Der Song Radio Rebelde von The Baboon Show ist eine Hymne an den Widerstand, die Freiheit und die Rebellion gegen Unterdrückung. Der Titel „Radio Rebelde“ bezieht sich auf den gleichnamigen kubanischen Radiosender, der 1958 von Che Guevara und der Rebellenbewegung der kubanischen Revolutiongegründet wurde, um revolutionäre Botschaften zu verbreiten.Ich finde hier treffen sich rebellische Musik und rebellische Theologie – ich stelle euch mit dem Song drei Befreiungstheologen vor! Mit in der Folge sind Menschen, die mit mir The Baboon Show Live in Köln gesehen haben.You are not alone! Wir sind nicht allein! Wir sind Radio Rebelde! Revolution rocks!Wir stehen heute vor den gleichen Herausforderungen wie Ernesto Cardenal, Leonardo Boff und Camilo Torres. The Swedish punk rock band The Baboon Show was founded in Stockholm at the end of 2003 by Cecilia Boström (vocals), Håkan Sörle (guitar) and Niclas Svensson (drums). They released their latest album God Bless You All in February 2023 and have toured Europe several times. Now the band is celebrating its twentieth anniversary with THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY 2025! - tour.

You Got a Problem Without Knowing It Ein Problem zu haben ohne es zu wissen – ist ja eine Umschreibung von Selbstgerechtigkeit – wie schnell wird das eigene Leben als „normal“ als Norm angesehen und alle außerhalb dieser Norm werden als „unnormal“ als weniger Wert angesehen. Das könnt ihr auch merken wie wir manchmal schimpfen: „wie behindert oder schwul ist das denn“ Manchmal kennen wie aber auch ein Problem und wollen es nicht wahr haben, weil es unseren Lebensstil stört "You got a fucked up mind" – Wir lügen uns dann unser Leben schön. Heute reden wir im Podcast über das Problem der Sklaverei Wir wissen es eigentlich für ganz viele Produkte unseres täglichen Bedarfs werden Menschen unter den schlimmsten Bedingungen ausgebeutet. Aber gerne tun wir so, als wüssten wir nichts von diesem Problem. Expertin Sarah Vecera sagt im Podcast – die Ausbeutung funktioniert, weil wir wollen, dass es funktioniert. Wir haben einfach nicht aufgehört die schlimmen Strukturen von Kolonialismus und Sklaverei zu beenden. Das funktioniert weiter so „gut“ weil es in unserem Denken rassistische Strukturen gibt – die Menschen, die da ausgebeutet und ihrer Lebenschancen beraubt werden, sind eben nicht so schlau, nicht so zivilisiert oder was auch sonst noch alles, wie wir weißen gebildeten humanistischen Europäerinnen und Europäer. You got a fucked up mindOh no, You got a problem without knowing it Leider ignorieren wir dieses Problem gerne, obwohl wir es eigentlich kennen.  Um anzufangen müssten wir etwas gegen unsere Bequemlichkeit tun, unser Verhalten ändern und auch viel öfter über dieses Problem reden. Alex Schwers ist Profimusiker. Er spielt Schlagzeug. Seine aktuelle Hauptband heißt Slime, aber er drischt auch immer wieder für Die Lokalmatadore, Die Gestörten Becker oder auch für die Jeff Dahl Group auf die Felle. Neben seiner Karriere als Drummer, ist er schon seit vielen Jahren im Bereich der Veranstaltungen von Punk- und Rock-Konzerten tätig. Endlich wieder Ruhrpott Rodeo 2020 sollte die 14te Ausgabe des beliebten Festivals auf dem Freigelände am Flughafen Schwarze Heide in Hünxe/Bottrop stattfinden. Aufgrund von Corona musste es allerdings verschoben werden. Zunächst ins Jahr 2021, dann ins Jahr 2022. Und wenn alles gut geht, findet es dieses Jahr wirklich statt. 01. + 02. + 03. Juli in 2022 Das Programm liest sich dieses Jahr wie ein Who-is-Who der Punk-Rock-Geschichte. So spielen zum Tanze auf: Social Distortion, Slime, Madball, Kreator, Wizo, Gluecifer, Dritte Wahl, Dropkick Murphys, Suicidal Tendencies, Baboon Show, Pascow und viele mehr. Darüber hinaus gibt es noch einen Überraschungs-Act, der ansonsten Stadien füllt. Mehr wird nicht verraten. Es wird nie mehr wie es mal war
Die Festival-Kultur ist zwar tief verankert in der Freizeitgestaltung Punk-Rock-Süchtiger und dennoch ist das Veranstalten eines solchen Festivals eine absolute Wundertüte. Aktuell ist nahezu jede Band auf Tour. Das bedeutet: Man bekommt aktuell kaum Material und Fachpersonal zur Durchführung eines solchen Events. Schwers geht davon aus, dass die Kosten für solche Veranstaltungen im Schnitt 35 Prozent höher ausfallen, als in den Jahren zuvor. Hinzu kommt aktuell eine „No-Show-Rate“ von bis zu 40 Prozent. Das heißt 40 Prozent der Gäste, die eine Karte haben, kommen nicht zur Veranstaltung. Das heißt darüber hinaus, diese fehlenden Personen konsumieren auch keine Speisen und Getränke. Schwers sagt: „Es ist ein Irrtum zu glauben, dass es nach Corona wieder so wird wie davor. Es wird nicht mehr so wie früher! Wir sprechen mittlerweile von einer Zeit vor Corona und von einer Zeit nach Corona.“ Punker mit Wohnmobil
Auch die Punk-Fans rüsten auf. So hält Schwers inzwischen 1.500 Wohnwagen- oder Caravan-Parzellen parat, um diesen gestiegenen Bedürfnissen Rechnung zu tragen. Anfangs kamen ein paar Leute mit Zelt, inzwischen mag man es komfortabler. Wir wollten wissen

Courtney Love (1964-) är en kvinna vars stil ständigt skapat både rabalder och rubriker. Men så har hon under sin karriär varken klätt sig eller bettet sig som någon svärmorsdröm, tvärtom. Hennes look har kallats för kinderwhore (slå upp det) och hon har beskrivits som: den mest kontroversiella kvinnan i rockens historia. Nu är hon tillbaka med ny musik. Och nya rubriker. I veckans STIL skärskådar vi denna artist som alltid vänt och vridit på vad som egentligen utgör kvinnlighet. I år fyller Courtney Love femtio och har under tjugofem av de åren hållit många i media sysselsatta med att skriva om hennes skandalösa look och leverne. Ibland har man även uppmärksammat hennes musik. ”Om jag dör utan att ha skrivit en, två, tre eller fyra fenomenala låtar så vet jag fan i mig inte varför jag har levt över huvud taget”, har hon sagt – och gjort. 1994 – för precis tjugo år sedan– släpptes gruppen Hole sitt andra album Live Through This. Det blev en platta som ingen annan. Låtar som Doll Parts och Miss World kryllade av smarta texter från ett kvinnligt perspektiv och Courtney Love borrade sig rakt in i många unga kvinnors hjärtan – och hjärnor. Den uppföljande plattan Celebrity Skin var inte sämre den. Courtney Love rönte dessutom framgång som skådis i filmen The People vs Larry Flynt, om den kontroversielle grundaren av tidningen Hustler. Hon blev nominerad till en Golden Globe för sin roll som spattig påtänd strippa. Trots det så har Courtney Love blivit svartmålad som en talanglös nolla som sög ut sin make, Kurt Cobain i bandet Nirvana. Om varför denna seglivade föreställning fortsätter att frodas talar vi om i veckans program. Vi har även talat med Ulrika Dahl om vikten av dåliga förebilder. Hon är docent i genusvetenskap och aktuell med boken Skamgrepp: Femme-inistiska essäer. Vi har även träffat bandet The Baboon Show som upprätthåller en rockig stil som blivit alltmer marginaliserad i dagens slicka mainstreamkultur. Och så har vi mött en man som delar ett stort andligt intresse med Courtney Love – skådespelaren Claes Malmberg. Veckans gäst är Ika Johannesson, kulturjournalist.
