Economy https://twitter.com/CynicalPublius/status/1938402609364082979 Europe's LNG Gamble Exposed By Middle East War The Israel-Iran conflict has driven up diesel, jet fuel, and gas prices. With 20% of global LNG flowing through the Strait of Hormuz, even threats of disruption have raised EU gas prices by 20%. Europe's refusal to sign long-term LNG deals or develop local hydrocarbon resources is backfiring. Oil and the security of its supply have stolen the media spotlight in the context of the new Middle East war, and with good reason. Ever since Israel first bombed Iran, diesel prices have soared, jet fuel prices have soared, and importers have been troubled. For Europe, the situation is even worse due to natural gas. Europe has been hurt more than others by the diesel price surge because it has boosted its imports considerably over the past years. About 20% of the diesel Europe consumes comes from imports, and a lot of these imports come from the Middle East. The situation is not much different in jet fuel. Europe depends on imports and a solid chunk of these imports comes from the Middle East. What's true of these essential fuels is doubly true of natural gas—even though direct imports of gas from the Middle East constitute a modest 10% of total imports. Yet they constitute a substantial portion of global gas exports, so any suggestion of disrupted supply affects gas prices in exactly the same way it has affected oil prices—and makes a vital commodity less affordable for Europeans. Europe needs to refill its gas storage caverns for next winter. Even if it cancels the 90% refill rate requirement, it still needs to buy a lot of gas, most of it on the spot market because of that aversion to long-term gas commitments it believes is part and parcel of the transition effort. And geopolitics has made LNG costlier—which will add billions to the refill bill. The same Democrats who turned a blind eye when Obama dropped 26,000 bombs in a single year are now clutching their pearls over Trump's targeted strike on Iran. Hanson breaks this down on today's episode of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.” “ Barack Obama, in the single year, 2016, he dropped 26,000 bombs. And it wasn't just in Syria. It wasn't just in Iraq. It wasn't just in Afghanistan. He dropped them in Libya. He dropped them in Somalia. He dropped them in Yemen. 26,000 bombs. And they all had one thing in common. He didn't think he had to go to the Congress to ask permission. “ All they're doing is saying, 'If Donald Trump does something, we are going to be irate. We're going to use pornography. We're going to use smuddy language. And we're going to oppose him. And now, we're going to impeach him.' And some people in that party said, 'This is so unhinged. It's so contradictory. It's so paradoxical. It's so hypocritical.'”

In today’s episode of The Rickey Smiley Morning Show Podcast, we kick things off with Grammy-winning R&B duo Brandy and Monica, who reveal their 1998 hit “The Boy Is Mine” was inspired by a dramatic episode of The Jerry Springer Show. The legendary song, which topped the Billboard charts for 13 weeks, was intentionally crafted to spark rumors, and the duo are now reuniting both on tour and in the studio. Then, Michelle Obama speaks out to quell divorce speculation, attributing their privacy to their age “we’re 60, y’all” and emphasizing that if any serious marital issue existed, she’d address it publicly. [00:30] The Biden Debate Debacle (32 minutes) A year ago today, Joe Biden sabotaged his own presidential run with one disastrous debate. The world has totally changed since last summer: Biden is forgotten, Barack Obama is completely powerless, and President Donald Trump is still riding the wave of his landslide victory. [32:25] WorldWatch (4 minutes) [36:00] King Trump (19 minutes) The love-hate relationship between President Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was on full display this week when Trump publicly and profanely berated the Israeli leader in front of the world.
This week, Walter and Jeremy discuss why China, Russia, and North Korea haven't come to Iran's aid, what Zohran Mamdani's primary victory in New York could mean for national politics, how Trump understands Europe and NATO better than Obama and Biden did, and what the long-term significance might be of America's bombing of Fordow.
In these urgent broadcasts, the host uncovers what he calls a dangerous convergence of enemies foreign and domestic. He argues that Democrats not only leaked classified intelligence about U.S. strikes on Iran—potentially endangering American lives—but also echoed the very talking points of Iran's Ayatollah to discredit Trump. Meanwhile, he warns, Iran's financial backing of anti-Israel protests and political candidates is reshaping America's cities from within. The emergence of openly socialist figures like Zohran Mamdani, a New York mayoral contender with ties to radical ideology, signals a future of no-go zones, collapsing tax bases, and lawless streets. From secret cash payments to Iran under Obama to the systematic erosion of American energy dominance, the host insists these developments are part of a single, coordinated agenda that threatens U.S. sovereignty, prosperity, and security.
A double-barreled political exposé uncovers deep fractures inside both parties—starting with explosive allegations that Democrat lawmakers leaked classified intel on U.S. strikes against Iran, potentially endangering American lives and aiding Tehran. The first segment accuses Democrats of aligning with Iran-backed street movements, promoting antisemitism, and undermining national security for political gain. Meanwhile, the second segment turns fire on Republican leadership, targeting Senators John Thune and Lindsey Graham for pushing a spending bill that includes illegal funding for Medicaid and food stamps for undocumented immigrants—allegedly at the behest of Bush-era donors. The host warns of a treasonous alliance between Democrats and Iran, a GOP still controlled by globalist interests, and a political class out of touch with working Americans. The message: the enemy is both outside—and within. Talking about what Democrats are saying in these classified briefings behind closed doors. One of the Democrats was in a confidential briefing in the SCIF today and said to general Cain, the operation that you ran will go down in the annals of American history as the greatest military operation ever conducted. A Democrat said that today. What's sick is that they then go on TV and do everything possible politically to undermine the administration. This is not what they believe. This is just pure political grotesque behavior. It infuriates me. Look, I'm just gonna call like it is. Maybe I'm breaking senate protocol here. But look. I can't stand these guys that say something in private, and they go out publicly and contradict it only to score cheap political points, which weakens this country and undermines our military. What is Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel saying? It's the truth. This is historic. This is amazing. This completely rewrites the map of The Middle East. And look, folks, not by a little bit either. Hold on. This is not giving up by when that happens. Here you go. He admits you've got to admire Trump. Yeah. No president in the last forty five years had the balls to do what Trump just did. And we shouldn't lose sight of that. I mean, it's just truly historic. Everything that's been done over forty years by the Ayatollah has been blown up. The nuclear program costing $100,000,000,000 lost in Hezbella lost in Hamas hundreds of billions of dollars obliterated. They have a brain drain in Iran. They have a weakening economy. Major loss. I don't agree with the president of The United States. Do not. On many, many issues. But you have to admire that when The United States says all, options are on the table, he just proved all options on the table. And China and Russia and even North Korea have to step back because that has a level of deterrence so the blast radius of this goes much farther. Now the Yeah. It was a big deal. It was amazing. But they they can't admit that. I wanna play this for you. It's today's epic rant. It's general John Raising Cade, whoever saw this whole thing. And he talks about how far back the planning for this went. Take a listen. Today's epic rant. First, let me set the stage for you. There's an organization in The US called the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, DTRA. DTRA does a lot of things for our nation, but DTRA is the world's leading expert on deeply buried underground targets. In 02/2009, a defense threat reduction agency officer was brought into a vault at an undisclosed location and briefed on something going on in Iran. For security purposes, I'm not gonna share his name. He was shown some photos and some highly classified intelligence of what looked like a major construction project in the mountains of Iran. He was tasked to study this facility, work with the intelligence community to understand it, and he was soon joined by an additional teammate. For more than fifteen years, this officer and his teammate lived and breathed this single target for dough, a critical element of I ...
President Trump and his allies are blasting Democrats over the stunning leak of classified intelligence detailing U.S. strikes on Iran's nuclear sites. In this broadcast, the host exposes how the Democrats allegedly committed treason by handing low-confidence, Iranian-sourced intel to CNN in a desperate bid to undermine Trump—only to see the narrative implode within days. Drawing connections between Iran's funding of anti-Israel street protests, the Obama administration's secret cash payments to Tehran, and the modern Democratic Party's alignment with America's adversaries, this episode argues that Democrats and their media partners can no longer sustain hoaxes in the age of X and free speech. As calls grow for prosecutions and accountability, the host makes the case that leaking classified intelligence isn't just politics—it's a felony that should land members of Congress behind bars.
Was Red Sparrow just a steamy spy thriller—or was it based on something real? In this episode, we dive deep into the Cold War's most seductive secret: Russia's alleged Sparrow School, where young agents were allegedly trained in sexpionage to seduce and spy on targets across the globe. From blackmail, honey traps, and sparrows in sexy lingerie to real operations that reached as far as the Obama administration (allegedly
Let me take you right to the heart of what's been shaking up the courts and the headlines—the ongoing saga of Donald Trump's legal battles just days before the end of June 2025. Only a year and a half after Donald Trump was convicted by a New York State jury on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in order to hide a payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels, the former president's legal team is still fighting tooth and nail to overturn that conviction. You might remember—Trump's sentencing came just ten days before his second presidential inauguration. The judge, addressing the unprecedented nature of the situation, issued an unconditional discharge. What that meant: Trump avoided any prison time or fines, but the conviction would stay with him. At his sentencing, Trump appeared via video, declaring he was treated, in his words, “very, very unfairly,” and vowing to appeal.Fast forward to just this month. Trump's lawyers found themselves back in a federal appeals court in Manhattan, arguing that not just Trump but any current or former federal official should be able to move state criminal prosecutions to federal court under an old law—one that legal experts say is rarely used and not likely to win the day. At stake, beyond Trump's own fate, is the question of how much leeway federal officers might have to shield themselves from state prosecution. The appeal is before a three-judge panel—two judges appointed by Barack Obama, one by Joe Biden—so politics, as always, looms large in the background, though the law is front and center. While that hush money conviction appeal is a major focus, it's just one item on Trump's packed legal calendar. His team has also filed a notice of appeal with New York's mid-level appeals court, but those proceedings haven't begun. In addition, the lingering aftershocks of his classified documents case in Florida continue, as does litigation from the sprawling civil fraud case in New York involving the Trump Organization and its financial practices. And even in Georgia, issues over state versus federal jurisdiction have made their way up to the Supreme Court. All this is happening while Trump, despite all legal headwinds, remains a dominant presence on the political landscape. His legal strategy appears to be one of exhausting every avenue of appeal, filing motion after motion—sometimes with little chance of ultimate success, but each move buys time and keeps his case in the public eye.To sum it up: as we close out June 2025, Donald Trump's courtroom drama is far from over, with appeals in motion and an ever-shifting legal landscape. Thanks for tuning in—make sure to check back next week for more on this unfolding legal and political saga!

A new chapter in the fractious relationship between Iran and the US began this week with America's bombing of three Iranian nuclear-development sites; Iran's retaliatory strike on a US military base in Qatar, and the tentative ceasefire in the Israel-Iran war announced by President Donald Trump. The two countries have history: Key dates include 1953 when a CIA-orchestrated a coup, with British support, overthrew Iran's democratically elected government and installed the monarch in exile, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi – the Shah of Iran; 1979 when Iranians, rebelling against his autocratic rule and fuelled by anti-American sentiment ousted the Shah putting the theocratic revolutionaries in power with their hard-line rule; November 4th, 1979 when Iranian students held more than 50 American citizens hostage at the US Embassy in Tehran in captivity for 444 days; and 1980 when US-Iran diplomatic relations broke down and stayed that way until US President Barack Obama struck a deal in 2013 with Iran to curtail its burgeoning nuclear programme. In his first presidency Trump called that nuclear deal “the worse deal over” and pulled the US out. This left the way open for Iran to ramp up its nuclear programme. But what happens now? Are the days of diplomacy over and how will Iran react?Borzou Daraghi, Iranian-American journalist and long-time Middle East-based Journalist, explains.Presented by Bernice Harrison. On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic nominee for mayor of New York City, is a Marxist and an Islamist who supports Hamas slogans, the BDS movement, and holds anti-Semitic views, though he reportedly denies these claims. If voted Mayor of NYC he will cause New York City's decline, with good people leaving and radical Islamists arriving. Mamdani's positions, including his criticism of Israel and Marxist beliefs, are incompatible with American values and pose a threat to New York City, particularly given its large Jewish population. Mamdani's nomination reflects a broader strategy by Islamists to infiltrate American institutions. We need to confront these ideologies directly. Also, ‘Pardon Me' Steve Bannon is deceiving hardworking, middle-class, blue-collar conservatives and MAGA supporters. Bannon is a con artist who leaked information against President Trump and his family, resulting in his White House dismissal in Trump's first term. He is fake MAGA, exploiting the conservative movement for personal gain; we need to recognize his deception. He is the establishment and is undermining Trump's presidency. Later, Trump explained of Truth Social that he was shocked that there was an ongoing legal witch hunt against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite his leadership in a historic victory against Iran. Netanyahu is an unparalleled warrior who eliminated a significant nuclear threat. Trump demands the trial's immediate cancellation or a pardon for Netanyahu. Finally, Rep Byron Donalds calls in and defends Trump's decision to neutralize Iranian nuclear sites, calling it the absolute right call and praises Trump for succeeding where past presidents, particularly Obama and Biden, failed by empowering Iran through misguided policies like those of Robert Malley. Donalds emphasizes Trump's clear stance against Iran possessing nuclear weapons while avoiding ground troop deployment, aligning with an America First policy. Learn more about your ad choices. The Democratic Party has become too focused on appeasing its billionaire donors and has failed to communicate its commitment to the working class, argues long-time political journalist David Sirota. The question moving forward, he says, is if the party can ever refocus its brand orthodoxy from prioritizing social and cultural issues to economic populism.Sirota joins Bethany and Luigi to dissect the outsized role of money in American politics and how it has rendered Democratic messaging incoherent by prioritizing wealthy donors over the public. He describes the current moment of populist rage against the Democratic leadership, as evidenced by polls, as a “long overdue” opportunity and offers an explanation for how economic populism became pivotal to winning elections – thus shedding light on how to reclaim the platform moving forward. He describes how former President Barack Obama's "selling out" to Wall Street and big banks became a “generational tragedy,” why Trump's tariffs are more of a power grab than legitimate economic policy to revive manufacturing, and responds to Luigi's hypothesis that populist rhetoric and policy are much easier from the right than from the left.Sirota is the founder and editor of the investigative news outlet The Lever, served as a speechwriter for Bernie Sanders, earned an Academy Award nomination for screenwriting the 2020 Netflix climate apocalypse drama Don't Look Up, and has written three books, including one on how corporate interests have shaped American economic policy.Over the last four years, Capitalisn't has interviewed conservative thinkers like Oren Cass, Patrick Deneen, and Sohrab Ahmari to understand how the political right developed a new platform after President Joe Biden's victory in 2020. Since Donald Trump returned to the Oval Office in late January, he has let loose with a flurry of executive orders, purges of government workers, takeovers of semi-independent organizations, and defunding of numerous organizations and causes. The administration has faced setbacks in courts, with judges challenging and contradicting its actions. But what happens if Trump openly defies a judge? What happens if he ignores a Supreme Court ruling? Join us for a timely conversation on Trump and the judiciary with Jeff Bleich, former U.S. ambassador and advisor to President Barack Obama and a visiting scholar at Stanford, and David Chiu, city attorney of San Francisco. Bleich argues that Trump could be following the path blazed by autocrats Vladimir Putin and Victor Orban by seeking to strip courts of powers and then purge the judiciary. The result, unprecedented in the United States, would be an executive branch untethered to the rule of law. For his part, San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu has made headlines for his legal challenges to some of President Trump's executive orders and other actions. Chiu's office has been involved with several successful lawsuits against the administration, including cases challenging the firing of tens of thousands of federal workers and cutting of funding for homelessness over DEI issues. How will judges respond? What can Congress do? What can you do? Find out when Jeff Bleich and David Chiu joins us for a very important program Learn more about your ad choices. This week's episode of the Parsing Immigration Policy podcast delves into the Insurrection Act, its historical uses, and whether it could legally authorize the use of the military to assist in the arrest and removal of illegal aliens. The Insurrection Act allows presidents to deploy federal troops not only in cases of insurrection but also when federal law can't practicably be enforced through conventional means. The Posse Comitatus Act, which many point to as preventing such a use of troops, is not the obstacle many assume it is.President Trump so far has only tasked troops with protection of federal facilities and agents, but, if he chooses to exercise it, he does have authority under the Insurrection Act to put them to work actually enforcing immigration law.“The Insurrection Act has been invoked by leaders of both parties to protect civil rights and to enforce federal law. President Trump would have ample justification to use the Insurrection Act to allow the U.S. military to assist with large-scale deportation efforts,” said podcast guest George Fishman, Senior Legal Fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies and former Deputy General Counsel at DHS.Historical precedent:Over the past more than 200 years, presidents have relied on the Insurrection Act to deal with some 30 crises.Presidents of both parties have relied on the Insurrection Act: Grant to suppress the early KKK, Cleveland to protect Chinese immigrants, Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson to enforce civil rights for African Americans, Bush to restore order during the 1992 LA riots.Misconceptions about the Posse Comitatus Act (PCA):The PCA does not apply where Congress has explicitly authorized military use — such as under the Insurrection Act.Immigration enforcement today:More than 15 million illegal aliens are in the U.S.3.6 million backlog in immigration court.1.4 million aliens have final removal orders, yet remain at large. Millions of removable aliens were released by the Biden administration, and ICE has no knowledge of their location.ICE has only 6,000 officers to manage enforcement nationwide.HostMark Krikorian is the Executive Director of the Center for Immigration StudiesGuestGeorge Fishman is the Senior Legal Fellow at the Center for Immigration StudiesRelatedDon't Fear the Insurrection ActPresident Trump Doesn't Need to Invoke the Insurrection Act — He Already HasIntro MontageVoices in the opening montage:Sen. A former Obama speechwriter moves to the Jersey Shore and learns to surf with the help of his brother-in-law: a tattooed, truck-driving Joe Rogan superfan.David, the Yale-educated writer with a fear of sharks, and Matt, the daredevil electrician with a shed full of surfboards, had never been close. But as America's crises piled up and David spiraled into existential dread, he noticed that his brother-in-law was thriving. He began to suspect Matt's favorite hobby had something to do with it.David started taking surf lessons. For months, he wiped out on waves the height of daffodils. Yet, after realizing that surfing could change him both in and out of the water, he set an audacious goal: riding a big wave in Hawaii. He searched for an expert he could trust to guide and protect him-and when he couldn't find one, he asked Matt. Together, they set out on a journey that spanned coasts, and even continents, before taking them to Oahu's famously dangerous North Shore. It's Only Drowning is a laugh-out-loud love letter to surfing-and so much more. It's an ode to embarking on adventures at any age. It's a blueprint for becoming braver at a time when it takes courage just to read the news. Most of all, it's the story of an unlikely friendship, one that crosses the fault lines of education, ideology, and culture tearing so many of us apart. It's is not just a surfing memoir - in addition to tackling (and be tackled by) the waves, David tackles the complex cultural nuances of our current society. Readers will recognize their own 'surfing' journeys and their own 'Matts', making David's story a beacon of hope to those of us who struggle to, but want to step outside our comfort zones whether that means taking up a new hobby or embarking on a journey to understand the other side of the aisle.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

Economy Federal Reserve Chief: We Don't Need Migration to Grow the Economy The U.S. can continue to grow the national economy via greater productivity among American workers, even when migration is cut back, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell told a House hearing on Tuesday. But the alternative to migration is that employers can grow their employees' productivity via investments in technology, Powell responded. “A big increase in productivity … would mean we don't need as many [migrant] workers,” he said. But growth by productivity takes time and effort, Powell warned: With productivity-enhancing things, they typically take longer to be implemented, and then it takes a while for the gains to be shown. I think in the case of artificial intelligence, those gains are coming, but they may take longer or be less in the beginning than expected. Key actions include: Chinese Tires (2009–2012): Imposed a three-year safeguard tariff under Section 421 of the Trade Act on car and light truck tires from China, starting at 35% (plus 4% existing duty), reducing to 30% and 25% in subsequent years. Aimed to counter a surge in imports harming U.S. producers; credited with saving ~1,200 jobs but cost consumers $1.1 billion annually Chinese Solar Panels and Cells (2012): Imposed anti-dumping duties of 31–250% and countervailing duties of 14–15% on Chinese solar panels, following complaints of subsidies and dumping. These tariffs shifted imports to other countries (e.g., Taiwan) but raised solar installation costs. Chinese Steel Products (2008–2012): Imposed AD/CVD tariffs on 22 Chinese products, including steel wire, pipes, and sheets, with duties ranging from 20–100%. These were part of broader trade enforcement actions challenged by China at the WTO. Other AD/CVD Actions: Approximately 15 anti-dumping case...

Austan Goolsbee is one of Tyler Cowen's favorite economists—not because they always agree, but because Goolsbee embodies what it means to think like an economist. Whether he's analyzing productivity slowdowns in the construction sector, exploring the impact of taxes on digital commerce, or poking holes in overconfident macro narratives, Goolsbee is consistently sharp, skeptical, and curious. A longtime professor at the University of Chicago's Booth School and former chair of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Obama, Goolsbee now brings that intellectual discipline—and a healthy dose of humor—to his role as president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Tyler and Austan explore what theoretical frameworks Goolsbee uses for understanding inflation, why he's skeptical of monetary policy rules, whether post-pandemic inflation was mostly from the demand or supply side, the proliferation of stablecoins and shadow banking, housing prices and construction productivity, how microeconomic principles apply to managing a regional Fed bank, whether the structure of the Federal Reserve system should change, AI's role in banking supervision and economic forecasting, stablecoins and CBDCs, AI's productivity potential over the coming decades, his secret to beating Ted Cruz in college debates, and more. This week, we examine Trump's pathological relationship with Fox News and how his morning TV viewing sessions led directly to bombing Iran. We trace the disturbing line from Fox pundits praising Israeli strikes to Trump launching his own attacks—strikes that Rolling Stone reports were "based on vibes" rather than intelligence. We explore how a president who spent years tweeting that Obama would "play the Iran card" has now done exactly that himself, abandoning his "no foreign wars" promise the moment cable news suggested he needed to "get more involved." It's the story of how America's foreign policy became must-see TV, and how Republicans reprogram themselves to cheer whatever Dear Leader does next."The president was closely monitoring Fox News, which was airing wall-to-wall praise of Israel's military operation and featuring guests urging Mr. Trump to get more involved." —The New York [Effing] TimesWe close by discussing the 1976 BBC production "I, Claudius" and its plot's uncanny similarities to Washington, D.C. today. Eric and Eliot host a special Shield of the Republic episode to discuss the Iranian response to Trump's strike on Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. They assess the largely symbolic Iranian attack on al Udeid Air Base in Qatar as an attempt to take an off ramp from further escalation as they did in the aftermath of the Soleimani strike in 2020. They also touch on why Trump did it, the difficulties of bomb damage assessment, what happened to the HEU and are there other Iranian facilities, the Israeli intelligence brief, the cracks in MAGA, Trump's sudden endorsement of regime change and the hypocrisy of those calling for a Congressional vote to legitimize the actions given their prior support for Obama's operation in Libya and Clinton's campaigns in Bosnia and Kosovo all of which took place without a vote. On Monday's Mark Levin Show, President Trump announced a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, ending a 12-day war. What will it be about this agreement to ensure they don't violate it? Iran should face unconditional surrender due to its weakened military and lack of support from allies like China, Russia, or Arab nations. Trump's decisive military actions prevented Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, which no other president, including Clinton, Obama, or Biden, was willing or able to accomplish. Without Trump's intervention, Iran would have become a nuclear power, potentially arming groups like the Houthis and enabling terrorist sleeper cells in the U.S. to acquire dirty bombs. Also, Trump's actions on Iran have ensured peace for a period. But there's a group of individuals—Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, and others—who are undermining Trump and aligning with radical left ideologies, including anti-Israel sentiments. These figures, supported by liberal media, aim to sabotage Trump's movement and the next election. Later, Marc Thiessen calls in to discuss a Reagan Institute poll showing that MAGA Republicans strongly support U.S. global leadership, rejecting isolationism. The poll indicates 90% of MAGA voters prioritize preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, aligning with Trump's decision to join Israel's strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities. The claims of a splintering MAGA base over Trump's Iran policy are exaggerated, as isolationist critics represent a small minority within the GOP. Finally, Lee Smith calls in and discusses how Trump's political opponents, particularly within the Democratic Party and aligned institutions, have pursued strategies aimed at humbling America to counter his influence. These efforts stem from a belief that Trump's "Make America Great Again" rhetoric and policies threaten their vision of a globalized, progressive world order. Learn more about your ad choices.
