But how can they effectively achieve this and succeed in the competitive world of online retail? Many e-commerce platforms can help build an online store, but they may not drive enough traffic to scale in the online space. Instead, entrepreneurs can leverage available brand networks and distribute their products in various online stores and through retailers and influencers who can help direct traffic and generate orders passively. David Perry shares his journey helping connect online retailers and influencers, enabling them to extend their reach, diversify their product offerings, and craft compelling, personalized customer experiences. In this episode of the Quiet Light Podcast, Pat Yates sits down with David Perry, Co-founder and CEO of Carro, to discuss how brands can thrive online. David talks about Carro and what it does, the process of working with Carro as a brand, retailer, or influencer, the control of product pricing, and who owns the customer records.

David Perry is a firm believer that the ability to relate in conversation on a whole host of different topics will create opportunities for meaningful connections that can help you grow your business. Join us for this episode of Push to be More as he shares his thoughts on leadership, how he deals with challenges and the importance of learning something about everything and everything about something! Here's some of the great stuff that we cover in this show:David moved to England in the early 1990s. He got involved with the game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which was a huge success and led to Playmates Toys funding his own video game company, Shiny Entertainment. From there, he went on to have an incredibly successful career in video games, e-commerce businesses, and more - all thanks to taking advantage of opportunities as they arose.David discusses the idea of levelling up. In a video game, every little thing you do progresses you towards the next level. This keeps people playing. In life too, sometimes people get stuck and don't move forward If they don't know what the next stage is, or can't see themselves getting closer to a goal.According to David, titles are not important in a company. He talks about how to use the idea of levelling up in leadership by finding 10Xers (talented people who just work it out) and hiring those who think outside the box.David talks about the importance of continuous growth and learning new things, even if they don't seem immediately relevant. He recounts a story of how he got free servers for his startup by cold-calling companies from Wikipedia and how such attitude gets things done.Learning something about everything and everything about something is a philosophy David consciously adopted which has led him to some amazing opportunities in his life.-----------------------ABOUT DAVEDavid Perry is an innovative leader in the gaming industry whose technology has shaped how we see gaming today and in the future. His work with Gaikai led to Sony PlayStation acquiring his company to establish itself in streaming video games from the cloud - PlayStation Now.David now finds himself as the CEO of Carro, a partnership e-commerce network designed for Shopify brands. By teaming up with other companies in the same space, over 30,000 brands using Carro are able to improve brand recognition, sales volume and acquire new customers.-----------------------For complete show notes, transcript and links to our guest, check out our website: www.pushtobemore.com.

In this episode, Susan interviews David Perry, a 30-year veteran of the gaming industry. He started by making games just for fun – he had no idea there was any money to be made. His first game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, went on to be number one in the charts. He continued his path doing things “just for fun” and was also the creator of the popular games like the Matrix, Terminator and cult classic, Earthworm Jim. He started asking himself, if movies and music could be streamed, why not video games? From that idea, he created Gaikai. David went on to sell Gaikai to Sony PlayStation for $380 million and that company has been instrumental in creating the livestream foundation for video gaming in the cloud. David is now the CEO of Carro, a new e-commerce partnership network used by over 30K Shopify brands with over 320M visitors a month. Carro (GetCarro.com) helps brands with their e-commerce and sales by partnering with other brands in the network. David credits his success to having fun doing what he loves. You will ultimately find opportunity where you least expect it, and innovation through trying to build on that opportunity until you cannot beat it. How do you know who the best influencers are for your business? In today's video you're going to hear all about brand and influencer partnerships and how to find the perfect influencer for your company. Influencer marketing has become one of the most popular ways to market products on social media, but it's not always easy to find the right person or people for your brand. We're going to go over a few ways that can help make finding them easier so let me show you how it's done. ABOUT DAVIDDavid Perry is the CEO of Carro, a new e-commerce partnership network. With over 30K Shopify brands using the service, Carro helps brands gain attention, sales, and new customers by partnering with other brands in the network. Sony PlayStation acquired Perry's previous company Gaikai to establish leadership in the future of streaming video games from the cloud - a service called PlayStation Now. Perry is no stranger to success; he has been one of the driving forces behind some of the most innovative gaming technology to date. His work on Gaikai has helped shape the future of gaming as we know it. We can't wait to see what he does next! Here's what we cover in this episode:Influencers are often better at identifying which brands their followers will enjoy than the companies themselves. To get around this problem, Carro was developed to match influencer popularity with customer preference by analyzing large volumes of social media data . The platform, Carro was built to help influencers discover new brands and products they love through personalization. Brands are able reach out with their insights on different demographics in an authentic way that would make them feel special- which leads into one of today's top discussions: artificial intelligence (AI) versus human interaction! Influencer marketing is changing and now leaning towards social commerce as followers are becoming eager consumers who want access any given moment. Today many people may be able to get away with posting product selfies without being too pushy but this will eventually lead to a more diverse group of people interested in purchasing from an influencer because they get a a full view of the product by engaging with the content. David Perry began developing video games out of his bedroom at 15. Over the next thirty years, he was a leading game designer and worked with companies like Disney, McDonalds, and Atari creating games like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Aladdin and the Matrix video game. In that time he built and sold two companies: Shiny Entertainment to Atari, and Gaikai to Sony (300M+).His expertise lead to a main stage TED talk (1M+ views), an honorary doctorate in Engineering from Queens University, and guest speaking at Stanford, MIT, and many others. After selling Gaikai, David "retired" and picked up photography as a hobby. He noticed while doing self portraits for influencers that the monetization scheme for influencers was broken. He dived into the industry and then founded Carro in 2017, a cross platform Shopify app that allows influencers and brands to collaborate together to make more sales, and strengthen their brands.Links:→ Check out Carro: https://getcarro.com/→ Follow David on Twitter: https://twitter.com/dperry→ Books mentioned: The Lean Startup & The Element by Sir Ken Robinson→ Watch David's Ted Talk: https://www.ted.com/talks/david_perry_are_games_better_than_lifeSpecial Thanks To Our Sponsor, espresso Displays:Espresso Displays are the thinnest portable touch screen monitor in the world. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/elgordocircuito/message

Sony has purchased Gaikai, a cloud based gaming service allowing users to play PC and console games via the cloud. Giedrius Daujotas, toys and games industry analyst at Euromonitor, believes Sony will take advantage of Gaikai by putting it to use via the Playstation console, allowing gamers to download trial versions of certain video games. Other applications include television hardware, where Gaikai could provide streaming content directly to a television set.

The end of an era! Sorta! We're moving to IGN offices next week, so this is the last episode in the "1UP Admiral's Club." In it, we talk about gaming's love of celebrations (specifically Sonic, Quake, and Bungie), Jeff Green's return to EA (via the rumored Popcap purchase), how Gaikai and Wal-Mart have a nifty demo system, Kinect ads and Halo Anniversary support, and the weird "celebrity" appearances in the Duke Nukem Forever multiplayer trailer. Plus, we chat about Shadows of the Damned and discuss a listener's query about the appropriateness of attacking NYC in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Finally, while there is no official sponsorship, you'll agree that this episode should have been endorsed by Cake Boss. Until the first podcast from the IGN office!
