Earl speaks with Mike Olson founder of the Truth Chamber, a community initiative he started to engage and support the VFW. They discuss problematic Supreme Court rulings and the impact of dark money in politics that threaten our rights. In breaking news, Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have resulted in over 400 deaths, according to Palestinian health authorities. This escalation ends weeks of relative calm after stalled ceasefire negotiations. Both Israel and Hamas have accused each other of breaching the truce, which had provided a brief respite for Gaza's 2 million residents, where much infrastructure is in ruins. They later reflect back to the term coined by Earl "Poli-Tricksters" with a rigged system to control the template of America and Government. The rule of law is no more and does not matter to anyone especially Trump and his administration. *) Israel, Hezbollah claim victory as Gaza genocide continues Both Israel and Hezbollah are declaring themselves victors after their recent clashes ended with a ceasefire. The Israeli army boasted about crippling Hezbollah's capabilities and eliminating its senior leaders. Meanwhile, Hezbollah framed the conflict as a strong defence against Israel's ground incursion, asserting it stood firm “in support of the steadfast Palestinian people”. Hezbollah also claimed “victory” in the conflict and warned it remains “fully ready” to respond to any future Israeli moves. *) Israel didn't win in Lebanon, truce agreed ‘under duress' — Netanyahu ally A far-right Israeli minister has blasted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government, accusing it of being forced into a ceasefire in Lebanon and failing to defeat Hezbollah. Speaking to Maariv, Israeli Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu didn't mince words, calling the ceasefire terms “terrible” and criticising Israel's dependence on US backing. Eliyahu, from the far-right Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) Party, was particularly critical of the deal, which his party leader, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, opposed in the security cabinet vote. *) Mexico warns Trump's tariffs could destroy 400,000 US jobs Mexico has fired back at President-elect Donald Trump's tariff threats, warning they could boomerang badly on the US economy. Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard cautioned that imposing 25 percent tariffs on Mexican imports would be a costly mistake for US businesses. Citing figures from American car manufacturers with operations in Mexico, Ebrard said “about 400,000 jobs in the US would be lost”. *) Volkswagen to sell operations in China's Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region Volkswagen is cutting ties with its operations in China's Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region amid ongoing allegations of human rights abuses, including forced labour. The German auto giant announced plans to sell its factory in Urumqi, the region's capital, along with a test track in Turpan, to a Chinese firm. A company spokesperson confirmed the sale to Shanghai Motor Vehicle Inspection Center (SMVIC) in a press release issued Wednesday. *) UK counter-terrorism police arrest six over ‘PKK activity' British police said they arrested six suspects and were conducting raids in London as part of a counter-terrorism investigation into links with the banned terrorist PKK organisation. Acting Commander Helen Flanagan said the arrests came after a detailed investigation into activities the British police believed were connected to terrorist activity tied to the PKK. Officers searched eight locations across the city, including a community centre in north London, which has been ordered to close for two weeks.

Daily Dose of Hope October 21, 2024 Day 2 of Week 30 Scripture:  2 Kings 9-10; Psalm 49; Matthew 7 Welcome to the Daily Dose of Hope, the devotional and podcast that complements the New Hope Church Bible reading plan.  Happy Monday!  Let's get into our Scripture for today. We are once again starting in 2 Kings.  When Elijah died, there were a few things that God asked him to do that were left unfinished. Thus, it fell to Elisha to complete these tasks. In 1 Kings 19, the word of the Lord came to Elijah, telling him to anoint Elisha to take his place as prophet of Israel (this occurs later 1 Kings 19), anoint Hazael king over Aram (Elisha ends up completing this in 2 Kings 8), and anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi king over Israel. Elijah also prophecies that Ahab and Jezebel will both be killed and that the lineage of Ahab will be obliterated. In chapter 9, Elisha finishes up the given tasks. Jehu was a commander in King Ahab's army.  Elisha instructs a younger prophet to head to Jehu's camp in Ramoth Gilead (not sure why Elisha doesn't do this himself except that he may have been noticed too easily).  Once there, the prophet was to inform Jehu that he would indeed become the next king of Israel and that this would happen in order to put an end Ahab's line. The prophet announces this to the commander and then exits, leaving Jehu to figure out how this might occur. It appears he doesn't think too long about it because he actively seeks out King Joram (in the line of Ahab) and assassinates him. Both Israel and Judah were at war with Aram. When Jehu finds King Joram of Israel, King Ahaziah of Judah was with him. With no hesitation, Jehu kills them both with his bow. This means that both nations are stripped of their leaders, creating a dangerous power vacuum. At the end of the chapter, Jezebel is also killed and her body is eaten by the wild dogs, so badly marred that she could not receive a proper burial. And it is done, the prophecy is fulfilled. In the very next chapter, Ahead is killed, along with the prophets on Baal. Matthew 7 is our New Testament reading.  The Sermon on the Mount closes with a serious spiritual warning about faith in Jesus. The wise person is the one who hears the words of Jesus and heeds them. The result of this kind of obedience is security. The house does not fall because it is built on a strong, solid, unwavering foundation in Jesus. That doesn't mean the house won't be knocked around a bit by the weather events of life but it will NOT fall down. On the other hand, the foolish person is one who hears the words of Jesus and does not heed them. That person builds their house on sand and we all know what happens to sand when a terrible storm comes–erosion! Sand is not a solid foundation. The result of a life built on anything other than Jesus is erosion/destruction. The teachings of the Sermon on the Mount provide followers of Jesus with wonderful practical guidance on what it looks like to be his disciple. This final teaching, as hard as it is, sums it all up–a life built on the solid foundation of Jesus yields safety and eternal security. A person who chooses to build their life on worldly security will ultimately face death and destruction. There really isn't a way to sugar coat this and frankly, we should not even try. Jesus speaks with great clarity–we have a choice. What do you choose? Blessings, Pastor Vicki

God's Promises Are Greater Than Your Plans | 1 Samuel 4:5-11

God's promises are greater than your plans. Welcome to the Daily Devo. I am Vince Miller. This week, we are reading 1 Samuel 4. I've titled this chapter "Misusing Divine Power." In the first few verses of Chapter 4, we discover that the Israelites were at war with the Philistines. They engaged in a short battle between the towns of Ebenezer and Aphek. They sustained some losses, and then they got the crafty idea to bring the Ark of God to battle, so let's see how that turns out in the next reading, verses 5-11: As soon as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel gave a mighty shout, so that the earth resounded. And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shouting, they said, “What does this great shouting in the camp of the Hebrews mean?” And when they learned that the ark of the Lord had come to the camp, the Philistines were afraid, for they said, “A god has come into the camp.” And they said, “Woe to us! For nothing like this has happened before. Woe to us! Who can deliver us from the power of these mighty gods? These are the gods who struck the Egyptians with every sort of plague in the wilderness. Take courage, and be men, O Philistines, lest you become slaves to the Hebrews as they have been to you; be men and fight.” So the Philistines fought, and Israel was defeated, and they fled, every man to his home. And there was a very great slaughter, for thirty thousand foot soldiers of Israel fell. And the ark of God was captured, and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, died. — 1 Samuel 4:5-11 Man Up And Fight As we can see, there was initial excitement about the idea. Even the Philistines were initially frightened by the understanding of how God had defeated an empire in Egypt that was far greater than them. But then the Philistines rally, resulting in a raging slaughter with 30,000 dead, and the ark is compromised. I find it especially interesting that if you look at this situation only from the perspective of the Philistines, you would be convinced that the victory resulted from courage in facing adversity and their resolve to "be men and fight." But we know it wasn't. This situation fulfilled the prophecy spoken by Samuel, stemming from the disobedience of Eli and his sons. God determined the outcome of this battle, not the Philistines or their courage. And because Israel had not trusted in God's power and tried to use his power for their pleasure, he was going to display his power without them. Limited Perspectives Make Wrong Deductions Humanity often has a limited perspective on God's plans. We can only see immediate events, so we make deductions based on what we can see. When we cannot see God's plans, we sometimes become uneasy. Instead of trusting God by faith and obeying him, we take matters into our own hands. In doing so, we justify our actions and make natural human deductions that do not align with God's intentions. Like the Philistines and the Israelites, we may think we need to "man up and fight." While this approach could lead to an occasional victory, it can also result in catastrophic failure. Regardless of the outcome, we must recognize that our deductions and connections may not necessarily be correct, even if we have manned up and fought. Both Israel and the Philistines were about to learn a hard lesson: God's promises are greater than their battle plans. God's Promises Versus Your Plans You have plans. You have career plans, financial plans, marital plans, family plans, and retirement plans. You battle for these plans. Sometimes, you think you need to put in more effort and fight harder. But occasionally, your plans will contest God's promises. Given your limited perspective, you will mistakenly think fight harder. Sometimes, you might win and wrongly think you did it, mustering more courage for another fight. Sometimes, you will lose, causing you to reflect and change course. Before you man up and fight, here are four preliminary actions: Immerse yourself in God's promises. Let God's promises inform your perspective and plans. Be obedient. Trust by faith. Then, man up and fight. If you don't do this first, you will only end up fighting against God, and no man can man up, fight, and win against God's promises. #GodsPromises #TrustHisPlan #FaithOverFear Ask This: How can you discern between your own plans and God's promises in your daily decisions and pursuits? What steps can you take to cultivate a deeper trust in God's promises, even when faced with uncertainty or adversity? Do This: Do all four actions. Pray This: Father, help me to surrender my plans to Your promises, trusting in Your wisdom and sovereignty over my life. Grant me the courage and faith to follow Your lead, even when it requires letting go of my own understanding. Amen. Play This: God of the Promise.

Thank you.  Support the podcast by becoming a member => LauraFlanders.org/donateDescription: The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations 75 years ago this December, as was the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. But that same year also saw the institutionalization of apartheid in South Africa, and the Palestine War or Nakba which displaced hundreds of thousands of Palestinian Arabs in the course of creating the state of Israel. What does it mean to commemorate this anniversary in a time of genocide and gross violation of human rights — particularly in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas? Until recently, Craig Mokhiber was the director in the New York Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), where he had served since 1992. A specialist in international human rights law, policy, and methodology, he worked through genocides against Tutsis in Rwanda, Muslims in Bosnia, Yazidis in Iraq, and Rohingya in Myanmar. In his resignation letter, sent October 28th this year, he wrote, “Once again, we are seeing a genocide unfolding before our eyes, and the organization that we serve appears powerless to stop it.” Both Israel and Hamas have now been accused of committing gross violations of human rights in their current conflict, including acts of genocide. But what exactly is genocide? And what is the responsibility of the world to stop it? In this timely episode, Laura and Mokhiber explore the promise of the Universal Declaration and ask how we can honor this historic achievement while also acknowledging the hypocrisies of 1948 — and now. What can be learned from the South African experience that might offer a way forward for peace with justice for Israelis and Palestinians? All that and a commentary from Laura on what it takes for us to recognize one another's humanity.Guest:  Craig Mokhiber: Human Rights Lawyer, Former Senior United Nations OfficialFull Episode Notes are located HERE.  They include related episodes, articles, and more.

All that and a commentary from Laura on what it takes for us to recognize one another's humanity.“Israel is responsible for its own crimes. That responsibility does not extend to Jewish people around the world and certainly not to those who are standing up to say that this is not in their name.” - Craig Mokhiber“We want to see justice for victims and accountability for perpetrators, but we want it to be done peacefully. And what are the peaceful means? We have legal action, we have political action, we have mass mobilizations, we have divestments, we have boycotts.” - Craig MokhiberGuest:  Craig Mokhiber: Human Rights Lawyer, Former Senior United Nations Official Full Episode Notes are located HERE.  They include related episodes, articles, and more.Music In the Middle:  Funk 4 Peace by Fort Knox Five from their album Radio Free DC courtesy of Fort Know Recordings.  Additional music included- "Steppin," by Podington Bear.

SERIES 2 EPISODE 56: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: Trump may have a new problem in his civil fraud trial in New York. As the folks at Meidas Touch sleuthed, he has re-posted a piece by the loathsome Laura Loomer that appears to give an address for New York State Attorney General Letitia James. This isn't specifically covered under the gag order imposed against Trump by Judge Arthur Engoron, but it underscores the point that it should be. And it further underscores that both Judge Engoron and Judge Tanya Chutkan should try to expand their gag orders to include any such threats or stochastic invasions of the lives of the primary figures in ALL the legal cases against Trump. His only skill is finding where the line is, and how it moves. The judiciary needs to be proactive against him, not meek. And unfortunately Judge Chutkan's written version of HER gag order is devoid of any reference to which sanctions she'll impose when Trump finally violates it. There is, naturally, a connection to the lies and the world of delusion of Trump and his supporters, and the nightmare at the Gaza City hospital yesterday. Technology will probably - sooner or later - tell us whether Israel or Hamas did this, and then lied about it and successfully blamed the other. It may even tell us about the small chance the location of the carnage might have been inadvertent. But what this horror really tells us is where the Trump Lies lead and end, and how we must fight them because the imaginary world requires absolute fealty and ultimately the willingness to kill rather than admit you are wrong. You know it's been a bad day when Jim Jordan's wipeout in the Speaker voice, and what Elise Stefanik said about him that she THOUGHT would help, turns out to be the humorous relief. B-Block (22:12) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Who could have seen this coming? Britain's Conservatives expel member accused of sexual harassment and exposure. His name is Peter Bone. The Washington Post does a Jim Jordan profile without mentioning January 6th or the subpoena he skipped. And a professor at my alma mater says something so inhuman and stupid about the Middle East that supporters of BOTH Israel and Hamas should be offended - and he should be fired. C-Block (27:20) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: It was the first item I checked on my bucket list. I was 10. In this episode, Zen chats with Rev. Dr. Marcus Jerkins about his book, Black Lives Matter to Jesus: The Salvation of Black Life and All Life in Luke and Acts. The book explores the significance of Black characters in the theological story of salvation told throughout Luke and Acts. Here's the books blurb: ############## The third evangelist makes Black-skinned people central to his claim in Luke and Acts that the gospel of Jesus is restoring the children of God. Within Luke's literary environment, the identity of the children of God was linked to national/ethnic identity. Many Jewish texts argued for the Jews' position as God's children because they are bound to God by covenant; they are God's firstborn. But there is also a more general sense within this tradition that all human beings are made in the image of God and are, thus, the children of God through Adam. In the Gospel, Luke asserts that all nations and all ethnicities, including Israel, have questionable filial status vis-à-vis God. Both Israel and the nations are restored in status as God's children through Jesus, the Son of God. In Acts, Luke explores the initial return of Israel and all ethnicities to God through the witness of the church empowered by the Spirit. To epitomize the return of all nations to God, Luke narrates the salvation of Black-skinned Africans. These Black lives are emphasized to signify that their representation in the church demonstrates the universal extent to which the salvation of Jesus Christ will reach. Their presence in the church is also meant to dignify their Black skin against an aesthetic bias that was prevalent in Greco-Roman views at that moment. This subversion of ethnographic bias helped Luke's audience sustain a gospel-centered critique against the devaluation of Black life. ############## Marcus Jerkins earned his PhD in Religion from Baylor University. He also holds a BA from Emory as well as a MDiv and ThM from Candler. He serves as pastor to Resurrection Baptist Church in Silver Spring, MD and adjuncts at Northern Seminary. He and Courtney, his wife of 14 years, have three beautiful children. Here's the full quote and video from Megyn Kelly about Jesus being white. "Just because it makes you feel uncomfortable doesn't mean it has to change...Jesus was a white man, too. It's like we have, he's a historical figure that's a verifiable fact, as is Santa, I just want kids to know that. How do you revise it in the middle of the legacy in the story and change Santa from white to black?"

The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom…they will see the glory of the Lord…And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there, and those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away (Isaiah 35:1,2,8-10). "You transplanted a vine from Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it. You cleared the ground for it, and it took root and filled the land. The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches. Its branches reached as far as the Sea, its shoots as far as the River” (Psalm 80:9-10). So sings the psalmist attempting to capture God's relationship with Israel. This is no legal contract but a dance of lovers. However, the beloved perpetually dances away to find other partners. Yet, God pursues Israel to win her back, lavishing her with gifts, causing her to flourish. As she flourishes, Israel is to be generous, passing on the gifts of God. She is to “act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with [her] God” (Micah 6:8). Yet she rarely does. In exasperation God asks, “When I looked for good grapes, why did it yield only bad?” (Isaiah 5:4). Isaiah is comparing Israel to a vineyard that God has lovingly and tenderly planted and cared for. He concludes, God “looked for justice, but saw bloodshed; for righteousness, but heard cries of distress” (5:7). Because of her propensity to go after other lovers, God determines to use those same lovers to strip her bare. They will ruin and plunder her and carry her into exile. The vineyard will become a wasteland, a wilderness. She will be dry, harsh, and dangerous. Travellers will go around her rather than face her hostile conditions. Yet, God will not abandon her. Instead, he will punish these so-called lovers for going too far, for taking a perverted joy in plundering and demeaning Israel, God's beloved. As they laid Israel waste, he will lay them waste. This is where our text picks up the story. Both Israel and her lovers, turned enemies, have been laid waste. What hope is left? Now Isaiah pictures the desert bursting into bloom. God has once more come to the aid of his people, his beloved to deliver her, to restore her (5:4). Israel is pictured returning to Zion, the city in which God dwells with his people. As she travels, the desert returns to life, discouraged people are lifted and the broken are healed. They will all see the glory of the Lord. Judah was heading towards exile. They needed a word of hope to sustain them, so they would not give in to despair. As a TV character recently said, “Hope is never mere, even if it is meager.” To bolster Israel's meager hope, God offers this vision. And John echoes it when he writes, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). As we trace Jesus' ministry on earth, we see elements of Isaiah's vision fulfilled: the blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk, the hungry are fed. The wilderness blooms. Yet, when we look around at our world, it seems more desert like than a flourishing vineyard. When our hope flags, we need to return to Isaiah 35, to remember that hope is never mere. As God promised to redeem Israel from exile, Jesus promised that he would return. And even as he tarries, the Holy Spirit whispers in our hearts, “All will be well.”

Dave Brisbin 10.30.22 It doesn't take a prophet or a genius to see that the world is on a collision course with something out there. That everything can't continue at this speed indefinitely. It's a scary realization, and when we get scared, we start looking for something certain on which to stand. Which means I've been getting questions again on whether we are in the end times, whether the scriptures that describe them are true and when they will play out. Short answer: I don't know. Longer answer: no one can possibly know, no matter their years of study or absolute certainty. Jesus tells us flat out that no one knows the day or hour when such end times will occur—not the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. Couldn't be more blunt, but Jesus gives a clue here that can help us make sense of apocalyptic passages. Fear drives us to imagine certainty, some illusion of control, missing that the purpose of these passages is not what—the certainty we crave—but how to live in uncertain times. Prophetic books tell us how to live to avert disaster; apocalyptic books tell us how to live after the disaster has occurred with continued hope and faith. When Jesus says the Father alone knows, that he will not drink another cup of wine until he returns, that he goes to prepare a place for us and promises to return with the blast of a trumpet, his way lit by the lamps of heaven to snatch us and lift us up to his Father's house—he is using images from the Hebrew wedding tradition to show us how to live in uncertain times. A Hebrew bride must live the year or more between her betrothal and consummation anticipating being carried away at any moment to her new life while relishing every moment of the only life she has ever known. Both Israel and the church have always seen themselves as brides of God—all human history and each individual life lived between betrothal at birth and consummation at death, between heaven and earth, now and not yet. We can't know when or what, and that terrifies us, but we have been given how. How to live without fear. It's all we can know with certainty, but with trust it's all we need.

Wednesday, 19 October 2022   And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision contended with him, Acts 11:2   Previously, it was noted that the apostles and brethren in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God. Exciting news indeed. With that noted, it now says, “And when Peter came up to Jerusalem.” It had previously said that Cornelius had asked Peter to stay a few days (Acts 10:48). It is after this unstated amount of time that Peter now went up to Jerusalem. This is where the apostles stayed and tended to the affairs of the believers.   Upon arriving in Jerusalem, it next says “those of the circumcision contended with him.” The words seem out of place. As the only non-circumcised believers so far mentioned were either in Ethiopia or Caesarea, every other believer is, by default, a circumcised Jew. Therefore, there must be a reason why they are singled out as “the circumcision.”   The reason for the contention is not stated until the next verse, and so it is getting ahead in the analysis to debate exactly what that means, but it is necessary now. There are several possibilities for Luke recording it this way:   They are those mentioned in Acts 10:45 who went with Peter and saw the conversion of the Gentiles. There, they are called “those of the circumcision.” Peter stayed while they left, returning with the news throughout Judea even to Jerusalem. It is referring to any Jew (born as a Jew or converted to Judaism) who had converted to faith in Jesus as the Messiah, and they are simply being noted in a different category than the other Jews. They are those Jews who had converted to faith in Jesus but who were adamant about the necessity for continued observance of the law and of the rites of conversion, such as circumcision. Luke is now using the term in a new manner, setting a distinction between any circumcised person and any non-circumcised person. This distinction is set to define who is a Jew and who is a Gentile, regardless of how they conduct their life, even if the matter of circumcision in a non-believing Jew needs to be more fully explained later.   In short, and which will be evaluated again in the next verse, they believe Peter defiled himself by going in with those who were uncircumcised. Understanding this, the first option is wrong. Those who went with Peter were privy to the details of his trance and they were certainly aware of what had transpired afterward. It is not sound to think they would argue against Peter concerning a matter they were also intimately involved in.   The second option is incorrect because it would make an improper distinction between those Jews who believed and those who did not. The issue is physical circumcision, not the spiritual circumcision of the heart referred to elsewhere in Scripture.   The third option is a distinction that seems to be referred to elsewhere, such as in Galatians 2 –   “Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed; 12 for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. 13 And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.” Galatians 2:11-13   This is seen in Acts 11:2 as well. Thus, it appears that a distinction is being made by separating Peter and those with him from a group that is adamant about adherence to the law by calling them “the circumcision.” But that is a point of theology based on their status as circumcised Jews, not a separate category altogether. This is certain because Peter is specifically noted as an apostle to those who are circumcised in Galatians 2 –   “But from those who seemed to be something—whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows personal favoritism to no man—for those who seemed to be something added nothing to me. 7 But on the contrary, when they saw that the gospel for the uncircumcised had been committed to me, as the gospel for the circumcised was to Peter 8 (for He who worked effectively in Peter for the apostleship to the circumcised also worked effectively in me toward the Gentiles), 9 and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. 10 They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also was eager to do.” Galatians 2:6-10   Understanding this, and also understanding that the term can later be applied to the third category, but at this early date before the matter is settled, the answer to who “the circumcision” is that Luke is referring to in Acts 11:2, the fourth option is correct. It is a term that is now being used in order to distinguish between any person who is circumcised according to the cultural standards of Israel, expressly setting them apart from the Gentile world. This is certain because Paul says this in Colossian 4 –   “Aristarchus my fellow prisoner greets you, with Mark the cousin of Barnabas (about whom you received instructions: if he comes to you, welcome him), 11 and Jesus who is called Justus. These are my only fellow workers for the kingdom of God who are of the circumcision; they have proved to be a comfort to me.” Colossians 4:10, 11   Paul makes a distinction between who is circumcised as a Jew and who is not, meaning they are Gentiles, in his epistle. A separate category of who is a “true Jew” is defined by Paul in the book of Romans, but that is a theological argument which is still based on the physical mark of circumcision in relation to the spiritual “circumcision of the heart” that is also required to be in a right standing with God.   Life application: The physical circumcision of the Jewish people sets them apart from the Gentile world. Just because most Jews do not believe in Messiah, and thus they are not currently in a right standing with God, it does not mean that they are not Jews. They are just not completed Jews. They remain separate from God in one manner (failure to enter into the New Covenant), but they remain united to God in another (bound to Him through the Mosaic Covenant).   The lack of faithfulness of the Jewish nation (meaning Israel) to come to Jesus Christ does not negate God's having covenanted with them through Moses. His words to them will be performed. They will be brought into the New Covenant.   However, until they do come to Him through Jesus, they will continue to suffer the consequences of their agreement to the Mosaic Code. They are bound to it, even if they do not adhere to it. God bound Himself to it as well. Israel's unfaithfulness in no way negates God's faithfulness. This is the main error in thinking for most of the church. Both Israel and the church will eventually learn that God's promises and His election will stand.   Heavenly Father, how faithful You are. When we fail You, it is a mark against us. But You will never fail us. Your faithfulness reaches to the skies and Your love and tender mercies to the objects of Your affection are never-ending. Thank You for Your tender care of Your unfaithful creatures. Amen.

Jeremiah 11 NIVThe Covenant Is Broken1 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2 “Listen to the terms of this covenant and tell them to the people of Judah and to those who live in Jerusalem. 3 Tell them that this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Cursed is the one who does not obey the terms of this covenant— 4 the terms I commanded your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, out of the iron-smelting furnace.' I said, ‘Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God. 5 Then I will fulfill the oath I swore to your ancestors, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey'—the land you possess today.”I answered, “Amen, Lord.”6 The Lord said to me, “Proclaim all these words in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem: ‘Listen to the terms of this covenant and follow them. 7 From the time I brought your ancestors up from Egypt until today, I warned them again and again, saying, “Obey me.” 8 But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubbornness of their evil hearts. So I brought on them all the curses of the covenant I had commanded them to follow but that they did not keep.'”9 Then the Lord said to me, “There is a conspiracy among the people of Judah and those who live in Jerusalem. 10 They have returned to the sins of their ancestors, who refused to listen to my words. They have followed other gods to serve them. Both Israel and Judah have broken the covenant I made with their ancestors. 11 Therefore this is what the Lord says: ‘I will bring on them a disaster they cannot escape. Although they cry out to me, I will not listen to them. 12 The towns of Judah and the people of Jerusalem will go and cry out to the gods to whom they burn incense, but they will not help them at all when disaster strikes. 13 You, Judah, have as many gods as you have towns; and the altars you have set up to burn incense to that shameful god Baal are as many as the streets of Jerusalem.'14 “Do not pray for this people or offer any plea or petition for them, because I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their distress.15 “What is my beloved doing in my temple as she, with many others, works out her evil schemes? Can consecrated meat avert your punishment? When you engage in your wickedness, then you rejoice.[a]”16 The Lord called you a thriving olive tree with fruit beautiful in form. But with the roar of a mighty storm he will set it on fire, and its branches will be broken.17 The Lord Almighty, who planted you, has decreed disaster for you, because the people of both Israel and Judah have done evil and aroused my anger by burning incense to Baal.Plot Against Jeremiah18 Because the Lord revealed their plot to me, I knew it, for at that time he showed me what they were doing. 19 I had been like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter; I did not realize that they had plotted against me, saying,“Let us destroy the tree and its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more.”20 But you, Lord Almighty, who judge righteously and test the heart and mind, let me see your vengeance on them, for to you I have committed my cause.21 Therefore this is what the Lord says about the people of Anathoth who are threatening to kill you, saying, “Do not prophesy in the name of the Lord or you will die by our hands”— 22 therefore this is what the Lord Almighty says: “I will punish them. Their young men will die by the sword, their sons and daughters by famine. 23 Not even a remnant will be left to them, because I will bring disaster on the people of Anathoth in the year of their punishment.”Footnotes[a] Jeremiah 11:15 Or Could consecrated meat avert your punishment? / Then you would rejoiceJeremiah 12 NIVJeremiah's Complaint1 You are always righteous, Lord, when I bring a case before you.Yet I would speak with you about your justice: Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Both Israel in the North and Judah in the South begin their descent into judgment. Israel's kingdom declines much more quickly with betrayal after betrayal leading to a number of separate dynasties. The Davidic Dynasty in Judah remains intact, but even the Davidic Kings display a departure from God's ordinances. Idolatry, treachery, and assassination plague these succeeding generations of God's once-holy people.

When all restrictions are lifted in a highly vaccinated country, how manageable is the coronavirus? Both Israel and UK's experiments to do just that, have raised new worries about raising the risk of new vaccine resistant variants. Claudia Hammond and her panel of global experts consider our ability to predict how and when variants of concern are most likely to arise and how long our repertoire of vaccines can remain effective in riding out increasingly infectious waves of the virus. Also in the programme - does anyone need a third “booster” dose or is it more important to make sure the whole world gets their first two doses instead? And as more people in the world get vaccinated every day, can we get to a situation where the virus is kept in check, without the huge surges in cases that overwhelm hospitals? Listeners put their questions about coronavirus and the pandemic directly to Claudia and her panel of specialists which includes Professor Salim Abdool Karim - a clinical infectious disease epidemiologist and a Member of the African Task Force on Coronavirus; Dr Natalia Freund a leading immunologist at Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University; Adam Finn, professor of paediatrics at the Bristol Children's Vaccine Centre, University of Bristol, and a member of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation that advises UK health departments on immunisation, and Dr Muge Cevik, who's a medical doctor and clinical lecturer in infectious diseases and medical virology at the University of St Andrew's in Scotland. Hosea: God's Loyal Love

Study Notes Ed Underwood Hosea: God’s Loyal Love I will heal their waywardness and love them freely (Hosea 14:4). The seventeen Books of Prophecy record the messages of the writing prophets (those whose messages are preserved in writing) God raised up to speak for him following the ministries of the prophets Elijah and Elisha. The failings of the Divided Kingdom Era prompted God to speak to Israel in the north and Judah in the south. They continued to speak to God’s people for over 400 years, including the exile to Babylonia and the return to the Promise Land. (1 Kings 12-Esther) The prophets spoke for God to His people concerning the enforcement of terms of their covenant relationship with God. Each spoke to a specific generation of Israel or Judah to enforce the conditional covenant (Mosaic) in the context of the unconditional covenants flowing from the Abrahamic Covenant. Their message can be summed up in these sentences: You are mine! (Unconditional covenants, Romans 11:29). Walk with me and I will bless you. Walk away from me and I will call you back to myself through loving discipline (Conditional covenant, Romans 9-11). Hosea’s prophetic career began near the end of a time of great economic prosperity and military success for both Israel and Judah. His primary ministry was to the northern kingdom of Israel during the reign of her greatest king, Jeroboam II. However, Assyrian influence began to strengthen under Tiglath-pileser III, who conquered Israel in 722 B.C. The reigns of Israel’s last five illegitimate kings (usurpers to the throne of the line of Jehu, 2 Kings 10:30; 15:12) were short-lived and confused. Chaos and weakness characterized these last years of the northern kingdom. Still, her people refused to heed Hosea’s warning of imminent judgment. The people were in a spiritual daze, filled with sin and idolatry. Hosea’s ministry to Israel parallels the coming ministry of Jeremiah to the southern kingdom of Judah. Like Jeremiah, Hosea relates God’s deep sorrow over the state of the people and the nation He loves. Israel is God’s silly dove (7:11) refusing to repent (4:1), and it breaks God’s heart to discipline her (chapter 11). The personal tragedy of a marital unfaithfulness becomes a powerful illustration of the greater tragedy of a nation in rebellion against her God. It’s a story of loyal love—between the prophet Hosea and his adulterous wife, Gomer, and between God and His idolatrous people, Israel. Just as Gomer breaks Hosea’s heart by playing the harlot, Israel breaks the heart of her God as she spurns His love. But unconditional love is the theme: Just as Hosea buys his wife out of slavery, God will redeem and restore His people— after a time of purifying punishment. Unconditional love keeps seeking even after it is rejected. Hosea, whose name means salvation, is a prophet from the northern kingdom of Israel, often called Ephraim because that was the dominant tribe in the north as Judah was in the south. He writes with the detail and passion of a native eyewitness to the demise of Israel. “In no prophet is the love of God more clearly demarcated and illustrated than in Hosea” (Walter C. Kaiser Jr., Toward an Old Testament Theology, p. 197). Hosea was written to encourage the adulterous northern kingdom to repent by demonstrating God’s loyal love for His people in Hosea’s marriage and his message. God passionately pursues His unfaithful people. Though His loyal love never ignores unfaithfulness (chapter 3), He never abandons nor stops pursuing the unfaithful (5:14-6:1): “The great illustration of how committed God is to His people is how He instructed Hosea to relate to his unfaithful wife. The Lord will not forsake those with whom He has joined in covenant commitment even if they become unfaithful to Him repeatedly. He will be patient with them and eventually save them (11:1-4; 14)” (Tom Constable, Hosea, p. 4). I. HOSEA’S MARRIAGE—THE GREAT ILLUSTRATION OF LOYAL LOVE: Hosea marries a woman named Gomer whose behavior is a painful, living object lesson to the prophet as God prepares him to speak words of warning and love to the northern kingdom. (1-3) Hosea: The Lord’s loyal love never stops pursuing those who are His! PROPHETIC MARRIAGE: Gomer bears Hosea three children appropriately named by God as signs to Israel. Jezreel, Lo-Ruhamah, and Lo-Ammi mean “God Scatters,” “Not Pitied,” and “Not My People.” Similarly, God will judge and scatter Israel because of her sin. (1:1-2:1) PICTURE OF ISRAEL: Gomer seeks other lovers and deserts Hosea just as Israel has sought idols and deserted God. (2:2-23) C. LOYAL LOVE: Hosea illustrates God’s love for Israel by buying or redeeming her from the slave market and restoring her. (3) II. HOSEA’S MESSAGE—THE GREAT TRUTH OF LOYAL LOVE: Because of his own painful experience, Hosea can feel some of the sorrow of God over the sinfulness of His people. Though Hosea’s love for Gomer pictures God’s love for Israel, Israel has fallen to such a depraved state that judgment is inevitable. (4-14) ISRAEL’S SPIRITUAL ADULTERY: The sins are evident. Having rejected the knowledge of God, they have spiraled into idolatry. Though judgment is imminent, God will restore His adulterous people. (4-6:3) ISRAEL’S REFUSAL TO REPENT: Even now God wants to heal and redeem them (7:1, 13), but in their arrogance and idolatry they rebel. (6:4-8:14) ISRAEL’S JUDGMENT FROM GOD: Israel will suffer dispersion, barrenness and destruction. (9-10) D. ISRAEL’S RESTORATION TO GOD God is holy (4-7) and just (8-10), but He is also loving and gracious (11-14). God must discipline, but because of His endless love, He will ultimately save and restore His wayward people. (11:18; 14:4) HOSEA AND YOU: God’s loyal love is the bedrock of a believer’s assurance that we belong to Him and his/her primary motivator to worship Him. Hosea’slifeandwritingsillustrateandteachGod’sloyalloveforthosewhobelongtoHim.God’sloyal love is the basis of our assurance as Christians. All those rightly related to God through faith in His message concerning salvation are secure in their relationship with Him. He will never revoke His promises (Romans 11:29) to Israel or to the New Testament believer (Ephesians 1:1-14; Titus 3:5). Eternal security rests in the faithfulness of God to His promise. Assurance occurs when the one who belongs to God believes he or she is secure based upon the promises and loyal love of God (1 John 5:11-13). Worship is a response to God’s loyal love from an undeserving heart (Romans 12:1-2). The Bible consistently compares worship of God to marital love, and Hosea teaches us that we’re all unfaithful “Gomers” being loved loyally by our faithful God (Ephesians 2:4-10). Messiah: Matthew 2:15 applies chapter 11, verse 1, to Christ in Egypt. Matthew quotes the second half of this verse to show that the Exodus of Israel from Egypt as a new nation was a prophetic type of Israel’s Messiah who was also called out of Egypt in His childhood. Both Israel and Christ left Palestine to take refuge in Egypt. Christ’s identification with our plight and His loving work of redemption can be seen in Hosea’s redemption of Gomer from the slave market.

Dear friends. Up to now, we have seen how disappointing the people of Israel is and how they PRETEND to praise God. It struck me I was like them, hopeless and Unredeemable. Through Psalm 78: 42-55, we know two endings for people in this world and one person who took our ending and lived our life. Both Israel and the Egyptians deserve an ending of judgment, even worse than the 10 plagues. However, God delivered the people of Israel who were rebellious as human beings could be. God remembered the covenant with them and delivered them from there deserved ending by punishing Egyptians. God never changes. There are always two endings. All our endings are like the Egyptians. We are all UNredeemble. But God prepared Jesus to live our life and live our ending. He was faithful unto death. It was through his punishment we are saved. One ending for all who believe in Jesus and confess him as the Lord. Nothing as wondrous as this gospel. Friends. Be blessed. Malachi 1:1-5 v. 1. Malachi was a prophet to the Jews who returned to Jerusalem. He was a contemporary of Nehemiah and Ezra. The Israelites had sinned, been taken into exile in Babylon as judgment God kept his covenant promises and allowed them to return to Jerusalem But a spiritual apathy has set in. There was decay in their worship, in their marriages, in their finances. v. 2. There are 23 questions in Malachi – Socratic dialectic God faithful covenant love God’s love for his people is substantiated through his declaration. Asking questions of someone so they think through their position and come to a conclusion on their own instead of a teacher just speaking. God declares – “I have (always) loved you” – perfect tense – completed action with continued ramifications. The people asked, “how have you loved us?” It seemed to them God had not kept his promise to restore them. God reminds them his love for Israel motivated him to choose Israel as his people. “loved / hated” have to be understood in covenant terms, chosen / not chosen. Since God chose Jacob, he loved him. Since God did not choose Esau, he hated him. God went against convention by choosing the younger to inherit his promises. God’s love for his people is substantiated through his election. vv. 3-5 – Both Israel and Edom were destroyed. God allowed Israel to return, to be re-built; while he let Edom remain ruins. God is saying, in love, I made a covenant to you to be faithful to you. I am still keeping my covenant with you, my love for you is faithful. Application: we go through times when we doubt God’s love. We struggle to believe that he is faithful when we suffer. “How do I know God loves me?” God has declared his love for us. “God demonstrates his love for us in this; while we were still sinners, Christ die for us.” - Romans 5:8 The cross stands as a historical landmark, a bold declaration: God has loved us. God chose us out of his love for us. Ephesians 1:3-6 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. Malachi 1:6-14 – The people are bringing blind or lame or sick animals for sacrifice. And the priests are allowing it! vv. 11-12. “My name will be great among the nations, but you profane it!” v. 13 – priests say about their ministry of worship – “what weariness!” God despises apathetic, half-hearted, lukewarm worship. He tells the Israelites, if you’re going to apathetic about this, I’d rather you didn’t pray or offer sacrifices. I wish someone would just close the doors of the temple. Revelation 3:15-16 15 “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot!16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. v. 14. God calls the man who brings his second best for worship “a cheat.” God is worthy of whole-hearted, devoted, excellent worship. “I am a great King, says the Lord of Hosts, and my name will be feared among the nations.”

New International Version (NIV)This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Listen to the terms of this covenant and tell them to the people of Judah and to those who live in Jerusalem.Tell them that this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Cursed is the one who does not obey the terms of this covenant— the terms I commanded your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, out of the iron-smelting furnace.’ I said, ‘Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God. Then I will fulfill the oath I swore to your ancestors, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey’—the land you possess today.”I answered, “Amen, Lord.”The Lord said to me, “Proclaim all these words in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem: ‘Listen to the terms of this covenant and follow them. From the time I brought your ancestors up from Egypt until today, I warned them again and again, saying, “Obey me.” But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubbornness of their evil hearts. So I brought on them all the curses of the covenant I had commanded them to follow but that they did not keep.’”Then the Lord said to me, “There is a conspiracy among the people of Judah and those who live in Jerusalem. They have returned to the sins of their ancestors, who refused to listen to my words. They have followed other gods to serve them. Both Israel and Judah have broken the covenant I made with their ancestors. Therefore this is what the Lord says: ‘I will bring on them a disaster they cannot escape.Although they cry out to me, I will not listen to them. The towns of Judah and the people of Jerusalem will go and cry out to the gods to whom they burn incense, but they will not help them at all when disaster strikes. You, Judah, have as many gods as you have towns; and the altars you have set up to burn incense to that shameful god Baal are as many as the streets of Jerusalem.’“Do not pray for this people or offer any plea or petition for them, because I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their distress.“What is my beloved doing in my temple as she, with many others, works out her evil schemes? Can consecrated meat avert your punishment? When you engage in your wickedness, then you rejoice.”The Lord called you a thriving olive tree with fruit beautiful in form. But with the roar of a mighty storm he will set it on fire, and its branches will be broken. The Lord Almighty, who planted you, has decreed disaster for you, because the people of both Israel and Judah have done evil and aroused my anger by burning incense to Baal.

Unsolved Mysteries of the World

September 22, 1979, there was an incident in the South Atlantic, between South Africa and the Antarctic that today remains a mystery. The incident involves international politics, aeriel phenomenon, cold war satellites, Russian Spies, Secrets and Conspiracies. The incident was so alarming that it was investigated by multiple countries and yet, today, most of these countries remain in the dark about what really happened. This is Unsolved Mysteries of the World Season Three Episode 9 Alert 747On the night of September 22, 1979, a U.S. Vela satellite, designed and used for spotting nuclear tests, detected a flash that the U.S. Intelligence Community located somewhere in the South Atlantic area. Using other satellites they pinpointed the region and immediately began a threat assessment operation. In 1963, the Partial Nuclear Test Ban Treaty banned all test detonations of nuclear weapons on the ground, in the earth’s atmosphere, under water, and in outer space. Underground detonations were not banned, so any nation that wanted to conduct a test detonation was allowed to do that deep beneath the surface of the Earth. The Test Ban Treaty was a result of a growing worldwide anxiety over nuclear fallout, the clear devastating consequences of nuclear explosions. From 1951 to 1958, approximately 270 nuclear tests were conducted by the U.S., the Soviet Union, and Great Britain, and only 22 of those test were conducted underground. In the same year that the treaty was implemented, the U.S. launched two satellites as a part of the Vela program. Its purpose was to monitor the Earth’s atmosphere and search for signs of illegal nuclear activity. Aside from employing a vast array of sensors that could measure the amount of nuclear fallout in the atmosphere and detect detonations across the globe, the satellites were also equipped with powerful instruments that were used to study various extra-galactic phenomena. In fact, the Vela satellites are credited with the first discovery and measurement of a gamma-ray burst in outer space. On 22 September 1979, sometime around 3:00am local time, a US Atomic Energy Detection System satellite recorded a pattern of intense flashes in a remote portion of the Indian Ocean. Moments later an unusual, fast-moving ionospheric disturbance was detected by the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico, and at about the same time a distant, muffled thud was overheard by the US Navy’s undersea Sound Surveillance System (SOSUS). Evidently something violent and explosive had transpired in the ocean off the southern tip of Africa.Data suggested that the incident occurred near Bouvet Island, a frozen scrap of earth famous as the most isolated isle in the world. The tiny island was home to a Norwegian automated weather station, and in 1964 an abandoned lifeboat of unknown origin was found there, filled with supplies. But that is another mystery, saved for another podcast episode. The event was logged as Vela Alert 747 and the US military was put into high alert. The probability that a nuclear weapon had been detonated in the atmosphere was a treaty violation, and that's big, especially if it was Russia or a rogue Nation not willing to follow the rules outlined in the treaty.President Jimmy Carter was called to an emergency meeting while the U.S. Air Force dispatched a squadron of Boeing WC-135 planes, specially designed to detect airborne radioactive fallout, to the site. After flying for over 230.4 hours, none of the planes detected any radioactive material in the atmosphere. Visually, they could also see no operation going on either near Bouvet Island or on it. There were no foreign ships or planes in the vicinity. There was no evidence of any destruction. The Norwegian automated weather station remained intact and in working order. At first, the US believed that the Isrealis, who are proven to have nuclear weapons but still, to this day deny it, were responsible for breaking the treaty and conducting a nuclear test. They also believed they were working with South Africa, either providing them with Nuclear secrets or working together to produce bigger, better bombs.Jimmy Carter wrote in his diary that evening “There was indication of a nuclear explosion in the region of South Africa — either South Africa, Israel using a ship at sea, or nothing.”There was great cause for concern. The treaty was broken, and they believed it was done by what would seem – their allies. How would the world respond? How would the Soviet Union respond? Both Israel and South African officials denied having anything to do with the incident, and have pointed the finger at Russia, as the state that most likely broke the nuclear treaty. Russia, also, concerned about these new developments denied that they had anything to do with the incident. President Carter ordered his science advisor, Dr. Frank Press, to assemble a panel of outside experts to look at all the evidence. The panel was chaired by Dr. Jack Ruina, a former head of DARPA. The Ruina Panel issued its report in 1980 and in short, it found the deviances between the light flash recorded by Vela and light flashes from known nuclear detonations too significant, and it found the lack of corroborating data which must exist to be problematic. The Ruina Panel's conclusion was that the most likely explanation for the Vela Incident was a meteoroid strike on the satellite itself, where the meteor's initial entry into the field of view was responsible for the initial flash, and the spread of debris from the impact responsible for the second flash.During this time they learned the aging satellite’s electromagnetic pulse (EMP) detector had long ago failed, therefore it was unable to corroborate observations. Vela sister satellite hadn’t detected anything at all, though its working condition at that time was unknown. This frustrated the investigation because they could not accurately conclude what the actual incident was. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

As you study the details of what would happen as a result of EMP attacks, you will be aware of: 1. What to pray for ahead of time; and, 2. What to prepare for ahead of time. This is NO idle threat. Recently Ted Koppel (American broadcast journalist), and news anchor for Nightline, wrote the book Lights Out, in which he described what would happen IF and WHEN electric power grids are/were attacked by either cyber attack or EMP attack. I believe that my report better describes - and with simplistic detail - the scenario of what the results of such attack would be where the "rubber hits the road." ________________________________________ Notice: There are several music beds in this podcast. The podcast is NOT over just because you hear music. ________________________________________ DESCRIPTION: Israel and the USA are targets of EMP weapons attack. Either country, Israel or the US, would be brought to, for all practical near term purposes, an irreversible standstill. EMP attacks could be delivered to Israel from a freighter by Scud Missile or an Iranian SHAHAB missile off the coasts of either country ... or from beer cans without an air attack. ________________________________________ MUSIC  ISRAEL CODE RED - EMP THREAT URGENT PRIORITY:  Israel and the USA are targets of EMP weapons attack. EMP, Electro Magnetic Pulse, occurs when a nuclear device is detonated (either from aircraft or missiles … or from a terrorist device as small as a beer can). The most potentially damaging would be from a high altitude nuclear explosion. Both Israel and the USA are militarily on ultra high technical systems. An EMP device would disengage sophisticated electrical gear like sensors, power grids, and computers. EMP attacks could be delivered to Israel from a freighter by Scud Missile (or, an Iranian SHAHAB missile) off the Mediterranean coast (or, to the USA off the Pacific (West), Atlantic (East), Gulf of Mexico (South), or Great Lakes (North). Dr. Fred Levien, retired US Navy Commander and government consultant, states that on a 1 to 10 scale, the threat is a number 8. Listen to the rest of the podcast (or, read the Show Notes) and you will see that an EMP attack would also result in: Refrigerators not working; Dead livestock; Decomposition of food; Factories closed; Military standstill; Communications stop; and, Businesses fail. The Mossad and the CIA know this. The IDF and AMAN and US Armed Forces and Pentagon know this. They do NOT want you and the general public to know this as it will bring alarm. However, I want you to know so you will know WHAT to do: for your protection, your family protection, your business and economic protection … and the nation of Israel’s protection HOW EMP WORKS: An EMP nuclear detonation produces an electromagnetic field with a super fast transient pulse which couples itself to power lines, cables, antennas, and sends an electric surge (or, spike). It literally fries the electronic system in a vehicle, resulting in NO ignition. Lights and windows will work because of the battery, but the auto will NOT run. Terrorists could wipe out Ben Gurion Airport, or Kennedy Airport, plus a host of other targets. Air Traffic Control would become disabled. There would be no communications. Planes in the sky would be left flying blind and many would crash after running out of fuel. EMP DEVICES THE SIZE OF BEER CANS – NO NEED FOR AIR ATTACKS: Terrorists could target financial centers. For example, the NYSE (New York stock Exchange) could be wiped out with individuals and companies losing billions of dollars. An air attack on either Israel or the US could take months …or even years … from which to recover. However, a hand EMP device (the size of a beer can) could be used at airports, financial or communications centers, hospitals, power companies, police or military bases, and urban traffic and transit control centers. Militarily, EMP weapons can disable vehicles, even heavy armored vehicles, in a single hit. Data transfers are also jammed, resulting in NO communications: medical, military, financial, personal, power, water, lights, sanitation. Either country, Israel or the US, would be brought to, for all practical near term purposes, an irreversible standstill. MUSIC THE RESULTS OF EMP ATTACK: The first 24 hours would be absolute chaos! An EMP attack would reach apogee in a matter of minutes. It would destroy GPS, telecommunications, water delivery, and power grids. The greatest damage would be from a nuclear detonated device 40 to 400 KM (25 to 250 miles) above land. An air attack could wipe out all of the USA (and the North American continent). However, it could be fired from freighter by a Scud or SHAHAB missile off coastal waters. Such a coastal attack from a freighter in the Mediterranean could easily shut down all of Israel. A terrorist EMP attack might profoundly affect any major city; however, because of the high cost of real estate and traffic issues, some major businesses have relocated valuable assets outside of major urban areas, and have taken other measures to protect themselves. Therefore, the long-term economic and technological impact of such an event might not be as grave as previously imagined, depending on the nature of the original attack. A common scenario is detonation of a device using long-range missiles available only to major military powers. The greater the altitude, the greater the destruction. An EMP device fired from 30 miles altitude in the US Midwest would shut down six (6) or seven (7) states. However, an offshore detonation at high altitude would disrupt both an entire coast and regions hundreds of miles inland (e.g. 120 mile altitude, 1000 mile EMP radius). Moreover, a high altitude burst could be positioned over international waters by means of a missile of low accuracy, launched from a ship[5], also in international waters. North Korea, Iran, and  Pakistan (for example) have  Scud-derived missiles of more than adequate capability. Likewise, the Iranian SHAHAB missile. Such an attack on either Israel or the USA would take either country (even though Israel attained statehood in 1948) back to the 1800’s as far as technology is concerned. MUSIC ASSESSMENT OF THE CURRENT THREAT: A report from the Federal Commission (USA) to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack has painted a bleak picture for America under such attack: Electricity grids down, uncontrolled fires from exploding gas transport systems, no communication to summon firefighters and if they could come, no water to battle fires. All in city after city after city. The 200-page report says Americans should look to past incidents, then multiply those impacts by the number of cities that could be hit by such an attack. For example: San Diego County Water Authority (USA) and San Diego County Gas and Electric companies experienced severe electromagnetic interference. … Both companies found themselves unable to actuate critical valve openings and closings. This inability necessitated sending technicians to remote locations to manually open and close water and gas valves, averting, in the words of a subsequent letter of complaint by the San Diego County Water Authority to the Federal Communications Commission, a potential 'catastrophic failure' of the aqueduct system. The report explained the potential impact could have included an "aqueduct rupture" with disruption of service, severe flooding and related damage to private and public property. The source of the 1999 problem? Errant radar on a ship 25 miles off the coast of San Diego, the report said. A simple problem caused a potential catastrophic failure. Think what an EMP attack would do?! MUSIC WHAT TO WATCH FOR: In the Tanakh, the Prophet Daniel (in Ketuvim), tells us of a coming world dictator who will make a treaty (a covenant) with Israel for seven (7) years (Daniel 9:27). As concession for signing this treaty, the New World Order leader will allow Israel to build her Temple in or near the Temple Mount. This coming world leader (the False Messiah) who will be chosen by the New World Order (the EU and the UN with League of Arab States) will then, in the middle of the seven years (after 42 months) go into the Temple and desecrate it. He will cause the sacrifice (zebach) and oblation (minchah) to cease; he will blaspheme G-d and even claim the he (the False Messiah) is G-d. This will usher in the next 42 months (the last half of the seven years) which will be the time of greatest persecution the Jewish People have ever known (greater than the Holocaust under Nazi Germany). We also know that the Brit Chadashah (the New Covenant – See Mattiyahu 24:15) tells us that Yeshua validated the prophecy of Daniel, saying: “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso reads, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Messiah, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false messiahs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, ‘Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.’ For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” The False Messiah will come into office first as a peace maker. He will use the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Iranian-Syria-Middle East conflict, and the City of Jerusalem as his bargaining chips. Do NOT be deceived. Do NOT trust him. Make sure you know the REAL MESSIAH. Pray to the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Ask Him to reveal to you if Yeshua is really your Messiah. If He does, than receive Him and do what He asks you to do. After you know the REAL Messiah you will be able to claim His protection: the BLOOD covering. The Torah tells in Leviticus 17:11, that the BLOOD is an atonement (kaphar), a covering for the soul. Speak the BLOOD of Messiah over the door of your heart: over yourself and your home by faith … just like the children of Israel put the BLOOD on the door of their homes that first Passover. Ask G-d to protect you. RSS PODCAST Notice: There are several music beds in this podcast. The podcast is NOT over just because you hear music. It is not over until Mrs. bin Laden sings! DESCRIPTION: Israel and the USA are targets of EMP weapons attack. Either country, Israel or the US, would be brought to, for all practical near term purposes, an irreversible standstill. EMP attacks could be delivered to Israel from a freighter by Scud Missile or an Iranian SHAHAB missile off the Mediterranean coast. MUSIC  ISRAEL CODE RED - EMP THREAT URGENT PRIORITY:  Israel and the USA are targets of EMP weapons attack. MUSIC WHAT TO DO: Israel, attack Iran NOW … before it’s too late. Study my last podcast: “2008-07-28 / SECRET ISRAEL TIMELINE: WHEN TO ATTACK IRAN.” WHAT TO WATCH FOR: In the Tanakh, the Prophet Daniel (in Ketuvim), tells us of a coming world dictator who will make a treaty (a covenant) with Israel for seven (7) years (Daniel 9:27).
