The panel explored the intersection of natural and man-made materials in landscape design, highlighting the balance between aesthetic, sustainability, and functional concerns. Participants discussed how interior and landscape designers borrow nature to create cohesive environments, including outdoor “rooms” and hardscape features softened with plantings. Material selection — stone, metal, glass, composite decking, and synthetic turf — was debated, with attention to local sourcing, durability, environmental impact, and client expectations. The panel also emphasized the sensory experience of landscapes, touching on sight, sound, smell, and taste, and how design can evoke memory and emotion. Sustainability, fire safety, maintenance, and longevity were recurring themes, particularly in the adoption of synthetic materials that mimic natural ones while reducing environmental or upkeep costs. Borrowed landscape: Using surrounding natural colors and textures to inform material choices in hardscape design. Softening hardscape: Plantings and layered design to maintain depth without overwhelming the property. Context-appropriate material selection: Stone, metal, glass, gravel, and concrete chosen according to environment, use, and climate. Trend toward natural imperfection: Broken edges, less precision, biophilic design responding to a highly digital, precise world. Sustainability tensions: Balancing natural and synthetic materials for longevity, cost, and environmental impact. Synthetic decking and recycled composites: TimberTech and similar products for durability, low maintenance, and fire safety. Artificial turf considerations: High-use areas, water savings, lifespan, recycling challenges. Sensory-driven design: Sight, sound, smell, and taste incorporated into landscapes for holistic human experiences. Childhood memory and emotional recall: Design that evokes personal sensory memory for users. Fire and climate constraints: Materials must meet modern safety and insurance standards.

In this episode, you will hear a flowing river for two hours.Improve your health and happiness. The sound you hear in this episode creates a calm atmosphere and at the same time blocks out disturbing noises. This will help you de-stress, unwind, and rest. Enjoy two hours of relaxing sounds to help you relax, focus, study and fall asleep.About ASMR Sleep Recordings:The purpose of ASMR Sleep Recording is to help you sleep and concentrate better. This particular episode lasts two hours and has no ads in the middle, so you won't be woken up or disturbed while focusing or relaxing. When you listen to ASMR Sleep Recordings, you can lock your phone, so you won't get any bothersome stimuli from notifications and other sounds from your phone. You can switch between apps while studying or working without pausing the ambient sound.About our sounds:Water creates a natural white noise. Infused with the relaxing quality of nature and the sound-masking properties of white noise, listening to running water is an ideal way to turn off all the stressful things life brings, and to de-stress. Some of our most popular sounds include a river, flowing creek, babbling brook, gentle waves on a lake, and a bamboo fountain. Rain also creates a natural white noise. Infused with the relaxing quality of nature and the sound-masking properties of white noise, listening to rain is an ideal way to switch off all the stressful things life brings and to de-stress. Some of our most popular sounds are rain on an umbrella, hailstorms, hard rain, soft rain, gentle rain, wind and rain, rain on a car.White noise helps babies and children to get a better and deeper night's sleep. This is because external sounds are masked by the noise. With white noise in the background, your child will not hear annoying cars driving by or dogs barking in bed. This allows your little one to sleep better. And it also saves you as a parent a lot of hours!Pink noise is more common in nature than you might expect. It can be compared to continuous rainfall or wind. In addition to white noise, pink noise is also increasing in popularity, especially in business environments. Because it can increase productivity, concentration and creativity.Brown noise can be compared to waves of the sea, a river current, strong winds or the sound of thunder during a storm. Like pink noise, brown noise is very similar to white noise. However, the frequencies have been lowered even further and a lot more concentrated. This gives it a rougher/coarse tone than pink noise. It sounds a bit deeper and a bit bass-like. The benefits of brown noise are the same as the other types of noise. It provides relaxation, increased focus and improved deep sleep.DISCLAIMER: Be aware that loud noises can damage your hearing. If you can't carry on a conversation without raising your voice while playing one of our spheres, the sound may be too loud for your ears. Do not place the speakers directly next to a baby's ears. If you have trouble hearing or ringing in your ears, stop listening to the white noise immediately and see an audiologist or your doctor. The sounds provided by ASMR Sleep Recordings are for entertainment purposes only and are not a treatment for sleep disorders or tinnitus. Consult your doctor if you regularly have severe sleeping problems, experience fitful/restless sleep or feel tired during the day.ASMR Sleep Recordings is the white noise and nature sounds podcast to help you sleep, study or soothe a baby. In this powerful episode of the Dead America Podcast, host Ed Watters sits down with Tom Kubiniec, President and CEO of Secure It Tactical, to explore an extraordinary journey of reinvention, innovation, and fearless problem solving. Tom's story begins as a heavy metal guitarist profiled by Guitar Player Magazine in 1984, before chronic tendonitis forced him to walk away from music and rebuild his life from the ground up. What followed was an unlikely path into computer supply sales, hospital laptop security, and eventually a phone call from the FBI asking if he could store an “MP5”—which Tom initially thought was a laptop model. That moment launched him into the world of military weapon storage, despite having no firearms background at the time. By boldly claiming expertise where none existed, Tom spent 18 months surveying every Special Forces armory in America, documenting failures, and becoming the authority he said he was. This episode dives deep into the creation of the patented Cradle Grid system, a revolutionary design using one moving part to replace outdated bracket systems with 88–230 components. Tom also exposes hard truths about gun safe fire ratings, decentralized storage strategies, high stress access failures, and why most safes can be breached in seconds. Listeners will gain insight into: • How innovation is born from questioning everything • Why decentralized weapon storage offers tactical advantages • The myth of fire rated gun safes • Designing systems for fight or flight conditions • Building a company without a college degree or military service • Facing fear through land speed racing and extreme climbing This episode is a masterclass in entrepreneurship, engineering innovation, and resilience, showing how curiosity, courage, and relentless learning can redefine an entire industry. What does it mean to fear an all-loving God? Is it just reverence and awe, or are we actually supposed to be afraid? Kaitlyn and Mike wrestle with biblical stories, common misconceptions about Greek and Hebrew word studies, and the difference between fear that drives us away from God and fear that draws us closer. They also explore how a healthy fear of God can free us from fear of people, power, and politics and why that paradox might actually be good news. 0:00 - Theme Song 3:11 - Fear as Respect? 8:23 - Power is Frightening 16:15 - Sponsor - With & For: Psychology and Spirituality for Thriving Podcast. The Porcaro family is rock royalty. They made everything they touched better from their incredible session work to the many Toto hits and Grammys. Steve Porcaro has recently released a new solo album called The Very Day that shows him cleaning house. Most of these songs have been sitting around unfinished for decades so he finally committed to perfecting them (with help from friends like Michael McDonald and Jason Scheff) and getting them out in the world. Steve joins us this week to discuss the process of completing this album, as well as stories from his long session career. There's working with Quincy Jones and David Foster, there's working with Earth Wind and Fire and the Brothers Johnson, and there's his feelings on the many afterlives of "Human Nature" which he wrote and appeared on Thriller. On this episode of Lipps Service, Scott sits down with Toni Cornell and Audrey McGraw for a candid and soulful conversation that traces a friendship born in a jewelry shop in Greece and forged through a lifetime on the road. From growing up backstage to finding their own creative voices, the two dive into what it's like navigating the legacy of their iconic fathers while carving out distinct paths in music and film. Audrey opens up about her recent pivot from acting, including her role on the hit show Landman, to fully committing to her musical journey just three years ago. Meanwhile, Toni reflects on her life as a theater kid and the profound experience of performing with her father, Chris Cornell, who encouraged her to embrace the same genre bending spirit that defined his career. The duo shares behind the scenes stories from Toni's harrowing battle with tonsillitis before a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame performance to a transformative backstage encounter with RAYE that changed her perspective on stage fright forever. Audrey recounts meeting with Lukas Nelson that led to their writing session for "Beautiful When I Cry," and both girls reflect on the "musical moments" that sparked their passion from Lady Gaga to Aerosmith. While the history of the Civil Rights movement is often told through the lens of the Deep South—Selma, Birmingham, and the marches of Dr. King—a different kind of struggle was brewing in the West. In this episode, we dive into the origins and systemic causes of the 1965 Watts Riots in Los Angeles.Drawing from Mike Davis and Jon Wiener's Set the Night on Fire, we explore the "economic flytrap" that snared Black youth in Southern California. We discuss the transition from the legal victories of the early 60s to the harsh realities of "hidden segregation," aggressive LAPD policing, and the political gridlock that denied vital resources to the community. Join us as we contextualize the explosive rage of 1965 not as a random outburst, but as the inevitable result of structural injustice and economic exclusion.Join our US history masterclass on Sunday 15th February hereExplaining History helps you understand the 20th Century through critical conversations and expert interviews. This week, Madi sits down with Shawn and Jill Johnson, Senior Pastors of Red Rocks Church, for a vulnerable conversation about anxiety, mental health, marriage, and how faith shapes the way we walk through life's hardest seasons. In this live podcast conversation, we dive deep into the Year of the Horse and how this powerful energy can support wealth, momentum, and expansion — if you know how to work with it. ✨ What We Talked About in This Episode What the Year of the Horse represents energetically and why it's all about momentum and movement How Horse energy differs from other Chinese zodiac years Opportunities and challenges that come with a Fire Horse year How to mentally and energetically prepare for this fast-moving year Key life areas amplified this year, including career, money, and relationships Common misconceptions about the Year of the Horse How to know if you are personally in harmony with this year's energy What "wealth" really means in Feng Shui (hint: it's more than money) How energy flow in your home or business impacts prosperity Colors, symbols, and elements that support abundance and opportunity this year Simple Feng Shui mistakes that unknowingly block wealth How BaZi works alongside Feng Shui to align personal timing and luck The importance of the five elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) in attracting abundance This conversation is packed with practical wisdom, energetic insight, and tangible tools you can apply immediately.
In this episode, I'm sharing a framework I've lived by for years, long before concepts like nervous system regulation and holistic success became mainstream. Drawing from feng shui, Chinese life principles, and feminine leadership, we explore why so many women feel burned out, scattered, or stuck — and how boundaries, when practiced femininely, actually create flow instead of restriction. This conversation reframes boundaries not as rigid rules, but as energetic containers — the architecture that allows creativity, visibility, wealth, and intuition to expand safely. At the center of this episode are the five elements — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water — and how each one corresponds to a feminine boundary that supports sustainable success in business, personal branding, and money. ✨ In This Episode, We Explore: Why hustle culture fails women (and what ancient systems understood instead) How feng shui extends far beyond your home and into your body, work, and decisions Why boundaries are not masculine — they're a feminine necessity How misaligned energy leads women to overwork instead of real momentum The difference between forcing success and creating the conditions for it ✨ Ready to Go Deeper? Everything I shared in this episode is the energetic foundation behind my work. If you'd like to experience it in a tangible way, start with my free 7-Day Glow Up Challenge — it's designed to help you recalibrate your energy, habits, and self-trust. New York Times best-selling author Don Martin joins me on the podcast for a wonderful episode full of laughs, learning, and beautiful words. We kick things off by talking about his podcast, Head on Fire. Don talks about how and why he started it, and what you can expect to find by listening or watching his episodes. He interviews experts in overlooked fields, searching for answers to life's biggest and smallest questions. From there, we talk about some of his early fandom influences. From the X-Men, to a focus on the Animorphs series by Katherine Applegate. We discuss how his time spent with family in West Virginia and the history and stories that come out of Appalachia formed the foundations for his future work. Don then talks about how he started writing poetry when he was 10-12. Under the guidance of his uncle as his poetry & writing mentor, Don continued to develop and hone his craft. If you haven't found a poet you like, Don says you just haven't found the right one and recommends a number of poets and poetry to read. Link are at the end of the show notes. Then we talk about Don's novel, Verity Vox and The Curse of Foxfire. As mentioned previously, Don talks about how the idea for the novel started with a real town and story in West Virginia. From there, Verity Vox can be described as Kiki's Delivery Service meets Old Gods of Appalachia. We talk spoiler free about the book, and Don talks about how he infused the book's town and characters with his personal history with West Virginia and the family that resides there. We also talk about what's coming next for his work, and some projects that we hinted at are out now, including Hexes and Heroes. A few months back I met John O'Leary at an event, after not knowing much about him before that. His humility, integrity, and wisdom shined through and quickly I recognized that that type of leadership and relationship honest come without a story ...and that story needed to be heard. John O'Leary's story began at nine years old, when a house fire left him burned on 100% of his body and given less than a 1% chance to live. Followed by years of hidden pain, stubborn hope, and a community that refused to let go. We sit with John to explore the heart behind Soul on Fire, the Sony film based on his life. If you've felt stretched thin as a new parent, lonely while building a business, or stuck in a season where yesterday feels better than tomorrow, this conversation offers practical hope. Stream Soul on Fire on Netflix or Amazon, then come back and tell us what moved you most. If this episode encouraged you, follow the show, leave a review, and share it with a friend who needs a reason to believe the best is still ahead.Learn more about Soul on Fire Learn more about John O'Leary --------This Episode is Sponsored by: Tiny Spoon Chef- Get $100 off your customized in home personal chef service using this link! The 4% rule has a major flaw: it doesn't account for healthcare costs. If you're planning to retire early, health insurance premiums will rise sharply as you age—from your 30s through your 60s before Medicare kicks in at 65. This isn't speculation; it's how the U.S. healthcare system works under the ACA. On this episode of the BiggerPockets Money podcast, Mindy Jensen and Scott Trench break down why early retirees need a bigger financial buffer than traditional FIRE calculations suggest. Learn the real cost of healthcare in early retirement, strategies to reduce expenses (geographical arbitrage, health shares, catastrophic coverage), why you can't rely on ACA subsidies long-term, and how to build a healthcare plan that won't derail your path to financial independence. In this roundtable discussion, Martin Willis is joined by fellow attendees Sarah Gamm & Anthony Miller, of Fire in the Cosmos to reflect on what it was like to be present at this landmark event held at the National Press Club. The group shares firsthand impressions of the atmosphere inside the room, the significance of the testimony presented, and the experience of meeting and speaking directly with Brazilian witnesses connected to the Varginha case. From emotional moments to broader implications for UFO/UAP disclosure, this conversation offers a rare, ground-level perspective on a press conference that many are calling a turning point in the public discussion of non-human intelligence. This episode provides listeners and viewers with insights you won't get from headlines alone, what it felt like to be there, how the testimony was received in person, and why this event continues to resonate with those who attended.SHOW NOTES
It is very unclear what is going on between Washington and Minnesota right now. A few days ago Tim Walz compared ICE officers to Nazis, then he turned around and worked with them, so naturally we brought in Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh, Michael Knowles, and Andrew Klavan to explain reality. Daily Wire reporter Jennie Taer joins to share what she saw on an ICE ride along in Minneapolis amid the protests, and the guys also get into all the Oscar movies you have not seen, and neither have we.
