In this episode of PivotMe, April dives into one of the sneakiest ways we sabotage ourselves: saying yes after a string of no's. Our brains often trick us into believing we “deserve” a reward after sacrifice—even if that yes derails our goals. April shares how to recognize this moment of weakness, why it happens, and how to build the self-awareness needed to stay aligned with your bigger vision. She emphasizes the importance of being intentional in decision-making, ensuring that every yes or no moves you closer to the life and business you're building. What You'll Learn in This Episode: How your brain uses “rewards” to justify a yes after multiple no's. How to be intentional in decision-making and outsmart your brain. The power of saying the fourth no with the same energy as the first. Why awareness is the first step in stopping sabotage. Quote to Remember: “Your brain will try to trick you into a yes after sacrifice—but the true reward is staying aligned with your goals.” – April Key Takeaway: High performers don't just say no once—they say no consistently, even when their brain is screaming for an easy yes. That consistency is where the magic happens. ______________________________________

You have all the strategies, all the frameworks, and all the tools, but you're still not implementing them. At this point, you know the problem isn't your lack of knowledge. Today I'm switching things up from my usual strategy heavy episodes to tackle the real issue that's keeping you stuck: your mindset around marketing and content creation. After being surrounded by entrepreneurs outside my direct industry, I've realized we're complaining about posting 3 times a week while others are treating content creation like the full-time job it actually is. The truth is, we're headed toward a future where you can't afford to be on just 1 platform anymore, and if you can't manage 2 posts now, you're going to struggle when the standard becomes 6 posts across multiple platforms just to crack six figures. This isn't about adding more to your to-do list, it's about fundamentally shifting how you think about content and marketing in your business. I'm walking you through the exact mindset shifts that have allowed me to expand my marketing platforms and treat content creation like what it actually is: the primary way I make money. From stopping the comparison trap with other niches to understanding why discomfort in content creation is actually data, these shifts will change how you approach your entire marketing strategy. In today's episode, we're talking about: How to reframe every post as a salesperson knocking on 1,000 doors The difference between teaching and selling through content  Why comparing your content to other niches is sabotaging your strategy How comfort in content creation is actually preventing your growth  The mindset shift from inspiration-based posting to systematic content creation  Connect with me:  Website Join our email list! While she was still working in recruiting, Baiba discovered her favorite part of the job wasn't the spreadsheets or the scheduling, it was the human connection. She loved coaching candidates, hearing their career stories, and helping people see their own potential. That passion inspired her to start her own podcast, The Career in Technicolor, where she interviews people about their career journeys in living color. But when the layoff hit, she found herself in that all-too-familiar “what now?” moment.Instead of sitting still (because that's not her style), Baiba leaned into her creative energy, painting, cooking, cleaning, and trying new things. In this conversation, you'll discover:• How to spot Wetiko when it's running you and why seeing it clearly breaks the pattern• The quantum nature of this mind virus and how your healing shifts the collective field• Why your deepest struggles are actually revelations and how to extract their medicineHave you ever wondered why the same destructive patterns keep showing up in your family, generation after generation, like some kind of toxic inheritance you never asked for?Growing up, I knew addiction ran in my family. I knew I came from trauma. It was there in the stories, in the family history, but my dad had been sober most of my life. At least the life I could remember. And maybe that's exactly why I felt immune to it. I was aware. I was conscious. I was going to be different. I'd learned from the past without having to live it.Until I wasn't different at all.Until I found myself eight years deep in my own eating disorder, trapped in cycles that felt completely beyond my control. Wondering how the hell I'd ended up becoming the very thing I thought I'd escaped. This wasn't just personal failure. This was something way bigger than me.What I was experiencing has a name. Indigenous wisdom keepers have known this for centuries. They called it Wetiko. A cannibalistic mind virus that feeds on human consciousness, spreading from person to person, generation to generation. And right now? This thing is everywhere.Look around. Families torn apart by politics. Communities fracturing. We're destroying our planet while building technologies that could save us or kill us. Depression and anxiety rates climbing every year. We keep treating these like separate problems. They're not. They're all symptoms of the same infection.Today our guest is Paul Levy. A pioneer in the field of spiritual emergence, Paul is a wounded healer in private practice, assisting others who are also awakening to the dreamlike nature of reality. He has authored six books, three of which are on the Wetiko mind virus, and is the founder of the "Awaken in the Dream Community" in Portland, Oregon.Links from the episode:Show Notes: mindlove.com/416Join the Mind Love CollectiveSign up for The Morning Mind Love for short daily notes to wake up inspiredSupport Mind Love SponsorsSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Have you ever wrestled with the tension of female friendships? One day it feels like a refuge, the next like a rivalry. Too often, even in the Church, women can struggle to truly trust—or even like—other women. That’s why I was so excited to sit down with bestselling author Natalie Runion to talk about her new book, I Don’t Even Like Women. In it, Natalie flips the script on the narratives that keep us divided and reminds us that God designed friendships with other women to be life-giving, healing, and deeply purposeful. In our conversation, Natalie shares how: We can dismantle the lies that distance us from one another. Past trauma doesn’t disqualify us from finding safe, meaningful friendships. Humor and honesty can free us from comparison, fear, and insecurity. Healthy female friendships equip us to live boldly into our God-given callings. This episode is for anyone who’s ever wondered: Are women my competition or my collaborators? My rivals or my refuge? I promise you’ll walk away with hope, encouragement, and practical tools for building friendships that last. There's something about music that cuts deeper than words alone. A single lyric, a familiar melody, or even the rhythm of a beat can stir memories we thought were long forgotten and awaken parts of ourselves we may have buried. It reminds us of who we were before the chaos, before the pain, before substances clouded our vision.  Pursuing our favorite hobbies before substance use can be a lifeline back to our core, a way of reclaiming the truest version of ourselves. Listen in as our guest this week shares how he turned his lifelong passion into purpose and found a way back home to himself. Skyler Ray was born on November 28, 1990, in San Jose, California. He grew up in foster homes and spent multiple years homeless—going from being locked up to sleeping on the sidewalks of downtown Portland. His music is deeply rooted in his life experiences, including addiction, incarceration, and homelessness. He is a firm believer in spreading hope and giving back to the community he once helped destroy. Since being released from prison on November 30, 2018, Skyler has refocused on his music and is determined to share his message with the world. He continues to live in Portland, Oregon, and remains clean and sober. In this conversation, Jamie Demeris and Skyler Ray discuss what it really takes to rebuild a life after addiction. Together, they explore the mindset shifts that turn relapse into resilience, why consistency and small steps matter more than giant leaps, and how reconnecting with your passions can anchor you in sobriety.  Skyler shares how music became both his therapy and his message, and why vulnerability and self-respect are the foundation of lasting recovery. Whether you're in recovery, supporting a loved one, or just searching for hope, this conversation will remind you that transformation is always possible. Topics Discussed: The importance of continuously working on yourself  Why relapse isn't a step back and how you can stand up stronger  Pursuing your passions and who you are at your core in sobriety Why small, consistent steps make the most impact Reconnecting with your why & remembering who you were before substances Learning to love and respect yourself — CHAPTERS:  0:00 Introduction to Positive Recovery MD 01:10 Meet Skylar Ray: From Addiction to Recovery 02:16 Skylar's Battle with Addiction 03:56 Turning Point: Embracing Music and Sobriety 12:50 The Road to Recovery Tour 19:35 Overcoming Disbelief and Embracing Change 22:54 Climbing the Corporate Ladder 23:43 A Humbling Demotion 24:17 Prison Reflections and Personal Growth 26:22 Musical Journey and Personal Transformation 29:14 The Power of Sound and Recovery 33:23 Chasing Dreams and Overcoming Challenges 40:33 Tour Dates and Final Thoughts — Connect with Skyler Ray:  Road to Recovery Tour: https://www.officialskylerray.com/road-to-recovery-tour  Website: www.officialskylerray.com  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/therealSkylerRay  — Connect with PRC on Social: IG: https://www.instagram.com/positiverecoverycenters  FB: https://www.facebook.com/PositiveRecoveryCenters  TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@positiverecoverycenter  LI: https://www.linkedin.com/company/positiverecoverycenters  YT: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4JcDF1gjlYch4V4iBbCgZg   Want even more expert insights and support on the recovery journey? In this episode of Breakaway Wealth, Jim is joined by Blair Gatchell of Breva.ai to discuss how business owners can use artificial intelligence to make better acquisition and management decisions. They examine how replacing gut instinct with real-time analytics can reduce risk, improve cash flow, and create a sustainable framework for growth. 3 Key Takeaways: The Value of a Defined Process – A clear, repeatable process for evaluating and acquiring businesses creates consistency and reduces reliance on intuition. AI as a Decision-Making Tool – Artificial intelligence can assess financial health, identify risks, and surface opportunities faster and more accurately than manual analysis. Post-Acquisition Performance – Technology can help monitor cash flow, measure operational health, and keep managers accountable long after the deal closes. Business ownership requires more than vision—it demands a system for making informed, fact-based decisions. The right tools can help owners identify the best opportunities, manage them effectively, and expand without sacrificing control.
