Join Patrick and Brian for this special, unedited version of Hard Compound, where we breakdown why Christian Horner was fired, why now, and what's next. But, wait. There's more. Where Max Verstappen will be driving in 2026 -- spoiler, it may not be Mercedes. Why Apple TV will get the F1 streaming rights in America. Why Costco should have its own line of movie theaters. What F1 the Movie got so wrong (and some of what they got right). Our big Alpine, Cadillac, and Aston Martin conspiracy theories. And why this new world of F1 is bigger, richer, better, but maybe not as much fun. Text Brian or PatrickAnd as always, thank you for listening to everybody's most beloved father and son F1 podcast!

Lance Stroll's future at Aston Martin has never looked shakier.Climb the ladder with me on Patreon: https://patreon.com/lawvsToday I break down the mounting pressure surrounding Lance Stroll. Yes, that again! This time it's his candid radio outbursts and post-race frustrations which are the focus; the dramatic shift in Aston Martin's ambitions with new sponsors and legendary figures like Adrian Newey joining the team could be the Canadian's undoing. His public attitude and “checked out” demeanor are clashing with the team's vision could be out of step with the deals with Honda, Aramco and major investors . These folks demand top-tier professionalism, motivation and results...which many doubt Lance can deliver for 2026. Fernando Alonso's energy and resilience only highlights Stroll's growing disconnect even more!!With George Russell being linked to his seat and team management surely losing patience with negative attitudes, the countdown to a major shakeup could be on. Silverstone 2025 delivered a British Grand Prix which saw Oscar Piastri lose big whilst Lando Norris picked up the pieces.Climb the ladder with me over on Patreon: https://patreon.com/lawvsRelive all the biggest moments of this race, such as Nico Hulkenberg finally earning his first F1 podium in his 15 year career and ending Sauber's 13-year drought in style! Lando Norris sent the home crowd wild with a faultless drive, while Alpine and Aston Martin delivered much-needed points to counter Sauber's surge in recent races...scoring MORE than Red Bull. Alex Albon also kept Williams in the hunt when Carlos Sainz fell to Charles Leclerc's damage. Not everyone left Silverstone smiling though. Oscar Piastri's bid for victory ended with a harsh penalty and Max Verstappen saw Red Bull's low downforce punt unravel in the rain...but WHO ELSE won, lost and meh'd their way this weekend?

Welcome to our motorsports podcast where we discuss F1, IndyCar, IMSA, NASCAR, our own racing adventures, and some other adventures!NASCAR went to Atlanta where Chase Elliot was able to escape THE BIG ONE and take the win.Grasser Racing survived 24 hours to win at Spa overall. Max Verstappen's Verstappen.com Aston Martin won in Gold class notably as well.McLaren dominate in Austria as they take a 1-2 finish while lapping the field up to 5th place. Impressive performance by them but also equally impressive drives from Liam Lawson and both Sauber drivers.Coming up this weekend: NASCAR at Chicago, Indycar is at Mid-Ohio, and F1 at Silverstone.

Peter's well fired-up in this episode - partly because Cameron, nice guy that he is, likes to wind up PW on the Mondays after a GP (in this case Canada) and partly because, for different reasons, and by different factions, the characters of two of F1's truest people - Lando Norris and Derek Warwick - have been called into question. Peter in this episode vehemently defends both of them. This podcast, in other words, features lots of McLaren and Red Bull chat - plus some Mercedes, Ferrari and Aston Martin observations for good measure. The crew dives headfirst into the controversial 2026 calendar that sees the historic Imola circuit axed in favor of a new street race in Madrid. This move has drawn fiery criticism from Lewis Hamilton, and we break down both sides: Is this a necessary evolution for F1's global brand, or is the sport trading its soul for new markets? We discuss Hamilton's pointed critique and what it means when a seven-time champion publicly questions the sport's direction. The drama doesn't stop there. We cover all the latest news ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, including Lance Stroll's confirmation at Aston Martin just in time for his home race and HAAS's 200th GP celebration. The team also touches on the unique haptic trailer for the upcoming 'F1' movie, Red Bull's 17-year-old phenom getting his Super License, the mounting pressure on Franco Colapinto, and Ford's electric ultimatum for its future in the sport. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The episode opens with panel introductions before jumping straight into VisionOS 26, where the team highlights Apple's focus on spatial computing. Features like interactive 3D widgets, refined Personas, and improved collaboration tools on Vision Pro generate both excitement and critical commentary. Marty and Eric share real-world experiences with spatial widgets, emphasizing their value in immersive environments. The panel acknowledges Apple's ambitious direction for Vision Pro as it evolves from a tech demo to a productivity and creative powerhouse. Jeff praises the new call screening and RCS group chat support, both of which significantly improve communication experiences. Updates to the Camera app and accessibility tools also reinforce Apple's commitment to a more inclusive user experience. iPadOS 26 draws praise for finally bridging the productivity gap with macOS. Chuck and David discuss how feature parity is leading to more seamless transitions between devices, particularly for multitasking and app continuity. The panel also briefly touches on watchOS 11 and tvOS 18, noting updates in health, fitness, and media experience. One of the standout segments is a look at Apple Intelligence, Apple's new generative AI initiative. The group discusses how Apple's privacy-first approach to AI, combined with on-device and cloud-assisted processing, could change the way users interact with Siri, productivity apps, and automation. The discussion also covers how this impacts developers and third-party integrations moving forward. In the final stretch, the team speculates on the future of the iPad and Mac. Will they fully converge or continue to serve distinct roles? With the iPad gaining more macOS features and the Mac embracing touch-like elements, the lines continue to blur. The episode closes with a few announcements and community highlights, including a plug for Macstock 2024 — inviting listeners to connect in person and keep the Apple discussion going. We explain why Aston Martin has taken another step backwards this season and whether Adrian Newey's arrival can change that in the latest edition of The Race F1 Podcast.Jon Noble and Mark Hughes join Edd Straw to discuss the team's troubles this year, and how Aston Martin slid to this point having claimed six podium finishes in the first eight races of 2023. We dissect the controversial collision between Max Verstappen and George Russell, an incident that saw Verstappen receive a 10-second penalty and three penalty points, putting him just one point away from a race ban. The clash, which occurred after a late Safety Car period and initial contact with Charles Leclerc and Russell, sparked intense debate. George Russell firmly stated, "it felt very deliberate," while Max Verstappen dismissed inquiries, saying, "Does it matter? Yeah, okay, that's great. I mean, I prefer to speak about the race than just one single moment," and expressed frustration with "racing standards." Analysts like Nico Rosberg called the penalty "very lenient," arguing it "looked like a very intentional retaliation," drawing parallels to the 2017 Vettel-Hamilton incident in Baku and the 1997 Schumacher-Villeneuve clash in Jerez. Christian Horner acknowledged the penalty but expressed frustration, and Toto Wolff noted a "pattern" in "great ones" needing the world against them. Beyond the on-track drama, we explore the mysterious absence of Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll from the Spanish Grand Prix. The team cited an "unforeseen medical issue" and "discomfort" for his withdrawal, but the vagueness of the explanation fueled widespread speculation in the paddock. Theories range from internal team tensions and performance pressure to undisclosed injuries or even sensitive contractual discussions. This episode unpacks the incident's complexities, the differing perspectives, and the lingering questions that continue to shape the narrative of the 2025 Formula 1 season. Join the conversation! Let's jump right into our Quick Hits! First up, that F1 movie is hitting theaters on June 27th. Get ready, because due to insane demand, Warner Bros. and IMAX are actually expanding the Fan-First Premiere Screenings of Apple Original Film F1 to 400 IMAX locations worldwide. And guess what? We've got one right here in Coquitlam! Shifting gears to the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, it's wild to think that since 2016, only two drivers have taken the win there: Max Verstappen in 2016, 2022, 2023, and 2024, and Lewis Hamilton in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. Also, make sure to check out F1: The Academy when it drops on Netflix on May 28th. Fun fact: the last McLaren driver to win in Monaco was Lewis Hamilton back in 2008, the very year he became champion! Huge congrats are also in order for Spaniard Alex Palou for his Indy 500 win over Marcus Ericsson.
