Send us a textSelecting an ERP system for large enterprises—companies generating over $1 billion in revenue—is a complex and high-stakes decision shaped by their scale, operational intricacies, and global footprint. While the lower enterprise segment often faces budget constraints and slower business model evolution, the upper enterprise tier is far more dynamic, frequently undergoing structural shifts due to mergers and acquisitions. Given their presence across multiple countries, these organizations require ERP solutions with strong multi-entity support, compliance capabilities, and localization features to navigate regulatory frameworks like GDPR, e-invoicing mandates, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Unlike mid-sized businesses that may operate with a single ERP, large enterprises typically adopt a best-of-breed approach, integrating multiple specialized solutions to optimize financial and operational synergies across subsidiaries. In this episode, our host Sam Gupta discusses the top 10 Large Company ERP in 2025. He also discusses several variables that influence the rankings of these Large Company ERP Systems. Manufacturing is making a comeback in the U.S. Here’s how large companies are filling jobs.

Work In Progress

In this episode of the Work in Progress podcast, we begin a three-part series examining the manufacturing comeback in the United States, the resulting surge in job creation, and the types of skills workers need to get those jobs. In the series, we explore how the nation's employers are finding, training, and retraining the talent to fill as many as 3.8 million jobs over the next eight years. Manufacturers say they are already having trouble filling those jobs. Episode One of The Manufacturing Comeback focuses on how large employers are addressing the shortage of skilled talent. Building a Talent Pipeline I recently traveled to Minneapolis to attend The Manufacturing Institute's Workforce Summit 2025. There I spoke with Mark Rayfield, CEO of Saint-Gobain North America and CertainTeed, and with Paul Myles, senior manager of Government Workforce Development and Training Programs at Magna International. In the podcast, Rayfield and Myles discuss how while the demand for manufacturing jobs in America is surging, finding skilled talent to fill these roles is a growing challenge. Unlike manufacturing jobs of the past, these jobs are often tech-focused. That means manufacturing employers are competing with other industries that are also looking for a tech-skilled workforce. We discuss innovative recruitment methods, effective partnerships with educational institutions, and creating career pathways for people from all backgrounds. Behind the Manufacturing Resurgence The recent surge of manufacturing construction and hiring is being fueled by the infusion of federal funding through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act enacted in 2021, the CHIPS and Science Act enacted in 2022, and private funding. To better understand how the manufacturing comeback is reshaping the workforce, I speak with Gardner Carrick, chief program officer for The Manufacturing Institute, which is helping employers figure out how to build a strong talent pipeline. Also joining this part of the conversation is Yustina Saleh, managing director of Workforce Innovation for The Burning Glass Institute. Importantly, we look at the ebbs and flows of manufacturing hiring and how jobs have changed over the past several decades. We also examine why it has become more difficult to find workers interested in manufacturing careers, despite the fact that they are often good-paying jobs. You can listen to the entire conversation here, or wherever you get your podcasts. You can also find our podcasts on the Work in Progress YouTube channel. The Manufacturing Comeback This three-part podcast series is a robust conversation about an industry that is once again looking for workers. Next week, in Episode Two, we turn our attention to how smaller manufacturers are attempting to find and train new workers. This series is made possible through support from The Manufacturing Institute. As a nonprofit journalism organization, WorkingNation partners and collaborates with outside organizations to make possible our mission of telling stories about solutions to today's workforce issues. Send us a textAs organizations grow beyond the mid-market segment, typically surpassing 5,000 employees and approaching $1 billion in revenue, their CRM needs evolve dramatically. At this scale, a CRM system must handle more extensive workflows, complex team structures, and a higher volume of transactional processes. CRMs designed for smaller companies may fall short, either by complicating workflows or lacking essential capabilities. For large enterprises, a CRM must support a wide range of customer experience touchpoints—websites, email, SMS, and community-based interactions—while integrating field service, call centers, and service-centric workflows to ensure omnichannel visibility. Eliminating data silos and enabling seamless data collection becomes critical for strategic sales operations and territory planning. Advanced features like AI-driven tools are essential to manage large volumes of data, streamline territory management, and scale operations efficiently. Ultimately, selecting the right CRM is crucial for ensuring the organization can handle the complexity and scale of its customer-facing operations. In this episode, our host, Sam Gupta, discusses the top 10 Large Company CRMs in 2024. There's no shame in taking one good idea and reusing it. In continuing to improve and tweak it to get more juice for the squeeze. Especially when you're struggling to come up with something new. That's what J.R.R. Tolkien did in The Lord of the Rings. When asked for “more hobbits” by his publishers, Tolkien had to get crafty. Because he never meant for The Hobbit to have a sequel. That's one of the things we're talking about today with the Director of Content Marketing at Ahrefs, Ryan Law. With Ryan's help, we're chatting about the power of iteration, world-building around your product, and much more.About our guest, Ryan LawRyan Law is Director of Content Marketing at Ahrefs. He is a content marketer that's worked with both startups and enterprise companies, including Google, GoDaddy, Clearbit, ProfitWell and Hotjar. Before Ahrefs, Ryan was CMO at the remote content marketing agency Animalz where he generated over 2 million pageviews for the Animalz blog, and ran workshops with companies like Andreessen Horowitz, Writer, Drift, Clearscope, Wynter, and BrightonSEO. He has co-founded a marketing agency, freelanced as a marketing consultant and copywriter, reviewed beers, designed t-shirts and tended bar. He is also the author of two novels, the host of the Ash Tales podcast, an amateur landscape photographer, and the guitarist for The Schrödinger Effect. What B2B Companies Can Learn From Lord of the Rings:Iterate, iterate, iterate. When you have one good idea, continue to work on it, improve it and iterate on it. Ryan says, “Much like Tolkien, all the best ideas are kind of iterative evolutions of previous and frankly worse ideas as well. And you see that in Lord of the Rings, I think. I love The Hobbit to bits, but in some ways it does feel like the MVP of The Lord of the Rings. You know, there are decisions that he made in that narrative that weren't quite fleshed out and didn't quite make sense that he then changed a little bit in the full series of books.”Build a world bigger than your product. You're not just trying to make a sale. You're trying to immerse your audience in your brand and culture. Ryan says, “Some portion of every company's marketing effort should go into the world building that surrounds their brand. You know, creating things that further their beliefs and their ethos and creating opinions and ideas that are not sales assets, but are just plain interesting and share how they think about the world as well.”Quotes*“Tolkien does it without being really ham fisted with exposition. He doesn't laboriously explain the history of everything and how it all interacts. He teases at it and he hints at it and he reveals it through the dialogue of characters. I think that's deeply rewarding for the reader. You're not spoon fed this stuff, you make the connections yourself, you're brought along the journey and he gives you credit for discovering this huge mythos and history beneath it. And that's a wonderful thing to do, not assume the reader is an idiot, but just write the things you find interesting, let them find the secrets that they're going to find for themselves. It's so deeply rewarding.”*“Search demands that you basically write to the consensus. Like there is a set body of information it expects you to share, and it rewards companies that show consensus with other articles. And I think good thought leadership is in some ways the opposite of that. You are challenging truisms, you're talking about the things that no one else is talking about. So the thing I'm trying to do at the moment is, I think a more fruitful framework for thinking about that is talking about information gain. So if you're writing SEO content, you still have to cover the core topic, but you can think, ‘What new stuff can I add to that?' It's like an additive process. What new subject matter quotes or what new subtopics can we cover? What new research can we do? Cause it's very hard to reconcile those two from my experience.”*”Opinions are one of the most important things we're finding in content at the moment. A lot of people are very used to content marketing basically hedging bets. Nobody wants to say something very definitive. Mainly because content marketers, myself included, we're not experts in the things we're writing about. And we are, I think, wary of saying something that's wrong. And that generally leads to not saying anything at all. Being brave and willing to share a defensible opinion, that's something we're trying to do in all of our content, because it's a real differentiator and it's a good way of standing out when every other company is letting people make their own decision. Never make people think. Tell them what you're thinking yourself. ”Time Stamps[0:55] Meet Ryan Law, Director of Content Marketing at Ahrefs[4:34] Exploring Tolkien's Creative Process and Challenges[9:39] Content Creation Insights and B2B Marketing Takeaways[17:10] The Power of Storytelling and Building a Rich World[23:11] Human Connections and Their Impact on B2B Marketing[27:29] Exploring Book Titles and Author Insights[28:16] B2B Marketing Insights from Fantasy Literature[28:49] Long-Term Content Strategy and Its Impact[31:54] The Evolution of Content Marketing in Large Companies[33:42] The Importance of Serialized Content in B2B[44:12] Exploring the ROI of Creative Content Marketing[50:04] Final Thoughts on Marketing and CreativityLinksConnect with Ryan on LinkedInLearn more about AhrefsAbout Remarkable!Remarkable! is created by the team at Caspian Studios, the premier B2B Podcast-as-a-Service company. Software-enabled process evaluation mirrors resource planning, emphasizing meticulous capacity planning for smooth operations. The pivotal decision in cross-functional process throughput involves choosing between isolated and tightly integrated processes, considering factors like human resources interactions and reconciliation overhead. Varied implementation strategies emerge, with some favoring tightly integrated methods while others opt for slightly more best-of-breed approaches. Large enterprises face challenges such as evolving desired states and extended implementation horizons, treating ERP as the corporate financial ledger while allowing subsidiaries flexibility. In this week's episode of THE FINANCIAL COMMUTE, host Chris Galeski welcomes Wealth Advisor Bruce Tyson to discuss how the market has performed this past year, including bank failures, debt issues, government shutdowns, inflation, and interest rates.  They dissect the common belief that the average annual return of the stock market over the long-term is around 9-10%. The market experiences fluctuations, sometimes delivering very positive and negative returns. Therefore, investors should not expect a consistent 9-10% return year after year in the stock market and must maintain a long-term perspective. Bruce and Chris also go over historical investment returns, with small value stocks showing the most significant growth over nearly a century. A dollar that was invested in large-cap stocks 98 years ago would have grown to about $11,000 by now, while it would have grown to about $128,000 if invested in small-value stocks. Chris and Bruce encourage investors to properly diversify their portfolios and consider if they're exposed to these areas of the market. Additionally, they discuss the evolving investment landscape, particularly the rise of income-generating investments like fixed-income and private lending, due to changing interest rates.
