In this episode of The Wright Report, Bryan delivers five major updates on the war with Iran, including rising U.S. casualties, the targeted killings of top Iranian regime leaders, and growing signs that internal pressure inside Iran may be building. He also reports on Mossad and CIA psychological operations targeting IRGC members directly, the strategic importance of key islands like Kharg and Kesh-Em in the Strait of Hormuz, and what a potential U.S. Marine operation to seize them could mean for the war. Finally, Bryan breaks down a major political shock in Washington after President Trump's counter-terrorism chief resigns, accusing the administration of being influenced by Israel, and explains why that allegation and the broader media reaction could have serious implications for U.S. politics and public trust. Early in the morning of October 23, 1983 two truck bombs were detonated at buildings in Beirut Lebanon housing members of the US and French Multinational Force in Lebanon – a military peace mission in the eight-year-old Lebanese civil war. The attack by a terrorist group called Islamic Jihad, which had backing from the governments of Iran and Syria, killed 307 people: 241 U.S. and 58 French military personnel, six civilians and two of the attackers. Two hundred of the 241 US casualties were US Marines, making it the deadliest single-day death toll for the United States Marine Corps since the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II. Based on interviews with survivors, military records and personal records, Targeted Beirut by today's guest, Pulitzer Prize nominated historian and NYT bestselling author author James M. Scott, and past HBH guest Jack Carr is the authoritative account of the deadly attack. While the world focuses on Trump and Iran, Israel is quietly fighting a multi-front war across the Middle East. Tara explains how Israeli operations against Hezbollah, Iranian proxies, and nuclear scientists are preventing a regional explosion—and why their actions are allowing the U.S. to focus on dismantling Iran's core military and energy infrastructure. From intelligence operations to potential U.S. Marines securing Carg Island, this episode breaks down the real strategy unfolding behind the headlines and why this moment could reshape global power, energy markets, and America's role as the world's dominant superpower. SUMMARY In today's episode, Tara highlights the crucial role Israel is playing in the broader conflict with Iran—an effort largely overlooked in media coverage. As U.S. forces strike Iranian infrastructure, Israel is simultaneously engaging Iranian proxies across the region, including Hezbollah in Lebanon and other militant groups funded by Tehran. Tara explains that without Israel absorbing much of the proxy conflict, the United States could already be fighting wars across multiple countries. Israeli intelligence operations, powered by the renowned Mossad network, have targeted Iranian nuclear scientists, military leaders, and regime operatives while drones hunt down regime shock troops block by block. Meanwhile, attention is turning to the strategic objective of Carg Island, the hub of Iran's oil export infrastructure. Military analysts suggest a limited deployment of 300–500 U.S. Marines could secure the island—effectively collapsing Iran's economic lifeline by cutting off most of its oil exports. Tara warns that while the U.S. and its allies cannot lose militarily, the greatest threat is the court of public opinion. Any American casualties could become a political flashpoint exploited by critics to halt operations before the regime is fully dismantled. Finally, she explores the global implications: weakening China's access to discounted Iranian oil, shifting alliances in the Middle East, pressure on Russia and Europe, unrest in authoritarian states like Cuba and Venezuela, and a potential turning point that could restore America as the undisputed global superpower. KEY TALKING POINTS Israel fighting Iran's proxy forces across multiple countries Hezbollah strikes and potential Israeli ground operations in Lebanon Mossad intelligence enabling targeted strikes on Iranian leadership Iranian nuclear scientists eliminated to prevent proliferation Drone warfare targeting regime shock troops inside Iran Strategic importance of Carg Island to Iran's oil exports Possible deployment of 300–500 U.S. Marines to secure the island Economic collapse risk for Iran if oil distribution is cut off China's weakening influence and internal political purges Global ripple effects: Middle East alliances, Russia, NATO, and energy markets SOCIAL MEDIA BLURB While the world watches Iran, Israel is fighting the war nobody's talking about.
Tara breaks down Trump's warning to NATO over Iran, the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, and how U.S. energy independence is taking shape with new refineries. From international oil deals to Democrats' alignment with Iran and media misinformation, this episode exposes the stakes for America, allies, and global markets. SUMMARY In this episode, Tara unpacks Trump's message to NATO allies: help escort tankers through the Strait of Hormuz—or face consequences. She explains why the U.S. no longer depends heavily on Middle Eastern oil, how new domestic refineries will make energy cheaper, and why most “dumb” policy decisions strangely benefit China. Tara highlights the geopolitical calculus: Trump is calling out specific allies like China, France, Japan, South Korea, and the UK, while leaving oil-dependent Asian countries out to facilitate energy deals. She explains how controlling Hormuz allows the U.S. to secure dollar-based oil pricing and prevent China's shadow fleet from dominating trade. The podcast also debunks media narratives that Trump had no plan for Hormuz, showing his decades-long strategy and pre-existing military preparations, including missile strikes on Carg Island. Tara emphasizes the risks for U.S. Marines tasked with securing the island, noting how Democrats and media might exploit casualties to weaken the U.S. position. Finally, she explores the energy and economic impacts, comparing current gas prices with Biden-era highs, and highlights how Democrats' political strategy aligns with Iran's interests, while Trump strengthens America's energy independence and geopolitical leverage. KEY TALKING POINTS Trump warns NATO: show up for Hormuz or face consequences U.S. already militarily and economically decimated Iran New Texas refinery to refine light sweet crude, cutting dependence on foreign oil Allies' inaction exposes weakness of NATO and UN commitments Strategic oil deals with India, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines Importance of controlling the Strait of Hormuz for dollar-denominated oil trade Operation Epic Fury: Carg Island strikes, securing military and oil infrastructure Democrats' messaging aligns with Iran's interests; media spreads misinformation Gas prices and energy independence explained SOCIAL MEDIA BLURB Trump calls out NATO & Iran allies over Hormuz!

From Iran's perspective, this war is going according to plan. Even though America and Israel have dominated the battlefield, the regime has not collapsed, the Strait of Hormuz has been blocked, and the entire region is under pressure. Yet major questions remain over how many missiles they have left and how long they can stop major protests from erupting once again on the streets. Roland Oliphant is joined by The Telegraph's chief foreign affairs commentator David Blair and foreign correspondent Akhtar Makoii to discuss the conflict so far and answer listeners' questions. Plus, Jonathan Hackett, a former Marine Corps interrogator, counterintelligence agent, and special operations intelligence officer, returns to give his assessment of the past two weeks, discuss the Israeli covert ops taking place on the ground, and look at where things might go from here. “Birth Tourism” is a major national security threat, with as many as 1.5 million Chinese children who were born as “birthright” US citizens potentially becoming voters in US elections, author Peter Schweizer told a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday. Sitting on a panel with three constitutional lawyers and a US Marine, Schweizer told senators that China has created an “industrial scale” way of creating American citizens who are born in the US and quickly whisked back to China where they are raised and indoctrinated in the Chinese Communist Party's ways. He cited Chinese government and academic estimates that between 50,000 and 100,000 Chinese have been on US soil since 2013, meaning they are only a few years away from being old enough to vote.

Patrick shares how to approach prayers for the Pope's intentions, and fields personal stories from callers about Catholic school discipline, from rulers, laughter, and respect. He moves between callers wrestling with faith, parish engagement, and the journey for Protestant ministers seeking ordination, drawing from memories that bounce between gentle humor and old wounds. Javier - What if the Holy Father is an anti-Pope? Will the plenary indulgence still count? (01:16) Rita - I think how Catholic schools used to operate affects why so many adults don't follow the faith: There used to be a lot of corporal punishment. (03:42) Stuart - I want to comment about being a fair-weather Catholic vs committed Catholics. Could a Protestant seminarian become a priest? (08:36) George - Regarding the sisters who taught at the elementary schools; I support the nuns. Some were overly ambitious, but on the whole, it was not like that. (20:53) Warren - I went to public School, and I got smacked and paddled. The principal owned a paddle and called it 'The Holy Ghost'. (24:21) Patrick shares some emails that have come in about getting “whacked” at school by nuns Judy – Comment on experiences in Catholic Schools regarding nuns with rulers. (28:57) Frank – Have you ever seen the Alfred Hitchcock program 'The Final Vow' about heroic sisters? Pamela – It’s good to put into consideration that there were no teacher aides and there were 50-60 kids in a classroom. The Nuns had a lot on her plate. (36:39) Jackie - The sisters that taught me were brutal. My husband didn’t have that same experience. (39:58) Mary Ann - I went through Catholic grammar school and college. Holy Cross nuns here never gave anyone a whack. They were great. (42:24) Janet (email) – What is your personal view of parishioners who fall asleep during Mass? (44:10) Frank - I like the Patrick Madrid show and am a US Marine. Sacred Heart and Franciscan nuns are the best and they prepared me for boot camp. (47:47)

//The Wire//1500Z March 1, 2026// //PRIORITY// //BLUF: WAR CONTINUES IN MIDDLE EAST. US CONSULATE UNDER ATTACK IN KARACHI, 9X RIOTERS KILLED AS US MARINES DEFEND THE COMPOUND. AYATOLLAH CONFIRMED DEAD FOLLOWING AIRSTRIKE. MISSILE AND DRONE STRIKES CONTINUE AROUND THE REGION.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-Middle East: Yesterday afternoon, President Trump confirmed the death of Ayatollah Khamenei, who was killed in an airstrike in Tehran. Most of his senior advisors were also killed in the same engagement. On the maritime front, this morning one commercial tanker vessel was struck by an Iranian drone, with the crew of the M/T SKYLIGHT abandoning ship after their vessel was hit in the Strait of Hormuz. A few hours ago a second tanker was reportedly struck in the Strait, with the M/T MKD VYOM being struck also attempting to transit the waterway this morning.Analyst Comment: Of note, the SKYLIGHT does not appear to have been attempting to transit the Strait and has likely been anchored in the same place for a few years. This vessel was actually serving the Iranian oil industry, and was on the US sanctions list, so the Iranians appear to have targeted one of their own ships, possibly so that the Americans couldn't make use of it.Significant strikes have been reported at the Jebel Ali petroleum terminals in Dubai, and satellite imagery of Ali Al Salem Airbase in Kuwait has confirmed that the base fuel point was hit, with the fuel bladders/blivets at this location burning overnight. All total, drone and missile attacks have remained constant throughout the day and night, with the various Interior and Defense Ministries of the following nations providing data on how many interceptions have been conducted overnight:Qatar: 65 ballistic missiles and 12 drones intercepted. Bahrain: 45 missiles and 9 drones intercepted. Jordan: 49 missiles and drones (combined figure), 13 of which were intercepted. Israel: Over 200 missiles and drones intercepted U.A.E. - 137 missiles and 209 drones detected, 195 of which were intercepted successfully. Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have acknowledged strikes targeting their countries, however neither have confirmed how many drones/missiles have been intercepted.Analyst Comment: Note that these figures only encapsulate the munitions that were successfully intercepted and shot down; most countries don't want to publish the data of how many drones actually made it through their defenses, so the figure for how many strikes have been conducted so far is hard to discern. This time around all belligerents are exercising good operational security, so details of strikes are often hard to find via social media. This is most sharply demonstrated in Israel, where hundreds of strikes are occurring, but difficult to pinpoint on a map due to the exact location of strikes rarely being reported.Pakistan: Overnight, riots broke out at the US Consulate General in Karachi, which rapidly transitioned into an attempt to breach the American compound. After some time, rioters breached the outer security cordon, and US Marines which had taken up defensive positions inside the facility opened fire on the intruders before they could breach the secondary line of security around the perimeter.Analyst Comment: Details are extremely hard to verify, however local sources claim that a total of 9x Pakistani rioters were killed during the engagements so far, and the Marines have successfully held the Key Terrain around the Consulate for the past few hours. However tensions are rising, and if the videos of the riots are any indication, Pakistan is not up to the task of defending the American compound, as rioters were allowed to breach, destroy, and set the outer cordon of the American diplomatic post on fire, with no Pakistani security anyw

Jennifer and I are getting ready to film a segment at Beyond Belief about all the research regarding Amelia Earhart - so I pulled this file from three years ago to demonstrate that every time Amelia Earhart shows up - she's outside of time as we understand it. Can answer questions about her path and journey - even when I repeat the same questions years apart. For thos familiar with the book SHE WAS NEVER LOST: THE AMELIA EARHART SAGA - it was 40 years ago when I started researching her life and journey. It was 30 years ago when I tried to direct a feature film with my friend Rebecca Broussard, who could have been her twin at the time. Film director Phillip Noyce was going to produce - but for whatever reason, it didn't get off the runway. However, the story kept coming back to me in various ways - and finally I decided to put together all the research, including a trip to Saipan in 2013 where I found 15 new eyewitnesses to her story - including US Marines who found her Electra on Aslito airfield, who guarded it, watched it test flown and then watched as the military decided to "get it out of the way." And earlier version of the govt covering something up and then pretending for decades that they didn't find it - didn't fly it - didn't recover her briefcase with her passports, maps and charts. She was never "lost" - the US knew where she was, but because they learned it via the secret codes of the Japanese, they couldn't reveal that they knew. The Japanese knew where she was - and was likely hoping to use her in some fashion, but never got to. So Jennifer and I are going to talk about her on Gaia, on the Beyond Belief show - and go over the two aspects of getting this story told - the details of forensic research, as well as the details from the Flipside - some of the more incredible clues that she put in front of us to tell her story in a way that's never been told before. The sound is a little screwy - I was on the road at the time we did this podcast, so apologies to those who are tuning in on the car radio - but it is what it is. Thanks for tuning in!
William Morrow is thrilled to publish RETRIBUTION: A US Marine's Fight for Justice, from the Russian Gulag to Ukraine's Front Lines by Trevor Reed on January 27, 2026. As the war in Ukraine remains complicated, Reed shares his firsthand perspective on the conflict, along with an unprecedented, first person account of life in the Russian gulag. In August 2019, Trevor Reed, a former US Marine and Presidential Guard, was arrested in Russia on false, trumped-up charges. For three years, he was imprisoned in the infamous Russian gulag, where the inhumane treatment threatened his health so severely his parents and the U.S. government feared for his life. After losing roughly fifty pounds from his already trim body, he was released in a 2022 prisoner swap that dominated headlines. Most people would go home, try to move on with their lives, and forget the horrors they endured. But not Trevor Reed.Reed trained relentlessly to regain his health and strength, aiming to volunteer in Ukraine to fight the Russians and seek revenge. Having faced Russian cruelty up close, he knew what the Ukrainians were experiencing, and he knew he could help them. Just six months after being released from prison, Reed smuggled himself into Ukraine. He fought in one of the hottest fronts of the war . . . until one dark night a comrade stepped on a land mine. Reed almost lost his leg and his life, barely making it home to Texas alive.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

This week, we're continuing our look at some of our favorite Rob Reiner films with 1992's A Few Good Men. Tom Cruise and Demi Moore star as military lawyers who intends to prove that two US Marines charged with murdering a fellow soldier, were only following the orders of their base commander (Jack Nicholson). Tune in and find out what we thought of it.

Blatant theft and an act of piracy. That's what Venezuela is calling the actions of the United States in the seizure of an oil tanker. The ship was leaving Venezuela when US Marines and Special Forces dropped down from a helicopter and took the tanker. It's the latest in a string of actions, including blowing up so called "drug boats", escalating a possible confrontation between the US and Venezuela. We'll discuss whether it was piracy or lawful with former federal prosecutor David Katz.
Today on the show, tensions between the US and Venezuela are reaching a boiling point, as President Donald Trump warned that US strikes on land targets in Venezuela could come "very soon." Fareed speaks with two former top officials on Venezuela: former US ambassador to Venezuela James Story, and former special representative for Venezuela, Elliott Abrams about what's likely to happen next, and the potential fallout if Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro is ousted. Then, US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met with Russian President Vladimir Putin this week about the war in Ukraine for a lengthy five hours session — and in the end, there's still no peace deal. Fareed is joined by Ukrainian journalist Nataliya Gumenyuk for a conversation about what Ukrainians make of the impasse, allegations of corruption in that country, and Witkoff's relationships with the Russians. Finally, the Trump administration intensified its immigration crackdown after last week's attack in Washington that left one National Guard member dead and another critically injured. The shooter was an Afghan national who had worked with the CIA and had come to the US in 2021 through a visa program designed to resettle vulnerable Afghans in the wake of the US withdrawal. Fareed talks with The New York Times' Thomas Gibbons-Neff—a former Kabul bureau chief who had twice deployed to Afghanistan as a US Marine—about the role Afghan allies played in America's war, and the challenges of resettlement. In this week's episode of the Seven Figure Consultant Podcast, I talked to Catherine Mattice, the founder/CEO of Civility Partners, an organizational development firm focused on helping organizations create respectful workplace cultures and specializing in turning around toxic cultures. If you left corporate because of a toxic boss or workplace culture, and you're now building your consulting business while still carrying that weight, this episode is for you. Many consultants who transition from corporate are unknowingly shaped by the trauma they experienced, and it shows up in how they price, set boundaries, and show up with clients. In this episode, we unpack what really happens after you leave a toxic environment, why shame keeps so many consultants stuck, and the practical steps you can take to stop letting your former workplace control your new business. In This Episode: [00:01:27] Catherine's origin story: From being bullied by a toxic peer in HR to founding Civility Partners and writing four books on workplace culture [00:09:30] The invisible symptoms: How workplace trauma manifests as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and physical illness - even after you've left [00:13:15] Why consultants who experienced toxicity struggle with boundaries, overdeliver, and undercharge with clients [00:17:45] The fawning response: Understanding why you might say yes to everything and how it's keeping you from premium positioning [00:21:30] Taking your power back: Practical advice on therapy, boundary-setting, and rebuilding your relationship with work [00:28:09] The first step to healing: Why acknowledging what happened (without shame) is essential before you can move forward Key Takeaways: Workplace trauma doesn't end when you leave. Research shows that prolonged workplace bullying creates symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and physical illness that persist long after you exit the toxic environment. Your body doesn't automatically know you're safe just because you changed jobs. Fawning is a trauma response - and it's costing you clients. If you experienced a toxic workplace, you may have developed a fawning response (people-pleasing, overdelivering, avoiding conflict). This shows up in your consulting business as underpricing, saying yes to everything, and failing to set boundaries with clients, which undermines your ability to position as a premium strategic advisor. Your consulting business is your chance to do it differently. You have the opportunity to create a business that doesn't mirror the toxic environment you left. This means consciously designing boundaries, workflows, and client relationships that honor your wellbeing - not replicating the overwork and undervaluation you experienced in corporate. Quotes: "I think for a lot of people it's hard to sort of admit that their workplace caused so much drama and real trauma for them." - Catherine Mattice "Start changing your self-talk - admit that this happened and that it's not something to be ashamed of. It happens to lots of people. That's why I have a book." - Catherine Mattice "If you don't like what you used to have, don't create a business that mirrors the exact same environment. Aim for more. Know that more is always out there." - Jessica Fearnley Useful Links Catherine: CivilityPartners.com Book: Navigating a Toxic Workplace for Dummies Read actionable insights on the Civility Partners blog Jessica: Buy Jessica's book, Too Much, on Amazon Get in touch with Jessica to discuss your consulting business Leave a rating and review for the Seven Figure Consultant Podcast Connect with Jessica on LinkedIn Guest Bio Catherine Mattice, MA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, is the founder/CEO of Civility Partners, an organizational development firm focused on helping organizations create respectful workplace cultures and specializing in turning around toxic cultures. On 19 November 2005, US Marines killed 24 civilians in Haditha, Iraq, many of them women and children. The incident led to the longest US war crimes investigation of the Iraq war. But in the end, no one went to prison. A four-year investigation by BBC Eye has uncovered footage, legal documents and marine testimonies that have never before been made public. Reporter Lara El Gibaly speaks to the forensic investigator and lawyers involved in the case, who are speaking out about what happened, and why those responsible for the deaths walked free. And she travels to Iraq to take this information to the survivors, Safa and Khalid, who have been searching for answers about the killing of their families for twenty years.
The end is near. The Senate FINALLY reaches a deal to reopen the government. Meanwhile, Trump floats several new policy ideas. Is a stimulus check coming your way? And finally, happy 250th to the US Marines! In November 2005, a group of US Marines killed 24 civilians in Haditha, Iraq. The case against them became one of the most high-profile war crimes prosecutions in US history—but then it fell apart. Only one Marine went to trial for the killings, and all he received was a slap on the wrist. Even his own defense attorney found the outcome shocking. “It's meaningless," said attorney Haytham Faraj. “The government decided not to hold anybody accountable. I mean, I don't know, I don't know how else to put it.”The Haditha massacre, as it came to be known, is the subject of the current season of The New Yorker's In the Dark podcast and this week's episode of Reveal. Reporter Madeleine Baran and her team spent four years looking into what happened at Haditha and why no one was held accountable. They also uncovered a previously unreported killing that happened that same day, a 25th victim whose story had never before been told. Photos from this story, as well as a searchable database of military war crimes, can be found at newyorker.com/season-3.
