Mientras la Fórmula 1 no quiere darnos nada de emoción y se oculta, el mundo del motor ya ha vivido tres grandes citas competitivas que han marcado el inicio del año: el Dakar, el Rally de Montecarlo y las 24 Horas de Daytona. Este segundo episodio del Podcast Técnica Fórmula 1 nos pone al día con los últimos eventos, muy distintos, pero unidos por la intensidad, la emoción y la aparición de protagonistas inesperados. Montecarlo y su idilio con la nieve. El Rally de Montecarlo volvió a demostrar por qué es una de las pruebas más especiales del calendario. Nieve, hielo, tramos mojados y condiciones cambiantes ofrecieron un escenario clásico y exigente, en el que el talento al volante marcó la diferencia. El gran nombre propio fue Oliver Solberg, que firmó una actuación sobresaliente y se impuso con autoridad frente a rivales de primer nivel. Ni la regularidad y velocidad de Elfyn Evans ni la experiencia y agresividad de Sébastien Ogier fueron suficientes para frenar al joven piloto, que dominó el rally prácticamente de principio a fin. Toyota volvió a mostrarse como la referencia técnica del campeonato, mientras que Hyundai quedó muy lejos de las posiciones de cabeza y Ford pasó prácticamente desapercibida. Aunque solo se ha disputado una prueba, el rendimiento mostrado plantea interrogantes sobre la capacidad real de sus rivales para plantar cara a la marca japonesa a lo largo de la temporada. Además, el gran momento de forma de Solberg y Evans abre el debate sobre si a Ogier le saldrá a cuenta no disputar el campeonato completo. Daytona: 24 horas dan para mucho. Al otro lado del Atlántico, las 24 Horas de Daytona ofrecieron un espectáculo irregular pero emocionante en su desenlace. La carrera estuvo marcada por una elevada cantidad de neutralizaciones debido a la niebla, lo que restó continuidad y ritmo durante muchas horas. Aun así, las fases finales devolvieron la emoción, con luchas cerradas en prácticamente todas las categorías. Alex Palou volvió a marcharse de Daytona sin el ansiado trofeo, esta vez por una penalización que condicionó el resultado final de su coche. En GTD Pro y GTD, la variedad de marcas y equipos volvió a demostrar la excelente salud de las competiciones de resistencia (y eso nos encanta, después de unos años de bajón), con BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari, Corvette y Aston Martin protagonizando una batalla constante hasta la bandera a cuadros. A mal tiempo, buena cara. Mientras la F1 se esconde, el resto del automovilismo ya ha empezado a ofrecer grandes historias, actuaciones memorables y preguntas que solo el paso de las carreras podrá responder. Y es que Montecarlo y Daytona han servido como un potente aperitivo de lo que promete ser una temporada apasionante. Esperemos que la FOM espabile y se una a la fiesta de los aficionados. Las 7 semanas desde que Norris se coronó Campeón se nos han hecho largas. Pero, afortunadamente, la pretemporada de Fórmula 1 ya está en marcha. Y, aunque lo hace envuelta en un clima de opacidad que está generando frustración entre aficionados y expertos, el Podcast Técnica Fórmula 1 va a usar todo lo que conoce para mantenernos informados y al día. La verdad, al desnudo. A pocas semanas del inicio del campeonato y con una nueva reglamentación técnica sobre la mesa, los equipos están mostrando sus cartas con cuentagotas. Y, además, la propia F1, bajo la gestión de Liberty Media, mantiene una política informativa extremadamente restrictiva. Vamos, que sólo ellos quieren sacar tajada… que tengan cuidado no maten a la gallina de los huevos de oro. Sea como fuere, algunos equipos ya han comenzado a evidenciar problemas de planificación. Williams, por ejemplo, se ha perdido por completo la pretemporada en Barcelona y ni siquiera presentará su monoplaza de forma física, optando por un lanzamiento virtual. McLaren, por su parte, ha llegado tarde al inicio de los test, aunque finalmente ha conseguido poner su coche en pista. Aston Martin tampoco ha tenido un arranque ideal y ya ha perdido una jornada de pruebas, alimentando las dudas sobre su preparación real de cara al inicio del año. Más incógnitas que certezas. A esta situación se suma la polémica gestión televisiva de los tests de Baréin, donde solo se emitirá una hora diaria de los segundos entrenamientos oficiales. Una decisión difícil de entender en un momento en el que el interés por la nueva temporada es máximo y en el que la transparencia ayudaría a contextualizar mejor el rendimiento real de cada equipo. Por otra parte, en la pista, los nuevos monoplazas ya han dejado algunas pinceladas interesantes, aunque resulta complicado sacar conclusiones firmes. Las estrategias de ocultación (también por parte de los equipos) están siendo evidentes: cargas de combustible desconocidas, mapas de motor conservadores y programas de rodaje diseñados más para despistar que para mostrar el verdadero potencial. Muestra evidente del miedo a que las decisiones tomadas para poner en pista un coche adaptado a esta nueva reglamentación no hayan sido las mejores. Aun así, algunos coches han llamado especialmente la atención por su comportamiento general y por su fiabilidad. El titular: Fiabilidad. Y es precisamente la fiabilidad uno de los grandes titulares inesperados de esta pretemporada. Contra todo pronóstico, los motores están mostrando una solidez notable desde los primeros kilómetros, algo poco habitual en un contexto de cambios técnicos. Mercedes lidera el número de vueltas completadas, seguida por Red Bull y Haas, lo que refuerza la sensación de que, al menos en términos mecánicos, los equipos han hecho bien los deberes. Lamentablemente, la pretemporada avanza con más incógnitas que certezas. La falta de información oficial, las ausencias en pista y el hermetismo generalizado contrastan sobremanera con el enorme interés que despierta el nuevo curso (nueva temporada y nueva reglamentación, el cóctel perfecto). Y, visto lo visto con las decisiones respecto de los tests, habrá que esperar a los primeros Grandes Premios para descubrir qué hay realmente detrás de esta intensa partida de póker técnico (y aerodinámico). Dentro de la guantera había un diamante de un valor fabuloso. La fiesta se hacía en un hotel de increíble lujo, en la ciudad de Melbourne, Australia, con ciento diez invitados, todos amigos de la pareja. El Ferrari Testarossa se sumó a otros dos Ferrari, cinco Mercedes Benz, tres Rolls-Royce, un Jaguar, un Aston Martin y un Porsche. Danilo Ortiz, de cuarenta y cinco años de edad, y su esposa Sara, de cuarenta y tres, parecían nadar en dinero. Sin embargo, había un problema. Ese dinero provenía de transferencias ilegales que Danilo había hecho durante diez años en una compañía de metales preciosos donde era empleado. El total del desfalco era siete millones, novecientos mil dólares. Esa pareja se enriqueció demasiado rápido. Hacían grandes obras de caridad. Poseían muchas casas lujosas. La sociedad presente vive fascinada con el dinero. Como que hay una atracción seductora hacia las cosas materiales. Por dinero las mujeres venden su honra. Por dinero los hombres hacen caso omiso de su conciencia. Por dinero se fraguan grandes delitos, e incluso, por dinero gobernantes, servidores públicos y aun clérigos entierran sus convicciones. La utilidad momentánea vale más que el honor, y la conveniencia más que la integridad. Hubo días en que estrecharse la mano sellaba el negocio más complejo. Hoy hay que firmar contratos complicados hasta para comprar un perro. «Más vale lo poco de un justo que lo mucho de innumerables malvados», dice la Biblia (Salmo 37:16). ¿Dónde está el antídoto contra ese veneno de las almas? En Jesucristo. Él perdona el pecado de ambición, pone en nuestro corazón los verdaderos valores de la vida, despierta nuestro anhelo por las cosas del espíritu, nos sana de fiebres enfermizas y nos da el verdadero sentido de la vida. Gray Newell drives an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT in the SRO GT America Series. I met Newell at the 50th Anniversary of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach where I was looking at the Aston Martin Valkyrie GTP car. He happened to be standing there in his Aston Martin shirt and I asked him some questions about that car. I also asked him what his role was and he responded that he was a driver for the Heart of Racing Team in the SRO series. At that point, I asked if he had time for an interview sometime during the weekend. In quite the serendipitous way, besides saying “yes” he also won the pole for his race. Immediately following his press conference, he came to the FastLane Racing School booth in the Expo and we conducted the interview live in front of race fans. A super cool guy with a real thoughtful process for his driving, Newell was a real crowd-pleasing guest. Enjoy!NOTE:  Although Newell started from the pole in Race 1, he ended up third on the podium. In Race 2, things didn't go as well and he finished 11th.

Dicen que dos cabezas piensan mejor que una, pero en la industria del automóvil, a veces dos cabezas solo sirven para darse cabezazos. Existen frases muy manidas como “la unión hace la fuerza”, pero la historia nos demuestra que, en ocasiones, ocurre justo lo contrario: la unión no suma, resta. Hoy analizamos 10 ejemplos de colaboraciones fallidas, "Frankensteins" mecánicos y millones de euros tirados a la basura en proyectos que nunca debieron existir. 1. Cisitalia-Porsche Type 360 (1947): La genialidad maldita Esta historia comienza en una cárcel francesa, donde Ferdinand Porsche y Anton Piëch estaban presos tras la guerra. Piero Dusio, fundador de Cisitalia, pagó una fortuna por un diseño de Porsche para financiar su fianza. El resultado fue el Type 360, una locura técnica adelantada 20 años a su tiempo: motor central de 12 cilindros, doble compresor y tracción total conectable. 2. Maserati Quattroporte II (1974): La limusina lenta Bajo el paraguas de Citroën, Maserati intentó crear una berlina de lujo. El error fue partir del chasis del Citroën SM y usar su motor V6 de tracción delantera. El resultado fue una herejía: un Maserati de tracción delantera con menos de 200 CV para mover dos toneladas. Era lento y complicadísimo de reparar. Tras la quiebra de Citroën, Peugeot mandó destruir casi todas las unidades. Solo sobrevivieron 13. 3. Saab-Lancia 600 (1980): El vikingo friolero Saab necesitaba un coche nuevo y Lancia tenía el Delta. Decidieron vender el Delta en Suecia con el logo de Saab, prometiendo "temperamento latino y calidad sueca". Fue un desastre. El acero italiano de la época se oxidaba con la sal de las carreteras suecas y la calefacción no estaba pensada para el clima ártico. Además, la electrónica italiana enloquecía con la humedad escandinava. Casi arruina la reputación de Saab. 4. Alfa Romeo Arna (1983): El mundo al revés La lógica dictaba unir la fiabilidad japonesa con el diseño italiano. Pero hicieron lo contrario: usaron la carrocería del soso Nissan Cherry y le metieron la mecánica y electrónica caprichosa del Alfasud. Para colmo, las carrocerías se fabricaban en Japón y se enviaban a Nápoles para ser ensambladas por mano de obra sin experiencia. El coche era feo y se rompía constantemente. 5. Cadillac Allanté (1987): El puente aéreo más caro GM quería un rival para el Mercedes SL y contrató a Pininfarina. El problema fue logístico: Pininfarina fabricaba las carrocerías en Turín y las enviaban a Detroit en aviones Boeing 747 modificados (56 carrocerías por vuelo). Esta locura, conocida como el "Puente Aéreo Allanté", encareció el coche hasta los 54.000 dólares. Aunque no era mal coche, el Mercedes llegaba en barco, era mejor y más barato. 6. Chrysler TC by Maserati (1989): Un pacto de amigos Lee Iacocca y Alejandro de Tomaso decidieron colaborar. Usaron la plataforma del humilde Dodge Daytona, enviaron las piezas a Milán y Maserati las ensambló con cuero caro. El resultado costaba 33.000 dólares pero parecía un Chrysler LeBaron de 12.000. Fue un fracaso económico monumental que costó a Chrysler más de 600 millones de dólares. 7. Honda Crossroad (1993): Cuando Honda pierde aceite En plena fiebre SUV, Honda no tenía un todoterreno. Su solución fue traer el Land Rover Discovery, ponerle la "H" de Honda y llamarlo Crossroad. No cambiaron nada más. El choque cultural fue brutal: los clientes japoneses, acostumbrados a la fiabilidad absoluta, se encontraron con un coche inglés que dejaba manchas de aceite y tenía fallos eléctricos. ¿Alguna vez habéis pensado que vuestro coche es, en realidad, un organismo vivo? Tiene corazón, el motor; tiene cerebro, la centralita; y tiene extremidades, la suspensión. Pero nada de eso serviría sin un esqueleto que lo mantenga todo unido: el Chasis. Un buen chasis define si un coche es una maravilla o un desastre, porque la rigidez lo es todo. Si la estructura flexa o se retuerce como un flan al tomar una curva, la geometría de la suspensión se pierde, el coche no gira y, lo peor de todo, el coche miente al conductor. Hoy hacemos un viaje técnico, pero con lenguaje "asequible", a través de la historia y la ingeniería de los chasis. Desde los primeros "hierros" hasta la fibra de carbono. 1. El origen: Largueros y travesaños (Ladder Frame) Es la lógica pura heredada de los carruajes de caballos. Se trata de dos vigas gruesas de acero unidas por travesaños, pareciendo una escalera de mano tumbada. Aunque es una tecnología antigua, sigue viva en los todoterrenos puros como el Jeep Wrangler o el Toyota Land Cruiser por una razón: su robustez absoluta. La carrocería es solo una caja que "flota" encima, aislada con silentblocks. Es pesado y tiene un centro de gravedad alto, pero es indestructible. 2. La revolución: El chasis tubular La competición buscaba ligereza, así que sustituyeron las vigas macizas por jaulas de tubos finos soldados formando triángulos (la forma indeformable por excelencia). Aquí encontramos historias fascinantes: -Mercedes 300 SL: Sus puertas de "Alas de Gaviota" no son postureo, son una necesidad técnica. Su chasis tubular era tan alto en los laterales para garantizar rigidez que no podían poner puertas normales. -Porsche 917: Ferdinand Piëch llevó esto al límite usando magnesio. El chasis de este monstruo de 1000 CV pesaba solo 42 kilos. El problema es que el magnesio es altamente inflamable e imposible de apagar. Para detectar fisuras, los tubos estaban llenos de gas a presión y el piloto tenía un manómetro en el salpicadero. Si la aguja bajaba en plena recta de Le Mans, sabían que el chasis se estaba rompiendo. 3. La rareza genial: El chasis de viga central Una solución técnica preciosa popularizada por Colin Chapman en sus Lotus y usada en el Alpine A110 original o el DeLorean. Consiste en una columna vertebral central muy rígida que conecta ambos ejes. Es ligero y permite una transmisión central limpia, pero tiene un gran defecto: la nula protección en impactos laterales, motivo por el que cayó en desuso con las normativas modernas. 4. El estándar moderno: Monocasco autoportante Popularizado por el Citroën Traction Avant en 1934, es lo que conducimos hoy. No hay diferencia entre chasis y carrocería, todo es una estructura de chapa estampada y soldada. Permite más espacio interior y bajar el coche al suelo. Hoy en día se usan aceros al boro de ultra-alta resistencia para proteger a los ocupantes en caso de vuelco. 5. Nuevos materiales: Aluminio y el "pegamento" Muchos creen que el Audi A8 fue el primer monocasco de aluminio, pero el honor es del Honda NSX en 1990. Sin embargo, la revolución llegó con el Lotus Elise en 1996. Sus ingenieros descubrieron que soldar aluminio lo debilita por el calor, así que decidieron pegarlo con adhesivo epoxi aeroespacial. El resultado fue un chasis de extrusiones de aluminio de solo 68 kilos, una técnica que hoy usa Aston Martin. 6. La era espacial: Fibra de Carbono Introducida en la F1 por McLaren en 1981 con el MP4/1. Al principio se temía que se hiciera añicos como el cristal en un accidente, pero John Watson demostró en Monza (saliendo ileso de un accidente brutal) que era el material más seguro del mundo. Hoy en día, coches como el Alfa 4C o el Bugatti Chiron usan "bañeras" de carbono cocinadas en autoclave. Comparativa de Rigidez (Nm/grado): Para que veáis la evolución, la rigidez se mide en la fuerza necesaria para torcer el coche un grado: -Lotus Elan (Viga central): ~4.500 Nm/grado. -McLaren F1 (Carbono de los 90): 13.500 Nm/grado. -Ferrari 360 (Aluminio): 23.000 Nm/grado. -Bugatti Chiron (Carbono moderno): 50.000 Nm/grado. El chasis es el héroe silencioso de tu coche. La próxima vez que tomes una curva y sientas que el coche apoya plano, recuerda que es mérito de esos ingenieros que pelearon con soldaduras, pegamentos y fibras.

Flavio Briatore, the former boss of F1 legend Fernando Alonso, has explained the wider importance of the Spaniard's 2005 world championship win. Alonso is a two-time world champion, having claimed back-to-back titles in 2005 and 2006 with the Renault team, beating seven-time champion Michael Schumacher in both of those years. He has since gone on to compete for another 20 years - barring two seasons off for 'retirement' - and has now raced in more grands prix than any other driver in F1 history. Alonso is still going strong at the age of 44, and is hoping to once more challenge for podiums and race wins in the near future with Aston Martin. But now, his former boss has taken us all back to 2005, when Alonso became the youngest champion in F1 history at a time after a seven-win season. "He replaced a world champion and many criticised him for being young and inexperienced, but I believed in him," Briatore said in a new DAZN documentary titled Bravissimo. "I was sure he was special. Over time you realise that he wasn't just special, he was something more than that. "In 2005 we not only won a world championship, we also introduced Formula 1 to Spain. It was the moment when everyone truly got to know Fernando Alonso. Not just because he won the world championship, but because of how he won it; we did it with authority." Can Alonso win another race? Now 44 years old, Alonso's hopes of claiming a third world championship title may be fading away, but he could still claim a 33rd career grand prix victory. Alonso has not won a race since the 2013 Spanish Grand Prix, but does have a contract that runs until the end of next season, and may even go on beyond that. The Spaniard has said that, if Aston Martin provide him with a car that's fighting for race wins in 2026, he'll be happy to retire, but if they're still struggling for top 10 finishes, he may well carry on beyond that. Alonso's driving ability is still there compared to his rivals, out-qualifiying his much younger team-mate Lance Stroll ahead of a grand prix on all 24 occasions in 2025. Sharp rocks cut deep into the convoy during frantic first stage of the 2026 Dakar Rally. The 2026 Dakar Rally began to stretch it's legs on Stage 1 with over 300km of racing over the rock fields surrounding Yanbu. Perilous terrain was waiting to take a big bite out of the convoy as they were plunged into the deep end at the world's toughest rally. Let's see who managed to keep their heads above water… It was Guillaume de Mévius and Mathieu Baumel who put the hammer down hardest on Stage 1 of the Ultimate class battle. The duo dodged all obstacles in their path, bringing their MINI JCW Rally 3.0i back to the Yanbu Start Camp Bivouac in first place overall. It's an incredible achievement considering their participation at this Dakar was thrown into serious doubt when Baumel was forced to have his right leg amputated last year. 'Winning a stage always feels good, but it wasn't really our strategy for the day. Tomorrow, Mathieu and I will be opening and I'm very happy about that. With Mathieu on my right, I'm not worried about opening a special.” – Guillaume de Mévius Nasser Al-Attiyah got his Dacia within 40 seconds of De Mévius's front-running vehicle. The Qatari gave us an insight into his tactics for tomorrow's 400-kilometre special stage that will bring the convoy to Al-Ula. “We were pushing, but then we saw Seb with two flat tyres so tried to take it easy. Then Guillaume passed us and we stayed behind him all the way. Tomorrow I will start three minutes behind Guillaume and we can push.” – Nasser Al-Attiyah Also finding themselves in a strong position to attack on the mountainous tracks that await tomorrow are the four Ford Raptor T1+ crews. Mattias Ekström, Carlos Sainz, Nani Roma and Mitch Guthrie Jr. all find themselves in the Top 10 and will be out to turn the screw on Stage 2. “There's 25 really fast drivers and 14 days of racing so you have to take care of your own business while keeping an eye on everybody else.” – Mattias Ekström Rally organisers placed a pitstop midway through the stage for four-wheel competitors due to the sheer amount of sharp rocks on the route. Top drivers including Sébastien Loeb, Toby Price, Cristina Gutiérrez, Laia Sanz, Henk Lategan and Seth Quintero all got their tyres sliced on Stage 1 as the Dakar showed its teeth during the first long stage of 2026. “It's like driving on razor blades out there!” – Seth Quintero Leading the charge for the debutant Defender team in the Stock class on Stage 1 was Rokas Baciuška. The Lithuanian set the Stock category's fastest time to create a piece of Dakar history. Baciuška is now the only World Rally-Raid Championship driver to win stages in Ultimate, Challenger, SSV and now Stock divisions. “There's a lot of dust out there because the Stock category starts each day at the back. I'm used to driving in the dust from my days driving SSV so that might help me out this year. Tomorrow will be another tough day so we'll see how we deal with it.” – Rokas Baciuška First to leave the Start Camp Bivouac this morning were the bikers with the leading contenders hitting the stage at 8am. Prologue victor Edgar Canet of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing maintained his impressive pace to make it back-to-back stage wins. 20-year-old Canet is making his debut in the Dakar's RallyGP category for elite bikers and it's so far, so good for the Catalan. “I did a good job with the navigation, I just got lost for a little bit. You need to take care in the rocks not to destroy yourself or destroy your bike.” – Edgar Canet Also taking a spot on the Stage 1 podium was Canet's KTM team-mate Daniel Sanders. The 2025 Dakar champion kept his head despite being attacked by sandstorms while racing for over three hours. “It was really windy and my helmet was catching a lot of wind so it was hard to focus.” – Daniel Sanders Harith Noah and Mohammed Balooshi both endured tough days on the bike. Indian rider Noah was airlifted to hospital in Riyadh due to back injuries following a crash. We wish Harith a speedy recovery from his injuries. Meanwhile, Balooshi also suffered an accident during the stage, although he was able to bring his Honda CRF 450 to the finish line. “At the refuelling a doctor tried to fix my finger and knuckle. I rode this 300km stage unable to grip since kilometre 20. I just tried to survive. This is Dakar!” – Mohammed Balooshi There was plenty of rock and rolling in the Challenger class with Dania Akeel arriving to the finish of Stage 1 with the driver's side door ripped off her Taurus T3 Max. Despite some superficial damage to the machine, both Akeel and her BBR team-mate Kevin Benavides stayed within 10 minutes of early category leader David Zille. “I'm not sure what happened with the door because we didn't hit anything. Maybe there was something loose. We had one puncture so we lost some time changing the tyre. It was also very dusty with so many Ultimate cars around us. But that's part of the game. Thanks to my co-driver Sébastien for a great stage.” – Dania Akeel After today's 305-kilometre loop around Yanbu it's still very tight at the top of the SSV class. Francisco ‘Chaleco' López won the SSV race at the Dakar in both 2019 and 2021. After Stage 1 in 2026 the Chilean is just four minutes off leader Xavier De Soultrait, with Gonçalo Guerreiro a further 30 seconds behind. “We need to keep working hard to reach the finish of this rally. It was very tough on the rocks today so I'm happy with the time we posted.” – Francisco ‘Chaleco' López Showing grit and determination worthy of the Dakar was eight-time World Rallycross champion Johan Kristoffersson. The Swede did not get his Dakar debut started as he wanted when his Polaris RZR Pro R ended up on its roof during the Prologue. However, Kristoffersson dusted himself down and took his place on the start line of Stage 1. Despite eating a lot of dust, the rookie recorded the day's 13th best time in the SSV class. For tomorrow's Stage 2 the convoy depart Yanbu and the shores of the Red Sea, heading inland towards the treasures of Al-Ula. Competitors hoping to establish an early race rhythm will be frustrated by the constantly evolving terrain under their wheels. Every brief section of flat out speed is quickly followed by a technical section over the rocks. Más allá de la controversia de los motores, el Podcast Técnica Fórmula 1 también ha abordado varios temas que configurarán la narrativa del deporte para 2026: cambios, rumores y expectativas altas. Noticias bien recibidas. En primer lugar, la FIA ha introducido modificaciones en su Código Deportivo relativas a los comisarios y la capacidad de revisar incidentes. A partir de 2026, no solo los equipos podrán solicitar revisiones de decisiones tomadas durante una carrera con nueva evidencia, sino que los propios comisarios podrán iniciar revisiones por iniciativa propia si lo consideran necesario. Además, se creará un panel de comisarios fuera de competición con al menos cinco especialistas con experiencia en categorías FIA para analizar casos complejos y mejorar la consistencia de las decisiones. Este cambio refleja una búsqueda por parte del organismo regulador de tomar decisiones más justas y transparentes en un campeonato donde los detalles de una sanción pueden cambiar el resultado de un Gran Premio. Y, un poco tarde, llega la “Silly Season”. En el ámbito del mercado de fichajes y movimientos de personal, estos momentos fuera de temporada también han estado marcados por rumores sobre figuras técnicas más que codiciadas. Se ha especulado con movimientos de ingenieros clave como Lambiase, vinculado a Aston Martin o Williams, lo que podría tener impacto en la estructura técnica de las escuderías implicadas y sus aspiraciones deportivas. Está claro que, en la F1, la lucha por talento especializado es tan estratégica como las decisiones técnicas en fábrica. Circuitos, notas y declaraciones. Las noticias fuera de temporada no tienen por qué tener poco interés para los aficionados. Por ejemplo: la inclusión del Autódromo de Portimão en el calendario de 2027, una pista muy querida por fans y pilotos por su reto técnico y por todo lo que aporta al espectáculo, es una más que buena noticia, por lo cerca que está para los aficionados españoles. Además, toca hablar – quizás con un poco de ironía – los resultados de la encuesta entre jefes de equipo sobre la temporada 2025. Quién fue el mejor y quién no lo fue tanto esta temporada es algo que da mucho pie a comentarios. Para terminar, las siempre afiladas declaraciones de Verstappen, esta vez hablando de las verificaciones técnicas. Para él, si se aplicaran esas verificaciones técnicas de forma exhaustiva después de cada Gran Premio, “la mitad de la parrilla quedaría excluida”. Está claro que este deporte tiene una complejidad técnica, pero también que hay mucho temor a sanciones por detalles minúsculos. La temporada 2025 de Fórmula 1 será recordada como una de las más emocionantes de los últimos años, con una lucha por el título que se decidió en el último Gran Premio y un nuevo campeón histórico que rompe moldes. En los programas de esta semana del Podcast Técnica Fórmula 1 se hace un resumen exhaustivo de lo que nos dejó. Un nuevo Campeón. Tras 24 carreras, la Fórmula 1 volvió a coronar a un británico como Campeón. Lando Norris tuvo que esperar, eso sí, hasta Abu Dhabi para sellar una temporada de altibajos, resiliencia y momentos memorables para él y McLaren con un título, su primer título. Desde el inicio, la campaña estuvo marcada por la competitividad entre los principales contendientes: Norris (McLaren), Max Verstappen (Red Bull) y Oscar Piastri (McLaren). Todos llegaron a la última cita en Yas Marina con posibilidades matemáticas de alzarse con el título. Aunque Verstappen se hizo con la victoria de la carrera, el tercer puesto de Norris fue suficiente para asegurar el campeonato por apenas dos puntos de ventaja. El buen rollo y la rivalidad duraron hasta el último momento, y eso nos tuvo a todos los aficionados enganchados hasta el final. Y eso aún cuando algunas carreras – por ejemplo, las tres últimas – fueron de todo menos divertidas. Ganadores y Perdedores. Si McLaren se hizo con el Campeonato de Constructores muy pronto y con solvencia, las luchas en el equipo y los fallos garrafales de estrategia dejaron a sus pilotos en tensión hasta el último momento. Eso sí, ambos han demostrado tener lo que hay que tener para ser Campeones del Mundo. Aunque si hay que hablar de ganadores, Verstappen y Red Bull pueden no haberse alzado con el título, pero sí que han demostrado la pasta de la que están hechos. En el caso del holandés, nos ha dado espectáculo y ha vuelto a demostrar su excepcional velocidad y competitividad, imponiéndose en varias carreras clave. Pero también hay que hablar de perdedores. Y en este caso tenemos que hablar, lamentablemente, de Ferrari. Han vivido una temporada para el olvido, sin victorias y luchando, en muchas carreras, por no caer en Q1… sin conseguirlo. Una temporada muy intensa. A pesar de que toda la temporada ha sido digna de verse, ha habido algunos Grandes Premios más interesantes que otros. Nos quedamos, concretamente, con los de Países Bajos, Italia y México. Y ha habido actuaciones espectaculares más allá de las de los tres punteros. Así, Williams nos ha dejado con la boca abierta con su mejora de rendimiento en un año de transición en el que no han evolucionado el coche. Y Sainz ha brillado con luz propia dentro de ese equipo, en la segunda mitad de la temporada, una vez que se adaptó a la nueva máquina. El caso de Aston Martin ha sido, por otra parte, penoso en cuanto a rendimiento. Eso sí, hemos visto un Alonso brillante y feliz casi en cada carrera, esperando con ansias el 2026 y el nuevo coche diseñado por Newey. Otros pilotos que han subido mucho el nivel este año han sido Russell y Gasly, aun cuando el coche no les ayudaba, sobre todo al francés, en la mayor parte de las carreras. Y no nos olvidemos de Sauber – que se despedía de nombre esta temporada para convertirse en Audi en 2026 – y Hulkenberg y Bortoleto: grandes actuaciones de ambos. There’s more to the Christmas story than you may realize. There’s a prequel... In this message, Pastor Greg Laurie brings us to the story of a godly, elderly couple named Zechariah and Elizabeth, parents of John the Baptist. Notes: Luke 1 Luke gives us the prequel, the story before the story. Luke opens by saying, “In the days of Herod.”That’s like saying, “In Germany, in the days of Hitler.” Heaven’s light was about to break. Read Luke 1:5–17 Luke’s narrative finds Israel in the midst of a long night of spiritual darkness. Israel was now under the control of mighty and cruel Rome.But there was something in the air that things were about to change. A promise to Israel of better days to come – Malachi 4:2 NIVBut for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. Malachi 3:1 NIV“I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the LORD Almighty. John the Baptist was the bridge between the Old Testament and the New Testament. God was now going to answer the prayer and heart cry of Israel. God sent the mighty angel Gabriel. The last appearance of an angel had been to the prophet Zechariah nearly five centuries earlier. Whenever angels appeared, they would say, “Do not be afraid!” Gabriel came to an elderly couple, Zacharias and Elizabeth. The name Zacharias means, “God remembers.”Elizabeth means, “My God is an oath.” God remembers His promises and always keeps His word. God was making up for lost time, and He gave them a baby like no other,John the Baptist. #1 Zacharias was a humble man. James 4:6 ESV“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” The obsession with ourselves is at the root of our problems. The humble Zacharias was a country priest. There were many priests in Israel at this time.To be a priest meant you represented the people to God. The priest also represented God to the people.The priest would interpret scripture, counsel, and provide wise judgment for the people. I understand that I, too, am a representative of God to people. You, too, are a priest.And you, too, represent God to people. You are the only bible some people will ever read. #2 Zacharias was a faithful man. God called:Moses, when he was tending sheep.David, while he was watching sheep,Elijah, when he was plowingPeter and John, when they were mending nets.God calls busy people. It’s hard to steer a parked car. If you are faithful in small things, God will give you greater opportunities. God has given to every believer spiritual gifts. Romans 12:6 NLTGod has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. Romans 12:7 NLTIf your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. Romans 12:8 NLTIf your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. Paul told Timothy to “not neglect the gift that is in you.” Zacharias was faithful to do what God had set before him. #3 Zacharias and Elizabeth were godly and blameless people. Luke 1:6 NKJVAnd they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. To be blameless does not mean they were sinless. They lived lives of integrity, not perfection. “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.” Not to have any children was thought to be a curse from God. Little did they know that God would answer their prayers and give them a prophet. Their son, John, would be the greatest prophet of the Old Testament. Perhaps you are going through a time of difficulty right now. God was preparing Zacharias and Elizabeth for this day, and now the reward for faithfulness has come. Luke 1:13 NKJVBut the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. God hears our prayers as well. God promises us that if we call out to Him, He will hear and answer.Psalm 34:15 Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Just because our prayers are not answered does not mean God does not hear them. There is an amazing story in Daniel 10 where a mighty angel appeared before the prophet.The angel told Daniel that the prophet’s prayer had been heard in heaven 21 days earlier. God’s delays are not necessarily his denials. The devil and his fallen angels are very active right now. Revelation 12:12b NIVThe devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury because he knows that his time is short. The bible tells us that in the last days there would be “satanically energized times” and that things would go from bad to worse. So, what should we do in light of this?We need to use our two secret weapons, preaching and prayer. We have no idea of what is going on in the invisible world of angels and demons.Revelation 8:3–4 God hears and stores our prayers; not one is wasted. Every prayer is answered with either yes, no, or wait. God is aware of each and every request made for His glory and in His will. God heard and recorded the prayer of this godly couple. Zacharias prayed for 30 years for a son.The reason he was surprised when Gabriel came was because he had prayed for so long. In the same way, your prayers are in God’s to-do box.Even if you have forgotten about them, God has not. Don’t give up on your prayers. This happened with the believers praying for the deliverance of Simon Peter.When the answer to their prayer arrived, they did not believe it. #4 Zacharias was human and flawed just like us! Luke 1:18 NKJVAnd Zacharias said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.” Luke 1:19 NKJVAnd the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. Luke 1:20 NKJV“But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words.” Zacharias could have rejoiced, but instead he questioned. We can choose to worship God, or we can choose to question God. It’s not a bad thing for a Christian to struggle or even ask God, “Why?” Some people have experienced tragedy and disappointment and have questions for God. But there comes a point when we choose to trust. Even John the Baptist had a momentary doubt.He misunderstood the mission of the Messiah like so many others. John, the greatest Old Testament prophet, sitting in a dungeon, sent word to Jesus, “Are You the One, or should we look for another?” Jesus reassured John and sent him back to the scriptures. Zacharias couldn’t speak, so he tried to explain what happened through hand gestures.Luke 1:21 Lessons from the lives of Zacharias and Elizabeth:To be humble and wait on the Lord and serve HimTo keep praying and not give up because our prayers are heard and rememberedTo believe what God tells you and act in faith, not by feeling The biblical characters were quite ordinary.They were hopelessly human, remarkably unremarkable. The value isn’t in the vessel; it’s in the One who fills it. For centuries, the world waited. And that was true about Lando Norris's 24 point lead over 2nd place in the World Driver's Championship after a double dq for McLaren and an imperious win for (former, but on longer title outsider) Max Verstappen. Could Max actually do it this season, from an over 100 point deficit to taking the title in the last 2 race weekends? If he does manage to pip both papaya clad drivers to the title, this will probably go down in history as just about the greatest championship win ever. So get your popcorn ready, we're at the sharp end!This week on the podcast we look back at a Las Vegas Grand Prix that had more tha a few shocks. A wet track, an utterly abysmal Ferrari qualifying strategy, even by their own, already low, standards.
