With the chase for AI obliterating affordability in computing-related markets, it should come as no surprise that Sony may be deliberating a delay for PlayStation 6's rollout and release. But recent commentary from a well-connected financial analyst suggests that PS6's purported delay may be more substantial than we thought, perhaps precipitated by more factors than we initially thought. When does the gaming world need the next PlayStation? Could we go potentially several more years on PS5 alone? We discuss. Plus: Chris has played Highguard extensively and has a lot to say, Rockstar may take our advice and forego physical copies of GTAVI at launch to avoid spoilers, Ubisoft unions are agitating for an international strike at the publisher's many offices, MLB: The Show 26 gets its cover athlete and a release date, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Are mini-maps useful or distracting? How do we feel about Final Fantasy VII Remake's new "Streamlined Progression" update? Is New Game+ functionality catering to an older, diminishing audience? Did Dustin enjoy his romantic California getaway with Brad? On this week's Game Deflators podcast episode, John and Ryan are back with a packed lineup of gaming chatter, industry hot takes, and a double dose of Highguard discourse. The episode kicks off with fresh gaming updates as the guys break down what they've been playing, what's caught their attention. From there, they dive into Highguard's rocky reception, comparing its early reviews to other notoriously low‑rated titles. Is the criticism fair, or is this another case of the internet dog‑piling a new release? The conversation then shifts to censorship in gaming, with Nintendo's recent decision to censor Dispatch taking center stage. John and Ryan break down why this move feels out of step with the company's own history, especially considering similar or even more provocative titles that previously launched on Nintendo platforms without edits. They explore what might be driving this sudden change and whether it signals a new, less predictable approach to content approval going forward. Next, the duo speculates on Switch 2 pricing, weighing hardware rumors, and market trends. They also turn their attention to the future of PlayStation 6, discussing delays, shifting expectations, and what Sony needs to do to regain momentum. Finally, the guys return to Highguard for a full hero shooter review and critique, breaking down gameplay, design choices, and whether the title has the potential to grow—or if it's destined to fade fast. 00:00 Introduction to the Game Deflators Podcast 03:12 3D Printing Adventures and New Gear 06:03 Gaming Updates: Plucky Squire and Feedback 09:11 Voice Acting in Games: A Discussion 12:14 The Impact of AI in Gaming Voiceovers 15:12 Speedrunning and Community Dynamics 18:04 High Guard and Game Reception 21:10 Censorship in Gaming: Nintendo's Decisions 26:57 Nintendo's Innuendos and the Switch 2 Price Predictions 33:16 The Future of PlayStation: Delays and Expectations 44:08 Highguard: A Hero Shooter Review and Critique   Find us on TheGameDeflators.com Twitter - www.twitter.com/GameDeflators Facebook - www.facebook.com/TheGameDeflators Instagram - www.instagram.com/thegamedeflators   The views and opinions expressed on this channel are solely those of the author. A few months back I met John O'Leary at an event, after not knowing much about him before that. His humility, integrity, and wisdom shined through and quickly I recognized that that type of leadership and relationship honest come without a story ...and that story needed to be heard. John O'Leary's story began at nine years old, when a house fire left him burned on 100% of his body and given less than a 1% chance to live. Followed by years of hidden pain, stubborn hope, and a community that refused to let go. We sit with John to explore the heart behind Soul on Fire, the Sony film based on his life. If you've felt stretched thin as a new parent, lonely while building a business, or stuck in a season where yesterday feels better than tomorrow, this conversation offers practical hope. Stream Soul on Fire on Netflix or Amazon, then come back and tell us what moved you most. We start with reports claiming Grand Theft Auto 6 may not launch with a physical edition, as Take-Two and Rockstar allegedly consider a digital-only release to prevent leaks. We discuss what this could mean for collectors, retail, and GTA 6's already sky-high expectations. Next, we dig into new analyst predictions suggesting the PlayStation 6 may be delayed longer than expected, potentially extending the PS5 generation well into the next decade. We debate whether the PS5 still has untapped potential and what features the PS6 would actually need to feel like a true generational leap. We also cover reports that a PlayStation State of Play is locked in for February, what Sony might show, and whether titles like Marvel's Wolverine, Saros, and Marathon could appear. On the industry side, we break down Ubisoft worker unions calling for a global strike, following layoffs, studio closures, and a push to end remote work. We discuss what this says about the current state of the games industry. Plus, we react to the Microsoft Developer Direct, Xbox's declining revenue numbers, discourse surrounding new releases, Nintendo Switch censorship concerns, and a packed slate of Flash News, including MLB The Show 26, PS Plus February games, and more. We wrap up with Whatcha Been Playin'?, community questions, and plenty of classic Trophy Room discourse.

In this episode Mary Sullivan, co-founder of Sweet but Fearless, talks with Caroline Stokes, leadership strategist, Fifth Industrial Revolution, for a grounded conversation about intentional learning, emotional intelligence, and navigating change at work with clarity. They explore how emotional intelligence can quietly influence your career, both positively and negatively, especially during moments of uncertainty or transition. Caroline introduces the four common responses to workplace shifts: flight, freeze, fight, and fawn, and explains why understanding your default reaction is key to moving forward with intention instead of operating on autopilot. Once you know where you are, you can begin to choose a mindset that supports growth rather than stress or stagnation. The conversation also dives into thinking ahead in your career, learning with purpose, and handling disruption without losing momentum. Drawing from her books Elephants Before Unicorns and Aftershock, Caroline shares practical insights for leaders who want to respond thoughtfully to change instead of reacting out of fear. This episode is for anyone facing shifts at work and looking to lead themselves, and their careers, with greater awareness and intention. A Sony alum who contributed to the launch of PlayStation, and a PCC-level, EQ 2.0–certified coach, Caroline has evolved from executive headhunter to one of the few global authorities on psychological and strategic leadership reinvention.   ABOUT CAROLINE STOKES, CEC: Website - The Forward Co LinkedIn - Caroline Stokes, CEC Books:Elephants Before Unicorns: Emotionally Intellignet HR Strategies to Save Your Company Aftershock to 2030: A CEO's Guide to Reinvention in the Age of AI, Climate, and Societal Collapse   ABOUT SWEET BUT FEARLESS: Website - Sweet but Fearless LinkedIn - Sweet but Fearless

Everyone watched Trump at Davos and thought they were seeing American power. We think they were seeing something else: a flashing warning light. The core idea of this podcast is simple: diversification is the oldest rule in investing, and the world has ignored it. We've funnelled a staggering share of global capital into the United States, treating U.S. markets and Treasuries like the default “safe” option. But now, with Trump openly threatening tariffs on anyone who dares to sell U.S. assets, the message is out in the open: America knows capital flight is the real threat. We start with an origin story, Henry Lowenfeld, the overlooked pioneer of diversification, and use it to decode what's happening now: a long-overdue global rebalancing. Then we're joined by financial strategist Sony Kapoor, who makes the case that U.S. assets are increasingly being priced not as a safe haven, but as a political risk, and that a weaker dollar, new hedging demand, and a search for opportunity outside America could reshape markets for a generation. But underneath the headline number, core profits held up, cash flowed in North America, and GM is signaling confidence that 2026 will be stronger.GM reported a $3.3B Q4 net loss after booking more than $7B in charges, largely tied to cutting back EV production and restructuring its China joint venture.Adjusted EBIT rose 13% in the quarter, and GM earned $10.5B in North America for the year, resulting in profit-sharing bonuses up to $10,500 for UAW workers.EV losses are projected to improve by $1B–$1.5B in 2026CEO Mary Barra told shareholders the company sees stability ahead: “We expect the U.S. new vehicle market will continue to be resilient… 2026 should be an even better year for GM.”From EV chargers to infotainment systems, the Pwn2Own Automotive 2025 competition exposed how much of the industry is still very hackable.Hackers earned $886,250 uncovering nearly 50 zero-day vulnerabilities in EV chargers, infotainment systems, and automotive softwareInfotainment systems from Kenwood, Sony, and Alpine were successfully exploited, along with chargers from ChargePoint, Autel, Ubiquiti, Phoenix Contact, WolfBox, and Tesla.Tesla Wall Connectors alone accounted for more than $140,000 in payouts, while the overall winning team, Summoning Team, took home $222,250.Notably, no one attempted to hack a Tesla vehicle, despite a car and large cash prizes on the table. If 2025 felt like a rough year to fly, you're not wrong.      The Ubisoft that we knew is dead. In its place, a new structure has emerged, a federalized series of five "Creative Houses," each with its own studios, IP, revenue flow, and responsibilities. Ultimately, it's the new Ubisoft's way of giving their employees all the leeway they need to make great stuff. But then again, you know what they say about getting too much rope. Will the once-great French publisher survive and thrive again? One thing's for sure: The old way of doing things has long been a nonstarter. Other news this week includes a March 5th release date for Marathon, the spinning-off of Sony's TV business, more Xbox games en route to PS5, cumulative 2025 software sales data for the American market, and more. We then end things -- as we always do -- with six listener inquiries from our beloved audience. When should we expect word on Persona 6? Will we replay Returnal in preparation for Saros? I left because the identity no longer fit.In this first entry of Diary of a Creator, I'm sharing the real story behind becoming an “corp girly” — the part no one warns you about once the title, paycheck, and structure disappear. From my first jobs at 16 (babysitting, Popeyes — yes, red beans and rice trauma included), to working through undergrad and grad school, winning Rookie of the Year at a credit union, trading with 3000%+ ROI, being selected for The Apprentice final 50, consulting with brands like NBC, Victoria's Secret, Sony, Best Buy, and Shania Twain — I've lived what feels like 10,000 lives in one.And yet…Even while helping brands create consistent 6–8 figure results, my own money, worth, and identity were a mess. This episode is about:• The fear that shows up after you leave corporate• Why nothing in your story is wasted• Faith as action — (Faith without works is dead)• Identity loss, stewardship, and becoming a creator in real lifeThis isn't a “quit your job” episode. It's an honest look at what happens when you stop being who you were trained to be — and start becoming who you're created to be.https://bit.ly/createitlikeaboss

On this week's show we look at Smart TV OS rankings according to BGR.com and we ask the question if there will ever be a show like Seinfeld again. We also read your email and take a look at the week's news. News: Sony and TCL Are Teaming Up to Make TVs Paramount+ - THE PRICE OF YOUR PLAN IS CHANGING Broadcast Remains the Most Powerful Platform for Reaching NFL Audiences SVS 3000 R|Evolution Series Smart TV OS Rankings The article Every Major Smart TV OS Ranked Worst To Best Based On User Reviews ranks eight major smart TV operating systems based on user reviews and comments from sources like Best Buy, Reddit, and cross-referenced with expert sites like RTINGS. The focus is on real user experiences regarding performance, app availability, bugs, ads, usability, and overall satisfaction — emphasizing that the OS heavily impacts whether a TV feels premium or frustrating. Ranking (from worst #8 to best #1): 8. VIDAA (used on Hisense TVs): Simple and snappy for basics like Netflix/YouTube, but severely limited app library (missing Stremio, Spotify, major music apps); no Android app support; frequent freezes especially on larger screens (>40 inches); users call it "horrible" and feel like a "dumb" TV. 7. VIZIO OS (formerly SmartCast): Great hardware/value (e.g., affordable 120Hz gaming TVs), but plagued by instability, bugs, frequent problematic updates, ad-pushing, and odd behaviors; many users recommend external streaming sticks over built-in OS. 6. Samsung Tizen: Fast and smooth on high-end models (e.g., S95D OLED), but laggy/slow on older/lower-end sets (button delays of seconds, freezes); heavy ads and unwanted TV Plus channels; users describe UI/Smart Hub as "extremely laggy" and "awful." 5. Fire OS (Amazon Fire TVs): Solid Alexa integration and budget appeal, but very ad-heavy (Prime Video promotions dominate); sluggish performance (1-2 second app launch delays); shifting toward new Vega OS (Linux-based, no sideloading). 4. Google TV: Strong content aggregation, smart home features (Google Gemini), intuitive when hardware is good (excellent on Sony models); can feel cluttered for casual users; performance varies greatly by TV brand/hardware (flawless on premium, weaker on budget). 3. Roku OS: Highly reliable, straightforward, and user-friendly (great for non-tech users); minimal ads/recommendations; rock-solid stability (compared to a "Toyota Camry"); dated/basic interface is the main downside. 2. LG webOS: Smooth, colorful, and easy navigation (Magic Remote point-and-click shines); supports Apple HomeKit/AirPlay 2/Chromecast; kind to non-tech-savvy users; praised for looking premium; downside is increasing home screen bloat/ads/full-screen menus (since 2024) plus screensaver ads. 1. Apple tvOS (via Apple TV device, not built into TVs): Near-perfect — zero lag, no ads, ultra-fluid 4K UI; standout features like InSight (real-time show info), automatic subtitles, Enhance Dialogue (AI vocal clarity); users rave about "super fast responsiveness" and call it underrated; main caveat is needing a separate (pricey) Apple TV box/streamer There Will Never Be a New 'Seinfeld We found a Wall Street Journal opinion piece titled "There Will Never Be a New 'Seinfeld'" which argues that a cultural phenomenon like Seinfeld cannot emerge again in the current media landscape. The show was massively popular and broadly talked about around the "water-cooler" the day after it aired nationally on NBC. The author (Mary Julia Koch) opens with a personal anecdote about young women at a dinner party casually mentioning shows they've watched that others haven't heard of, highlighting how fragmented viewing habits have become due to the explosion of streaming platforms and content choices. The central thesis is that the conditions that made Seinfeld a universal hit in the 1990s are gone forever: Media fragmentation — In the broadcast TV era, there were only a handful of channels, so millions watched the same shows at the same time, creating shared cultural references and conversations. Today, with countless streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, Max, etc.), on-demand viewing, and niche content, audiences are siloed and rarely overlap on the same program. Shift from mass appointment viewing to individualized consumption — No single show can achieve the same cultural penetration or "event" status when people watch on their own schedules and devices. Loss of common cultural touchstones — This makes it impossible for a new sitcom to become the kind of generational, quotable, everyone-knows-it phenomenon that Seinfeld was. Think about the movies and TV shows we watched in the 80s. We all watched the same stuff. It was either in the theater or on TV. So if I quoted Caddy Shack, all my friends knew what I was talking about and laughed. The piece laments that while there are still great comedies and talented creators, none will replicate Seinfeld's unique role in society because the technological and viewing ecosystem has permanently changed. This isn't about declining quality in comedy but about structural shifts in how media is produced, distributed, and consumed. Because of how we consume content, there simply won't be "a new Seinfeld"—the era of such singular, unifying pop-culture hits is over.

This Wednesday episode was recorded early on Tuesday due to Keegan Bradley Bobblehead Night at Madison Square Garden demanding PJ's attendance. Andy and Brendan wonder what other St. John's legends have bobbleheads available, but PJ is most excited to see a Boston sports icon get honored at the World's Most Famous Arena. With a lack of press conference quotes from Palm Springs to discuss, Brendan immediately begins with the Schedule for the Week, beginning with the American Express. This event has a loaded field with many top players beginning their seasons including World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. Andy believes that the Signature Event model has actually enhanced the non-Signature Events as more top-tier players are in need of FedEx Cup points. One-and-done picks are made as Brendan looks to stay hot off a runner-up finish at the Sony. Andy debuts a new segment, "5 Guys to Watch (For Reasons)" and highlights some players to keep an eye on this week. Attention then turns to the Dubai Desert Classic where European Ryder Cup stars will compete this weekend. After discussing some notables for this event, the two continue on and chat through this week's KFT stop at The Abaco Club and the return of the Champions Tour at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship. In news, NCAA Individual Champion Michael La Sasso has signed with the HyFlyers for the 2026 season. Andy and Brendan debate whether yet another young player taking a contract from LIV is the proper way to go vs. playing through a college season and trying to qualify through PGA Tour U. WTGL has also announced some of its initial rosters... including a retired Lexi Thompson. Finally, there's rumblings that the proposed rollback will no longer be going into effect in 2028, as the USGA and R&A are discussing a delay until 2030.
