Would you rather ... stay home and read old children's books, or go to Africa and face the realities of abject poverty? One might say they both have their pros and cons. In this What's Brewing episode cross-post from Ministry for Dummies, hosts Jacob Ross and Humberto Tinsman talk about what they've been doing between episodes. Most of their conversation focuses on the lessons Jacob learned during his work trip to Kenya. It sounds like it's not a trip for the faint of heart. Listen to more episodes of Ministry for Dummies. Working with young adults who are navigating ADHD is rarely straightforward. They're often dealing with more than just distractibility or missed deadlines. There's anxiety, identity shifts, life transitions, and sometimes a long history of feeling misunderstood. This isn't about checking boxes on a symptom list, it's about understanding how their brain, their environment, and their story all interact. Today, we're going to unpack that. Which way are American young adults going when it comes to religion? Pew Research Center's Religious Landscape Survey reports that only 45% of Americans 18–29 years old identify as Christians, compared to 54% of those aged 30–49, 72% of 50–64, and 74% of 65+. Barna Group's State of the Church initiative reports that young adults are leading “a resurgence in church attendance.” Gen Z (born 1999–2015) and Millennials (born 1984–98) attend church 1.9 and 1.8 weekends a month, respectively. By contrast, Gen X (born 1965–83), Boomers (born 1946–64), and Elders (born pre-1946) attend 1.6, 1.4, and 1.4 weekends monthly, respectively. So are American young adults secularizing or experiencing a revival? It's impossible to say for sure. The only way for Christians to find out is to do the work of evangelism and discipleship. In this episode of the Influence Podcast, I talk to Josh Wellborn about ministry to the next generation of adults. I'm George P. Wood, executive editor of Influence magazine and your host. To claim the crown, Adelina, Seba, and Jasibin must learn to be a little wicked…even if it means betraying each other. All hail Malves, who shall wear crowns. On the night of her brother's murder, Adelina Malves holds him as he dies, inheriting both his title and the prophecy that spelled out his doom. If she's to avenge him and avoid a similar death, she must claim the crown of Jumaral by ruthlessly cutting down every family member ahead of her in the line of succession and uncover the secret that got her brother killed. Hail! Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none. Ghost-whispering Jasibin holds the key to Adelina's plan to contact her dead brother—if only his strange magic wasn't killing him slowly. To fulfill his own prophecy and protect his brother Seba, he must discover the source of his magic before he's lost to the land of the dead. All hail, Sebastião, that shall be king hereafter. Seba is desperate for a way out of Jumaral and the substantial financial debt his dead mother left him. When a witch sees the riches of a king in his future, Adelina's offer of coin in exchange for help feels like fate, pulling Seba into a fake dating plot with Adelina that hides their sinister plans. In this stunning, innovative retelling of Shakespeare's Macbeth set in a Portugal-inspired country, three teenagers will stop at nothing to fulfill their destinies. While it is often thought that adolescence begins and ends with puberty, new research shows that the development of cognitive skills, emotional development, and social skills that starts in the early teen years continues into the mid-twenties. In her new book 'Thrive,' Lisa Lawson, President and CEO of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, points out that failure to build on investments throughout this longer period of adolescence can result in missed mental and emotional growth, leaving young people less well equipped to lead independent, successful lives. Lisa joins EconoFact Chats to discuss her new book, and highlight how families, communities and public systems can support programs and policies that build strong, resilient young people.

As we continue our study in the Book Of Corinthians. In this passage, Paul rebukes the Corinthian church for their improper conduct during the Lord's Supper. Instead of promoting unity, their gatherings were marked by division, selfishness, and disregard for others—especially the poor. Some were eating and drinking excessively while others went hungry. Paul reminds them of the true meaning of the Lord's Supper: a remembrance of Jesus' body and blood given for them. He warns that taking communion in an unworthy manner brings judgment, which explains why some among them were weak or even had died. Paul urges self-examination, mutual consideration, and reverence when partaking in the Lord's Supper.

Getting a cancer diagnosis at any age is life changing. But when you're in your 20s or 30s, it can feel like hitting the pause button on life. That's how some young cancer survivors described it in this episode that originally ran earlier this year.Since the episode first aired, research has come out about cancer in young people. You can read Dylan Scott's reporting on the research here. This episode was produced by Victoria Chamberlin, edited by Amina Al-Sadi, fact-checked by Laura Bullard, engineered by Patrick Boyd and Andrea Kristinsdottir, and hosted by Sean Rameswaram. This week we're treated to the deep expertise, wisdom, and compassion of agent Regina Brooks. Regina has lots of experience shaping and selling memoirs to publishers. In this week's show, we talk about what makes a memoir saleable, but also about what Regina looks for when memoir projects cross her desk. We cover author platform, celebrity memoir, and advice for memoirists looking to get published. Regina even invites our listeners (when they're ready) to send her their proposals. A great and much-needed publishing interview, memoir-style. Also, in today's Book Trend Brooke and Grant take the space to apologize for a recent ad spot run on Memoir Nation that they did not and do not endorse. Regina Brooks is the founder and CEO of Serendipity Literary Agency in New York, the largest African American–owned agency in the US. She is the president of the Association of American Literary Agents (AALA) and coproducer of the People of Publishing Conference and a founding member of Literary Agents of Change (LAOC) and the Black Book Accelerator. Brooks is the author of Writing Great Books for Young Adults and You Should Really Write a Book: How to Write, Sell, and Market Your Memoir. Brooks is a copublisher with Open Lens, an imprint of Akashic Books. Brooks has been highlighted in The New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and elsewhere. When she's not agenting, she's gardening, fishing, and flying her own plane (always in a dress). Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Most resources around adoption focus on early childhood—when questions are simple and development is more predictable. But what happens when our kids become teens and young adults, and the questions grow deeper? In this episode, we sit down with Sherri Crandall, children's book author and VP of Global Ministries and Leadership Experience for The MomCo, Sherri opens up about her family's path to adoption and the evolving conversations she's having now with her daughter, Lexi, as she steps into adulthood. Together we explore: Why it's important to invite young adults to lead conversations about identity, heritage, and belonging How to honor each child's unique story, rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all narrative Practical ways to help adopted young people connect to their cultural roots If you're a parent, family member, or anyone who loves an adopted child, this episode is especially for you. Join us as we dive into what it really means to walk alongside someone through adoption during the teen and young adult years.
