fWotD Episode 2933: IMac G4 Welcome to Featured Wiki of the Day, your daily dose of knowledge from Wikipedia's finest articles.The featured article for Friday, 16 May 2025, is IMac G4.The iMac G4 is an all-in-one personal computer designed, manufactured, and sold by Apple Computer from January 2002 to August 2004. The computer is comprised of a hemispheric base that holds the computer components, including the PowerPC G4 processor, with a flatscreen liquid-crystal display (LCD) mounted above. The display is connected to the base via an adjustable arm that allows the monitor to be tilted and swiveled.Apple's previous release, the iMac G3 (1998), was a commercial success for Apple at a time when the company was close to bankruptcy. As component prices fell, Apple began envisioning a replacement based around an LCD instead of the G3's bulky cathode-ray tube. The resulting iMac G4 took two years to develop. The new iMac's shape was inspired by a sunflower, with Apple's design team exploring different ways of attaching the monitor to the base before settling on a single stainless steel arm. The iMac G4 eschewed the colorful translucency of the iMac G3 in favor of opaque white.The iMac G4 was announced at the Macworld San Francisco trade show on January 7, 2002, and began shipping that month. The model was updated over the years with faster internal components and larger LCDs. The iMac G4 was a critical and commercial success for Apple, selling more than 1.3 million units in its first year and roughly 3.1 million units alongside the eMac in its lifetime. We interviewed Annette Logsdon-Rodriguez of Proximity Learning and discussed the teacher shortage issues within Rural Education and how companies like Proximity Learning meet these challenges through synchronous online learning. Despite the reviews the iMac was an immediate commercial success, becoming Apple's fastest-selling computer. Let's be honest, the present is overrated: rage-fueled social media, the death of our favorite artists, Crocs...So, when Chris discovers a time travel music app powered by nostalgia, he ditches our current dystopia and shimmers to the 1970s  to create a better future for himself in the past. Using his knowledge to invest in little startups like Apple Computers and Microsoft, Chris will find there's more to upending the time/space continuum than getting rich, something more personal.

Nina Bergman is an actress, singer, songwriter and model. She was born in Denmark and is the granddaughter of Russia's greatest actor, Pavel Kadochnikov. Nina spent her early childhood traveling around Europe with her Russian Gypsy grandparents. At 14, she received a scholarship to the musical theatre school Urdang Academy in London. A year later, she found herself in Moscow attending the world-famous Bolshoi Theatre. From there, she moved to New York City and was accepted at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. In this episode, I speak with Dave about his journey to becoming the first podcaster in the field of psychology and his prolific career publishing over a 1,000 interviews. Dave explained that he had learned about podcasting very early on and it fit with his interest in radio, which, as a teenager, he got involved with amateur radio, had taken the FCC exams, and built his own components. This lead him to go to college to study electrical engineering, but he quickly learned that his high school had not prepared him for an engineering major. He said he took a Psychology 101 course, but it was completely focused on behaviorism, which turned him off to the field, and instead got a degree in creative writing. At the end of college, he explained that a friend told him he was studying to become a Rogerian psychologist, which sounded interesting, and Dave had always enjoyed helping people with their problems, so he took an abnormal Psychology class, and then went to graduate school for a doctorate in psychology. Dave discussed how his graduate school was focused on psychoanalytic theory, which he didn't find to be a good fit for him, so he gravitated more towards Humanistic Psychology. He discussed running encounter groups and we discussed the Human Potential Movement in the 60s and how he and others were seeking alternative perspectives. He explained that he had published articles in the Human Behavior journal and after learning about podcasting, thought that interviewing his fellow professors at Sonoma. State University where he met, which was Humanistically focused, would be a great way to begin his program Shrink Rap Radio and Wise Counsel. We discussed that during the 80s, when personal computers were becoming more popular, he became interested in the tech and business world, and began doing market research focus groups, and used online focus groups in the early days of the internet. He continued this work while he taught, had a psychotherapy practice and all of these skills assisted him in his podcast interviews. He explained that he challenged himself to be open to a wide variety of perspective, interviewing a broad range of clinicians and non-clinicians. Dave lastly discussed his interest in Positive Psychology and how he saw it as an outgrowth of Humanistic psychotherapy, and how Positive Psychology's coaching aspects have been adopted in the business world. David Van Nuys, Ph.D. is past-chair and professor emeritus in Psychology at Sonoma State University, a department with an international reputation for humanistic, existential, and transpersonal psychology. He also taught at the University of Montana, the University of Michigan, and the University of New Hampshire. In addition, David runs a market research business, e-FocusGroups, which has served a distinguished list of clients, including The New York Times, Apple Computer, IBM, Hewlett Packard, and QuickenLoans, among others. He leads personal growth workshops at various growth centers around the U.S. and abroad. David earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Michigan and has worked as a licensed psychotherapist in both New Hampshire and California. A frequent public speaker, he has also published in professional journals, popular magazines, and co-authored a book on the infamous Zodiac serial killer. He also produces two popular podcasts: Shrink Rap Radio and Wise Counsel. David is a longtime dreamworker himself and a past IASD presenter and for many years taught a course on Myth, Dream, and Symbol at Sonoma State University. In 2018, he received an award from the American Psychological Association for his pioneering podcast, Shrink Rap Radio. The award was presented at Harvard University by the APA president before a crowd of several hundred educational podcasters. Since 2005, he has conducted around one thousand interviews with movers and shakers around the broad world of psychology (including dreamworkers , dream researchers, and Jungian analysts).

Das Gehirn ist also unser persönlicher Microsoft oder Apple- Computer. Mit dem Gehirn können wir denken. Mit dem Gehirn können wir aber auch fühlen. Wir können zum Beispiel Schmerz fühlen. Was aber ist auf dem Kopf? Auf dem Kopf sind die Haare. Welche Frisur hast Du? Es gibt Frisuren mit kurzen Haaren und Frisuren mit langen Haaren. Hast Du kurze oder lange Haare? Ich habe kurze Haare. Welche Farbe haben Deine Haare? Meine Haare sind braun. Es gibt auch blonde Haare, schwarze Haare oder rote Haare. Rote Haare sind sehr selten. Der Kopf hat außerdem Augen. Mit den Augen können wir sehen, zum Beispiel einen Regenbogen. Die Augen von Menschen können unterschiedliche Farben haben. Welche Farben haben Deine Augen? Meine Augen sind blau. Es gibt aber auch braune Augen oder grüne Augen. Grüne Augen sind sehr selten. Aber alle Farben sind sehr schön.  Welche Körperteile hat der Kopf noch? Der Kopf hat außerdem die Nase. Mit der Nase können wir riechen. Der Kopf hat außerdem den Mund. Mit dem Mund können wir essen und trinken. Im Mund sind die Zähne. Die Zähne sind sehr wichtig, um zu essen. Mit dem Mund können wir auch sprechen, zum Beispiel einen Podcast einsprechen. Das mache ich gerade. Du benutzt aber auch gerade ein Körperteil. Du benutzt die Ohren.
