Some things in healthcare are forgivable mistakes. This wasn't one of them. Kristin and I dive into the shocking story of a group of healthcare workers who thought it was a good idea to post exam-room paper from pelvic exams online. Spoiler: they're not working in medicine anymore. But the fallout reveals something bigger, the fragile state of public trust in doctors and what happens when we keep shooting ourselves in the foot on social media. From trust erosion to the silent majority who never comment but always scroll, from a VIP invite to a hallucinogenic retreat in Spain (yes, really), all the way to an impromptu crash course on antihistamines, you'll see how one bad decision sparks a conversation that medicine can't afford to ignore. Takeaways: The Social Media Disaster – Why one group of healthcare workers instantly lost their careers. Trust is Everything – The word medicine should focus on for the next decade. The Silent Majority – Why the people who don't comment may matter most online. Ayahuasca VIP Invite – The bizarre email that landed in my inbox. California's AI Law, Malicious MCP Server, Microsoft Marketplace Overhaul & VMware Migration

    Business of Tech

The episode starts with the passage of California's groundbreaking AI transparency law, marking the first legislation in the United States that mandates large AI companies to disclose their safety protocols and provide whistleblower protections. This law applies to major AI labs like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind, requiring them to report critical safety incidents to California's Office of Emergency Services and ensure safety for communities while promoting AI growth. This regulation is a clear signal that the compliance wave surrounding AI is real, with California leading the charge in shaping the future of AI governance. The second story delves into a new cybersecurity risk in the form of the first known malicious Model Context Protocol (MCP) server discovered in the wild. A rogue npm package, "postmark-mcp," was found to be forwarding email data to an external address, exposing sensitive communications. This incident raises concerns about the security of software supply chains and highlights how highly trusted systems like MCP servers are being exploited. Service providers are urged to be vigilant, as this attack marks the emergence of a new vulnerability within increasingly complex software environments.Moving to Microsoft, the company is revamping its Marketplace to introduce stricter partner rules and enhanced discoverability for partner solutions. Microsoft's new initiative, Intune for MSPs, aims to address the needs of managed service providers who have long struggled with multi-tenancy management. Additionally, the company's new "Agent Mode" in Excel and Word promises to streamline productivity by automating tasks but has raised concerns over its accuracy. Despite the potential, Microsoft's tightening ecosystem requires careful navigation for both customers and partners, with compliance and risk management being central to successful engagement. Finally, Broadcom's decision to end support for VMware vSphere 7 has left customers with difficult decisions. As part of Broadcom's transition to a subscription-based model, customers face either costly upgrades, cloud migrations, or reliance on third-party support. Gartner predicts that a significant number of VMware customers will migrate to the cloud in the coming years, and this shift presents a valuable opportunity for service providers to act as trusted advisors in guiding clients through the transition. For those who can manage the complexity of this migration, there's a once-in-a-generation opportunity to capture long-term customer loyalty. Three things to know today00:00 California Enacts Nation's First AI Transparency Law, Mandating Safety Disclosures and Whistleblower Protections05:25 First Malicious MCP Server Discovered, Exposing Email Data and Raising New Software Supply Chain Fears07:16 Microsoft's New Playbook: Stricter Marketplace, Finally Some MSP Love, and AI That's Right Only Half the Time11:07 VMware Customers Face Subscription Shift, Rising Cloud Moves, and Risky Alternatives as Broadcom Ends vSphere 7 This is the Business of Tech.   Supported by: https://scalepad.com/dave/https://mailprotector.com/ Webinar:  https://bit.ly/msprmail All our Sponsors: https://businessof.tech/sponsors/ Do you want the show on your podcast app or the written versions of the stories? Microsoft, Oracle + OpenAI: $1 Trillion into AI Data Centers

In today's Cloud Wars Minute, I explore how Microsoft and Oracle are battling for AI data center supremacy.Highlights00:15 — I want to talk about a couple of high-disruption companies — actually, three: Microsoft, Oracle, and OpenAI. And I think right now, it's safe to say that those three companies, together with SoftBank, are pursuing investments upwards of a trillion dollars in what they're calling AI data centers. I think this is a great thing for them to do.01:19 — Microsoft has become more vocal about its role and leadership in these areas. Oracle, OpenAI, and SoftBank are jointly building what is called Stargate, sort of the infrastructure brand for OpenAI. Now, Microsoft has introduced its own brand for its AI data centers, Fairwater. It's in the final stages of building what it is calling the world's most powerful AI data center.02:18 — And I have no doubt that fairly soon, we're going to hear from Google Cloud about some of its plans. I am less sanguine, in some ways, about what Amazon and AWS might do. I know that runs contrary to what a lot of people like to say — that AWS is still the king of the cloud. I haven't — you know, I just haven't taken that seriously in the last two or three years.03:14 — So, Microsoft is doing very well with AI. Now, OpenAI, led by Sam Altman — they're still doing some work with Microsoft on the cloud and AI. But it's putting — starting in a year or two — a $300 billion investment with Oracle to build a chain of just absolutely staggeringly big, powerful data centers under the Stargate name.04:09 — It'll work with Oracle very closely on that. They're also — in concert in some places and separately in others — pursuing some new data center deals with SoftBank. So OpenAI is working with Microsoft, working with Oracle, working with SoftBank — all in different ways. Oracle also has its own data center network for its rapidly growing cloud and AI business.05:01 — So lots of talk right now, lots of action, lots of investment going into this. But ultimately, the beneficiaries of all this incredible — what I think is unprecedented — competition, will be businesses and regular individuals like you and me. Visit Cloud Wars for more.

Today's Headlines: Trump is sending troops to Portland to “protect” ICE facilities he claims are under Antifa siege, though Oregon's governor says there's no threat—just protests. This follows his new directive labeling Antifa a “domestic terrorist organization” (which isn't a real legal thing), with criteria for identifying extremists that sound like a laundry list of being vaguely left-wing. It's all feeding into DOJ efforts to investigate George Soros' Open Society Foundation. Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has summoned nearly 800 generals to Virginia for a rare “warrior ethos” pep talk. Trump says it's all about “esprit de corps.” Meanwhile, Sinclair and Nexstar backed off their Jimmy Kimmel ban, Trump is now demanding Microsoft fire exec Lisa Monaco after a Laura Loomer nudge and DNI Tulsi Gabbard killed the long-term global threats report. Additonally, the DOJ is suing six states over voter registration data and a Michigan church massacre left four dead and more injured. Netanyahu's UN speech sparked a massive walkout, and NYC's Eric Adams dropped out of his own reelection bid. In Congress, Republicans are stalling the swearing-in of a new Democrat to block the Epstein files petition, even as Marjorie Taylor Greene swears she's “not suicidal” while backing it. And, just to keep things weird, Trump wants the government to release the Amelia Earhart files. IT Services Near $3 Trillion Growth: AI, Cloud, and Legacy Systems Drive Change

The global IT services market is projected to grow significantly, reaching nearly $3 trillion by 2033, driven by the increasing adoption of cloud services, digital transformation, and a rising demand for automation and cybersecurity solutions. Proactive IT services currently dominate the market, accounting for over half of the share, particularly in heavily regulated sectors like banking, financial services, and healthcare. However, the growth of AI adoption is being hindered by spiraling legacy IT costs, which stall modernization efforts and create opportunities for IT service providers to assist organizations in bridging the gap between outdated systems and modern solutions.Investment in artificial intelligence is also on the rise, with global spending expected to reach nearly $1.5 trillion this year and surpass $2 trillion next year. The focus of this investment is broadening beyond traditional tech giants, with significant contributions from Chinese companies and new AI cloud providers. Despite concerns about job displacement due to AI, a recent survey indicates that most business leaders believe AI will enhance employee support rather than lead to significant job cuts. This highlights the importance of training and change management as organizations adapt to new technologies.Major players in the IT sector, such as Microsoft, Intuit, and OpenAI, are making significant advancements in their AI offerings. Microsoft has launched a centralized AI marketplace, integrating thousands of applications to simplify access for businesses. Intuit has improved its generative AI operating system for financial management, while OpenAI has introduced collaborative features for ChatGPT, enhancing team productivity. These developments underscore the competitive landscape as companies race to control the AI stack and provide valuable tools for enterprises. As organizations face the challenges of legacy IT systems and the need for modernization, IT service providers have a crucial role to play. They must help clients navigate the complexities of integrating new technologies while managing the human side of the transition. The emphasis on proactive services, employee training, and effective change management will be essential for businesses to thrive in an increasingly AI-driven environment. The future of IT services lies not just in technological advancements but in the ability to support clients through their transformation journeys.Three things to know today 00:00 Proactive IT Services Lead $1.5 Trillion Market, Banking and Healthcare Fuel Demand05:57 Legacy IT Costs Surging, Report Finds, Forcing Enterprises Toward Modernization07:45 From Marketplaces to Machine Learning: Tech Giants Position AI as Core Business Infrastructure This is the Business of Tech.    Supported by: https://timezest.com/mspradio/https://mailprotector.com/ Webinar:   https://bit.ly/msprmail All our Sponsors: https://businessof.tech/sponsors/ Do you want the show on your podcast app or the written versions of the stories? News and Updates: Apple iOS 26 delivers one of the biggest iPhone upgrades in years. The new Liquid Glass interface adds a translucent, holographic look, while Spatial Scenes uses AI to turn photos into dynamic 3D wallpapers. Major app redesigns include a cleaner Camera for one-handed use, a simplified Photos layout, customizable Messages with polls and chat backgrounds, and an upgraded Lock Screen. New Battery Settings now estimate charging times and debut Adaptive Power Mode (on iPhone 15 Pro+). But the flashy Liquid Glass design has drawn complaints of eye strain, dizziness, and legibility issues, with Apple offering accessibility tweaks as workarounds. Intel + Nvidia struck a $5B partnership that could reshape PCs. Nvidia bought a 4–5% stake in Intel, and the two are co-developing hybrid CPUs with Nvidia GPU chiplets connected via NVLink. These SoCs could boost AI PCs, power slimmer gaming laptops, and bring workstation-level performance to mini desktops — potentially blurring the line between integrated and discrete graphics. Nvidia + OpenAI announced a massive $100B investment deal. Nvidia will fund the buildout of 10 gigawatts of AI data centers using its upcoming Vera Rubin chips, more than doubling today's top AI hardware. The arrangement lets Nvidia recycle investment into chip sales while giving OpenAI infrastructure to push toward “superintelligence.” The deal lifted Nvidia's market cap to nearly $4.5T, the largest in the world. SpaceX Starlink filed to launch up to 15,000 new satellites to supercharge its direct-to-cell service. The move follows a $17B spectrum deal with EchoStar and will boost capacity 20-fold, enabling LTE-like performance for calls and messaging in dead zones. T-Mobile remains the US launch partner, but CEO Elon Musk hinted SpaceX could eventually sell mobile service directly, competing with carriers. Microsoft is injecting Copilot into all Microsoft 365 accounts, unless you manually use the Customization feature to stop the auto install.

What if the AI boom isn't about innovation—but about wiping out the middle class? In this bombshell episode of Dropping Bombs, I sit down with Perry Belcher—marketing legend, co-founder of DigitalMarketer and Traffic & Conversion Summit, nicknamed “The Billion Dollar Man” for generating billions in sales.   Perry drops hard truths about the AI apocalypse barreling toward us: how Microsoft, Amazon, and OpenAI are slashing $150K jobs for million-dollar machines, and why it's creating an opulent era for the rich while erasing everyone else. Drawing chilling parallels to historical slavery for economic dominance, he exposes how Big Tech is engineering control—not opportunity.   But here's the twist—you can survive the shift. Perry breaks down insider hacks on branding, aesthetics over copy, and pressure prompting AI so you outsmart the system instead of being crushed by it. From his $750M Bezos regret to why design trumps everything in 2025, this is the raw playbook for anyone who refuses to get left behind.

Identity-First AI, Growth Marketing & Entrepreneurial Mindset with Rodolfo Salazar

    The Proven Entrepreneur

What happens when a founder treats AI like hiring Albert Einstein—brilliant, but useless without a clear brief? In this vivid conversation on The Proven Entrepreneur Show, host Don Williams reconnects with long‑time friend Rodolfo Salazar from San Salvador, El Salvador, and together they chart a journey that begins with surf breaks near Surf City, detours through global boardrooms, and lands on a playbook any growth‑minded leader can use today. You'll step into Rodolfo's world as he moves from early entrepreneurship to executive roles at Sprint, Telefónica, Microsoft, and Dell, then into the contact‑center universe with a major BPO that ultimately ties to Convergys—an experience that reveals how large‑scale service operations can transform a country's economy. When a values test at the top levels forces a hard choice, Rodolfo chooses character over comfort, exits the corporate ladder, and returns to building. That decision sets the stage for IdeaWorks, then a post‑pandemic rebirth as Q‑DOX (spelled Q‑U‑D‑O‑X)—a growth company designed for a world where change arrives faster than most leaders' planning cycles.Across the episode, Don and Rodolfo unwind a deeply practical theme: identity‑first AI. AI, Rodolfo insists, is not your identity; it's your instrument. He illustrates this with a memorable story: if you ask “Einstein” to bring you pupusas from Galerías del Escalón and give him no context (what a pupusa is, where the mall is, which route to take on Waze), you'll get clever nonsense instead of useful action. Leaders, he argues, must supply context, constraints, and clarity—precisely the same foundations they owe their teams. That mindset folds into a broader operating model: stop buying isolated tactics and start assembling a growth ecosystem that compounds—website and messaging, content engine, analytics, automation, and AI co‑pilots working in one feedback loop. Rodolfo is candid about the scars too: the time he tried to scale offices across multiple Central American countries at once. The “cookie‑cutter” expansion failed because every market carried different partners, people, and variables. The fix was counterintuitive but powerful—centralize what must be controlled, open commercial presence thoughtfully, and scale only what the system can sustain. If you lead a company—owner, founder, or top‑management—this episode will feel like a field guide. You'll hear how to bake a DNA of change into your culture so the brand evolves deliberately, not reactively. You'll come away with a leadership stance that AI can't replace: clarity in communication, empathy for customers and teams, and creativity born from trial and error. You'll also hear how E‑E‑A‑T‑style credibility—first‑hand experience, proof, and transparency—earns trust with customers and, increasingly, with the systems that surface your content. Along the way, Don and Rodolfo name‑check the places and forces that shaped the journey—El Salvador, Latin America, cross‑border work from the U.S. to Singapore, and the contact‑center industry's outsized role in lifting entire job markets—while weaving in cultural details that make the story human.Come for the origin story, stay for the operating system. If you've wondered how to harness AI without losing who you are—or how to build a growth marketing engine that keeps learning—this conversation delivers a rare blend of philosophy, playbook, and humility. Press play, and let two seasoned operators show you how identity guides strategy, strategy guides prompts, and prompts guide results.Entities & Mentions:Host: Don WilliamsGuest: Rodolfo SalazarCompanies: iDigital Studios, QDOX, Microsoft, Dell, Telefonica, Sprint
