Felipe Camargo is one of the top climbers in our sport with sends up to 9b and V15. That's impressive… But what's more impressive is that he began climbing Brazil where there was no professional climbers, no routes past 8b+, and no modern training facilities.Felipe managed to send the iconic 50m 9a+ Papichulo by mainly training on a 3x3m spray wall at 85+ degrees! And even more incredible, is that he didn't have other climbers of his caliber there to push him. He was the trail blazer. His story of going from unknown Brazilian kid to the first professional climber in South America is amazing and sounds almost like a fairy tale. But his hard work and passion is the real secret behind some of his “lucky” breaks.Over his career Felipe has gone on to establish Brazil's first 8c, 8c+, 9a, and 9a+! You can see some of these in his latest film, a breakout hit, Tropical Lines. He also won the Netflix series Ultimate Beastmaster. He has taken his earnings and time and poured in back in the Brazilian community to help the next generation of climbers. To give them opportunities that he didn't have. SHOW NOTES:El Bon Combat VideoTropical Lines VideoSupport the Show.Support us on Patreon: HEREVisit our podcast page: HERESign-up with one of our coaches: HEREFollow us on Instagram: HERE

We jump back into our conversation with Brian, Kristina and Casey Advice for newbies Reflect on the calls that you run. What went well and what went poorly? Are there providers that did a great job that are worth emulating? Find those mentors that are worth emulating. Also make note of those that are worth avoiding.Keep in mind there are multiple right ways to do things. All of us in emergency medicine need to be ready to teach. Students and patients. The ability to teach demonstrates true understanding. Teach your thought process. Going from EMS to PA. It is not a quick process, and it is very expensive. It is hard on your family. You need a support system. You may be lonely. Paramedics, in a lot of ways, are well prepared to go to PA school but their skill set is not equipped to manage diseases long term. A lot of what most PA's do is specialty work on disease processes long term and not emergent conditions.  Being an ER PA is a lot different than it may appear from the outside. A lot of our job is care provided away from the patient. We tend to be the limiting factor, so we have to use our time efficiently. We are isolated from tasks that allow you to do the work reflexively. In this episode, we talk about the importance of mentorship in the workplace. There's an awful lot to learn from experienced workers, and there has been a long tradition of passing down that experience – usually, in the office. But when Gen Z entered the workforce, it was remote. How did that impact building mentorship in the earlier days of their careers?  Tracy Ziemer, one of host Cloey Callahan's first mentors, shares what advice she passed on to Callahan over Zoom at the beginning of her career. And Danielle Farage, a Gen Z entrepreneur, tells us how she is redefining mentorship with the idea of "friend-torships."

Jenny Gou traded a successful corporate career for real estate, where she discovered limitless possibilities & achieved unprecedented growth. Now managing partner at Vertical Street Ventures (VSV), Jenny shares a story of balancing priorities, finding opportunities, and creating a thriving business that should inspire those seeking to make a career shift & achieve financial independence. For the video interview, visit: https://youtu.be/iz4V-IWIRPI From Corporate Success to Real Estate She began her journey at Procter & Gamble, where she spent 13 fulfilling years. A turning point came when her son asked if she could join a school field trip, and she had to decline. As family priorities grew stronger, Jenny & her husband decided to seek a better work-life balance. Recognizing the potential for a better lifestyle through real estate, they started with single-family rentals, but quickly realized that multifamily offered greater opportunities. In 2020, Jenny made the decision to leave her corporate career & dive into the world of multifamily real estate. Finding Mentors & Partners As she transitioned from corporate life, Jenny found a mentor who would become her partner at VSV. She approached him with a mindset of providing value & accelerating her learning. By assisting with property management & underwriting deals, Jenny gained invaluable hands-on experience. For those looking to make a similar transition, she emphasizes attending conferences & events to provide opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals, find partners with complementary skills & learn from experienced professionals. Creating a Multi-Faceted Real Estate Business VSV has evolved into three distinct businesses. The first is apartment syndication, focused on finding deals, raising capital, and managing properties. The second is a CPA firm that provides accounting services for real estate investors. This expansion was driven by the recognition that investors seek professional guidance to maximize tax savings & ensure financial compliance. Finally, VSV has a coaching business, the Multifamily Academy, where Jenny shares her expertise and guides aspiring syndicators on their path to financial independence. Capital Raising Today Jenny emphasizes the importance of knowing the sponsorship team and thoroughly evaluating the team leading the project; understanding their track record, communication practices, and investor experience. By conducting due diligence, capital raisers can confidently answer questions and provide the necessary reassurance to attract funding. Capital raisers should showcase the alignment between sponsors & investors, emphasizing sponsors' personal investments. This instills confidence & demonstrates a shared commitment to success. Those who prioritize these strategies can position themselves as trustworthy & knowledgeable partners, ultimately driving successful capital raising efforts. Key Takeaways: Work-life balance: Many people look to real estate as a career that allows prioritizing family & achieve better work-life balance. Seek mentors & partners: Find mentors and partners who can provide guidance, support, and opportunities for learning and growth. Diversify & expand: VSV evolved into a multi-faceted business by diversifying offerings to meet the needs of their investors. Jerome and special guest Jonathan Cronstadt dive into how Jonathan achieved a "double unicorn" exit from Kajabi. Through two foundational elements - relationships and delivering value - and fate, Jonathan went from working with Joe Polish to achieving a $2 billion valuation. This conversation focuses on the idea that success is not a destination but a journey of joy and fulfillment. They discuss the concept of hedonic adaptation, which states that any reward will have diminishing returns over time, and how this affects income growth. Jonathan also discusses the tricky balance between financial freedom and hard work, risk-taking, commitment, and dedication to one's goals. They share personal anecdotes about their journey to illustrate the price of success and what is needed to reach it. This episode is an inspiring reminder that financial freedom is achievable with hard work, support from family and friends, mentorship, and meaningful investments in oneself. [00:01 - 13:15] From 6 Million to a 2 Billion Valuation: J Kron's Journey to the Double Unicorn Exit The two foundational elements of Jonathan's success are relationships and delivering value Joy comes from the pursuit, overcoming of challenges, and playing the game Success is a journey, not a destination You will never know the price of success until after you've paid it The pursuit of fulfillment is more important than financial freedom [13:16 - 23:32] The Cost of Success: Risk, Time, and Effort to Reach Your Goals Financial freedom is having the means to live life how you want it Success comes with a cost, which may be measured in years, risk, time, and effort Taking accountability for circumstances is essential to move forward Investing in yourself is vital and requires hard work and discipline [23:33 - 35:46] From Think and Grow Rich to Joe Polish: John's Journey of Finding Mentors and Taking Risks for Success How Jonathan met Steve James, who taught him the importance of sales Moved to Arizona to be mentored by Joe Polish in marketing Other mentors include Matt Beak Holmes, Tony Robbins, Mike Cans, Ryan Dice, Perry Belcher, Ron Frazier, and Kenny Reeder [35:47 - 43:09] How Watches Represent a Symbol of Achievement There is valuable wisdom available for very little money Social media is a voyeuristic, narcissistic dream that people use to show off their highlight reels People don't love you for who you are.
