: American Water Works Association Website: https://www.awwa.org/Aquasight Website: https://www.aquasight.io/

He was most recently appointed to the role of Associate Vice President for Strategic and Academic Affairs at UF Health. As mentees, according to Dr. Adrian Tyndall, we must be bold in pursuing mentors. Today, Dr. Tyndall explains how mentorship is a bi-directional relationship: The mentee must actively show interest in the mentor and their areas of research, and in turn, this will activate the intrinsic motivation in that mentor to invest their time in the mentee. Simply put, it's all about give and take. On top of that, we'll learn how mentorship is helpful in self-reflection: All of us have blind spots, and we're able to achieve a “360 degree view” of our trajectory when we ask for guidance from mentors and peers. And Dr. Tyndall reminds us that if we look around and we don't like what we see, we have to have the courage to adjust our forward trajectory. Pearls of Wisdom: 1. Mentorship is a bi-directional relationship. As the mentee, we need to show our interest in the mentor and their work. In turn, that will activate a mentor's intrinsic motivation in the mentee. 2. As physicians, we need to know how to refuel our energy tank. Self-reflection is key, and seeking guidance from those around us will give us a 360 degree view of our journey. 3. There are four core values to live by in medicine (especially as a student): Self-reflection, balance, confidence, humility.
What path do we take in each and every thing we do? How do we conserve energy and thereby make things easier? Host Guy Masse attempts to answer these and other questions. Our guest today is Reginald Dwayne Betts, a poet, memoirist, and legal scholar. Loyal listeners will remember our conversation from March of 2019. The episode was called “A Poet Gives a 360 Degree View of The Criminal Legal System,” and we talked about Dwayne’s journey from a teenage defendant sentenced to 9 years in prison to a Yale Law School graduate and published poet. A lot has happened since we last spoke. Dwayne published a new book of poetry called Felon and had an exhibit at P.S. 1 MoMA with painter Titus Kaphar called Redaction. If that wasn't enough, Dwayne also completed a clerkship with a federal judge and is pursuing a PhD in law at Yale. And of course, this episode is being recorded months into a global pandemic, that poses particular risks for people in detention. Today we’ll discuss the impact COVID-19 is having on incarcerated people, what we should do to support the thousands of people who are getting out of detention as a result of the efforts by the ACLU and others, and how art can help us get through these uncertain times. This episode of Food for Thought is an engaging, entertaining and insightful conversation with elite ultra-runner, Jeff Browning (aka Broncobilly), winner of The 2019 Bear 100 in 19:06 and Marc Sanderson who finished 173rd out of 204 finishers in 34:55 yielding a 360 degree view of what it's like to run a 100 Mile trail mountain ultra. This year's version of 'The Bear' lived up to it's name with some of the worst conditions in the history of the race. To give perspective Jeff's time reflects not only his level of ability and training but also the simple fact he was fortunate to outrun the weather whereas Mark was caught in it.....so were some of Jeff's clients whom he coaches. A lot of time is spent on the huge challenges faced by middle and back of the pack runners and the enduring grit that makes up the sport of ultrarunning. The sport's ultra-inclusiveness is also discussed in the conversation another reason so many people are drawn to the challenge of ultras.....while it is a personal journey of transformation the camaraderie and support to bring everyone along to persevere and overcome the challenge is what makes competition truly great....we all get better as a result. Both Jeff and Mark are 48 years old, have extensive ultra-running resumes they bring to this conversation but more so they both have fascinating personal journeys of overcoming health challenges. After several years of having severe GI issues which were only worsening, in late 2015 Jeff made the switch to OFM and the use of Vespa from a Primal diet and conventional fueling in his ultras. Since that time he has never looked back. His performance skyrocketed with an overall win in his first race just a month into the program at the 2016 HURT 100 and since then Jeff has risen to be one of the top elite ultra-runners at the 100 Mile Mountain Ultra Distance with wins at HURT, Hardrock, Bear, and, most recently Bloodrock tying Ann Trason for lifetime wins at the distance at 22 wins. Marc Sanderson is equally experienced having dozens of ultras including several 100+ mile distance ultras. In 2004 he completed the coveted Grand Slam of Ultrarunning completing Western States in under 24 hours, Vermont in under 20 hours, Leadville in just over 27 hours and Wasatch in just over 28 hours. During a random checkup in 2016 and completely asymptomatic Marc was diagnosed with Stage IV Mantle cell Lymphoma and immediately went into chemotherapy. Less than 2 years later Marc returned to ultra-running but with a different mindset. After his battle with Lymphoma he realized that, in spite of the training he needed to do more and that he could not outrun a diet that was not optimal. In the summer of 2019, 2 years after his diagnosis he made the switch to OFM and 3 months later he completed The Bear, his first 100 after beating cancer! Here is his email: ---------- Forwarded message ---------From: Marc Sanderson Date: Tue, Jul 9, 2019 at 5:08 PMSubject: Re: New customer message on July 7, 2019 at 7:19 pmTo: Pam Miller Peter,It’s been a few years - hope you are doing great?I’ve been through the ringer the last couple of years — Lucky for me I work for a hospital, had a random cardiac calcium scan and found myself with a stage 4 Mantel Cell Lymphoma. I’m two years post stem cell transplant and doing great. I’m needing to make a come back running and I’m having a hell of a time dropping the extra 20 lbs gained through my treatment in combination with just not being able to run like I did before being sick. I’m going to run my first 100 since being diagnosed at the end of September this year and was wondering if you felt, given my circumstances that I could benefit from VESPA. I used it on and off years ago after meeting you at one of the race expos and really felt like it help with a couple races that I ran..... but like alway, cost and consistency was a struggle. I need something..... I read every damn email I get from VESPA and I feel like it is something that I need to give a go with?? I would love an opportunity to chat with you again, I’m looking for some advice on weight loss and then coming back from my cancer treatments that damn near killed me. I did crazy high doses of chemo living inpatient at Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City over six months leading to my stem cell transplant. I need to fix myself or just give up the idea of ever competing again and just be happy that I’m alive? I have a great attitude towards life, I’m committed to fix myself or at least give it one hell of a go!! I just turned 48 and would love not only to break the course record at the Utah Valley Marathon for the 50 age group in two years by running a sub 3 hour again but also to be able to enjoy the long distance running events 50k, 100k and 100 milers? Sorry for the long email, I just feel like you could help me — it’s the reason I’m reaching out. Thanks for reading, I’d make myself available to talk, email or if needed —I’d fly down and have myself a one on one evaluation, discussion/appointment..... that’s how bad I need to do something different, because my way is not working. Marc Sanderson Enjoy the conversation! Please share if you enjoy this episode.

When interacting with a brand, the consumer expects personalized communication that speaks directly to them. Bernie’s guest on this episode discusses how to bridge marketing, sales, and service to deliver a great experience to the modern consumer. Niki Hall, CMO of Selligent an intelligent digital marketing technology platform designed to create holistic marketing campaigns shares how creating an Omni-channel marketing communication plan results in a better customer experience resulting in higher engagement and higher conversions with consumers. Succeeding in the digital age requires an integrated rather than siloed view of customer engagement. The information that the sales and marketing departments obtain should be available to those in customer service and in real-time. Listen in as Niki shares how this is not only possible but also preferable from the consumer perspective. She shares how Selligent has created a solution for intra-department integration that buyers love because it creates a relevant experience. This episode is brought to you by Gong.io, the number one conversation intelligence platform for sales. Gong helps you achieve revenue success, skyrocket rep performance and gain critical market intelligence. Get powerful visibility into your customer conversations with Gong. Head to www.gong.io to get started. Why Brands Should Bridge The Gaps Between Sales, Marketing, and Service The modern connected consumer expects much more than previous generations when it comes to individualized communication. Consumers want to be spoken to individually. When brand messaging is clear and consistent across all digital channels, customers feel heard. Then enter intelligent platforms like Selligent Marketing Cloud that allow businesses to harness customer data and share that information across internal departments. Brand messaging becomes consistent and individualized content and timing helps consumers connect with the right product or service with just the right information in the moment. Today’s consumer is constantly marketed at, using shared data allows businesses to market to their buyers in the moment, ensuring the communication is timely and relevant. Breaking Down Silos With AI Niki shares a couple of poignant examples of how various brands use AI to break down the silos of marketing, sales, and service. Most notably, she mentions how Coollue, a Dutch retailer similar to BestBuy, uses AI to create a seamless customer experience. Prior to integrating AI, the customer would make a purchase, but then a breakdown would occur when they had questions about how to use the product. With AI-powered intelligent marketing technology, Coolblue tracks the buyer journey, and within moments of receiving their shipment, the customer receives an email with a how-to video on the use of the product. Coolblue has experienced a 30% reduction in returns and a 28% increase in cross-sell conversions. They also converted many of their customer service agents to inside sales reps because the customer had fewer customer service related questions. How cool is that?! How To Keep Up With The Expectations Of The Connected Consumer As AI becomes more prevalent, the question becomes how do brands keep up with the ever-rising bar of consumer expectations? Many brands have turned to more personal means of communication. The key is making sure the consumer receives targeted communication that connects with the consumer’s specific interests in their journey with a brand. The increased efficacy of digital marketing technology as consumer data gets smarter enables brands to segment their buyers. For instance, one UK retailer sends out coupons at the exact time a buyer is looking to purchase. This is possible only because of the ability of data mining platforms to zero in on buyer intent cues. Implementation Is The Key To Engaging The Connected Consumer Having information about the consumer is not enough, brands must use the information effectively to create an experience the connected consumer will love. By empowering customer contact centers with access to consumer interaction history, the conversation turns from one of fact-finding to providing solutions which leads to a happier customer. To do this, CRM,, website, SMS and email medium must all communicate and share customer information, which is where intelligent marketing platforms come into play. The connected consumer is everywhere. We all have multiple sources of input and data that we interact with every day across multiple devices. The role of today’s modern marketer is to pull that information into a relevant conversation with the consumer. This requires breaking down the silos of marketing, sales, and service by enabling them to sync up in real-time to create great in-the-moment consumer experiences. Shekar highlights the crucial role data integrations and APIs play in driving innovation, efficiency, and agility in the manufacturing sector. 2:57 - Digital DisruptionShekar: Manufacturing, just like any other industry, is being impacted by digital disruption...there's data scattered across different systems, and… unless you connect these systems together, you have what you call data silos. 3:58 - The MatrixAndrew: I have this mental image of disparate databases housing lots of data, machines on the shop floor streaming lots of data, suppliers in your supply chain both upstream and downstream... and it just seems like the scene from the Matrix where you see all this data just flowing everywhere and you don't really know how to make sense of it. 7:40 - Integration Use CasesShekar: So, let's break it down into the business goals of why a company would connect data. Streamlining product design and development could be one use case… a great example is retail, where a clothing that is in fashion today may not be six months from now. So, the way you handle that is to set up your systems to support agile manufacturing. So, a product is designed and that's pushed by the design team into production. The production team does a prototype. That goes into quality and testing and eventually into production and deployment, and then you get feedback from your customers on how they like it. That input comes from various channels like we talked about earlier... social, [and sales] and different data points. So just there, you have one use case where companies are trying to streamline their design and development through integration and how the data flows through different systems, from PLM to production, distribution, and back to the design team for continuous improvement. 11:04 - IoTAndrew: I think that's a good segue into the Internet of Things, and the blending of machines and humans. 12:03 - Predictive MaintenanceShekar: Yeah, absolutely. A great example would be a machine that is working 'round the clock because companies can’t afford downtime. And then, eventually, for you to do preventative maintenance, you need to know the cycle time, maybe other variables are of interest, like your temperature, your pressure... You need data to come in real time from these devices back to tracking systems so that way you can plan. 13:30 - Proactive ServiceAndrew: This is also giving manufacturers more power to provide additional services and support to the end customer. So, getting more into the predictive aspect of the business so that they can proactively go out and service or support things before a customer even knows that they may be experiencing downtime.14:40 - Industry 4.0 Starts with IntegrationShekar: At Jitterbit, we surveyed hundreds of manufacturers globally, and the insight we got is only about 1/3 have a cohesive strategy to implement Industry 4.0. At the end of the day, if you want to get more ROI, if you want to deliver great customer experiences, digitize your processes, be agile enough to respond to changing market needs... if you want to do all of that, you have to have a strategy in place. And that strategy starts with integration.Links: From the shop floor to customer experience, data drives manufacturingConnect with Shekar

Most treasurers lean toward the informal side of the spectrum of relationship management categorizing their relationships in tiers. On this episode of the podcast, Craig Jeffery and Stephanie Villatoro of Strategic Treasurer examine the business of bank relationship management. Listen in on the discussion.
