Instagram Youtube TikTokBioRising from San Diego's ocean cliffs with a genre-bending sound, 3rd Borough is preparing to release their new single Blood Like Yours on September 25, 2025, ahead of their full-length album The Human Quest. Backed by a Halloween-themed documentary and vampire-inspired visuals, the track positions the band at the crossroads of indie pop rock, hip-hop grit, and cinematic storytelling.First conceived in 2015, Blood Like Yours began as a late-night idea between band founders Justin Werner and Apaulo8 (Paul Kipling). “This song was actually written back in 2015. Paul was living down in Imperial Beach, and I was in Claremont. We decided to create a Halloween-themed trilogy. The first song we came up with was ‘Blood Like Yours,'” says Werner. The process was fast and instinctive: “The song pretty much wrote itself in about 45 minutes,” he recalls.Originally born from electronic beats and a minimalist setup, the track has since transformed into a full-band performance. “Over time, it evolved into this indie pop rock sound,” Werner explains. Each member of 3rd Borough adds their own layers: Mark Boyce brings blues and gospel textures, bassist Ibo Rodriguez contributes a broad perspective shaped by formal training in Puerto Rico, Apaulo8 infuses hip-hop and rap elements, guitarist Dono Fox (Donovan) delivers technical precision, and drummer Arkhota (Argel Cota) provides versatile rhythms. “It's a melting pot of influences that make the sound unique,” Werner notes. For Apaulo8, the track's impact lies in its balance. “Music for us is about yin and yang. We want positive messages, but we also embrace darkness. That balance lets us create something edgy yet lighthearted. For Blood Like Yours, we drew inspiration from The Lost Boys movie—something fun but haunting, appealing to kids and adults alike.”The single also comes to life visually with a vampire-themed music video and a Halloween documentary. “It covers the whole process: how we created the music video, interviews with band members, the making of the album, and behind-the-scenes footage,” Apaulo8 explains. For Werner, revisiting vampire mythology was a chance to refresh a timeless archetype. “Vampires have been portrayed as romantic, monstrous, murderous—it's evolved. With Blood Like Yours, we leaned toward a romantic take. It's basically a love song in a Halloween costume.”Though the single may stand out as a seasonal anthem, the band stresses that their forthcoming album, The Human Quest, goes much further. “The Human Quest is about the ups and downs of being human. Blood Like Yours stood out—it felt powerful, like a hit, so we pushed it as a single. The album itself spans many genres because some songs were written 10 to 15 years ago,” Apaulo8 shares. Werner adds, “We believe in divine timing. Unlike bands that write 50 songs and pick 12, we wrote around 20 and chose the best by intuition.”For Apaulo8, the most rewarding moment comes with “the final product, after all the revisions, when everyone is happy and we hear that polished version.” Werner's favorite part is the connection with listeners: “For me, it's when someone hears the finished song for the first time and appreciates it. That's why we do this, because music can inspire others.”With The Human Quest on the horizon, 3rd Borough hopes listeners find both individuality and unity in their music. “We want it to be personal, yet unifying,” says Werner. “Everyone feels something different, but we all move to the same rhythm. That's the beauty of music.”About 3rd BoroughFrom San Diego's moonlit cliffs, 3rd Borough creates a powerful blend of indie pop rock and hip-hop's raw energy. Founded in Ocean Beach, the six-member collective—Justin Werner, Apaulo8 (Paul Kipling), Ibo Rodriguez, Mark Boyce, Arkhota (Argel Cota), and Dono Fox (Donovan)—weaves anthems of longing and rebellion. Their sound fuses soaring melodies with gritty beats, shaped by a wide spectrum of influences. Their upcoming single, Blood Like Yours(September 25, 2025), leads into their full album The Human Quest and a Halloween 2025 documentary. A nocturnal tribe with sharp lyrics and haunting melodies, 3rd Borough invites listeners worldwide to join their journey across all major streaming platforms.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/creator-to-creators-with-meosha-bean--4460322/support.

Show Notes: https://wetflyswing.com/822 Presented By: Pescador on the Fly Sponsors: https://wetflyswing.com/sponsors From shoulder surgery rehab to 10 guiding seasons across Rock Creek, the Blackfoot, and the Big Hole, Montana guide and photographer Drew Baker shares how he turned days on the oars into a career behind the lens. In this episode, Drew shows why the best Montana fly fishing photography tips aren't about megapixels—they're about telling a real story on the water. You'll learn how to capture authentic moments (not just grip-and-grins), build a simple kit that travels well, and plan your shots so you protect fish and still come home with wall-worthy images. We also dig into summer strategy across Montana, when to pivot rivers, and the underrated power of the point-and-shoot in your waders. Show Notes with Drew Baker on Fly Fishing Photography 02:57 - Drew shared how photography became his focus, noting that breaking into the hunting industry was easier than fly fishing since many fishing content creators were established early, but his passion for photos began with fly fishing. 04:30 - He recounted how rehabbing a shoulder surgery in college led him to daily fly fishing, on the advice of his physical therapist, which eventually turned into guiding in 2015. 06:08 - Drew explained that Philipsburg, Montana offers access within 90 minutes to major rivers like the Bitterroot, Blackfoot, Clark Fork, Big Hole, and Beaverhead, giving guides flexibility depending on flows and client lodging. 07:19 - He described guiding on the upper 14 miles of Rock Creek, where outfitters without Forest Service permits are restricted, and how this stretch provides prime opportunities close to town. 09:11 - Drew talked about his collaboration with Jeff from Pescador on the Fly, capturing lifestyle product photography and storytelling video while fishing on the Missouri. 10:28 - He discussed filming Happy Hustle masterminds, where entrepreneurs combine survival skills, fishing, and camping with business problem-solving, which has shaped how he organizes his own guiding and photography business. 14;21 - Drew explained that while phones can work for casual anglers, carrying a small point-and-shoot camera can inspire more creativity and story-driven photos. 16:19 - He detailed his pro setup: two Sony bodies, one wide-angle lens for scenery and one telephoto for wildlife or tight fishing shots, since swapping lenses mid-float risks water damage. 18:12 - On the Pescador shoot, Drew used his Sony A7 IV, a wide and tight lens, a DJI Pocket 3 gimbal camera for stabilized boat footage, and a drone to capture varied perspectives. 19:58 - He described how gimbals stabilize video, eliminating distracting shake, and why the DJI Pocket 3 has become a game-changer for filming on water. 22:03 - Drew highlighted the DJI Pocket 3's “creator combo,” which includes a wireless mic with 10-bit float audio, ensuring clear sound even in high wind conditions. 24:31 - He emphasized must-have accessories like a circular polarizer filter to cut water glare, an air puffer to clear droplets before wiping a lens, and a waterproof camera bag to safely store gear but keep it accessible. 26:46 - Drew encouraged anglers to document the whole story of a day-sunrise, fly selection, facial expressions, net shots, and release rather than just grip-and-grin photos. 31:22- When asked whether photography or video tells a better story, Drew chose photography, explaining that a single strong image can convey a complete narrative. One Battle After Another, is what I should rename this podcast, because the movie was that good, and a full review is inside. Plus Xbox takes another self imposed L, Sony gives itself a gold medal, and EA goes private. The Simpsons are headed back to the big screen, and an AI "actress" has Hollywood in a fervor. Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesIt appears as though Marvel Studios much speculated film that was slated to release between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars in July 2027, won't be happening after all; or at least not that July, as Disney has replaced the untitled project with a sequel to The Simpsons Movie dated for July 23, 2027. The move comes as a surprise to many Marvel fans who anticipated a possible Doctor Strange or Shang-Chi sequel to take place between the Avengers tentpoles but is in keeping with what Bob Iger and Kevin Feige have promised about a slowdown in production. Elsewhere, with Marvel Zombies premiering on Disney Plus last week, Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum teased a possible season 2, but emphasized that would be contingent on viewership and new Disney Plus subscriptions. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Olsen took the opportunity to share that although she recorded lines for the series, she doesn't remember anything about the show or plot. It was a huge week for trailers from a bevy of our favorite franchises, so lets run them down with another good old fashioned Trailer Park:Insomniac and Sony released the first gameplay trailer for Marvel's Wolverine on the PS5, which will release in fall of 2026.Lucasfilm unveiled a new trailer for Star Wars; Visions Volume 3 which also announced the cast that includes Anna Sawai, Freddie Highmore, George Takei, Harvey Guillén, Jodie Turner-Smith, Judith Light, Simu Liu, Stephanie Hsu, and Steve Buscemi. The final trailer for Jon M. Chu's Wicked: For Good released last Wednesday morning to much acclaim. And finally, a new trailer for 20th Century's Avatar: Fire and Ash teased more of the villainous faction and stakes.Director Denis Villeneuve shed new light on his upcoming version of 007 for Amazon/MGM; sharing that the casting process will begin next year after he's completed production on Dune: Part Three for Warner Bros and that he is looking to cast a “relatively unknown” “fresh face” actor in their 20s or 30s. Additional criteria the filmmaker included is that the performer must hail from the British Isles and be male, as well as his desire to capture what Fleming called “a blunt instrument” — the lethal but “extremely dull, uninteresting man to whom things happened.” If Villeneuve and team stay true to these parameters, it potentially rules out many fan-casted favorites and seems to be in more alignment with the Broccoli family's traditions with the character than expected with new creatives in control.Mark Ronson is slated to reunite with Greta Gerwig to score her Chronicles of Narnia adaptation at Netflix. The announcement sparked major backlash from real actors, with critiques about replacing human talent, the ethics of compositing real faces, and calls to boycott agencies that represent AI personas.
What if your family's greatest stories could live on like a Netflix documentary? In this episode of The Richer Geek, today we are joined by filmmaker and storyteller Chance McClain, founder of Heritage Films. With over 800 documentaries produced, Chance has made it his mission to capture family histories, founders' journeys, and life legacies in cinematic style. From Army veteran to Broadway musicals to award-nominated filmmaking, Chance shares how storytelling preserves values across generations and why every story, big or small, matters. In this episode, we chat about… How Chance transitioned from Army service and radio to founding Heritage Films. The story behind the very first Heritage Film and how it sparked a movement in legacy storytelling. Why businesses and family farms are “characters” in founder films. Surprising, real-life stories captured on film from WWII heroes to architects with secret pasts. The evolution of filmmaking technology, from VHS tapes to drones and iPhones. The emotional impact of preserving legacies and how families actually use and rewatch these films. Why talking to older generations unlocks wisdom, humor, and life lessons we often overlook. Key Takeaways: Everyone has a story worth telling: whether you're a founder, veteran, or grandparent, your life holds lessons for future generations. Technology makes legacy preservation possible: from high-end Sony cameras to simple iPhones, storytelling tools are more accessible than ever. Hard work, grit, and values outlast success stories: the true legacy isn't just the narrative, it's the wisdom passed down. Stories change how we see people we thought we knew: a “regular” grandparent may have lived an extraordinary life. Businesses and land carry their own legacies: a company or farm often becomes a living character in family films. Connection matters more than production: while high-quality films are stunning, the heart lies in authentic conversations and memories preserved. What is the state of the gaming industry going in to Holiday 2025? Shockingly fragile. There is only one major third party publisher left in the US. Microsoft is backing away from hardware. Sony is facing down stagnation. And then there's Nintendo. Who's mostly fine. They aren't happy about tariffs, but for the most part they are weathering this storm exceedingly well? Why is that? Let's get into the State of Games!

Josh and Deb are back with Cobweb and Cantu for a wild ride of horror talk and laughs. We kick things off with a quick dive into the latest Conjuring film before turning our attention to the Sony movie Until Dawn. Of course, things can't stay too serious for long—especially when Cobweb becomes the target of some good-natured ribbing (pun intended) about “erroneous rib tips” and “burnt ends.”
The "f" stands for "I tell ya what." This week, join us for an introduction to Silent Hill f, a new installment in Konami's long-running franchise with a melee-based twist. A dark tale taking place in 1960s Japan is just getting started. We've also got some more thoughts on our continuing Borderlands 4 journey, now complete with frame rate fixes and field-of-view updates. And somehow still a broken inventory system. That's not all, though, as Sony dropped a massive State of Play with new looks at Wolverine, Saros, a remaster of Dynasty Warriors 3, a huge update for Gran Turismo 7, and a whole lot more. The "where are the games?!" crowd is having a bad week, because PlayStation's most recent State of Play showed that plenty is indeed incoming for your PS5. For starters, Insomniac's long-dormant Wolverine has reemerged. Revealed four years ago and having clearly gone through some tribulations behind-the-scenes, Wolverine is slated for PlayStation 5 next fall, and it looks violent and grisly in all the right ways. Coming sooner from first party, however, is Housemarque's Returnal sequel Saros, launching in March of '26. It looks awesome, and we're to get back to shootin'. But as if these two games didn't give us enough to talk about, there's more: Microsoft Flight Simulator is the next Xbox-aligned game PS5-bound (with Forza Horizon 6 somewhere behind it), the original Deus Ex is getting the remaster treatment, a God of War DualSense has been revealed in recognition of the franchise's 20th anniversary, Kojima both revealed a Physint poster and showed off his new horror title OD, and much more. Then: Listener inquiries! What's going on with the PS5 Pro's many technical issues? Will NetEase's F2P game Ananta be as insane as it seems? Why do we have such a problem with the premise of licensed games? Is Boar's Head's fine deli meat becoming too expensive for the average consumer?

October's just about here, and that means we are struggling to stay afloat in a sea of virtual experiences. Marcus, Kyle, and Charles gathered together this week to discuss the big games they've been playing, and oh boy, there are a lot of them.We start off with Sucker Punch's Ghost of Yotei, followed by Hades 2, both of which seem to be frontrunners for this season's lineup of games. Silent Hill f has caused some consternation and evaluation, perhaps appealing to those drawn to rough edges, and/or creepy knife monsters. Baby Steps toes right in after them, and the show rounds out with Hotel Barcelona, a strange game from two well-known makers of strange games. The Game Informer Show is a weekly podcast covering the video game industry.
