You need a support system. You may be lonely. Paramedics, in a lot of ways, are well prepared to go to PA school but their skill set is not equipped to manage diseases long term. A lot of what most PA's do is specialty work on disease processes long term and not emergent conditions.  Being an ER PA is a lot different than it may appear from the outside. A lot of our job is care provided away from the patient. We tend to be the limiting factor, so we have to use our time efficiently. We are isolated from tasks that allow you to do the work reflexively.
