It's a packed edition this week as James travels to the impressive new Aston Martin factory at Silverstone to speak to CEO and team principal Andy Cowell, the latest in our series of F1 Team Principal interviews. Cowell speaks in detail about Adrian Newey's involvement in the design of the teams Honda-powered 2026 car and how he's ‘provoking' the team to reach an ultra-high performance level. Max Verstappen seemed to feel that his Red Bull team was anything but high-performing in the Spanish GP. But is that what drove his bizarre behaviour, colliding with Mercedes' George Russell? James is joined in the studio by Motorsport.com Editor in Chief Ben Hunt and by Autosport's Dutch F1 writer Ronald Vording to discuss the fallout.
In this episode of Drinks and a Movie, we're diving into one of the most polarizing entries in the James Bond franchise — Die Another Day (2002), starring Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry, and an invisible Aston Martin. From ice palaces to DNA-swapping villains, we're breaking down the wildest, most over-the-top Bond film of the Brosnan era. To pair with this explosive spy adventure, we're sipping on the bold and flavorful Michter's Toasted Barrel Finish Rye — a rich, spicy pour with toasted oak and caramel notes that holds its own against the film's big-budget insanity. We talk:Where Die Another Day ranks in the Bond canonThe good, the bad, and the absurdThat infamous theme song by MadonnaWhy Brosnan's final outing deserves a rewatch (or maybe not?)And of course, we dive into the flavor profile and finish of Michter's Toasted Rye — one of the more sought-after bottles from Michter's Distillery.

We dissect the controversial collision between Max Verstappen and George Russell, an incident that saw Verstappen receive a 10-second penalty and three penalty points, putting him just one point away from a race ban. The clash, which occurred after a late Safety Car period and initial contact with Charles Leclerc and Russell, sparked intense debate. George Russell firmly stated, "it felt very deliberate," while Max Verstappen dismissed inquiries, saying, "Does it matter? Yeah, okay, that's great. I mean, I prefer to speak about the race than just one single moment," and expressed frustration with "racing standards." Analysts like Nico Rosberg called the penalty "very lenient," arguing it "looked like a very intentional retaliation," drawing parallels to the 2017 Vettel-Hamilton incident in Baku and the 1997 Schumacher-Villeneuve clash in Jerez. Christian Horner acknowledged the penalty but expressed frustration, and Toto Wolff noted a "pattern" in "great ones" needing the world against them. Beyond the on-track drama, we explore the mysterious absence of Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll from the Spanish Grand Prix. The team cited an "unforeseen medical issue" and "discomfort" for his withdrawal, but the vagueness of the explanation fueled widespread speculation in the paddock. Theories range from internal team tensions and performance pressure to undisclosed injuries or even sensitive contractual discussions. This episode unpacks the incident's complexities, the differing perspectives, and the lingering questions that continue to shape the narrative of the 2025 Formula 1 season. Join the conversation! Title music created by J.T. the Human: https://www.jtthehuman.com/ Contact & Feedback: Find us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you enjoy podcasts Email: scuderiaf1pod@gmail.com X: @ScuderiaF1Pod Episode Show Notes: May 29, 2025 Hey everyone, and welcome back to the Scuderia F1 Podcast! Let's jump right into our Quick Hits! First up, that F1 movie is hitting theaters on June 27th. Get ready, because due to insane demand, Warner Bros. and IMAX are actually expanding the Fan-First Premiere Screenings of Apple Original Film F1 to 400 IMAX locations worldwide. And guess what? We've got one right here in Coquitlam! Shifting gears to the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, it's wild to think that since 2016, only two drivers have taken the win there: Max Verstappen in 2016, 2022, 2023, and 2024, and Lewis Hamilton in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. Also, make sure to check out F1: The Academy when it drops on Netflix on May 28th. Fun fact: the last McLaren driver to win in Monaco was Lewis Hamilton back in 2008, the very year he became champion! Huge congrats are also in order for Spaniard Alex Palou for his Indy 500 win over Marcus Ericsson. That was his first-ever oval win, and he's been on fire, winning 5 out of 6 races and leading the championship by a whopping 108 points! Now, about Imola's future on the calendar... it's a bit up in the air with Madrid joining next year. Imola's contract is up, and there's talk about whether they'll get an extra year after missing 2023 due to flooding. Word on the street is F1 asked for a cool 60 million Euros to keep the race going. Just a heads-up, Barcelona's contract wraps up after 2026. On the partnership front, we've got some new big names! Pepsi has officially joined as an Official Partner of F1, with Sting Energy stepping in as the official Energy Drink, and Gatorade becoming the Official Partner of F1 Sprint. Moving onto a quick recap of the Monaco Grand Prix. If you want all the details, you can find full analysis on Wikipedia and Motorsport.com. Stefano Domenicali has actually come out defending F1's Monaco GP tire change rule after some drivers voiced their criticism. And even though some folks called it a "garbage race," the ABC/ESPN ratings in the US were absolutely massive, pulling in the largest live audience ever for a Monaco Grand Prix telecast! Our main topic for discussion today is a big one: How can we actually fix the Monaco Grand Prix? We'll be diving into some feasible ways to create more overtaking opportunities and exploring proposed changes to the circuit itself to try and save the Grand Prix. In other F1 news, we'll be asking the question: Does Lewis Hamilton need a new engineer? We'll also share the full radio exchange from Hamilton's pretty frustrating Monaco GP. Mattia Binotto has admitted that Audi "won't have the best power unit" in 2026. Plus, Adrian Newey suggests Max Verstappen will "always chase the fastest car" amidst all the speculation about a switch to Aston Martin. And finally, we'll be speculating if big things are coming for Ferrari with a new wing! And to wrap things up, a quick Spanish GP Preview! Fernando Alonso has become an ambassador for the Circuit de Barcelona, and he's pretty confident it'll be around for the next 3-4 decades, even if there are two Spanish GPs in 2026, as he sees the others as temporary. Also, F1 is reportedly clamping down on flexi-wings at the Spanish GP. Join the conversation! Follow us on X @ScuderiaF1Pod Subscribe to the Scuderia F1 Podcast wherever you get your podcasts.

From hiring drivers and private chefs to investing in luxury watches and supercars, Rob breaks down how you can spend money to make money and challenges conventional ideas about saving. KEY TAKEAWAYS Rob pays £300 for a driver because one productive hour of his time is worth £5,000, making the driver a profitable investment that eliminates stress and dead time He argues putting £10,000 in a Rolex beats a savings account since luxury watches appreciate 5-8% annually while savings lose value to inflation Rob's supercars directly increase revenue at his property events. People spend more money when he lines up his Lamborghini, Aston Martin and Porsche outside He owns five cars through an LLP structure, paying before tax and writing off depreciation, which effectively halves the real cost compared to personal purchases Rob hired his own mother as his first chef to combine family time with practical help, showing how anyone can start outsourcing on any budget He believes having children makes entrepreneurs more legacy-focused and empire-building driven, though he plans to structure inheritance to avoid creating entitled kids BEST MOMENTS "I've worked out a good average hour of work for me should make me five grand and a driver costs me, I don't know, couple of 300 pounds per hour." "It is a far better use of 10 grand to have it in a Rolex than to have it in a savings account. Because in a savings account that'll go down in value every year." "Do you know the amount of money that people spend at our events goes up when we line up all of our supercars out there." "I would say if you've got an empire building element inside you. For sure having kids can grow that." A chaotic race crowned the king of the 2025 Monaco GP - Lando Norris! Norris, who's last win was at the opening round in Australia, closed the gap to Oscar Piastri in the F1 Drivers' Championship to only 3 points. Should George Russell have received a stricter penalty for his defiance of track limits and track position violation?

On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we discuss the long-awaited roll out of Apple CarPlay Ultra and Samsung's all-new S25 Edge, which is positioned to rival the iPhone 17 Air later this year. Apple this week announced CarPlay Ultra, its next-generation CarPlay experience. CarPlay Ultra fully extends across all of the vehicle's display, including the instrument cluster. It provides access to real-time vehicle data, supports iPhonewidgets, theme options, instrument cluster display customizations, and introduces integrations for vehicle functions. CarPlay Ultra is available first in new Aston Martin models in North America. Existing Aston Martin vehicles will also support CarPlay Ultra through forthcoming software updates. Looking ahead, Apple says it has secured commitments from Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis to bring CarPlay Ultra to their vehicles in the coming year. Other automakers are expected to follow. In other news, Samsung this week announced the Galaxy S25 Edge — a device clearly designed to undercut the iPhone 17 Air's expected appeal, with both smartphones aiming to be the thinnest in their respective ecosystems. The Galaxy S25 Edge sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a titanium frame, and a remarkably slim 5.8mm profile, weighing in at just 163 grams. It features a dual-lens camera system, including a 200MP wide-angle sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide camera, supported by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Samsung is also pushing its AI credentials with features like Drawing Assist and Audio Eraser. In contrast, the iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be even thinner at just 5.5mm, making it Apple's slimmest iPhone ever. It is expected to feature a 6.6-inch OLED display with ProMotion. Apple is said to be removing the ultra-wide camera entirely and opting for a single 48MP wide camera, removing the SIM card tray, and the secondary stereo speaker to save internal space. Other expected specifications include a 24MP front-facing camera, 12GB of RAM, and the A19 chip. While the iPhone 17 Air may win the title of thinnest flagship, it could come with a major compromise: battery life. According to internal testing leaks, only 60–70% of users are expected to get through a full day on a single charge — a notable drop from the 80–90% seen with other recent iPhone models. Apple is reportedly using a higher-density battery and its custom C1 modem to squeeze as much efficiency as possible into the super-thin design. To address this, Apple is reportedly developing a new USB-C battery case, designed to extend the iPhone 17 Air's runtime. The accessory could launch alongside the device to help mitigate negative perceptions around longevity
