Jolynn D. Ledgerwood has over 25 years experience in Learning and Development. Her experience spans Hospitality, Consumer Goods, ProfessionalServices, IT, and Cyber Security. She has worked with several large companies including PepsiCo, Brinker International, FritoLay, Critical Start, and Toyota Motors. While she enjoyed her work in the large corporate setting, she was discouraged by the methodologies for Team Building and allowing ALL members a voice. When she found LEGO®️ Serious Play®️, she was drawn to its familiarity and plentiful application opportunities. (LSP has over 15,000 facilitators in the Europe countries, and only 100+ in the US.). She added it to her list of Certifications including Bob Goff's Dream Big, The Primal Question, and Gallup StrengthsFinder.
Jolynn Ledgerwood is the founder of Elevate Your Talent and host of the Play for Performance podcast. When she was diagnosed with a learning disability in nursing school, she made a courageous pivot to build a thriving career in corporate learning and development, moving from hospitality to cybersecurity and eventually launching her own business. In our conversation, we explored how her early challenges shaped her approach to training. Jolynn is passionate about making learning accessible and effective for everyone, and she brings a refreshing level of creativity into her work — including a powerful, hands-on methodology called LEGO® Serious Play®. Yes, she uses LEGO® bricks to unlock deeper thinking, enhance team collaboration, and drive strategic breakthroughs. We talked about how to design truly inclusive learning environments, how sensory tools can deepen engagement and retention, and what it takes to sell a transformative — but unconventional — approach to skeptical business leaders.Contact Dino at: dino@al4ep.comWebsites:al4ep.comelevateyourtalent.coAdditional Guest Links:LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/jolynnledgerwoodInstagram: @elevateyourtalentAuthentic Leadership For Everyday People / Dino CattaneoDino on LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/dinocattaneoPodcast Instagram – @al4edp Podcast Twitter – @al4edp Podcast Facebook: facebook.com/al4edpMusicSusan Cattaneo: susancattaneo.bandcamp.com

Abstract: Endoplasmic reticulum stress triggers the unfolded protein response (UPR) to promote cell survival or apoptosis. Transient endoplasmic reticulum stress activation has been reported to trigger megakaryocyte production, and UPR activation has been reported as a feature of megakaryocytic cancers. However, the role of UPR signaling in megakaryocyte biology is not fully understood. We studied the involvement of UPR in human megakaryocytic differentiation using PMA (phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate)-induced maturation of megakaryoblastic cell lines and thrombopoietin-induced differentiation of human peripheral blood-derived hematopoietic stem cells. Our results demonstrate that an adaptive UPR mediated by IRE1 (inositol-requiring enzyme 1) endonuclease activity is required for megakaryocyte differentiation. Differentiation did not alter the response to the canonical endoplasmic reticulum stressors DTT or thapsigargin. However, thapsigargin, but not DTT, inhibited differentiation, consistent with the involvement of Ca2+ signaling in megakaryocyte differentiation. Copy rights belong to original authors. I don't recall the last time I found myself involuntarily saying WOW! as often as I did in this truly inspirational conversation with Canadian freedom fighter, Jody Ledgerwood. Like so many others, before the "pandemic" came along, Jody was living her life raising her kids, working at her business and doing the stuff of life. Once the craziness of a Canadian government gone-wild sunk in, Jody knew she had to take matters into her own hands. Jody Ledgerwood's story is one of grit and tenacity and, equally important, cooperation and alliance-building. I was thrilled to be invited on an episode of the Leaders of B2B podcast hosted by David “Ledge” Ledgerwood, the managing partner of Add1Zero, a firm specializing in sales execution for B2B technology companies. Ledge is a salesman's salesman, so it was fascinating to talk with him about the seemingly timeless disconnect between sales and marketing teams. In this rebroadcast of the episode on his podcast, you'll see that while we come from very different perspectives, we agree more often than not about what can be done to mend that disconnect. The thing is, it's easier than most people think. Let's get into it.

On this episode of The Adaptables, Abbe and Emma chat about episode 11 of the Hulu and BBC adaptation of NORMAL PEOPLE by Sally Rooney. They're joined by Angela Ledgerwood, host of the Lit Up podcast. Abbe, Emma, and Angela discuss sex etiquette, portrayal of masculinity on TV shows, the tendency of falling back into self-destructive patterns, and more. Discussion breakdown: Intro, Angie's introduction to NORMAL PEOPLE and why she prefers CONVERSATIONS WITH FRIENDS just a little bit more (0:28–2:11) Episode recap: Are Marianne and Connell finally getting their shit together? Dare we hope? (2:12–5:26) From studying abroad in Sweden to spending summer break in Sligo: Marianne just can't catch a break from emotionally abusive people (5:27–7:38) Love on the Weekend: Connell and Marianne spend sweet summer weekends together (7:39–11:04) Popsicles and proclamations in Connell's bedroom (11:05–14:07) To kiss or not to kiss? Can Connell and Marianne ever be just friends? (14:08–16:19) What is at the crux of Marianne and Connell's miscommunication? Will we ever find out? Will they ever find out? (16:20–19:03) The Trifecta: “You can do whatever you want to me. Will you tell me I belong to you? Will you hit me?” (19:04–22:43) Connell shows Marianne a new way to accept love, one that is not defined by the abuse she faced at home (22:44–25:05) Alan's atrocities, the mother's passivity, and how Marianne defines her worth based on their mistreatment of her (26:06–28:31) That time when Connell very politely threatens to take Alan's life if he every lays a finger on Marianne again and how she finally learns to accept kindness from people (28:32–31:21) The soundtrack of the show: yay or nay? (31:22–34:15) Angie's favorite adaptations and what she can't wait to read next (34:16–38:33) Marianne Fringe Report: ✂ Marianne's wardrobe has made a triumphant return. The sparkly silver number she is sporting at the club, think Paris Hilton circa early 2000s, has us crying—for its sheer beauty and our sheer inability to go clubbing in the midst of a pandemic. Preparation for negotiations has long been something that we as procurement professionals know is vitally important, but all too often we're stuck in the weeds with firefighting and process-related administrative work to do what we should be doing. Add to this the difficulties we also face in obtaining the necessary market data. Maybe your organisation has stopped subscribing to commodity price data channels because the subscriptions are too expensive Or you're new to a category and you don't know how to pull this data. Perhaps your predecessor stored the Excel spreadsheets on his/her C drive or on some far flung corner of Sharepoint that you're not aware of. We've all been there. Time is scarce and access to the necessary knowledge isn't always straightforward. In today's episode, I interview Kent Ledgerwood, VP of Customer Success at LevaData. They're a company who are facilitating easier access to supplier data to help buyers in their negotiation preparation, as well as more general risk management assessment activities related to sourcing and supplier management. Using Cognitive Market and Supplier Intelligence to Cut Negotiation Prep Work: Kent Ledgerwood from LevaData2:53 I start off by asking Kent whether he believes it's true that Sales typically know their customers better than Procurement knows their suppliers, and what we can do to catch up and level the playing field. 4:48 We go on to discuss how size of company may still impact overall perceived buying power. However, it no longer necessarily means better access to market intelligence and certainly doesn't mean ability to act faster. 6:43 Kent explains how there is a sweeping change of collaboration in diverse industries between buyer and customer, in order to become more innovative, maintain margins and be faster to market. Democratisation of data and the ability to open up is changing the way business is done. 8:51 Will this trend happen faster in certain industries than others? 9:59 We discuss to what extent having perfect knowledge of the market and of the supplier can assist a negotiation preparation, and why AI will still rely on the human at the other end and their ability to be able to interpret the data to facilitate them in making informed decisions. 11:26 How "big data" can give you the insights to how your organisation is performing in relation to not only the market, but also compared to other peer companies in the same industry? 13:49 What are the limitations of what a machine can provide vs. where does the human knowledge of the Commodity / Category Manager come in to complement this augmented intelligence? 16:03 How cognititve data can assist with New Product Introduction (NPI) through its analysis a Bill of Materials (BoM) to ensure that pricing can be optimised in real time in collaboration with both Engineering and Procurement. 18:23 We look into how intelligence of actual costs in the marketplace can ensure speed and effectiveness in sourcing, and how this can also avoid unsubstantiated budgets driven from financial controllers without the benefits of market insight. 21:22 Risk management is the buzzword of late, but no platform will completely eliminate all of your potential supply chain disruption. We explore the benefits as well as the limitations of this, as well as looking deeper into 2nd and 3rd tier vendors and how they can be analysed to spot potential risk. 24:54 Certain geopolitical risks are easier to predict vs. less predictable risk such as the emergence and rapid spread of Covid-19. I ask Kent to what extent good data is necessary in order to provide the necessary intelligence in the context of risk to your supply chain. His answer is surprising and unexpected... How to connect with Kent: https://www.levadata.com (LevaData website) https://www.linkedin.com/in/kentledgerwood/ (Kent's LinkedIn profile) Kent's email address How to connect with James: https://jamesmeadsconsulting.com/ (James...
