Fiona has spent over 25 years in the IT industry, with 16 of those years dedicated to running a successful sales training company. Two years ago, she took a step back from the industry, driven by personal milestones and a desire for change. Her son leaving for university provided her with a quiet house and a moment to reflect on her life and career. She realised that she was bored and needed to find a new passion. This led her to immerse herself in the world of entrepreneurship, working extensively with female entrepreneurs outside the MSP industry. This break rejuvenated her and equipped her with fresh perspectives and strategies that she now brings back to the MSP community. During our conversation, Fiona and I discussed the importance of getting back into the flow of your business. Flow, as Fiona describes, is about doing what you love and what energises you. It's crucial for MSP owners to identify their strengths and passions to stay motivated and productive. Fiona emphasises the need to align your business with your personal values and strengths. She suggests using tools like the Gallup StrengthsFinder and the VIA Character Strengths Test to understand what puts you in your flow. For Fiona, speaking and engaging with people is her flow, whereas technical tasks and social media posts are not. We also talked about the importance of giving yourself permission to pivot and course-correct in your business. If you find yourself stuck or unfulfilled, it's essential to reassess and make changes that align with your passions and lifestyle goals. Fiona shared that even if it means stepping back from certain roles or delegating tasks, it's vital to ensure you're doing what you enjoy. This not only brings back your energy but also positively impacts your business's success. Mindset plays a significant role in an MSP owner's journey. Fiona highlights the need to overcome limiting beliefs that can hold you back. These beliefs often stem from past experiences and can manifest as thoughts like “I'm not worthy” or “I'm not enough.” Recognising and reprogramming these beliefs is crucial. Fiona suggests that awareness is the first step – identifying when these beliefs come up, especially during stressful or challenging times. By shifting your mindset to focus on possibilities and potential, you can break through these barriers and unlock new levels of growth and success. Fear is another major factor that can block success. Fiona advises MSP owners to not let fear drive their business decisions. Instead, they should focus on what they desire and align themselves with that vision. This shift in energy and mindset can significantly impact the business's trajectory. She encourages owners to ask themselves, “What if it works?” and to stay hungry and passionate about their goals. Throughout the episode, Fiona shared her personal experiences of stepping out of her comfort zone and the benefits it brought to her life and business. She reminded us that it's essential to enjoy the journey, not just the destination. By focusing on personal growth and aligning your business with your passions, you can create a fulfilling and successful MSP. The phrase "executive presence" probably conjures up images of someone standing at the front of a table or at a large wooden desk wearing a dark grey suit. You might even think that this person is decisive, or an innovator. These traits are often assigned to someone with "executive presence", but did you know that a study of executives' characteristics by Gallup Strengths Finder showed that there is not a magical combination of traits that make up an executive? RiverLogic: Tools to Transform Resistance: Interview with Denise Blanc We have the capacity to soften resistance and support more ease in our communication with anyone- but we will need intention, courage, and willingness to build more vital skills. How Denise Blanc describes herself – I believe that outstanding leadership requires courage – the courage to be authentic, not always to know the answer, and the courage to speak the truth. It also requires the ability to manage relationships, navigate social networks, influence, and inspire others. This understanding is rooted in over two decades of working in Organization Development as a leadership/team coach, facilitator, mediator, and internal senior leader. Whether coaching CEOs, executive directors, engineers, physician leaders, or their teams, I provide practical tools to tackle tough conversations, harness a growth mindset, and create high trust/high-performing cultures. I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousands of people around the world and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self doubt. My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guests will bring Bold, Executable, Intrinsic and Targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and Be It Till You See It. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started.Lesley Logan Welcome back to the Be It Till You See It interview recap where my co hosts in life, Brad and I are going to dig into the leading convo I have with Kevin Kepple in our last episode. If you haven't yet listened to that interview, feel free to pause this now and go back and listen to that one and then come back and join us. Because, I mean, like Kevin and I kind of nerded out a little bit. Like I got, I got really excited when I heard. I was like, I was like, "Oh, I love this, let's go."Brad Crowell It was very reminiscent of a conversation that we had many years ago.Lesley Logan I know, I know. But we're married, so I couldn't Netflix ... (Brad and Lesley laughs) (Brad: Strengths Finder and chill.) No, we could not. We could not. And ...Brad Crowell And those of you who don't know what we're referencing, you're gonna have to go back and listen to last episode where Lesley told a very fun story about how Lesley and I initially connected.Lesley Logan And if Kevin has a partner who's listened to this, I don't mean it like that.Brad Crowell Well, I'll tell you what I felt right out of the gate. I thought it was so awesome that he pointed out something that I knew innately. But I had never really verbalized. He said leadership is not a position, it's an action. And leadership is different than management. Right? Because, and then he also threw in there like, like, like, in his corporate experience, he was like, he's like, "Yeah, you know, how I became the quote unquote, leader, I became a good salesperson. And I started doing really good." And they were like, "Well, I guess you'll be promoted to the head of your department." And he's like, "That doesn't make me a good leader. That just makes me a good salesperson. What the hell?"Lesley Logan But every company does ... (Brad: They all fuckin' do this.) They all do this. (Brad: Does make any sense.) It's like, haven't you ever heard if you can't do it, like those who like, what's the cliche, I'm just blanking now, but like (Brad: They do teach. Those who can't do, teach.) Yeah, those who can't do teach. It's like (Brad: Yeah) your best coaches on the football field we're not the quarterbacks. They were the people who maybe we're a quarterback at some point. But like, they weren't the star, my favorite coaches, my favorite coach and running was not a number one runner, he was actually number three runner if you know cross country at all. You have an individual number that you do in some races, but in other races of the team, qualifying the top five runners who come across the finish line, their cumulative scores is what wins. So you could have someone who's a fastest person and wins the race. And then but if the next four people are slower than the average of the other teams, first five, you lose. So all five people matter. Right? (Brad: Right) My best coach was like the number three runner. And when he got promoted to be the vice principal, that's fine for him. He gave us his number one runner who won states and all these things. He was a dick. He was the worst coach in the world. He just goes run faster. And I'm like, (Brad: The worst.) the worst, the worst. I quit running because of him, because he was the worst.Brad Crowell Well, I that's annoying. And I totally get that. We also had a guy who was like, he had played pro when I was in high school, what pro soccer and and then he became the coach and I quit playing soccer because he sucked at life.Lesley Logan So for all of you who are promoting leaders in this world? (Brad: Well ... interesting.) It's just because you're the best at what you do does that make you a leader.Brad Crowell Well, I think I think it's interesting, right? Because the idea is lead by example. That's another phrase we've all heard lead by example, right? And so the assumption is, well, if you're doing it, you must be great it, you must be able to be the leader, because you can lead by example, you can tell them what you do. But that still I don't think that's what qualifies leadership, right? And he said, leadership, leaders inspire, leaders they ask, they don't tell. And then he said, for all you moms out there, you're the best possible leaders that the world has ever offered. I just thought it was really amazing. There were so many little takeaways like management is not is management is simply telling people what to do. Right. I mean, it was like, anyway, we just like completely jump straight in. But we had a couple things we wanted to say before we get started.Lesley Logan Yeah. Like if you're listening to this on the actual date comes out, Happy Thanksgiving. (Brad: Yeah, for those who here in the States.) ... in the States, and you know what, we actually did this in a newsletter in September, we sent out a gratitude just because because right now everyone's very grateful. But I want to be grateful for people all the time. But just in case you have not heard thank you for being you and thank you for listening to this. We are so grateful for you like we truly are and everything we really created on the guests we have on or because of the questions you give us. (Brad: Yeah) The things that you say that resonate. So thank you. (Brad: Yeah) Thank you so much. (Brad: And thanks for listening.) Yes. And this is the first Thanksgiving, Brad and I are not spending together. I don't think we've ever missed a Thanksgiving together.Brad Crowell That's true. I don't think I realized that.Lesley Logan We've missed a many and anniversary and Valentine's Day. (Brad: Every Valentine's Day for like one.) Yeah, because of the pandemic really kept us together. But this Thanksgiving you're in Philly.Brad Crowell Yeah. So I'm home with my family. My grandpa's getting up there. And I wanted to spend some time with him. And I only get to see him usually, like, once a year. And so I decided to go home for a couple weeks ... Lesley Logan And because of the pandemic. We even that one time a year we really didn't get to have ... And then 2020 yeah, 21 I got sick. And so we were a lot ...Brad Crowell Yeah ... and then you drove by. (Lesley: Yeah) And that's it. We saw a moved way fitterLesley Logan From the front yard as far away as possible. Anyways, yeah, so you're there, and I'm here. My don't don't don't cry for me. My dad and brother are here. And they're, they're gonna make sure that I probably go to the movies with them. And then my bestie Claire, you remember her from several recaps my slingshot friend, she's actually coming out here and I share this with you because on Saturday of this week, in the US it is shop small Saturday. So I have a tradition that I started last year where I go to all the small businesses and I shop small. And even if I don't buy anything from them, I post about them. Because it's really all about what you do in your community and like being there and being supportive of all of them. So that's really fun. And by the way, if you wanted to shop small, hi, that's us. This weekend, we actually have two things going on. So depending on what you need and what you want. We've got on onlinepilatesclasses.com. We do have it's a Black Friday, Cyber Monday sale, it's really a holiday sale, it started started yesterday. It's going to ...Brad Crowell It could start at the beginning of November. I mean, who knows at this point, right?Lesley Logan Well, I well, I refuse. Like the fact that I started before Thanksgiving is a little bit against my like values and like I hated seeing people in line on Thanksgiving Day at stores to buy TVs but since I'm online, and you you can do this from like sneaking out to the bathroom. On onlinepilatesclasses.com, we do have 50% off of legacy workouts and workshops from my teachers and myself. And also if you buy the mat flashcards as gifts for yourself or for friends, there's a discount on those.Brad Crowell Yeah, you can get up to 40% off on the mat flashcards ...Lesley Logan Yeah, so give the gift of Pilates here to yourself and others. On Profitable Pilates, we have up to 50% off of courses. So if you're buying courses that are have my face or Brad's face on it, 50% off, if you have you buy a course with another person's face on it 30% off and do not worry, your purchase is still going to support the course creators and to the Cupcake Girls Organization. (Brad: Right) We still honor those those charities with your purchase.Brad Crowell Yeah, that's awesome. So those, those will were those will only be available through the Black Friday, Cyber Monday holiday. So don't sit on this.Lesley Logan If you're listening to this in December or a random day in the future. Well, you can go and get those things, regular price.Brad Crowell Get on the newsletter. Get on the newsletter so you can find out about future ...Lesley Logan Yeah, yeah, yeah, we just you know, so thank you for listening. Still, the gratitude is there.Brad Crowell All right. Well, we had an audience question this week. And I thought it was really it's actually a question we've gotten multiple times in the past, because inside of our fitness business coaching group, Agency. We have a lot of people who have clients, everyone has clients in there. And we often have this conversation circle. Do you give your clients gifts during the holiday? (Lesley: Yeah) And if so, how, why, what what's the what's your thinking behind that?Lesley Logan Well, I think like it really just depends on the business and depends like it. Here's the thing. I love that you asked this question, all of you. And I know a lot of people listening have side hustles. And these clients are like, I got these gifts. Really, truly like, people are so grateful that you give them what you give, like you change their life, whatever it is that you are doing, you do change their life, and you add so much value that is already a gift. However, and I know that they often give you gifts, and so that makes you feel this reciprocity to give them something. (Brad: Sure) It depends, it really has to depend on you. If you've got a family to feed, if you are just starting your business out. They do not your clients are not actually expecting a gift from you. And they're not going, "Oh, Brad didn't give me a gift this year." (Brad: It's not my list.) Not buying, not buying that packet ... (Brad: Never buying again.) They don't do that. So in the very beginning,Brad Crowell It's kind of like the holiday cards.Lesley Logan We get holiday cards every year and we never send one. (Brad: No) And no one has taken us off the holiday card list. In fact, people still ask me, "What's your address? What's your address?" I'm like, "fucking in it." Like I want to see your house. I can't wait to see your kid and your dog and all those things. It's really beautiful. But the point is made no one is taking us off the list just because we didn't send a card of ourself we just we don't do that. We still have 26 teams Christmas cards signed and sealed without stamps on them in a drawer. (Brad: In a drawer) We tried everyone we've really tried. Maybe it was only 20 I think are 2020 There were like 2020. And that's the irony is that they're like, have a lit have a lit 2020. And we didn't send it. Anyway ...Brad Crowell We should put those in the mail. (Lesley: Oh my God that would be so mean.)Lesley Logan So to go back to this question, I'm not... as online business owner, we don't have any gifts that we are doing for anyone, particularly and even for our, our team. And that's because they live all over the world and we try to honor them on their birthday versus the holiday. The other thing is like (Brad: Well for your clients.) for my clients, when I had an in person client business, the first several years, I did do something nice. Like I either got them some Pilates socks, or I made some granola things or whatever, it was something really small, and ideally cost effective. And hopefully something that was like felt personal enough that they wouldn't just regift it.Brad Crowell I think one year we gave them like we had made a bunch of candles. (Lesley: Yes) So and those candles had like, you know, fun sayings that we wrote up on them or whatever.Lesley Logan Yeah, yeah, we did some fun stuff and, and they're personalized as best we can. But as my clientele got bigger, that became a cost I just really couldn't (Brad: Yeah) do. And then also one year, we just got really busy and it didn't do it. And no one seemed to notice that I didn't do it. So then what I did was actually just do a handwritten thank you card. (Brad: Yeah) It was very personalized, handwritten thank you card on holiday stationery. And people love that they gave me a card as a gift. And it usually had money in it, which was so nice. And then I gave them a card back. And honestly, they just were so grateful that I wrote something personal to them. So do I give clients get holidays? If you are loved language is gift giving, then by all means, like, (Brad: Yeah, do it up.) do it up. If it's not, if it's like my love language is words of affirmation and touch. So thank you card handwritten was something personally complimenting them, and hugging them at the holidays, really was something that felt special to me, because I didn't hug them every time they came in. I didn't give them cards every time they came in. So is there a special, but maybe, maybe your love language is acts of service. And so you can go do something charitable and their honor, like, so ...Brad Crowell Here's what I don't recommend, I don't recommend giving them a free session, (Lesley: No) or free class or anything like that. Your clients want to support you. Okay. And if you are giving them back the thing that they're paying for, it's going to devalue it. And they're going to be like, well, I pay you for these, what would make more sense is find a local restaurant with like, small business restaurant that you love, and give them a gift certificate if you really want to, but give them something like that. Or a local coffee shop or something that makes sense to them. If giving gifts is your love language.Lesley Logan And also like if you collaborate with small businesses and I was just talking to in a coaching call with one of our members and I actually gave her like suggested like, "Sir, I don't know why this is coming up for you. But like, is there like a local, like, farming gardening place that maybe can do seeds? Because your new studio owner for this area?" And she's like, "Oh my God, I can do like things for growing with us and like give everyone a seed packet." Right. Like, so ...Brad Crowell ... I can give one of the cactuses, you know.Lesley Logan Yeah, you can. Well, you already are, you're gonna leave a cactus on someone's porch. But like the other thing you can do, y'all is connect with these other small businesses. And maybe you don't pay for the full massage. But you get to pay for the cost of the massage like the like, whatever, it costs a massage place. So then you can get something that's affordable to you. But ...Brad Crowell Yeah, you're building relationships too. (Lesley: building relationships) You know you're supporting a local businesses.Lesley Logan And the massage place get potentially gets all these clients. (Brad: Yeah) So you bought them a gift certificate ...Brad Crowell I love that idea actually especially a massage place. (Lesley: Yeah) Or like a nail's place (Lesley: a nail's place) ... if you know they do the nails or something like that.Lesley Logan Can be a local maker shop. Like, if you collaborate with them, there may be instead of you paying for the full price of the thing, you can pay for the cost of the thing so that they're not losing any money. It's in your price range and and you're supporting each other's local business, because maybe they do the same thing for you. And they're like, can I buy my all of my people a mat class? Okay, a cost a mat class part for the teacher is this much. I can do this. So the answer is very muddled. I can tell you that right now. And what I would just say is do not ...Brad Crowell ... give gifts sometimes.Lesley Logan I don't think you should feel obligated to (Brad: Yeah) give a gift ever. And I think that it should really resonate with what you're doing. And I love that you said don't do this, don't give away your service for free as the gift. (Brad: Right) And, and and it should feel fun and not like an obligation otherwise you're not going to enjoy it. So, (Brad: Yeah) Yeah.Brad Crowell Well, I think that that wraps up that question, a great question.Lesley Logan Is that pun intended as a wrapping it up?Brad Crowell Yeah, we're gonna wrap it up in a bow. We just wrapped it in a bow. All right stick around. We'll be right back. All right. Let's tallk about Kevin Kepple. From experience with various types of leadership, with leaders I mean, Kevin realized that he was most energized by helping leaders maximize their genius through aligning their hearts. He's now a master coach, Gallup certified strengths coach, and a podcast, host of Unlock Your Freedom, where he inspires leaders to become more. Kevin loves helping people figure out whatever it is that slowing them down, stopping them or standing in their way and does this through the mastermind group he leads and of course, his podcast. This was a really I let he's got a dry sense of humor. I enjoyed that. But what I left really a lot about how much I was like, "Oh, I like this guy. I want to I want to hang out with him. And just talking about Strengths Finder."Lesley Logan He's in Dallas, so you can do that. You can, I think you can probably just do that. I think Kevin will be listening, because he knows we do these recaps. And (Brad: Oh fun) so yeah ...Brad Crowell He's in Dallas. (Lesley: He is in Dallas. Yep.) We're coming through Kevin. (Lesley: Yeah.) That's a call.Lesley Logan Coming on strong, Kevin ... I've been talking about I love because, you know, it's my turn. Um, so I he says how he said, how do you stay in your zone? And he actually talked about how strengths have a positive and a negative side, which I think is really important. I think it's, I think everything has that. Right. I think we forget even our yoga teacher was like, you can't have love without hate can't have peace without war. We're like, everything has its equal and opposite. And he use these words, are we in the balcony? Are we in the basement? (Lesley: Yeah) And I ...Brad Crowell Well before you go like the positive in the negative. I think that there is an assumption that we're making, because it's a StrengthsFinder test. They tell you your strength is x, but just because that's your strength. That strength still has the negative side. (Lesley: Yeah) Yeah, yeah. (Lesley: Well, and I ...) So the balcony in the basement.Lesley Logan Yeah. So he, he says like, he was talking about, like, there's a place where are you in the balcony? Like, are you like, overseen and like like, there's beautiful views on the balcony. Right? (Brad: Oh yeah) Or are you in the basement, which is like where you're like, kind of leaning into the negative side of it. (Brad: Yeah) So he gave an example, a maximized balcony is faster with mastery wants to be around it, it's healthy to be, to healthy to get to elite levels. And maximize a basement is noodling with a thing just to make it a little bit better, just like a little bit, like just like a little professionisti situation. (Brad: Right) And so ...Brad Crowell I know there's another like that I've often I've personally experienced with, with someone who was very close to me for a long time, where empathy, empathy can be an incredible strength. And I, I saw empathy used to really relate to people and connect with them and make them feel included and help them you know, come out of their shell and whatever. I also saw that same strength of empathy, bring this person down, where they were experiencing the same sadness, heartbreak, whatever, and it was a crushing, crushing them. Right. So empathy has both the balcony and the basement, right. So same thing with maximizer. Same thing with literally every single strength that they outline is strengths finders. So it's important to understand how it can be used in the positive and also in the negative way. Because you might be, you know, you might be being that perfectionist as a maximizer. I'm a maximizer. Right. So I I definitely don't think I struggle with perfectionism as it were. But I know, (Lesley: No) I find myself actually having these weird, like, like, I feel like I've got a window into OCD ...Lesley Logan You know what you're noodling as though, like you will try to get the system ready and prepared before the thing is even happening, like, you'll, you'll kind of start to do the thing that someone else could be doing. (Brad: Yeah) And so just, yeah, like, just to get it done. And so I think that that's interesting. And I think it's been really fun, because we could just go up here in the basement right now. You know, I mean, we I've talked about this before, one of my strengths is woo, and the end like, he brought up woo, like, woo, people are like, they gotta meet the next person. I don't really have that problem. Like, let's go because I am an introverted woo person, but I did stay in a relationship because I was trying to win them over like you're the only fucking person in the world that doesn't love me for myself.Brad Crowell How interesting is that? How interesting.Lesley Logan Yeah. So I was like, oh, and I, I really tried to like, I don't want to downplay my woo so much that it almost like ended up not in my strengths, because I was so afraid of that happening. And now I'm like, okay, I get the woo. I get. I got the woo, wrangle. So we're good there.Brad Crowell Yeah, well, I was laughing. We go to the gym, and there's another group of people at the gym. Okay, and they are in a different class and other there's like a there's this weird rivalry now, (Lesley: But there's ...) between the other guy and our teacher and like, you know, and we go in and like the first couple of months, weeks, months, whatever (Lesley: weeks ... like a (Lesley: only been a month) the other people in the class like wouldn't make eye contact with us. But we were like all looking at each other across agenda.Lesley Logan But our group clearly has several wooers in it because (Brad: Oh clearly) we would like walk past we have to walk through their group because they like take over this one spaces next to all the weight. So we like walk through and all the wooers you can tell who they are because they're like ...Brad Crowell We're making eye contact with them ... We're smiling at them. Listen, hey. (Lesley: And then we're like, got a smile at them) Yeah ... our group over like she smiled. Yeah, okay, we're winning them over.Lesley Logan We've got two of the three. And at this point we now have they're all saying have a good night to us, (Brad: Yeah) except for the trainer. (Brad: Except for the trainer. It's really true.) The trainer is that as your peacocking thing? Anyway,Brad Crowell So anyway, but it's funny, because like, it can become a challenge. But also it can become an obsession. Lesley Logan Yeah, so again, balcony in the basement. So I could keep going. But that, I would just say like, one if you haven't done your Strength Finders, definitely do it. And then two really reflecting if you are in the balcony in the basement or whatever word you want to use, in your strengths, because it is true, like your best you could be so good at something that it becomes your your defaults, like your default default default. Don't ...Brad Crowell I think you could say it both ways. But but he you know, actually what his ... (Lesley: Demise) Yeah. Demise. (Lesley: Dramatic) He actually said, when when that's happening, when you're in the basement, chances are high that you're making it about you. (Lesley: Yeah) And you're not making it about somebody else. I need to win them over, I have to win them over. If they hadn't won, if I didn't win them over, then it's my fault, then I did something wrong. Right? Where, you know, like, think about that you stayed in the relationship, because he's the only person that wasn't liking you, for you. (Lesley: I know) The only and so you're like, I have to, I I ...Lesley Logan Everybody loves me.Brad Crowell Everybody loves you. 100%. You know, so you know, that's where it becomes that, you know, chances are high that if you're in the basement, it's because you're making it about you instead of about others where (Lesley: Yeah) you're not leading.Lesley Logan I'm into that. Alright, what do you love? I know, there's a ton of things. But (Brad: Yeah, yeah) anything else?Brad Crowell Well, so I thought this was I thought this was really fascinating. He talked about the idea of limiting beliefs, okay. And I talked about making it all about me, I, I can tell you that my beliefs were holding me back or holding us back that my beliefs are holding back our company from growing. And, but but he said something that I thought was really interesting. I never thought about it like this before. And I wanted to dig into it a little bit more. He said, innately we're all happy, right? When you're a child, you know, I mean, I guess you're happy and sad as a child, but you're curious, you're happy, you're excited to learn, right? He said, as we grow, we get all that stuff gets covered up with bs, that just doesn't matter. And he said, we've all heard of this idea of limiting beliefs. You know, and but he said, he said, we get stuck where, like, ... we've all heard of mindset, right? And he said, learn to master your mindset. And then he said, but also learn to master your heart set. And I was like, "What the hell's a heart set? I never heard of this." Right? And because mindset, I kind of think makes sense. Like, oh, yeah, you know, how you frame your beliefs, your limiting your beliefs, and all that kind of stuff. But he said, if you are not paying attention to your gut feelings, you're actually giving away half of your power, because you're stuck in the mindset.Lesley Logan I know he and Paul Epstein we met at an event in Nashville. Paul has a book. I don't remember the name. But it has to do with like head heart hands and like, you need to make sure that before you take action equaling hands that the heart and the head are (Brad: are aligned), are aligned. And yeah, so no one no one made that connection ... But me, because in that interview, because Kevin doesn't know, Paul, but maybe they do, maybe, but at any rate, like I is the first time we've heard anyone talk about the heart set here. And I do think limiting beliefs can feel very mind... But you know, if you aren't clear on what's going on in your heart, you can do all the mind work in the world, and it's not going to get you're not going to be able to overcome those things.Brad Crowell Well, because he talked a couple times about like the love, choose love over fear. I can't remember exactly what he said, but basically love energy. He talks about energy a lot. And he said he said basically, if you are stuck in logic in process and strategy, right, your only using 50% of your power. Right? That stuff's important. There's no question you need to be your mind the all that logic, you have to get to that point too. But there's a whole nother side of it of like, do I really want to be doing this? Is this the right decision? Is this the right person for me to be working with? Like there's a whole instinct that we have that we often I think it's the classic I think that the easiest way relate to this is with relationships where it's like, you're thinking too much go with your heart. You know, it's like more do you feel it? Or are you thinking it? Right? And, and it's like the people say, "Oh, my heart wants to, but my mind won't let me." Right. (Lesley: Yeah) Like, get into a relationship. I know, this was me. This was totally me. Like when we were dating, my, my heart was in it, but my mind was like, "I'm afraid, I'm afraid, I'm afraid. I had this negative experience that hurt me before, like, danger, danger, danger, and it was all up in my head." But my heart was like, "Kept bringing me back to this place." And there came a point where I had to, like, literally, like, make a mental decision, a logical decision of like, I'm just gonna go with this even though I'm afraid. (Lesley: Yeah) You know. And so anyway, that's like the heart versus that mind. So the mindset is, is only half of your power, that heart set is the other half of the power. I thought it was just really interesting. I'd never heard this idea before.Lesley Logan Yeah, I think what's cool about that is like, a lot of it, like follow your heart, not everybody what it's like or get your mindset, right. It's like you have to do both. (Brad: Yeah) So sorry. You're not gonna get out of this life just mastering one or the other. You gotta gotta have both.Brad Crowell Yeah, yeah, totally. So anyway, that was that was really, that was really interesting to explore. So I hope that that is revealing for you too, because maybe you are you consider yourself like me very logical. And very, you know, I don't know. I want to see it on paper to spell it out. Right. Where, I know you often will go with your gut. (Lesley: Oh, yeah.) You know, more often (Lesley: Yeah) so fascinating, fascinating. (Lesley: Yeah.) All right. So finally, let's talk about those BE IT action items. What bold, executable, intrinsic or targeted action items can we take away from your convo with Kevin Kepple? Why don't you go first?Lesley Logan Okay, this, I mean, like, I, it's a great takeaway, and it's super quick. And I want you to write them down. Ask yourself, somebody said, ask yourself, what do I want? Why do I want it? And then he actually did only another why. And he also said, don't ask yourself, How do I get it? And I think, first of all, many people talked about this, the how is going to fuck you up so many times over, because you're getting so stuck on the how it is possible, that you don't even have to figure the how out. Like it is possible that the how is already set up, and it exists. And if you are just really clear on what you want, and why you want it, you'll tell someone because we're so excited about what you want, and why you want it and your passions and be there and they're gonna go, oh, have you talked to so and so. It's like Brad wanted to work anywhere in the world, he wanted to travel for work, you'd always ... and he was trying to figure out the how on his own. And some guy goes, you know, your wife's doing that already. And needs someone to work with her. And like he gave you the how (Brad: Yeah) you had not seen.Brad Crowell Even it was literally in front of me. (Lesley: Clearly) Yeah.Lesley Logan Right there with hot pink hat on right there. Um, so anyways, I just really love this because ...Brad Crowell So what do you want? (Lesley: Yeah) Why do you want it? Think on those things like, well, that's what you need to determine. You do not need to figure out the how.Lesley Logan In fact, don't figure out the how, like (Brad: Yeah) don't even don't do that just get really clear on that thing. And, and you may have to ask yourself, why a few times to get to the true, like the true why they get you up and going even when you don't know the how.Brad Crowell Yeah, I thought you also kind of comment that he said, how can we mix a little generosity into the why? Because he said sometimes passion is a little bit selfish. When you're like, all passion, right? You're you're not necessarily considering others. (Lesley: Yeah) So I thought that was interesting.Lesley Logan But that's but that's why you have to go to several why's. Because if you do like Dean Graziosi is like seven layers of why (Brad: Oh seven layers), seven layers of why. It's, you'll get stuck around five or six, and you just got a hold on and you'll come back to it. But that whole your why should make you cry. Like when you get that seventh one, he figured out why did he want to do all these things because he wanted to pay for his mother's home. He didn't want her to worry anymore. He wanted to make sure he did these. It wasn't about him. The first several whys were about him. He got further down. So that's like getting a why a few times. So you get to this bigger thing. And you're the thing that set with one usually has very little do about you and most have to do about the world and it has a generosity.Brad Crowell Well, my biggest takeaway was that he said, find a coach and pay Lesley for coaching. (Brad and Lesley laughs)Lesley Logan I did not pay him to say that.Brad Crowell No, we did not. But I thought that was hilarious. I think I think that the underlying concept though, is something that I've lived my whole life by. And the darker parts of my life were when I didn't have a mentor, or I didn't have a coach and I've talked about this plenty of times before, but I absolutely believe that you will go further faster when you have somebody that you're willing to submit your plans, ideas, concepts, you know, like energy, love all those things when you're willing to put yourself in a position where someone can sow into your life and weigh in in a way that you respect what they have to say, it is going to benefit you in an incredible way. And so Lesley and I are constantly finding coaches for ourselves to this is not something that we did once and we're done. No, we will have coaches or mentors for the rest of our lives. So we encourage you to do exactly the same thing. (Lesley: Yeah) Yeah.Lesley Logan I'm Lesley Logan.Brad Crowell And I'm Brad Crowell.Lesley Logan Thank you so much for joining us today. Again, we are super grateful for you. How are you going to use these tips in your life?Brad Crowell Oh, I am jumping in here. I know how I'm going to use these tips in my life. And Kevin, this is because of this guy. I went back and I listen to your convo two times. I am looking into becoming a certified Gallup Strengths Finders coach.Lesley Logan Oh, yes. You totally do that. (Brad: Yeah) I love that.Brad Crowell Yeah. I'm very excited. I already already sent off an email to Gallup to see what's involved in the whole program I already read about about the whole thing this morning.Lesley Logan That's so fucking cool. (Brad: I'm excited.) I'm excited. I'm slightly jealous, but I'm gonna not do that certification because I already have seven. This is so cool. Okay, well, Brad already told me but you have to tell me. So DM us at the @be_it_pod. Tell us your takeaway. Tell us what you're working on. Tell us what your strengths are. And make sure you tag Kevin Kepple because he'll want to hear about them too. (Brad: Absolutely.) Are you feeling isolated or alone? Perhaps in the middle of a busy life, and bustling crowds and multiple friends... but something feels out-of-sorts on the inside? Here's my story and learning. I am a people-person My natural gift is quickly making connections (see WOO on Gallup Strengthsfinder). I have regular, weekly calls with people I love and care about and who have a shared vision. We recently relocated 3,000 miles from California to Pennsylvania into an area where we know no one. I am SURROUNDED by connections all across the country and friends within 2hrs drive BUT have yet to find local, in-person community. Feeling out-of-sorts and not knowing why Last week I was wondering why I felt irritated, unsettled and out-of sorts. Here's a few of the context: - My kids who have grown to be friends, have left for college (thankfully we have one adult child with us!) - My wife, Janine, had COVID so was keeping her distance - My daughter couldn't come home for the weekend, as planned, because of COIVD in my house. - I have reached out to connect with a local law enforcement community to build a similar relationship I had in California... only the local establishment had no grid for positive connections with good citizens without an agenda. - We have visited four different local churches and have yet to find one where we all sense we belong. "Oh.... I'm feeling lonely!" In talking with my wife about what was going on I had a lightbulb moment (often happens in conversation with her)... I am feeling lonely! I have more-than-I-can-manage connections via phone and zoom and facetime and email. But I MISS THE FACE-TO-FACE connections and unspoken sense of security from being part of a city-community. I miss the significance of being engaged with something in-person, that bigger than me. The first step to change is acknowledgement It was a bit of a shock to realize I was feeling lonely. And at the same time, freeing. Oh, that's whats going on. I am having a feeling!!! So I sit with the Lord and begin to process it. Actually that started to unpack (unravel?) over the next few days. Denial (or believing lies) results in unhealthy behavior I became aware of lies that I was starting to believe that were REINFORCING loneliness. Maybe I don't fit. Maybe I just don't belong... I am not wanted. I am unloved. I am an outcast... I am rejected. This progression of thought is ENTIRELY what the devil wants to do with you. To lead you down a progression of thoughts that first self-protect, then isolate, then lead to depression and ultimately death. I was being passive They also result in passive (or perhaps victim-like) behavior - waiting from someone else to reach out or introduce themselves or include you. STOP IT. Change your thinking - Divorce rejection Thanks to my wife and the Holy Spirit prompting I found the problem and now had a choice to own it and change it. That looks like this... "Jesus, thank you for loving me. Thank you for paying the price for me to be one with you. I have been feeling lonely. I have started to believe the lies that I don't fit or don't belong... Please forgive me for partnering with lies and listening to the spirit of rejection. I receive the acceptance and adoption and security and identity that you freely gave me. Thank you that I am accepted and I belong and I am a member of your family. I divorce rejection! Jesus, what do you want me to know instead?" Take a moment to pause and listen for what the Holy Spirit says... I immediately heard him say of me "I am in the right place at the right time with the right message and the right people," and that "I am dearly loved by all who know me." I wrote that down and use that as a weapon every time I recognize a lie trying to creep in. Take the initiative Dealing with the lies and reconnecting with who Jesus says you are is the first step. Now there's some PRACTICAL things that you need to do to walk into freedom and life and healthy in-person community. Ask yourself - what could I do to take initiative and reach out? Here's what I did and am doing: - Have dinner with some new connections - Introduce yourself at local church... don't wait for someone else to come up to you - Take initiative in your local community connections => I have joined the local Chamber of Commerce and emailed the contact regarding one of their leadership programs that introduces participants to the key people and influences of the community => I am going to a local Economic Development Corporation meetup that happens to be this week - Ask Holy Spirit what else... - I am taking more time in my office to pray in the Spirit and worship with Youtube Bethel Seek further resources If you recognize you need more help to get free from thinking and behaviors that have made you passive and/or powerless check out some other helpful resources: - Read Shifting Atmospheres (and accompanying workbook) by Dawna de Silva - Read/watch Spirit Wars by Kris Valllotton - Find a counsellor or get a session with Bethel Sozo (link here) - See Orbis Ministries for Resources on inner healing and deliverance - Join Heaven in Business online community - Heaveninbusiness.com/free-trial and meetup at our weekly live call for encouragement, inspiration and activation

Für Friederike Voswinckel, die ihre Angst davor, Hilfe anzunehmen, in unsere Feuerschale gibt, ging es genau durch diese Angst hindurch. Sean: What kind of leadership style have you adopted that you found to be most useful for your company, for your team? Ven: That's a great question because I did not adopt it. It was always been who I was. So that's the thing. I found the best parts of myself and offered that. I think you - Sean and I are familiar with strengths, and strengths development. So I lead with futuristic. So I also lead with ideation, strategy, competition, and relator. So that unique combination of strengths is who I am. I had to use the best of me for the company. So if I had a different set of strengths, I would be a different kind of leadership style. So I had to look at and own who I was and be able to use that. Ven: So for me, I'm futuristic, so I love thinking about the future, I love planning, I love telling others about what I see and giving them a lot of excitement about what we're going to do. Let's look at the technologies, all the cool things, all the gadgets. Let's get into the cloud and the automation and all of that, everything. And because that's who I am, and if I try to be like, let's say I wanted to be just like my dad or just like my mom. I would do a very poor job of that because I don't have those strengths. I had to be the best version of myself. Ven: That's probably that kind of thing - I didn't really adopt it. It's who I am. And that's what SCPA, our company, got. So if they got a different president, they would get that person's best as well. I'm not going to force that guy to be like me. In the same way, I will never force my kids or my nephews and nieces to be somebody who they're not, but offer the best of yourself and understand yourself. So that's one of the hardest things right, then really in a company, actually, we have everybody take that strengths finder test so that everybody knows what they're good at and how they could offer that to everybody. And even though they're not yet in a leadership position. Ven: And, you know, there are times, you know, the imposter syndrome strikes. I wish I was like my dad. He was like this. He was like, I wish I was like my mom. She was like this. She was like that. But in the end, I have to be satisfied with the strengths I have and they're pretty awesome as well. And what's funny is that when you talk to the others and they're going to say,' Oh, I envy you have that, I envy you.' And then we just stay in the company and let's work together, right? So that's the best thing because you have things I really need, you know.' So my sister and I, she has an activator. I just love working with her because anything that I want to happen, she just likes, just gets it done. Perfect for futuristic. So yeah. So you have to adapt it. I would say that in our company we adopt the strengths that you have. We offer that up as your best. Sean: Yeah. For those of you tuning in and who're not familiar with Strengths Finder, just look it up online. Gallup Strengths Finder 2.0. Very powerful stuff. And as SEO-Hacker, we also use that. So all of our regular team members, unlock their top five strengths and we use that to see who they are, profile them and see if they're at the right seat on the bus in our company and how we can utilize their strengths as well. So very good stuff. And we all have strengths. These are things that we love doing, we look forward to doing and we are really good at and we focus on using our strengths in our lives, not just at work but in our family, how we lead our kids or how we deal with our parents or siblings. I think that overall we will have a better quality of life and better temperament as well. - - - Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/leadershipstack Join our community and ask questions here: from.sean.si/discord Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/leadershipstack

Join me for today's podcast about confidence, and consider ways in which you can learn more about your strengths and personality, and include others for your areas of weakness. Whats up Happier Dentist fam! Have you ever felt frustrated about losing partners, team members, and associate doctors - causing you to need to be perpetually looking to hire on new people that require more of your much-needed time, energy and resources? Sometimes, it's simply in the way we communicate or the potential lack of compassion, that we can create an environment of distrust and disloyalty. And sometimes, it takes a bit of a leap of faith to seek out someone to help you point some of these things out. Only then can progress and improvement can be found.

We’re starting a mini-series on knowing and understanding our strengths and weaknesses as we build our businesses. Today I’m asking whether you know your core competencies. We’ll cover what this means and how it fits into your life and business. Let’s begin by talking about marketing efforts. Most businesses make decisions by using a SWOT analysis. This looks at their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to figure out whether they should enter a new market or launch a new product or service. Unfortunately, few people in the online business space are looking to their strengths and weaknesses to figure out what opportunities they should pursue. This is why so many entrepreneurs struggle and don’t enjoy their business. Intuitively, I built my business around my strengths. This is part of the reason that I live in the flow state. I hope this episode will give you permission to build the right business for your strengths. Entrepreneurs tend to be obsessed with personal development, but we often don’t pay much attention to it when we build our business. Some personality assessments can limit the way we see ourselves, but other resources like Gallup Strengths Finder are more useful and granular. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN TODAY’S EPISODE: Once you’ve figured out your core competencies, this will allow you to do 3 significant things. You can understand what you bring that is unique to you. How am I different, and how does this help me make a particular contribution to this space? For online brands, YOU are the unique selling proposition. You can figure out what products to offer or create. Your strengths and personality should shape the kinds of products you offer in your business. You can understand your weaknesses, and this is important. When you know your weaknesses, you know where you need to get help. In my years guiding clients in improving communication techniques, whether that's for keynote speaking or simply presenting themselves and their work, I've found that when we uncover pivotal moments in their lives and career, their most meaningful stories, they become more comfortable and confident to speak - anywhere. As you listen to this podcast, consider the stories you share and how you share them. Think about how those stories build your personal brand, and how people perceive you based on the stories you share. You'll hear me ask specific questions, revealing details that create an image in the minds of both the storyteller and the listener. This is a key to improving relationships with yourself and others: Being able to share your story in your voice with your genuine intent to connect with those around you. --- Sabrina Woods is a typical Type A personality. She thrives on setting goals and smashing them out of the park. For most of her life she pushed and climbed, and spent almost every moment DOING. At some point, though, she started to feel tired. She started to question the constant doing, and began thinking more about being. She was in between jobs thanks to a reorganization in the higher education institution she was working with, a couple of car accidents, and other stressful events, when she invested in herself by going on a silent retreat over a long weekend. Sitting on an Adirondack chair, looking out over an open meadow, Sabrina became attached to the idea of letting go, allow for flow and openness, and take a break from pushing so hard, from beating herself up over the situation she found herself in. As often happens, within a few months of "letting go", a perfect part time position dropped into her lap. If you've been in that tough spot, or you're in it now, worried for the future and listening to the external voices about what you should do, it might be time to let go. Consider the worst-case-scenario, and the true likelihood of that situation occurring. Sabrina walks us through an example of this strategy during this insightful episode, full of insights, entertainment, and of course... stories. We touched on how our strengths show up as we make career decisions and in the projects we take on. I promised to reference our strengths here. She is a Gallup certified Strengths coach and uses that tool to coach her clients to improve their communication in all relationships, and to find more satisfaction at work and at home. Your life is controlled by what you focus on. — Tony Robbins About This Episode: This forced pause is an opportunity to reassess our values and priorities, and maybe even a wake-up call that the life path we were on may not be the right direction. Hi everyone, welcome to this episode! I'm delighted it comes on the back of Episode 6 ‘How to set yourself up for a Successful Day in the Office - I got a number of comments and requests around “And what happens next - I have done all the coaching with my agent / Teamleader / Member of staff - but somehow the performance doesn't improve.” Now - let's be clear - not every team member we have is also in the right role! Here's what I mean by that: You followed the recruitment guidelines, you hired a person to the best of your judgment. Maybe you used a matrix to calculate somebody's “fit for role” state and the number was fine. For example over 7 on a scale of 1 - 10. Yet the person is not performing . You may have promoted somebody into a role, for example an Agent has become a Teamleader. Your firm has given training for Teamleaders, you have done your one to one's on a regular basis - yet the individual is not performing. And to make matters worse, they don't seem to be enjoying the job . You may have been desperate for support, hired a person into a role in a hurry - lets face it - we all have done that - and now it's not working out. Now - you have got two options if any of the above scenarios occur: Option 1 - you can fire the person (of course you need to be within the law…) Option 2 - you can proactively help the person to become successful - either within your company or elsewhere. Here is where the LEAP PDP comes in! Using a personal development plan with your staff takes the individual in question into account - in fact - the individual himself is in charge of the plan - you as their manager provide the coaching or counselling relating to the plan. You can download the document for yourself - the link is below. The LEAP PDP consists of 3 Steps: Plan your career Manage your review Implement and update your Plan To illustrate I'm using an example of a Teamleader, let's call him John, whom I managed a couple of years ago. John had been promoted internally from Agent to Teamleader - and he desperately wanted to move up to Operations Manager. I saw his potential - but somehow his own team's performance was not there, he got frustrated very quickly and he threatened to leave. Honestly, people, I don't react very well to threats and thought somewhat grumpily - well then just leave! However - my passion for people and their development quickly got the better of me and I brought John into my office, explaining that I was putting him on a personal development plan. And you know - John's initial reaction was…. Well why don't you fire me? Why are are putting time and effort into a PDP? - My answer - because I am a Kolbe 8 (I need to find the facts before I make a decision) and my biggest Gallup Strength is Relator - I manage relationships very well. So we got to work. Step 1: I issued John with the LEAP PDP form and invited him to start his own personal assessment. If you work in a forward thinking enterprise, you and your teams probably have some form of personality testing - use that as a baseline. In step 1 we are looking at the strengths John has, based on either Myers Briggs, or Gallup Strengths Finder or Kolbe A+ index and how these strengths show up in his daily conduct with this team and the wider organisation. None of us is perfect - I also invited John to take a very close look at his development needs. In order to assess whether we really needed to help him with additional skills (based on his development needs) or - indeed should further enhance his strengths, John is now looking at his career objectives Where does John see himself in 1 year, where in 3 years and where in 5 years? Unsurprisingly - John saw himself as Ops Manager in 12 months and then as Ops Director in 3 - 5 years. He also wanted to be come competent in Lean Management and he wanted to be involved in Bid Management. However - his development needs where two fold: His own team didn't reach targets, despite daily huddles, one to one's and constant in-the-moment coaching that needed attention. John identified one individual bringing the teams morale and performance down - but he was afraid to act because he didn't know the HR implications and was worried the agent in question might take a case against John or/and the firm . John had an understanding of “cost saving was necessary in the business” - but he couldn't identify opportunities and address them accordingly. As a result of a) John's strengths , b) John's Development needs , c) John's career aspirations we agreed the following development objectives: Understanding basic HR people management skills Activity: I sent John on a 10 weeks HRD course @ the local University to familiarise himself with the law, with how we manage performance, exchange views with other aspiring managers. The measure to show that what he learned was really holding clear: He managed said “disruptive” agent clearly and precisely. On a weekly basis and ensured he had all the necessary facts to take an educated and fact-based decision as to whether or not to “help the disruptive agent” to be successful elsewhere. - You notice…. I don't fire people. I'm not Alan Sugar :-) My firm ran internal LEAN courses - I put John onto a lean course. As part of the course he had to complete a small cost saving project - which we both agreed would be our Development Measurer. Both activities had very clear completion dates. We also jointly agreed - that we would work together for 9 months and that I would do my utmost to get him into a position where he could confidently apply for the next Operations Managers Position. Step 2: My own commitment in this process was that I regularly reviewed the progress with John. Now - when you engage in longer term development of your staff you want to schedule these review meetings quarterly - to allow your staff member time to learn and implement what they learned. Step 3: Review and update the PDP on an ongoing basis! - meaning - as soon as one Objective was achieved - we looked at the next one! The LEAP PDP became an evergreen tool. I recently spoke to John, who is now a successful Operations Director in an In House Contact Center environment. Needless to say - I'm proud of John and what he has achieved over the last 10 years. I have of course had situations, where it became clear over the course of a PDP, that the individual would be much happier in a different role. So you can see - Personal Development Plans not only serve direct career advancement; they also are a very clear indicator with actual options how to get there for a career change. Earlier - I mentioned popular personality assessment tools. Here they are again: Kolbe A Index: measure the cognitive behaviour we are actually born with. The link is below. Personally I am an 8 - 6 - 4 - 2 8: Fact-finder 6: Follow Through 4: Quick Start 2: Implementor Gallup Strengths Finder - measures all your skills and identifies the top 5 you should be working within, For me that's Relator, Individualisation, Analytical, Ideation and Arranger . The details of how I use these results in my business and my career are for another episode! It doesn't matter if it is a sport, a for profit business, a non-profit business, or even a family when it comes to developing a "high performance team" there seems to be some commonalities. The first is we are all pretty aware that all teams go through pretty much the same phases, from forming to storming, to norming, to performing. But how we get teams to successfully transition through these phases requires a some tools or maybe some hacks to get through them. Please welcome Omar L. Harris. He is an entrepreneur, expert on high performance teams, and a certified strengths finders coach. And he has written Leader Board: The DNA of High Performance Teams, in what I call the compiled "best of" collection of books synthesized them and created a practical guide to helping you develop your team into a high performance team. Leader Board starts with Sam a.k.a coach who is under a tight deadline to promote an anti cholesterol medication for a pharmaceutical company and takes you through the challenges that it takes to get a team to from initially forming to the final performance in front of thousands of people. Then Omar Harris breaks down each element in what calls Team Performance Acceleration Principles (TPAPs). Where every book such as Good to Great, 7 habits of highly effective people, 5 Dysfunctions of a Team, Gallup Strengths Finder, Irrefutable laws of leadership and more is broken down and practically and applicably applied. Omar L. Harris has created a book for everyone. From starting a team to tweaking your team, to working in the midst of an old team. Whether you are an owner, manager, consultant, or team member Leader Board will enlighten you, encourage you and inspire you. When scaling up a company, finding the right people is the hardest part. We love to work with people based on their strengths, and find ways to align this with the overall company culture. Today’s show focuses on the deep work necessary to develop a thriving values-based business. Brandon Miller is the co-founder and CEO of 34 Strong, an employee engagement firm that helps build great workplaces. Brandon and his team leverage the Gallup StrengthsFinder tool to help identify and maximize employee strengths. Brandon’s ultimate career choice as a young child was to become a teacher and a football coach. However, that changed at 22 years-old and he became a young pastor instead. He served 2,500 congregants at his church and was in an executive role, where he managed 28 staff members. He wanted to improve his workforce by building a strengths-based culture around it. When it comes to values, it’s important for leaders to be clear on what the core values for their organization are. Studies show that people have retention for no more than four values in their lives. Therefore, looking at a list of values and picking off all the ones you like might seem great in theory, but it rarely pans out in practice. People need to know what each value means and how it can be carried out in the team. Cultures are built, and they cannot be bought. Culture, at its core, starts with leadership. It has to be something where the leader can be an example. In order to create a successful culture, it has to pass the ‘Three M Test’. You’ve got to be able to Message it, it’s got to be a Model, and it has to be Mirrored back to you. It's human nature to focus on what's wrong. We're often taught to achieve balance by strengthening our weaknesses. But what if we just need to be aware of our weaknesses and not necessarily spend time on them? Focusing on your strengths will help you go further. Why? Because you can hire someone who is strong in the areas where you are lacking. That's the beauty of teamwork. When you're focused on your own strengths, you'll also start acknowledging it in the people around you, creating a better work environment. To dive deeper into this approach, I've brought on Darren Virassammy, the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of 34 Strong. A leading expert in the global Employee Engagement community, Darren leverages the Gallup StrengthsFinder assessment to create massive shifts within organizations, both culturally and on the bottom line. Today's Topic: Improving relationships, excelling in business, and managing your weakness. Kim and I are newly obsessed with the StrengthsFinder assessment, and this week we're going to share how you can leverage this tool to improve your relationships, excel in business, and manage your weakness. What is StrengthsFinder? This assessment measures and ranks you on a unique set of 34 natural talents, as opposed to skills, and identifies your five greatest strengths. When you become aware of your strengths – and the strengths of the people you live with or work with – it's easier to take advantage of each others' strengths and work as an effective team. Can you imagine what using this knowledge can do for a business team, or a couple? You can take the Gallup StrengthsFinder test here: gallupstrengthscenter.com. We recommend taking the full 34-strength test. It's a little more expensive than just the top five, but it's just as helpful to know what your weaknesses are so that you can better manage them, too. This Episode’s Focus on Strengths Today's episode features Steven Beck, one of the top Gallup StrengthsFinder experts. In fact, he trained Lisa back in the day! This interview focuses on the concepts of peak experience, how to use your Top 5 to bring out the best in others, and great information on how to make a practical connection between your core strengths and the values that are most important to you. Listen in...you'll learn a lot today. Steven's Top 10 StrengthsFinder Talent Themes: Communication, Woo, Maximizer, Strategic, Activator, Self-Assurance, Individualization, Ideation, Futuristic, Focus Lisa's Top 10 StrengthsFinder Talent Themes (looks pretty similar, huh?): Strategic, Maximizer, Positivity, Individualization, Woo, Futuristic, Focus, Learner, Communication, Significance What You’ll Learn In This Episode Learn what your peak experiences are. Steven talks about the yearning he had to really do something different, yet he wasn't sure what that was. And he didn't know where to start with a career change. After reading the book, Never Buy a Hat If Your Feet Are Cold: Taking Charge of Your Career and Your Life, by Ken Felderstein, Steven asked the author to meet for lunch so he could ask him questions. Ken asked Steven this key question: What are the peak moments you've had in your life? These moments will give you a glimpse of excellence, and should show you what you really yearn to do. Once Steven answered this question, and figured out what his peak experiences were (clues to natural talent), he knew he wanted to be a speaker. Over time, he kept pushing himself out of his comfort zone, until he became a strong speaker and trainer. This was the first step that led him to connect with the Gallup team and the Clifton StrengthsFinder tool. Use your Top 5 to bring out the strengths in others. Steven uses himself as an example of how to use your own strengths to get projects done, while bringing out the best in others. He figured out that, for him, his Communication talent theme is really a story telling strength. His Woo strength is his ability to find common ground within a group, and his natural Maximizer talent is his ability to figure out how he can use a thing in many situations - an efficiency strength. This helps him to pull others' stories out. It also creates his unique version of Woo, which helps him shape how a group interacts with each other. Then, once the group has been strengthened, his Activator strength kicks in, and stuff gets done. You can apply the same method to your own strengths, by figuring out how one strength affects the other, thereby bringing out the strengths in others. Make a connection between your strengths and your values. Pick the values that are most important to you, not the ones that you think are correct, or that others expect. For instance, the values most important to Steven are passion, family, health, autonomy, and emotional well-being. Once Steven understood what his core values were, he used this to guide him toward establishing Steven Beck Consulting, and still helps him determine which projects he wants to work on, and whom he wants to work with. As a reminder to always consider his values, Steven has a sheet of plexiglass over his desk, and underneath it are things that remind him of each value. One values reminder is a postcard his daughter sent him of a food trailer in Austin, TX (because he loves his daughter and Austin, even though he lives in Irvine, CA). Another values reminder is the phrase "Learn, Love, & Live Toward Strengths," which was mentioned by the late Gallup StrengthsFinder coach, Curt Liesveld. He includes other items they discuss in the audio, and each one reflects important elements from his life. During the interview, Steven mentions this quote by Curt, which sums up this idea, "You live out your strengths through the foundations of your values." According to social scientist, Daniel Kahneman, there are 20,000 moments in every day - pay attention to particular ones, to know how you are influencing your team members. Each time you interact with a team member, ask yourself, "Was I fully present and mindful of the other person? Did I focus on that person and the value she brings?" Look back, and determine whether a particular moment engaged the person or not. Steven lists three outcomes: Red: Was the person devalued, disengaged? Neutral: Do I even remember what happened during the interaction? Green: Was the person more engaged, and left feeling valued? Lighten someone else's load for better teamwork and productivity. By this, we don't mean to take on that person's tasks, we mean to take away some of the emotional burden people feel toward their team members. When you listen to this interview, you'll hear a great example of how one team went from wanting to kill each other, to a place of acceptance of each other. The team learned to come from a place of fascination about each individual person, instead of from a place of frustration. I had the privilege of talking with Jim for the podcast and it was a blast. I discovered Gallup's Strengthsfinder back in 2006 on a friend's recommendation and thought the test was very useful. As I mention during the episode, it's something that helped shape and build my CV as I transitioning to work in marketing & brand strategy. More recently, thanks to my friend Adam's recommendation I found out about the Gallup Strengths Webcast series Called to Coach and Theme Thursdays hosted by Jim from the Gallup Campus in Omaha, Nebraska. I enjoy listening to both regularly and reached out to Jim to find out if he'd be up for participating in a recording. For those who don't really know, Gallup is an international research, performance and management consulting company. It was founded by George Gallup in 1935. Advertising legend David Ogilvy joined the company in 1938 and worked there for 10 years before opening his own advertising agency, Ogilvy & Mather, one of the largest advertising agencies in the world still to this day (Also where James Whatley works, recently featured on the podcast). Gallup were particularly known for their opinion polls in the US, and then the company was acquired by Positive Psychologist Don Clifton's company SRI in 1984. Jim has also been interested in new technology gadgets for a long time, in particular home automation gadgets and home networks. He started a podcast network called The Average Guy, that now features several shows including their flagship Home Gadget Geeks, Cyber Frontiers, Home Tech Tips, Tech Reviews, and Ask The Podcast Coach. We cover a lot of ground in the show including Jim's time in the U.S. Army, his skiing in Europe, growing up in the Silicon Valley, Gallup Strengths, The Omaha College Baseball World Series, home gadgets and more. Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it. ~~ Bruce Lee Click Below to Listen to Today's Show Insert Podcast Link Here Don't go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it. Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself. . . . Who Do You Think You Are? Who are you? What is it to be yourself? About three years ago, I started wondering who I was, or more specifically I was looking for what my calling was. I wasn't happy with my current career choice. I had worked in the field for many years but wasn't feeling it any more. I had actually changed careers from that career about 5 years earlier, but went back into it after the mortgage crash. I had left IT and Enterprise Content Management and went into a sales role as a Loan Officer. I loved it, but the mortgage crash dashed that career. At the end of that run, I also purchased a Coffee News franchise. I became a publisher of "Good News" and sold advertising to local businesses. I loved it, too. While doing these two careers I started attending Business Networking International (BNI) and learned how to network. I joined and worked in the local Chambers of Commerce. I loved it. I loved to network with the local business and community leaders. I loved helping businesses grow and build their business and networks. Unfortunately, the economy that was driven by the real estate and building market in the local areas I worked went down considerably and that business failed as well. I was unable to pay the bills, unable to afford insurance, etc. I found a part-time job working at a local grocery store bakery for a couple years and work my way to a Bakery Manager position. I always strive to be my best and excel. I couldn't just be a bakery clerk. But, this wasn't what I wanted to do forever. I started looking for something with my prior experience and skills that could bring in a good salary. I was offered a position in the field I had left before in Enterprise Content Management in Lending and moved to California. After a couple years I realized I wasn't happy doing this. It paid well. I was well respected among my peers, but I just didn't enjoy it anymore. I wasn't feeling like I was making an impact. I wasn't feeling satisfied or significant. I heard about and then read Jeff Goins' book, The Art Of Work. Jeff said to think about what you were doing when you were the happiest in your life. What were you doing when you loved going to work or what did you do when you weren't at work that made you the happiest? Pick up Jeff's book here: On GoalGettingBook.com / Audible or [amazon template=image&chan=goalgettingpodcast&asin=0718022076] I sat down one day when I went for an early morning walk in the East Bay hills near my house, which I loved to do. I started thinking about when i was happiest. I realized it was when i was when I was doing these things: meeting new people marketing business networking working with and building communities online and offline speaking at events training people motivating others to reach and achieve their goals social media writing I joined a new Toastmasters club our company started so I could improve my public speaking and start meeting new people in the company. I started taking marketing and social media classes at UC Berkeley Extension. I decided I wanted to start working towards a career in marketing, social media, public speaking. I realized that the type of career that would work well for what I wanted to do, what I wanted to be, what would make me happy and satisfied was something in the line of Community Management. I started researching and learning. This was who I was. This is what would make me happy. Really? How did I know? This has been a long discourse to get to the point of this podcast episode, which is to talk about "Who Do You Think You Are?" If, as Bruce Lee says, you should "be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself" then shouldn't you know who you really are? How the heck do you do that? I started by doing what Jeff Goins suggested. I did find my dream job as a Community Manager. One of the great benefits of our company is that they value their employees. One of the benefits is they often allow us to take personality tests. Yes, there are personality tests. I've taken a few over the years, but I never really took the results and looked at what they meant. They are developed to give you an idea of the strengths and weaknesses you have based on your personality. YOUR PERSONALITY, not someone else's. As Bruce said, "don't look for a successful personality and duplicate......" There are several of these types of tests: Gallup StrengthsFinder Myers-Briggs DISC 16 Personalities and more. . . . We have been given the opportunity to take a couple of these this year and I have been amazingly surprised how accurate they are. I took the Gallup StrengthsFinder and the 16 Personalities tests. Gallup StrengthsFinder The StrengthsFinder Test cost a few dollars to take, but it is well worth it. There are 34 Themes in this test. We signed up for the Top 5 Themes test that shows your 5 themes that define the majority of your personality. My top 5 are: Strategic Activator Self-Assurance Significance Futuristic These are my most dominant themes of the 34 the test shows. These are very important. The program also puts together an Action Plan for you to maximize these strengths. To help show what this means, here are the top 2 of 5: Strategic The Strategic theme enables you to sort through the clutter and find the best route. It is not a skill that can be taught. It is a distinct way of thinking, a special perspective on the world at large. This perspective allows you to see patterns where others simply see complexity. Mindful of these patterns, you play out alternative scenarios, always asking, “What if this happened? Okay, well what if this happened?” This recurring question helps you see around the next corner. There you can evaluate accurately the potential obstacles. Guided by where you see each path leading, you start to make selections. You discard the paths that lead nowhere. You discard the paths that lead straight into resistance. You discard the paths that lead into a fog of confusion. You cull and make selections until you arrive at the chosen path—your strategy. Armed with your strategy, you strike forward. This is your Strategic theme at work: “What if?” Select. Strike. Activator “When can we start?” This is a recurring question in your life. You are impatient for action. You may concede that analysis has its uses or that debate and discussion can occasionally yield some valuable insights, but deep down you know that only action is real. Only action can make things happen. Only action leads to performance. Once a decision is made, you cannot not act. Others may worry that “there are still some things we don’t know,” but this doesn’t seem to slow you. If the decision has been made to go across town, you know that the fastest way to get there is to go . . 16 Personalties When I took the 16 Personalities test, which is FREE, I find I am an ENFJ - The Protagonist. You can learn what each personality is and the characteristics of each. Like the StrengthsFinders test, I found the 16 Personalities test to be pretty accurate. Here are a couple of points from this test that I feel describe me: ENFJs are genuine, caring people who talk the talk and walk the walk, and nothing makes them happier than leading the charge, uniting and motivating their team with infectious enthusiasm. Charismatic – Charm and popularity are qualities ENFJs have in spades. They instinctively know how to capture an audience, and pick up on mood and motivation in ways that allow them to communicate with reason, emotion, passion, restraint – whatever the situation calls for. Talented imitators, ENFJs are able to shift their tone and manner to reflect the needs of the audience, while still maintaining their own voice. Altruistic – Uniting these qualities is ENFJs' unyielding desire to do good in and for their communities, be it in their own home or the global stage. Warm and selfless, ENFJs genuinely believe that if they can just bring people together, they can do a world of good. Natural Leaders – More than seeking authority themselves, ENFJs often end up in leadership roles at the request of others, cheered on by the many admirers of their strong personality and positive vision. Very interesting, and I have to agree they are fairly accurate as well. Essentially both tests say the same things about my personality. If you look at these traits and characteristics of my personality and the things that made me the happiest when I was doing them, you can see why. It is me. It is who I am. What's the point of all of this? It's to understand what Bruce Lee is said, AND it is to understand YOU. If you want to be successful at your career, if you want to live a happy, satisfied, fulfilling life, then you need to be you. You need to be yourself, express yourself and have faith in yourself. Find your calling. If you are in your calling, live it with passion. Find these personality strengths and take the action needed to use them for your life. I have a career now doing what I am. I am a Community Manager for the company I work for. I am a Podcaster, helping people set and achieve their goals. I help people take action and Get The Goals They Set. I am the happiest I've been in a long time doing what I love and what I am. Are You? Take one or many of these tests if you haven't. Be honest when taking them. Find out who you really are and then set your goals to be what you are. If your goals are not in alignment with who you are, then you will have the hardest time achieving them. Your subconscious mind will work to sabotage you. Don't let your mind play goalie for the other team! Go Out Today - Be Yourself, Express Yourself, Have Faith in Yourself. Today's guest following the words of Steve Jobs, is a remarkable woman, business lady, and entrepreneur who believes in something profound, and has created a career around that something too. Something that I buy into wholeheartedly. She believes that life should be built on finding your key strengths and leading the way with them. Not focusing on the things that you cant do very well, but finding the super talent that you do naturally well to then blaze a path across the world. Starting her career as a Sales Executive for Business To Business back in 1998, it appears that the path best trodden for her actually started when moving into staff development. Like myself she has spent most of her working life, building the strengths of individuals in corporations to make better, higher functioning teams. Getting people to feel inspired by the working day instead of dreading that ringing sound by the side of the bed. But what interests me is what personally was driving her back in the day. As with a career strewn with employment lasting a couple of years at each time, it is clear to me that her ambition, was equally matched with a desire to find her thing too. And now as a podcaster herself, or as she calls herself the Chief Strengths Sleuth: Host of the “Lead Through Strengths” Podcast: she helps people find and leverage their strengths at work. Complimenting her workshops, keynote speaking and by performing a role of StrengthsFinder Performance Coach, which as you know is a publication that I have recommended many times on the show she is busier than ever.. So what is it about keynote strengths that lights her up inside and makes her want to build a business around it? And is the inner talent something that is easy for someone to find themselves, or do they need a coach or mentor to point it out? And what is the fascination with moonwalking in offices, or leaping dramatically from exploding vans? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show, to start joining up dots, with the one and only entrepreneur Lisa Cummings. To hear more from Lisa Cummings go to: Podcast: Lead Through Strengths with Lisa Cummings | building engaged teams & stronger leadership w/ StrengthsFinder & natural talents By Lisa Cummings answers your career questions with the fun & irreverence of Pamela Slim & the practicality of Careerealism, using Gallup Strengths Finder to discover and apply your unique strengths Description: The Lead Through Strengths podcast was created for you if you're ready to stop taking the "path of most resistance" at work. It sounds silly, yet it happens all the time when people get focused on fixing their weaknesses. It doesn't have to be so hard. Stop focusing on what's broken about you. In Career Q&A, I'll show you how to find your strengths and put them to work. In the Manager Minute, you'll hear ideas for leading your team so they can come to work feeling more energized and engaged. If you're ready to get your career mojo back, Lisa Cummings delivers it with straight talk and a fun-loving approach. Listener career questions are answered in less than 15 minutes per episode. Strengths evangelists and effective leaders also guest host to offer more ideas you can put to use with your team at work. Here are some hot topic areas covered by audience questions so far: Getting promoted; discovering your strengths; getting energized and engaged with your work (yup, it's possible); differentiating yourself in an interview; career transition; marketing, branding, and promoting yourself; getting unstuck; connecting and networking; job search; personal leadership; side hustles; politics and perceptions at the office; getting viewed as an A player; building trust and influence at work or in your industry; money and happiness; how to get your creative mojo back; understanding how your EQ (emotional intelligence) is more important than your IQ at work; stuff you didn't learn in business school that's hurting your career; getting unstuck and un-trapped; and being a better leader Wanna be on the show? If you're a leader with stories about Strengths-Based Development, you'd be a cool co-host. If you have a question for the Q&A portion of the show, we'd love to feature it. http://pinchyourselfcareers.com/contact/

Remember in college Psych class you learned about Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs? Basically, there were 5 levels when Maslow first defined it. Now, they've added a few more for a total of 8 levels of needs to achieve self-actualization. And, Maslow hypothesized, that only 2% of our society achieve this. Where are you in the levels? Biological/ Physiological Needs: air, food, drink, shelter, warmth, sex, sleep. Safety Needs: protection from the elements, security, order, law, stability, freedom from fear. Love/ Belongingness Needs: friendship, intimacy, affection & love, from work group, family, friends, romantic relationships. Esteem Needs: achievement, mastery, independence, status, dominance, prestige, self-respect, respect from others. Self-Actualization Needs: realizing personal potential, self-fulfillment, seeking personal growth & peak experiences. Now let me tell you my story. Point is: If your basic needs (level 1 & 2) are not being taken care of, personally or financially, you won't have the space in your mind to focus on building the bigger things in life. By making your regular needs automated, personally and financially, you are able to free up that space to focus, create and build your wealth. Looking at the calendar, there are only 6 weeks until the holidays are here! That means (for most of the us) you have 3 paychecks to get ready. Here's a suggestion on how to prioritize, shop, and get ready so you can enjoy the holiday cheer! Make your 2 lists. (The first list will be split down the middle): Column A: Names of those you absolutely MUST buy a gift for Column B: Those who it would be really nice to give to. List 2: Realistically, write the amount of money from each separate paycheck between now & the holidays you can spend on gifts. Understand the consequences: You can buy it all on credit cards, but you'll have to pay interest. This could really set you back for your 2016 goals. Shopping & delivery: How valuable is your time? Handmade goods, baked goodies are fun to make: How much time do you really have? Shopping online: Consider paying a couple bucks to pay for wrapping, instead of spending days wrapping all the gifts. Chris Peach, of MoneyPeach, joins Think Enriched today. We discuss: Chris, first is a firefighter & paramedic, then started looking at his finances & found they were out of money. When they started doing the opposite of what everyone else was doing it started to work! In 2011, they had $52K in debt: credit card debt, auto debt & student loans. "I thought that's how life was: you worked; money came in; you spent it all." They paid off all $52K in 7 months! "When you stop your life, and you re-start it, and you do things so outside of normal, you can do these kinds of things!" "That light that you hear about at the end of the tunnel? It is way brighter than you believe it is!" Student loan debt: refinance to be smart & get a lower interest rate. Why Chris recommends SoFi; they work for the people, not just the bank and interest rates. Debit cards are not the Red-Headed Step Child of the finance world! The thing about car payments? They SUCK. Hear Chris's thoughts on car payments. How old of a car should you buy? Chris believes 4 years is about right. Opportunity cost in deciding on their next car. A lot of us are immature with money: "There is financial illiteracy in this country with money." We just haven't been taught the proper principles in handling finances. "No one ever talks about what happens when you finance your entire life into payments. I tell you what happens, you run out of money at the grocery store." This whole "getting out of debt thing is starting to become cool." Chris will send you the budget. You don't take a road trip without a fuel gage. "Everything we do in life, money interacts in it." Being on a budget is not like being walked on a leash- you create the boundaries that work for you. The one thing Chris would tell you: "Start on a budget." Have you ever walked into a store to buy one thing, like a towel, and left with entirely new bathroom decor? There's a name for it. It's called the Diderot Effect. In this episode we talk about: Our last episode, my husband joined us. We discussed our family's financial situation, progress, the highs & lows. Here are the numbers: January 2013, we had $57,000 of debt. We have paid off $41,000 total. We paid off $25,000 in 2014 and $16,000 in 2015. We have just the final $16,000 left on my student loans. The Think Enriched Review: Share the one thing you have learned about money this year! Send me an email to: amy@thinkenriched.com to share your Enriched Review! Diderot's Essay, written in 1769, "Regrets for my Old Dressing Gown, or A warning to those who have more taste than fortune." "Poverty has its freedoms; opulence has its obstacles." Have you ever found yourself suffering from the Diderot Effect? Like: You identify with stuff, as in, "That is so you." Brands are becoming part of your lifestyle and image. You buy things in sets for the look, rather than the actual need. Remember, it's just stuff. It's not part of your identity. It's just stuff! Look at how the stores are set up. They are created to help us buy much, much more than we need. Set your limits for you: make your budget, stay within your limits, and enjoy your purchases. You can support the show! Sure, we all wonder about how money works in other homes. Today, we open the curtain and share our struggle with money: the headaches & heartbreaks (that we can now laugh about); working through the fights; making a budget work; and finally, being able to see the finish line so close. It is nearly an understatement to say that our marriage has completely changed from figuring out the finances. Raul & I examine: What we remember of the early days of our marriage trying to figure out our budget. The resentment I had at that time. The turning point that was the biggest fight of our marriage: "the car fight" that changed our lives How I went to the first session of Financial Peace University by myself...and why Raul insisted I go. The discussion after that first session & insight to our desire to change our family tree. Instill hope: The reason I created this blog & podcast. Learning & getting on the same page, working together as a team; our marriage is better for it. The brutality of working through that first budget. Why Saturday mornings working through the budget is the best time of the week for us to make it work. And why Saturday morning budget time has become a habit. The Christmas budget: why we had to categorize where the money was going. Why we had to decide to allow our daughter to give this holiday. How we have found a balance where Raul focuses on the details, and I keep us looking toward the big vision for our family. What our friends & family have noticed about our situation. How having a budget has allowed us to be much more open about money. Who knew? The best example is to do it. When did Raul know we were on the right path? That very first night of FPU. The moment I knew we were on the right path? When we could do a budget in just a quick time. The story of "The Little Engine that Could" comparison to our finances. How the element of surprise has been removed from our budget. The jar analogy: the big rocks, the pebbles, the sand and the water. Raul is more analytical. I am more abstract and a feeler. We discuss how our communication styles have changed to be able to connect and reach out so that we are speaking the same language. What advice Raul has for you, the one who knows there is an important conversation that needs to happen to fix your finances. How having the budget eliminates the "awkward stressful conversations" in the store deciding on a purchase. What Raul's opinion on this podcast & what he has learned from this experience. How Raul has helped me figure out how to work from home, including: setting up business hours; finding balance in family and creating; and how we are making podcasting a part of our life- but not everything in our life. Raul asks me a question that I've never considered before. The element of finances in our marriage has enriched our entire relationships. Raul agrees to return with a status update on what we continue to learn about our finances. You've heard of the Think Enriched Crew, but are you in yet? Jim Collison, of The Average Guy Network, shares his insight on money mangement, working your strengths and how you can win no matter where you are in your financial situation! We discuss: How Jim & his wife, Sarah, learned about money while they were young & he was still in the military. How car payments forced them to pay for life on the card, which quickly added up to serious debt. Feeling guilty about debt? It seems like the easiest answer is to spend more money. Larry Burkett's book, The Complete Financial Guide for Young Couples, changed his entire financial perspective. "How we spend our money is outward indicator of an inward spiritual condition." Larry Burkett The budget can get blown out of proportion, but you fix it and move forward. In 18 months they were completely debt free. How he found confidence & hope to fix his finances that directed his family to live on an established budget for 15+ years. How Jim stopped doing the budget 8 years ago, and put it on autopilot with his transactions & savings. "I think budgeting and planning, super duper important." Set up your spending categories, understand the percentages of where to spend your money. Do an inventory to track your spending. Don't feel guilty about it. Don't try to change anything & group them into expenses. "You should always be saving." Your well-being goes up when you give things away, according to a Gallup study. "Budget your hours like you budget your money." "Most people overestimate what they can do in a month and underestimate what they can do in a year. So give yourself a year to try it." Measure, engage, & move forward on the budget. Gallup Strengths Finder 2.0 "Having a plan is better than no plan." Money equals options. We discuss my strengths to look at how Strength Finders is helping me. Themes x Investments = Strengths Try to discover your Super Power. We all understand that: 1+1= Way More than 2 Jim shares his highest & lowest strengths and how he works with that. Take the Strength Finders as a team, as a family, in relationships to build your best strengths. When using your strengths: Name it. Claim it. And Aim it. How High school students have an opportunity to do an internship at Gallup Credit Union. Girls are dropping out of tech programs in junior high.
