Anxiety Relief for Irritability & Overwhelm — I Just Need to Feel Calm Again | Alternate Nostril Breathing Guided Meditation Anxiety relief for those days when everything is getting under your skin. This ten minute guided meditation is for the moment you catch yourself thinking "I just need to feel calm again" — when the noise, the questions, the one more thing have worn your patience thin, your shoulders are tight, your jaw is clenched, and your voice is sharper than you meant it to be. Underneath irritation there is almost always something quieter. You're tired. You're overloaded. You've been holding too much together. Today we use alternate nostril breathing — nadi shodhana, the balancing breath — breathing in for four and out for six, giving your mind one gentle thing to do at a time while your nervous system finds its way back down. Slow, rhythmic breathwork for stress relief, overwhelm and an overstimulated nervous system. Hosted by clinical hypnotherapist and former paramedic Martin Hewlett, Calming Anxiety is a daily ten minute guided meditation for anxiety relief, panic attacks, stress and sleep. You don't have to become a different person today. You don't have to be endlessly patient. You simply need a little more space. ⏱️ Time Chapters * 00:00 – I just need to feel calm again * 00:20 – When the smallest things get under your skin * 00:47 – What's underneath the irritation * 01:13 – Welcome — this is your moment * 01:31 – Finding your quiet place * 01:42 – Alternate nostril breathing (nadi shodhana) explained * 02:23 – Guided breathing — in for four, out for six * 04:24 – Softening the shoulders, forehead and hands * 04:56 – Visualisation — laying the weight down * 05:44 – Today's gentle affirmations * 08:04 – You don't have to become a different person * 08:21 – Three daily caring tips * 09:14 – Returning to the room * 10:05 – Anchored, sharing and closing thoughts

When you listen to ASMR Sleep Recordings, you can lock your phone, so you won't get any bothersome stimuli from notifications and other sounds from your phone. You can switch between apps while studying or working without pausing the ambient sound.About our sounds:Water creates a natural white noise. Infused with the relaxing quality of nature and the sound-masking properties of white noise, listening to running water is an ideal way to turn off all the stressful things life brings, and to de-stress. Some of our most popular sounds include a river, flowing creek, babbling brook, gentle waves on a lake, and a bamboo fountain. Rain also creates a natural white noise. Infused with the relaxing quality of nature and the sound-masking properties of white noise, listening to rain is an ideal way to switch off all the stressful things life brings and to de-stress. Some of our most popular sounds are rain on an umbrella, hailstorms, hard rain, soft rain, gentle rain, wind and rain, rain on a car.White noise helps babies and children to get a better and deeper night's sleep. This is because external sounds are masked by the noise. With white noise in the background, your child will not hear annoying cars driving by or dogs barking in bed. This allows your little one to sleep better. And it also saves you as a parent a lot of hours!Pink noise is more common in nature than you might expect. It can be compared to continuous rainfall or wind. In addition to white noise, pink noise is also increasing in popularity, especially in business environments. Because it can increase productivity, concentration and creativity.Brown noise can be compared to waves of the sea, a river current, strong winds or the sound of thunder during a storm. Like pink noise, brown noise is very similar to white noise. However, the frequencies have been lowered even further and a lot more concentrated. This gives it a rougher/coarse tone than pink noise. It sounds a bit deeper and a bit bass-like. The benefits of brown noise are the same as the other types of noise. It provides relaxation, increased focus and improved deep sleep.DISCLAIMER: Be aware that loud noises can damage your hearing. If you can't carry on a conversation without raising your voice while playing one of our spheres, the sound may be too loud for your ears. Do not place the speakers directly next to a baby's ears. If you have trouble hearing or ringing in your ears, stop listening to the white noise immediately and see an audiologist or your doctor. The sounds provided by ASMR Sleep Recordings are for entertainment purposes only and are not a treatment for sleep disorders or tinnitus. Consult your doctor if you regularly have severe sleeping problems, experience fitful/restless sleep or feel tired during the day.ASMR Sleep Recordings is the white noise and nature sounds podcast to help you sleep, study or soothe a baby. The String Quartet by Virginia Woolf — A Calming Bedtime Story for Sleep & Insomnia | Books at Bedtime Drift off tonight to a dreamlike bedtime story for sleep and insomnia, read slowly and gently to help you fall asleep naturally. Tonight on Books at Bedtime, Martin reads Virginia Woolf's "The String Quartet" — a short, hypnotic piece from her 1921 collection Monday or Tuesday. It begins in a crowded London drawing room, full of overheard fragments — the weather, the traffic, a rent too high, a glove left on the train. The small anxious chatter of a mind that cannot settle. Then four musicians take their seats, the first violin counts one, two, three, and everything changes. The music carries the listener somewhere else entirely. A pear tree on a mountain. Fountains and falling drops. The waters of the Rhône running swift and deep over silver fish and yellow pebbles. Lovers on the grass, silver horns at dawn, a rose leaf falling from an enormous height like a little parachute. It is one of the loveliest things Woolf ever wrote about how it feels when sound takes over from thought — when the fretting mind finally lets go and simply floats. Which makes it, we think, close to perfect for the last thing you hear tonight. There is no need to follow the story. There is no plot to lose. Let the words move over you like the music moves over the people in that room, and let yourself drift. Virginia Woolf (1882–1941) remains one of the most quietly beautiful voices in English literature, and this piece is in the public domain. Read by clinical hypnotherapist and former paramedic Martin Hewlett, host of Calming Anxiety and Coffee Break for the Soul. Sleep well, my friend.  Buy Me a Coffee: Support hosting costs at https://www.buymeacoffee.com/calminganxiety Newsletter: Subscribe on Substack at https://calminganxietypodcast.substack.com/?r=6zm0sc&utm_campaign=pub-share-checklist Rate & Review: Leave a 5-star review on Spotify or Apple Podcasts to help us reach more listeners! YouTube: Watch all episodes at https://www.youtube.com/c/calminganxiety?sub_confirmation=1 Social Media Support: For younger listeners struggling with social media stress, visit https://www.icanhelp.net/ Music: All music by Chris CollinsBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/calming-anxiety-guided-meditation-sleep-hypnosis-panic-attack-relief--4110266/support.Ready for More Calm?Thank you for listening to the Calming Anxiety Podcast, featuring guided meditation, mindfulness, and sleep hypnosis sessions with Martin Hewlett. Title NSDR / Non-Sleep Deep Rest — Reach Deep Rest Without Forcing It | 10-Minute Physiological Sigh Meditation If you feel tired in a way that sleep never seems to touch — wired, switched-on, unable to power down even when you're exhausted — this 10-minute NSDR (Non-Sleep Deep Rest) session is for you. Hosted by clinical hypnotherapist and former paramedic Martin Hewlett, this guided meditation helps you reach deep rest without forcing it, resetting an overstimulated nervous system while you're still awake to feel it happen. Today's practice is built around the physiological sigh — a double breath in through the nose followed by one long, slow breath out. Research from Stanford found it's one of the fastest ways to bring the body down out of high alert, flipping the biological off switch and engaging the vagus nerve. From there we let the breath go completely free and sink into non-sleep deep rest: nothing to solve, nothing to reach, entirely off duty. Whether you're looking for anxiety relief in the middle of a racing day, a way to quiet a "tired but wired" mind, or a daily NSDR habit to protect your calm, give yourself permission to lie down, soften, and let the whole system settle. ⏱️ Time Chapters00:00 – "The Tiredness Sleep Doesn't Touch" (Why You Need Deep Rest, Not More Sleep)00:36 – Today's Focus: I Can Reach Deep Rest Without Forcing It00:41 – Introduction from Martin & Anchored App Overview01:16 – Resetting the Nervous System Before We Rest01:38 – The Physiological Sigh & the Stanford Research Behind It01:56 – Settling In: Lying Down, Letting the Body Fall Heavy02:15 – Guided Physiological Sighs (Three Rounds Together)03:15 – Letting the Breath Go Free: Effortless Rise & Fall04:31 – Planting Today's Truth: The Warm Amber Light04:52 – NSDR Affirmations for Nervous-System Reset (First Pass)06:32 – Staying Off Duty: Nothing to Solve, Nothing to Reach06:41 – Affirmations for Deep Subconscious Integration (Second Pass)08:00 – Reuniting Mind, Body & Soul: You Are Worthy08:27 – 3 Daily Caring Tips for Building an NSDR Habit09:12 – Gently Awakening & Returning to the Room09:47 – Closing Reflection & Notice How You Feel Now09:55 – Outro, Community Support, & Sign-off

--With Sam's Healing Podcast After infidelity, promises can sound reassuring—but how do you know whether your partner is actually changing? In this episode, Lora Cheadle talks with Sam from Sam's Healing Podcast about what real recovery looks like on the unfaithful side of betrayal. They explore why actions matter more than apologies, why the unfaithful partner needs to take initiative instead of waiting to be managed, and why becoming teachable, confrontable, and emotionally mature is essential for rebuilding trust. They also discuss communication tools like AVR—acknowledge, validate, reassure—along with self-regulation, co-regulation, childhood patterns, boundaries, and the difference between performing recovery and genuinely becoming someone new.   Top 3 Takeaways Stop listening only to what they say. Watch what they do. Promises like “It will never happen again” have very little value if they are not backed by consistent behavior. Real change shows up between sessions: seeking help, reading, doing exercises, attending meetings when appropriate, learning new skills, telling the truth, following through, and taking initiative without being parented by the betrayed partner. The unfaithful partner goes first. The person who created the rupture has a responsibility to lead the repair. That means booking appointments, finding resources, doing the work, becoming teachable and open to correction, and learning how to respond to the betrayed partner's pain rather than becoming defensive or demanding that they “get over it.” Healing requires more than understanding why the affair happened. Childhood wounds and family-of-origin patterns matter, but insight alone does not automatically create empathy, emotional maturity, communication skills, or safety. Both partners eventually need to learn self-regulation and co-regulation, while the unfaithful partner demonstrates through consistent action that they are becoming someone capable of rebuilding trust.   Favorite Quotes “Forget about what they're saying. Look at what they're doing.” —Sam “The only currency is action.” —Sam “There is a time where we as unfaithful stop saying what we will do. We just do it.” —Sam “You can't regulate yourself out of a toxic relationship.” —Lora Cheadle   About Sam Sam's Healing Podcast is brought to you by one of Infidelity Recovery's most prominent and renowned influencers and YouTubers. Not only that, there's further confirmation of that ‘being the lead in your own story' point that comes up here and there on the podcast, and some good chat about her role in Desiree Akhavan's ‘The Bisexual', working with Guy Ritchie and OF COURSE a good amount about her upcoming film ‘Calm With Horses', alongside Barry Keoghan and Cosmo Jarvis. Rather than discovering a life without hardship, Linda learned that believers can walk through profound difficulty with the love, presence, and guidance of God. Linda and TS discuss her book:Praying the Word: 90 Scripture-Powered Prayers to Calm an Anxious HeartLinda explains the principle behind the book: rather than approaching prayer only from the standpoint of our circumstances, believers can bring God's own Word back to Him in prayer. The book includes 90 topics and Scripture-based prayers designed to help readers engage biblical truth, pray according to God's Word, listen for His direction, and journal what they believe God is speaking to their hearts. Linda describes it as an approach that combines Scripture, prayer, listening, and personal reflection. In This EpisodeLinda Evans Shepherd's personal journey of faithTrusting God through suffering and unexpected tragedyWhy Christianity does not promise a life free from hardshipDeveloping a genuine relationship with GodThe importance of reading and praying ScriptureHow God's Word can shape our prayersUsing Scripture when confronting anxietyListening for God's direction while spending time in His WordThe devotional and journaling approach of Praying the WordWhy spiritual formation requires relationship with GodThe mission of AWSA — Advanced Writers and Speakers AssociationEncouraging Christian writers and speakers to develop their callingAWSA's retreats, conferences, workshops, fellowship, and awardsThe significance of the Golden Scroll AwardsWhy one book, page, message, or microphone can change someone's lifeUsing personal testimony to encourage people to trust GodThe multiplying impact of Christian publishing, broadcasting, and mediaLinda also discusses the ministry philosophy behind AWSA. The organization encourages Christian writers and speakers not merely to develop professionally, but to go deeper in their relationship with God and the Holy Spirit. At CPE Summer 2026, AWSA participants gathered for retreats, teaching, fellowship, workshops, and the Golden Scroll Awards. One of the central themes of the conversation is the extraordinary reach of the written and spoken word. As Linda explains, Christian authors and speakers may never know who will encounter a particular page, broadcast, testimony, or message—but that encounter may encourage someone, strengthen someone's faith, or even become a turning point in that person's life. All summer, I've been talking about one idea: that simplicity and focus are not optional.Simplicity and focus are the harder, but better, choice and the fastest path to a profitable, sustainable expert business. And they only get more relevant as your business grows. If you want a business where you are not constantly feeling behind and overwhelmed, and where your success isn't just in your bottom line, but how you live your life, you have to be able to do three things. You have to attract the right people, sell without it being a drawn-out process, and deliver in a way that is actually profitable. The No BS Business Model gives you that one clear strategy for each of these. The No BS model came from Steve and I doing everything for everyone and ending up overworked and in debt, then paring down our business to just two offers, on one platform, with a clear audience. Our simplification was born out of necessity, but it gave me incredible relief and the success I had been chasing. And now I've taught that model to thousands of expert service business owners over the last ten years. Today, I'm going to walk you through it.Sponsored by Squarespace:Free Guide to Squarespace Circle: nobsmastery.com/squarespaceTune into this episode to hear:The low-tech, low-investment strategy that consistently brings the right people through your doorThe game-changing sales process that eliminates tire kickers and hagglers and sets you up as a trusted advisorHow intensives cut the BS and let you focus on delivering your best, most valuable workHow implementing the No BS model impacts not just your business, but your whole lifeResources:Grab the first chapter of my new book Scale Solo: scalesolobook.comProgram: No BS Mastery: https://nobsmastery.com/programThe Price to Freedom Calculator™ - http://nobsmastery.com/priceGrab a copy of my book: Badass Your Brand - https://www.badassyourbrand.com/The 7 Steps to $30k Months Playbook: nobsmastery.com/playbook

No fanfare, nobody clapping — you just did it. This session is about calm and control, about positive breathing, about confidence and self-worth, and about the smallest, simplest thing in the world — a smile on the out breath. Three Back-To-School Parenting Tips for More Joy All-Around

Time to move from unorganized chaos, into... organized chaos!Yep. Sometimes that is what the start of school feels like. I'm Flora McCormick, licensed therapist and parenting coach, and I'm sharing three sustainable parenting strategies to help you start the year with more joy and ease: plan for the worst, start family meetings, and get a life.First, we talk about why realistic expectations are a form of kindness (honestly - to yourself AND your kids). “Plan for the worst” doesn't mean assuming your kids will fail. It means looking ahead at what typically goes sideways, like waking up earlier, missing shoes, forgotten gear, and rushed mornings, and building a simple back-to-school routine that prevents avoidable blowups. When you feel prepared, you're more in control of your response and less likely to swing between overly gentle parenting and overly harsh discipline.Next, we dig into family meetings as a practical Positive Discipline tool. I walk you through a three-part structure: an appreciation circle to build connection and gratitude, one collaborative problem-solving topic so you're not doing top-down rules or inconsistent consequences, and a small repeatable “fun finish” so kids actually buy in. Finally, we get honest about parent self-care. When you're depleted, patience disappears. “Get a life” means finding one doable way to reconnect with what makes you feel like you, which helps the whole family system.✨Want more?  ✨JOIN me in the SUMMER of support:

If you've ever wondered why dysregulated kids need calm authority, the answer starts with the parent who leads instead of reacts. In this episode, Dr. Roseann shares a powerful lesson from her mother and explains how Regulation First Parenting™ helps families build emotional safety, resilience, and lasting regulation. If you've ever felt like you have to be louder, stricter, or more forceful to get your child to listen, you're not alone. But it's not bad parenting—it's a dysregulated brain. In this episode, I share one of the greatest gifts my mother ever gave me: calm authority. Her steady leadership taught me that true strength isn't about control—it's about creating emotional safety. You'll learn why behavior is communication, how your nervous system shapes your child's ability to regulate, and the simple mindset shift that can completely change difficult parenting moments. Let's calm the brain first. Why Do Dysregulated Kids Need Calm Authority Instead of Punishment? Many parents believe stronger consequences create better behavior. The truth is, dysregulated kids don't learn through fear—they learn through safety. When your child is overwhelmed, their thinking brain goes offline. Your calm nervous system becomes the anchor that helps them return to regulation.Key takeaways:Calm authority creates emotional safety.Leadership isn't permissiveness—it's steadiness.Your child borrows your regulation before they build their own.Imagine your child screaming after school. Instead of matching their intensity, you pause, stay grounded, and guide them through the moment. That's Regulation First Parenting™ in action.

Opening Bible verse: Proverbs 24:2 IF YOU ARE A NEW LISTENER, WELCOME! BEGIN HERE: This year we are doing my group coaching course together via this podcast! It's free and it only gets better as the year progresses.  In January we began with God at the center of our day and our home. We worked to build the habit of a morning prayer routine. I highly recommend the rosary. It's only about 20 minutes and you'll meditate on the whole life of Jesus. February is the month of decluttering. Saturday episodes have been added to focus on decluttering in the kitchen. Each month will have a different focus area and the Saturday episodes will help you focus on one small section of that room.  In March we decluttered your wardrobe. In April we are moving into budgeting for food. Our Saturday episodes will still be about decluttering. Our declutter focus area for April is your bedroom. In May we dreamed big! June brings us to one of the most useful topics in my group coaching course…meal planning. Ah, the feel of knowing exactly what's for dinner is the most stress-free feeling in the world! Our declutter focus area for June is Hallways/Landings. July is a much anticipated month of money/budgeting. Our Saturday episodes (otherwise known as the declutter episodes) will focus on decluttering TOYS! August is the month that brings it all together. Routines and Rhythms. Our declutter focus area for this month is your garage or shed. Give this first episode of 2026 a listen to hear where to begin: 316. Your 2026 Life Overhaul Plan: Faith, Clutter, Debt, Diet and More!  If you've never prayed a rosary or you want to see how you can incorporate it into active decluttering, here is the first episode of my rosary declutter series from last summer. 288.
