Niko, Dan und Base sind zurück und nehmen die wirklich wichtigen Geschehnisse in der Hip-Hop-Szene kritisch in den Blick. Diese Woche sprechen sie unter anderem über die Five Percent Nation. Die afroamerikanische gesellschaftlich-religiöse Bewegung hatte laut vieler US-Rap-Legenden wie Big Daddy Kane und RZA einen immensen Einfluss auf die Golden Era des Genres. Gemeinsam sprechen die drei darüber, wie die Werte der Bewegung die Hip-Hop-Kultur beeinflussen, was man an ihr jedoch auch kritisch betrachten sollte. Außerdem blickt der realste Podcast der Szene mal wieder in die Sampling-Welt. So haben sich Fusion-Koryphäe Bob James und Hip-Hop-Produzent 9th Wonder getroffen und über Sampling gesprochen. Bob James Schaffen wurde in der Vergangenheit auf unzähligen Hip-Hop-Tracks gesamplet. Seine Meinung dazu war nicht immer positiv. Seit kurzem ist James Musik jedoch auch auf der Sampling-Plattform Tracklib verfügbar und mit dem Song “Nautilus” sogar Teil eines Beatbattles. Ob Dan und Base als Freundschaftsdienst für Niko einen Beat bei der Challenge einreichen, was die drei über den verstorbenen Prince Markie Dee von den Fat Boys zu sagen haben und welche Rolle Eminems Kassettensammlung bei alledem spielt, das erfahrt ihr in der neuen Folge von Love’N’Hate. All PS5 – Verfügbarkeit, Probleme, PSVR2 Es gibt wahrlich einen Haufen Neuigkeiten zur PS5 zu vermelden. Zum einen hat Sony die Nachfrage unterschätzt und wenn ihr wie Peppi davon ausgegangen seid, dass es sicher bald Konsolen geben wird, dann könntet ihr damit falsch liegen. Sony will noch nicht mal zum Weihnachtsgeschäft eine ausreichende Menge an Konsolen garantieren. Dafür haben sie gesagt, es wird eine PSVR2 geben. Wann, das steht in den Sternen, aber sie wird ein Kabel haben, das ist sicher. Zu guter Letzt gibt es noch mehr schlechte Nachrichten vom Controller. Der hat anscheinend eine begrenzte Lebenszeit… Und es können Probleme auftreten, die man von anderen Systemen kennt. Das liegt mitunter daran, dass einige Bauteile Identisch sind. Matze hat sich getraut… …Cyberpunk 2077 zu spielen. Das lange erwartete, viel gescholtene Mammutwerk der Witcher Macher ist raus. Nach 2 Monaten und mehreren Patches hat sich Matze nach Night City begeben und sagt Euch ob Top oder Flop! DC hat es schon wieder getan Seit 2015 sind 5 Staffeln von Supergirl erschienen. Verkörpert wird die Kryptonierin darin von Melissa Benoist und wie Peppi findet, das auch sehr passend. Egal wie cheesy die Serie ist, sie passt da irgendwie rein. Doch obwohl die Serie Supergirl nicht abgesetzt ist, hat DC die Rolle für einen Supergirl Gastauftritt im Film “The Flash” nun anders besetzt. Hier wird sie von der Schauspielerin Sasha Calle gespielt. Es war ja schon immer so, dass DC die Serien und Filme stark trennt. Marvel geht da komplett andere Wege, wie man zuletzt bei Wanda Vision sehen konnte. Mädness ist wieder da 2019 hat ihm Matze noch in einem Store-Konzert in München gesehen und nun kommt 2021 wieder ein neues Album: Mädness ist zurück. Mit “Boot” zusammen mit Mine kommt ein entspannter Hip Hop Track als erste Single. Deep Impact, Armageddon und Greenland Asteroiden die auf der Erde einschlagen scheinen ein Angsttrauma in Hollywood zu sein. Mit Gerald Butler in der Hauptrolle kommt mit Greenland ein neuer Vertreter und er muss sich beweisen ob er im Krisenjahr auch eine Krise bewältigen kann. Nintendo: Kein Breath of the Wild 2 Hatten wir es nicht alle gehofft? Dass Nintendo Breath of the wild 2 vorstellt? Wohl schon oder? Zu schön wäre es gewesen, doch nun gibt es ein HD Remake von Skyward Sword für die Switch. Mag cool sein, aber sein wir ehrlich. Zum 35 jährigen Geburtstag hätten wir uns BOTW2 erhofft. Karate Kid Cobra Kai war lange ein Geheimtipp für Fans von 80s Unterhaltung und Retro. Lange nur auf YouTube, dann ab August 2020 auf Netflix, bringt der Streamingdienst seit Januar die 3. Staffel und schon bald eine 4. Matze hat sich alle Episoden angesehen. Auf jeden Fall was mit Home Da hat sich der Cast von Spiderman 3 wohl einen Spaß erlaubt. Sie haben Setbilder mit verschiedensten möglichen Filmnamen gepostet. Darunter auch “Spider-Man: Phone Home” und „Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker“. Nun steht aber offiziell fest, der dritte Teil wird den Namen „Spider-Man: No Way Home“ tragen. Wir sind ja schon mal gespannt, denn man kann schon sagen, dass der zweite Teil mit einem Cliffhanger endete.

Hay of Oakland University on their new book Women Rapping Revolution.(University of California Press, 2020). Detroit, Michigan, has long been recognized as a center of musical innovation and social change. Rebekah Farrugia and Kellie D. Hay draw on seven years of fieldwork to illuminate the important role that women have played in mobilizing a grassroots response to political and social pressures at the heart of Detroit's ongoing renewal and development project. Focusing on the Foundation, a women-centered hip-hop collective, Women Rapping Revolution argues that the hip-hop underground is a crucial site where Black women shape subjectivity and claim self-care as a principle of community organizing. Through interviews and sustained critical engagement with artists and activists, this study also articulates the substantial role of cultural production in social, racial, and economic justice efforts.
