Now you can stream the full episode on Spotify, Amazon Music , Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts for free for a few weeks.Netflix is trying hard to crack the Indian market. Ever since the US streaming giant entered the country it has been hard at work to make an impact. And over the years they've learnt a thing or two about how the Indian streaming space functions.Netflix is also not shy about expressing how it sees India as its last growth market. Most of the other geographies it has saturated its reach to a large extent, but India has always been a pain point for it to get a leg up on. So much so, that the then CEO, Reed Hastings expressed his frustration about why they weren't able to crack India during an earnings call in 2022.But from then to now, Netflix has managed an interesting turnaround by climbing down the pricing ladder on its subscriptions in India, even as it raises its prices in North America, and throwing in a somewhat limited regional and diversified slate of shows into the mix.But Netflix is clear on one thing, it sees India as its last growth market and expects to add 100 million paying subscribers in the country. But for that to happen it has to put in a lot more work and now it faces the added pressure of competing with the merged entity of Jio Cinema and Disney+ Hotstar which would create a mammoth of a content library stacked with regional content, endless range of movies and prestige television,  and the massive distributional heft Jio brings to the table. All of this begs the question, given the situation, how seriously is Netflix looking at India as its last growth market? To discuss this, hosts Praveen Gopal Krishnan and Rohin Dharmakumar are joined by Kunj Sanghvi who is the Content and Creative Head at Kuku FM, and Nishad Kenkre, who presently is an Operating Partner at Verlinvest. With a mission to revive the unparalleled aesthetic of the Indian artisanal work, and make it accessible to Indians, Daisy decided to pursue her dream of starting Pinklay in December 2015.  Her passion for creating and building, her love for animals, and her grit to acknowledge her strengths as a woman leader, resonates with her brand. She believes, as a woman, one is wired differently. But different doesn't mean inadequate. Through Pinklay, she wants to urge women to stay connected with their gender and lead. Daisy's mantra for an impact-making life is “To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people, and the affection of children...to leave the world a better place...to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived; this is to have succeeded.” Daisy believes that one must trust oneself with their dreams, for castles are not built overnight. Aditi analyses Daisy's handwriting and talks about some interesting aspects of her personality including what makes her a successful entrepreneur. Daisy shares some behind-the-scenes stories of her life and what makes her a fierce and independent leader. Soni Somarajan says he has lived two different lives in a single lifetime. The first part is all memory and the second part is the world today. And he fears he might lose the first due to the enormity of the second. Because for the last 30 years, Soni has borne the brunt of a progressive neuromuscular disorder. Two thirds of the time, he has to make do with a permanent sidekick - a wheelchair. It's almost as if he has accessed a parallel world. In his seminal poem "Dream Selfie", he says - The next morning, all of it comes back to me, as always. I'm running; wish I knew where. The grass is spangled dew, light twitches, ripe lemon. At the far end, the earth nosedives. What's beyond I can't see. With these muscles I'm pleased — smooth, speedy. I accelerate at will. No acid build, just the kick of fleeting feet. I almost fly. Wait. I can't catch up — whispers my wheelchair. Soni Somarajan is a poet, copywriter, editor and content consultant. His poetry and writings have featured in several anthologies, magazines and journals. An alumnus of the University of Iowa's IWP Advanced Poetry Summit 2013, Soni is the Creative Head of The Quarantine Train, a poetry collective, and he lives in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. Today my guest Anna and I will be talking about how she is changing the narrative of neurodiversity in the film industry both on set and in her personal life as an autistic filmmaker.Anna Czarska is a producer, director, award-winning writer, actress, as well as Managing Director and Creative Head of Development for Sticky Tape Productions. She is most known for producing The Dining Room, Cost You Nothing, and her upcoming film Mildly Different, set to release this year. Her background in business and love for unconventional cinema has allowed her to use her art to address topics involving mental health and societal matters that require greater public awareness. Every project she takes on challenges the audience to think of things in a new way and leaves them with a deeper perspective on life.Remember: It’s the up to everyone on set to create the collaborative atmosphere that produces incredible projects. Be open to new ideas, listen to people’s perspectives, and respect everyone’s creative process. Even if you don’t apply someone’s idea, you being open to it in the first place drastically affects the dynamic on set. Research: To create a really authentic, accurate and properly represented character with neurodiversity, it’s essential that you do your research. Check out what symptoms or behaviors are typical, what ones are uncommon and what is misunderstood. How would they affect your character’s daily tasks? Then, ask the community! Submit a character description or excerpt from your script and request their reviews on it. Then adjust as needed to capture that character’s reality. Challenge: What is a cause or societal issue that you have a deep connection with that you could bring awareness to? What demographic could use representation in the cinematic industry? See where you can use your artistic voice to empower a cause that is close to your heart.https://www.victoriaruke.com/To learn more about Anna's upcoming film:https://www.stickytapefilms.com/https://www.patreon.com/MildlyDifferentFollow her on social media: @StickyTapeProductions@MildlyDifferentFilm

Today's special guest is Matthew Sutcliffe. A former UK L'Oreal Colour Trophy winner and Creative Head 'It List Guy', Matthew is a hairdresser I've long admired. Most recently I've become a huge fan of the salon he co-owns, Tint Leeds. A salon where all it's stylists are self-employed, Matthew got inspiration to open Tint Leeds after the negative experiences he had when he went from being employed to a self-employed hairdresser. He hated it. In this HTCI podcast, Matthew talks us through his journey to Tint Leeds. We will learn how its fresh attitude to producing a modern culture in todays hairdressing industry, is changing the poor perception that the self-employed salon has long had. If your perception is, "Self-employed salons are unprofessional," then think again. Tint Leeds has taken the best from employed and self-employed salons, and fused them all together to create one of the most progressive and exciting salons in the UK right now.  Listening to what Matthew say's today will go a long way to cutting out the stigma of self-employed salons. Whether employing or self-employing hairdressers, I love the fact that our industry offers us all choices. It's all about what suits your own business goals and set ups. If being a self-employed salon is of interest to your salon business set up, then you won't go far wrong by listening in to what Matthew shares with us all today. I respect how Matthew is taking the self-employed salons to another level, and how his team is at the forefront of everything he's doing. As he says, "Being co-owner of Tint Leeds my ultimate goal is to use my experience to educate staff and help them achieve what they want from this amazing industry." So what are we waiting for, lets dive into todays episode with Matthew Sutcliffe.     A podcast produced by Hairy Media Productions.   Thanks for Listening To share your thoughts: Leave a note in the comment section below. Miti Desai is Founder & Creative Head at miti design lab. She is a a Designer, Classical Dancer & Educator. Miti finds that classical Indian dance has reintroduced her to traditional design, culture and aesthetics, which are key players in her design practice. She studied applied art in Mumbai, after which she went to the US to study design. She is an executive trustee of Shakti yogashrama gurukulam near lonavala. Her main body of work stems in these three areas and has been nicely documented on her website, mitidesignlab.com. I believe she is an ideal candidate for Audiogyan as she technically touches all three areas for which audiogyan documents for reference.  1. How and where do you see design meeting dance and dance meeting design? What is the philosophy behind it? 2. Why classical anything (dance, music) has to be so disciplined? 3. In one of your youtube video you mentioned “philosophy” is engrained in our Indian culture to which I agree, but then why is it not seen in today’s time? 4. Why classical dance activity is most of the times solo? 5. How and where can one find classical design? 6. Where does education come into your practice?
