First and foremost, Stephanie Thompson is a brave mumma (and wife). Her long journey to becoming a mum is her greatest achievement. Her 'never-die' attitude and resilience to adversity was never going to let cancer or birth trauma stop her from being the 'best' mum she can be.With over 20 years experience in education and leadership, she knows how important advocacy is for making real change. After completing her degree in education, she worked in the classroom of public schools across Sydney for the next decade.Prior to the birth of her babies, she was an educational consultant, while also running a small tea business and competing in triathlons. Busy is what she does best.Stephanie lives with her loving husband, two little people and fat cat on the south coast of NSW. She isn't able to be a teacher, a triathlete or tea business owner anymore. The trauma from giving birth has left her body broken. But, of course that's not the end of the story...After looking in all the wrong places for resolve, she discovered writing and her voice. She is now helping to make way for change in this women's health literacy space.Stephanie created the Bravemumma community and is working hard to advocate for better education, connection and care for women's pelvic health. Her aim is to ensure women can feel empowered to make informed decisions about their pelvic health.Find Stephanie onFacebookInstagram YouTubeWebsite *******************I recommend checking out my comprehensive pelvic health education and fitness programs on my Buff Muff AppYou can also join my next 28 Day Buff Muff Challenge https://www.vaginacoach.com/buffmuffIf you are feeling social you can connect with me… On Facebook https://www.facebook.com/VagCoachOn Instagram https://www.instagram.com/vaginacoach/On Twitter https://twitter.com/VaginaCoachOn The Web www.vaginacoach.com

Do you have a story about a struggle you have overcome that you want to share with others to help those facing the same challenge? Does non-fiction writing appeal to you as a way to get your story heard? Stephanie Thompson is a mum from Australia who sustained a pelvic organ prolapse injury during childbirth that prevented her from going back to a job she loved. After trying to live with the condition for three years, she finally got so frustrated she decided to write a book about it. That book marked the beginning of Stephanie's role as a women's pelvic health advocate, a role which has seen her helping thousands of women learn how live again with prolapse. In today's episode, Stephanie breaks down how a professed "non-writer" not only produced a successful non-fiction book, but also leveraged it into an array of digital community spaces, including a podcast and Facebook group. Season three is not over by any means but is taking a break. Today I asked each guest when I say let your yes be your success and give God the rest, what does that mean to you, and how does that play out in your life. I hope you enjoy today and think to yourself, what does let my yes be my success and then give God the rest. What does that look like in my own life? How would I answer this question if Candice asked me? If you would like to share your response, I would love for you to email me at info@hooks2crook.com. Is it time to ban unhealthy drinks from schools? The government wants feedback on a plan to outlaw fizz and all other sugary drinks from primary schools, meaning water, milk and non-dairy alternatives will be the only things kids can swig back on site. It says dental decay is now the most common disease reported in our children and a quarter of their sugar intake is from sweetened beverages. And you can add to that growing rates of obesity. Beach Haven Primary has already made the switch. Principal Stephanie Thompson talks to Lisa Owen.

Stephanie Thompson is a registered kinesiologist and owner of Empowered Performance in Markham, ON. In January 2021, she was one of five recipients of a Gender Equity Award grant from Curling Canada. Her plan was to create a "virtual group fitness program for young girls, focusing on reducing curling-related injuries." In this episode, we update her grant idea, talk about the mission of her business and spend time talking about my favourite topic: Little Rocks and what to do for warmup and (maybe) cooldown. She even invents a new curling term! Some of the topics we discuss include:Where did the idea of a virtual fitness program for young women come from? (1:30)1/3 of girls drop out of sport by late adolescence (2:53)Why fitness equipment is being sent to teams inside the Calgary bubble! (5:36)The topics covered in her virtual fitness program (9:54)Young females need upper body strength (11:11)Men typically have heavier weights than women (13:03)The main goal of Empowered Performance (21:00)Do we need a warmup and cooldown when working with U12s? (23:32)Warmup ideas for Little Rocks (26:24)Do we need a cooldown for young kids? If yes, then what? (29:34)The new term Stephanie invented (33:02)It's okay if you're doing less activity/training during these pandemic times! The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), the Council for State Governments (CSG), and the National Governor’s Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center) partnered with CLEAR on a comprehensive resource covering regulatory structures in use in the United States. The State Regulatory Structures report is informed by a survey conducted by CLEAR asking respondents to indicate which of five regulatory model(s) best represented their current regulatory organization. Results from 46 jurisdictions have been documented based on several different factors, including number of models in place within the jurisdiction, responsibility for decision-making authority, and responsibility for operational functions. In this podcast episode, Suzanne Hultin and Iris Hentze with NCSL talk about the larger Occupational Licensing Consortium Project and the impetus for the regulatory structures report. Stephanie Thompson with CLEAR shares some highlights of data from the report. Stephanie Thompson is an athletic trainer in the high school setting. Stephanie has a unique working relationship with the athletic director she works with, in that she ran track with their daughter. Adding another wrinkle into an already complex relationship between athletic trainers and coaches, can make things interesting. In this episode we talk with Stephanie about best practices in setting up working relationships with coaches. These can be complex and there are a lot of factors that play in, both real and perceived. It is important to establish working with coaches and not necessarily for them. Stephanie also has a lot of unique insights that she has picked up along the way in her career that have been useful to set boundaries and maintain a good working environment. www.athletictrainingchat.com www.cliniallypressed.com SUBSCRIBE:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc3WyCs2lmnKK6shrL5A4hw?sub_confirmation=1 #ATchat #ATC #atimpact #at4all #boc #bocatc #athletictraining #athletictrainingchat #health #medicine #medical #medicalprofessional #professional #LAT #ATSarehealthcare #builtinsport #muellerready #complicatedsimple #services #atservices #attwitter #workingrelationship #coaches #withvsfor #work #working

She has learned some things the hard way like she cannot burn the candle at both ends without paying the price, she cannot control everything and have everything perfect, because others are entitled to have their own thoughts, beliefs and priorities too. There have been so many lessons, too many to mention here. However, she can say she has learned that resilience in this day and age is essential. Fortunately, she came through it all smiling, with a can-do attitude and loving life. Through her passion for self-development, she learned how to manage her energy, her thoughts, her emotions and her beliefs to totally transform her approach to life. Through her studies, she has become one of Tony Robbins Senior Leaders and she is also one of the first 31 Energy Alignment Method (EAM) certificated Mentors in the world, that can use EAM within her business. She has put all her learnings into practice resulting in the voice inside her head now being quiet. She works with female coaches who are ready to make changes by showing up, stepping out of their comfort zone, committing to transform themselves and to making “it” happen. This is so they can achieve their dreams; to live a life they love and realise their full potential. She focuses on working with new coaches that are starting their business and share steps on how to get them attracting clients into their new business or new programmes. On today's episode, I'll be speaking with this incredible mama, Stephanie Thompson. This past October at our Women's 1-Day Conference, I asked some women to immerse themselves in the story of a woman from the Gospels who encountered Jesus and share what they learned. Stephanie chose the woman with 2 coins. It's a more obscure story, but one that has changed her perspective profoundly. Ladies, what ache in your heart have you spent days, months, or years crying out to Jesus about? Stephanie wants to tell you how the Good Father loves you deeply, restores & redeems ALL things, & invites you to lay everything at His feet, expecting He will come through in miraculous ways. Because the women who attended shared how powerful all these messages were, I wanted to record them and share them with all of you.

Today on Feminine Roadmap we’ll be talking about strategies for overcoming grief with Stephanie Thompson. Stephanie learned about grief after she lost her 15 year old daughter suddenly to a rare infection, This journey of grief took her to depths she had never known and from those ashes she has risen to create an organization to honor her daughter called A Dancer’s Heart, a non-profit that provides scholarships, leadership and life skills for young ladies ages 12-22. After beginning and building A Dancer’s Heart, within 2 years she lost 2 more family members. What Stephanie gleaned from her grief is a treasure trove of wisdom that will help others who are not only navigating the complex road of grief but also those who are walking alongside those who are grieving. Stephanie is able to communicate with clarity and gentleness about this sensitive subject from a heart that desires people to overcome grief, not get stuck in the valleys that come with the territory. If you or a friend are currently experiencing grief at any level, please grab a cuppa something wonderful, sit in a cozy spot and be encouraged. www.feminineroadmap.com/episode124/
Stephanie Thompson still vividly remembers when her son Christopher, now 27 years old, received a diagnosis of Down syndrome. As a young woman and a first time mother, the diagnosis came as a shock. What she wishes her younger self knew? That it would be okay. Stephanie worked for eleven years in many different roles within the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati and has deep insights into when, where and how a diagnosis of Down syndrome is given to parents and how this can be handled better. Today, Stephanie is the Director of the National Down Syndrome Network (NDSAN), whose mission is to ensure that every child born with Down syndrome has the opportunity to grow up in a loving family. “My doctor told me that my baby would have Down Syndrome and then they brought up termination, so I came home and googled Down Syndrome and adoption and you were the first thing that came up..” the beginning of countless conversations Stephanie Thompson shares with expectant parents. A mother of a 27-year-old son with Down Syndrome herself, Stephanie has walked through those scary stages of the diagnosis process and now walks other parents through this journey. Knowing the uncertainty that accompanies most diagnoses, and the desire of many to parent a child with Down Syndrome, Stephanie created the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network. The NDSAN provides support, education, and counseling to parents expecting a baby with Down Syndrome. Most importantly, they provide options, including adoption. Mercedes and her family are among the many who have connected to their child through the NDSAN's free services. Thanks to Stephanie's counseling and guidance 6 years ago, Mercedes and her husband Andy became parents to Sunny. The first obstacle to managing PCOS is understanding the various symptoms and receiving a diagnosis. PCOS can come with a wide array of symptoms: Hair loss Acne, darkening of the skin, skin tags Pelvic pain, irregular periods Headaches, feelings of anxiety and depression Excess hair growth on the face Trouble sleeping Weight gain Infertility For more info check out this PCOS infographic. These symptoms can be caused by other conditions and everyone with PCOS experience the same symptoms, so it can be extremely difficult to get a diagnosis. The best thing for someone who’s exhibiting some of these symptoms is to talk to their doctor. The biggest challenge is, many people don’t ask because they don’t know what PCOS is. This is why awareness about PCOS is so crucial. September is PCOS Awareness Month, and to help spread awareness we have created a special three-part series featuring PCOS experts, health specialists, and a fertility patient who built her family despite her diagnosis. This episode features Dr. Stephanie Thompson, from IVFMD, who breaks down everything you need to know about PCOS, and Sasha Ottey, founder of PCOS Challenge, the National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association. Dr. Thompson will walk us through what PCOS is, what it means for fertility, and how to help women with PCOS build the family of their dreams. Sasha will share her personal experience with PCOS, how she was diagnosed, and how she started the PCOS Challenge. We’ll learn about PCOS Challenge’s mission, gain an understanding of how to contribute to PCOS Challenge, and hear about some exciting upcoming events like the Rise to the Challenge Gala. This episode is hosted by Julie Hunt, self-described “proud PCOS cyster, “and Manager of Business Development at Progyny.

On today's episode, I'll be speaking with two amazing mamas, Ali Murphy and Stephanie Thomposon. This Fall, our #Momlife group has been reading Shaunda Niequest's book Present Over Perfect and we've been talking about what it's like to care more about being present in our lives instead of looking like we're all perfect. I thought it would be super insightful to ask these everyday mamas what it looks like for them to try to be present with their kids, with their hubbies, and with their choices.

In 2010, Stephanie Thompson Harris lost her daughter, Imani, to a rare disease. Children are not supposed to die before their parents do, and when that happens it upends the natural order. Stephanie was left with many challenges. First, working through overwhelming grief that followed her daughter’ s death. She also had to go back to work, trying to figure out her career path forward. And she wanted to find a way to keep the memory of her child alive, which she has done with the non-profit, A Dancer’s Heart. Her journey was difficult, but along the way she learned life lessons that she wanted to share with other women who may also be facing challenges in their lives. We can all benefit from her wise words. Listen to her interview with Woman Around Town’s Editor Charlene Giannetti. For more information, go to the website for A Dancer’s Heart.

In this week’s episode of ‘How To Be…’ we take a look at how women feel about asking for help, and question the stigmas attached to speaking up. Host Tiffany Dunk, journalist and former Editor of Dolly magazine, speaks with PANDA community champion and mum of one, Ashleigh Allan, about her own experience with postnatal depression and seeking out support. Tiffany is also joined by corporate psychologist, Stephanie Thompson, to shed some light on why so many women have such an issue with that four-letter word… Happy listening!

How can we support and empower students to make change happen? How can we empower them to be change-makers who challenge and transform unjust systems? Well, we've gotta dislodge and disrupt the stories of oppression and victim-hood that are so prevalent. We've gotta review and re-frame the ways we talk about ourselves and our communities. We've gotta tell stories of persistence, positivity, hope, joy and achievement. It all starts with re-thinking our business as usual in schools. And on that count we've got quite a few tips and insights to share. Student voice is often spoken of within education circles. Often though it's voice with limitations or prescriptions, with adults ultimately making the decisions or limiting the amount of influence that students actually have. In this episode, we take a different route. We examine how one school in New Zealand moved from student voice to student agency. Here Maori students (for example) play an active and influential role in the life of the school. They lead training workshops with parents and carers, as well as general community consultations. They also participate as Student Ambassadors on interview panels for new teaching staff. We've also got the Lightning Round. Here Steph and I are challenged to Push The Edge on education issues in a quick and speedy manner. Welcome to the first EBNJC podcast, this month’s topic is Adult Nursing. Dr Helen Noble, Associate Editor, Evidence Based Nursing, will be exploring a commentary from the journal written by invited guest Dr Stephanie Thompson, from the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta, Canada. The podcast discussions are intended to help you think about matters raised in the commentary, as well as the clinical applicability of the original research paper.Dr Thompson will discuss her commentary which critiqued a cross-sectional observational study aimed at examining sleep quality in chronic haemodialyzed patients in relation to morning-shift dialysis. She stresses that assessment of sleep quality, with attention to disease and treatment-related factors should be incorporated into the routine care of haemodialysis patients. Importantly Dr Thompson draws on her own experiences and reflects on the relevance of the study to practice and policy.Read the full commentary:ebnurs-2013-101673 - People receiving dialysis in the morning have better subjective sleep quality than those who receive dialysis at other times http://goo.gl/JqmP8iAnd the original research article: Better sleep quality in chronic haemodialyzed patients is associated with morning-shift dialysis: a cross-sectional observational study http://goo.gl/4yM8R2
