It's Friday, August 14th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus India's March for Life draws 5,000 India's fifth National March for Life was held on August 8 and 9 in the city of Chennai, drawing a crowd of 5,000 people eager to proclaim the dignity of human life, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Cardinal Anthony Poola, president of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India, was present at the march and delivered a powerful pro-life address. He said, “Pro-life is the most important mission to be carried out in our dioceses, congregations and institutions. If we do not act now, we may soon be left with institutions – but without people. … Do not be afraid. The Catholic Church in India stands with you to fight for the right to life of every unborn child.” Emma Magdalene of LifeSiteNews.com added, “The number one cause of death today is not COVID, cancer, or even any war. It's abortion. The World Health Organization reports that over 73 million abortions take place globally every year. What a heartbreaking reality.” Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is Democratic presidential frontrunner Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York is now the frontrunner to become the 2028 Democratic presidential nominee, according to Polymarket odds, marking the first time she has led the pack, reports The Independent. As of Wednesday evening, 21 percent of traders backed the New York leftist, who was trailed by Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom at 17 percent. On rival prediction site Kalshi, the results were the same, with Ocasio-Cortez narrowly topping Newsom. Meanwhile, conventional political polls still put former Vice President Kamala Harris at the top spot, with Newsom in second, and Cortez in a distant fourth. Luigi Mangione expected to plead guilty to assassinating UnitedHealthcare CEO Luigi Mangione is expected to plead guilty today, August 14th, in his federal case tied to his alleged execution of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson — in an apparent bid to dodge a life sentence, reports the New York Post. The 28-year-old accused killer — who is set to appear at a morning hearing in Manhattan federal court — is charged in the federal case with two counts of stalking resulting in death stemming from his alleged December 2024 cold-blooded murder of the powerful executive on a Manhattan sidewalk. Mangione would still likely face a potential life sentence if he were to plead guilty in federal court, but would hope that U.S. District Judge Margaret Garnett doles out a lesser sentence. The heir of a wealthy Maryland family led authorities on a dramatic five-day manhunt before local cops in Altoona, Pennsylvania finally nabbed him while he munched on breakfast at a local McDonald's. (Look at raw bodycam footage: Scroll to the :52 mark) Prosecutors say he plotted the shocking killing to make a violent political statement, leaving behind bullet casings at the crime scene with the words “delay” and “deny” etched into them — echoing a phrase insurers allegedly use to describe dodging paying out claims. Christian weatherman's prayers on-air for safety in San Antonio And finally, San Antonio, Texas-based meteorologist Bill Taylor on KENS-5 TV, a media colleague of mine, went viral for praying live on air on July 15th for the people of the Texas Hill Country who were facing an imminent tornado on the ground. During continuous, commercial-free coverage, he said this. TAYLOR: “You look at the time of day and there are just a lot of people that would be traveling in this area, traveling to work — Saint Hedwig, China Grove, right over Highway 87, right at [Loop] 1604. A number of motorists here. “So, Lord, I pray for protection. God, your sovereignty is what we lean into in moments like this, that drivers stay aware, stay alert. That you give them wisdom. Bless these drivers with wisdom. Keep them safe. Put angels around them of protection as they travel. Thank you, Lord. We're just going to get you home safely.” Later, Taylor offered this prayer. TAYLOR: “Praying for these people in the path of this storm that Lord God, your sovereignty would be here. That You, Lord, would protect everyone in the path of this storm. That You would give wisdom and clarity for families to seek shelter. That these plans would enact now. That people would reach out to those people in this affected area to give them the warning they need. In Your holy name, protect us, Lord.” In a follow-up interview on the Christian Broadcasting Network, Bill Taylor explained what was going through his mind at the time. TAYLOR: “This could be a tornado on the ground at any second, and it was impacting a densely populated area. And knowing the sensitivity of the Hill Country flooding that took more than 100 lives a year ago, knowing how destructive a tornado can be, it just truly came out of the Holy Spirit within me to start praying in that moment for protection, for His sovereignty, for people to be clear and wise enough to seek shelter. “When we're in continuous coverage, there's no producer prompting me. There's no script in weather ever, even on a routine day. We're on our own. We're doing a PowerPoint presentation based on our slides that we put together. We're our own producers. The only time that somebody's in my ear is to tell me how much time I have left. “Well, when we have life-threatening weather, we're on till it's over. We stay on — commercial-free — until it's over. And it's on all platforms between broadcast, then our stream channel, Facebook, YouTube. “And when it happened, the Spirit of God came over me and said, ‘Pray!' Praise God that He delivered, as He always does. He's faithful, and we were protected from what could have been a lot worse.” CBN's Tré Phillips asked about what lesson Christian viewers could glean. PHILLIPS: “So, what would you say to those of us who want to be, like you were, more attuned to that still, small prompting of the Holy Spirit?” TAYLOR: “To do it. Take that step and be obedient to it, because it truly is the hands and feet, the body of Christ. You get that prompting, and when that obedience flows, this is God in action. “'Wherever two or more gather in My name, I shall be there.' (Matthew 18:20) That's why He uses us in this body of Christ, and that the Holy Spirit dwells within us to prompt us in those moments.” 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “God gave us a spirit, not of fear, but of power and love and self-control.” Send Bill Taylor a 3-sentence email to btaylor@kens5.com, thanking him for boldly praying live on the air for the safety of people in the Texas Hill Country. Or send him a physical letter. This would be a great project for your kids! Bill Taylor, KENS 5 TV, 5400 Fredericksburg Rd, San Antonio, TX 78229. Diane, 7:30 am, February twenty-fourth. Entering town of Twin Peaks. Five miles south of the Canadian border, twelve miles west of the state line. Never seen so many trees in my life. As WC Fields would say, I'd rather be here than Philadelphia. It's fifty-four degrees on a slightly overcast day. Weatherman said rain. If you could get paid that kind of money for being wrong sixty percent of the time it'd beat working. Mileage is 79,345, gauge is on reserve, I'm riding on fumes here, I've got to tank up when I get into town. Remind me to tell you how much that is. Lunch was $6.31 at the Lamplighter Inn. That's on Highway Two near Lewis Fork. That was a tuna fish sandwich on whole wheat, a slice of cherry pie and a cup of coffee. Damn good food. Diane, if you ever get up this way, that cherry pie is worth a stop.Spoiler Warning if you haven't yet seen Twin Peaks.

Episode 394 of RevolutionZ continues the evaluation of the New Left from within begun last episode. This time the focus is the Anti war movement, Weatherman, the Yippees, the Black movement, and the womens movement. The fastest way to break a movement is to let “being technically right” replace getting stronger. Starting with the Vietnam War antiwar movement we ask a painful question: how did a cause with massive public support still end up with thin commitment, divisive splits, and a core that felt unreachable? We talk about the double-bind that shows up in so many protest movements that make opposition easy enough to attract crowds, but make real participation depend on an expanding list of correct positions. That “credentials” culture can turn organizing into a status system that leaves most people peripheral between demonstrations and sets everyone up for demoralization when the standard becomes “did we win now?” We also dig into why the "raise domestic-costs" strategy made sense, and how drama, manipulation, and weak political education kept it from building durable power. From there, we move through Weatherman and the lure of extremist identity, to the Yippies' early creativity and later hardening, the Black Panthers' extraordinary early contributions and how authoritarianism and macho militarism hurt their further development, and the women's movement's historic breakthroughs alongside the reappearance of hierarchy under pressure. The through-line is practical: if we want lasting effective organizations, we need empathy, realistic metrics of progress, a culture of participation, and especially a shared ideology that helps people deal with their baggage and current conditions and that propels learning instead of burning out.Support the show

In this episode of Beyond Rockets, Clark Dunn sits down with legendary Huntsville meteorologist and innovator Bob Baron to unpack a career that helped reshape how we understand and track weather. From his early days in radio to becoming a trusted voice on television, Bob shares how creativity and curiosity led to the creation of his iconic “Weather in Motion” — long before modern graphics existed. But what began as broadcast innovation quickly turned into something much bigger. After the devastating 1989 Huntsville tornado, Bob set out to solve a critical problem: how to deliver faster, more accurate, and more localized severe weather information. That mission led to the founding of Baron Services — a company that pioneered real-time storm tracking, advanced radar technology, and tools that are now used across the country to save lives. This conversation dives into the evolution of weather technology, the responsibility of communicating during crisis moments, and how one idea — built out of a home office — grew into an industry-changing company. It's a story about innovation, impact, and how Huntsville played a key role in shaping the future of weather forecasting.https://baroninstitute.comhttps://baronweather.com

How does he navigate consumers who are upset by inaccurate weather reports, being a local celebrity, data gathering in order to best predict weather and the backlash when the data predicts the wrong outcome! Finally we touch on hair, makeup and wardrobe when TV reporting. I will always trust his predictions when preparing for our crazy CU weather! What starts as a few friendly birthday shoutouts quickly spirals into one of the most chaotic episodes we've had in a while — which, honestly, is saying something. The crew kicks off the show celebrating listeners, family birthdays, and even the 50th anniversary of a St. Louis organization doing incredible work helping people escape abusive situations. It's a rare moment of sincerity before the wheels fall completely off this comedy podcast.Naturally, someone mentions a charcuterie spread from a fancy event, which leads to a surprisingly intense debate about hors d'oeuvres, meatballs, and why nobody on the show can spell French food correctly. But the real turning point happens when the crew realizes it's National Frozen Food Day. Suddenly the entire studio turns into a battlefield as everyone argues about the greatest frozen food of all time. Totino's Pizza Rolls are immediately nominated. Hot Pockets make a strong showing. Eggo waffles somehow get dragged into the conversation. And Stouffer's mac and cheese causes a near mutiny in the studio. The conversation spirals into the weirdest things sitting in everyone's freezer right now — including frost-covered vegetables used exclusively as medical ice packs and emergency Girl Scout cookies that only taste right when frozen.Just when you think the episode couldn't get any stranger, Rafe's weekly E Memoriam segment begins. This week's installment features Rafe explaining that he's been invited to join the Blackfoot Nation and has been given the ceremonial name “Sleep Warrior.” Unfortunately, there's one small problem: he can't cross the Canadian border because of an old DUI. So now his spiritual journey is stuck somewhere between destiny and Canadian border control. Then things somehow escalate even further with a parody musical tribute celebrating Learn's recent surgery — featuring a very questionable Steven Tyler impression and an original song called “No Tubes in That Lady.”It's heartfelt. It's ridiculous. It's absolutely the kind of nonsense you expect from a daily comedy podcast that thrives on chaos, sarcasm, and roasting each other for two and a half hours. And just when you think the show is finally calming down… the crew gets ready to play one of their favorite games: Porn Star or Weatherman.Another perfectly normal day for your favorite comedy podcast.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Recorded: January 26th 2026 | On this episode of Bussin’ With The Boys, Taylor Lewan welcomes Josh “The Weatherman” Pate for a conversation that somehow blends natural disasters with college football chaos — perfectly on brand. The show opens with Taylor breaking down why it is just him on the show as Will is stuck without power and phone service. Josh joins Taylor to breakdown what exactly made Winter Storm Fern so dangerous and catastrophic. He gets into the science behind freezing rain, why it’s so dangerous, and what it means for cities like Nashville when Mother Nature decides to go nuclear. Once the storms pass, it’s time to talk ball. The boys react to the CFP National Championship and give their biggest takeaways from the title game, including what it means for the future of the power balance in college football. They debate whether Indiana’s run is a flash in the pan or a sign of real staying power, and question if Miami is headed for a tougher road than expected next season. To wrap it up, the crew looks ahead at some of the sport’s biggest brands and their outlooks moving forward. Michigan and Alabama both get the microscope as the boys break down expectations, pressure, and what success looks like next year. As well as what it will look like for Ohio State after they hired Arthur Smith and what that move could mean for the Buckeyes offensively. If you are in need of an escape from everything, look no further than here. Come join the boys for a fun hang and fun listen. Please stay safe out there and as always, big hugs tiny kisses.
