What if spiritual growth didn't require more intensity—but more consistency? In this episode of Michael Easley InContext, Michael is joined by Hanna Seymour to discuss her book Everyday Spiritual Habits and the powerful idea that spiritual disciplines are meant to become reflexes, not burdens. Drawing from Scripture, spiritual formation theology, and the science of habit formation, Hanna explains how small, daily practices—what she calls “seed habits”—can lead to lasting spiritual maturity over time. Rather than chasing an idealized version of quiet times or comparing ourselves to pastors and scholars, this conversation reframes spiritual disciplines as accessible, grace-filled rhythms for real life. Together, Michael and Hanna explore prayer, Scripture, joy, gratitude, celebration, solitude, and practicing the presence of God in ordinary moments—while also addressing distractions, comparison, and the pressures of modern life. If the world feels louder, heavier, and more emotionally exhausting than ever...and your spiritual practice isn't giving you the calm it used to...this episode is for you. What if the problem isn't that you're “doing it wrong,” but that you've misunderstood what peace actually is?In this reflective solo episode, Will shares a Zen-inspired story; The Silent Mountain, and uses it as a grounded framework to explore a very human question: how do we stay present, awake, and spiritually connected when the world feels chaotic and emotionally overwhelming? Rather than chasing spiritual highs or bypassing discomfort, this conversation reframes spiritual awakening as a spiral, not a summit. Peace isn't found by escaping the noise of life...it emerges when we learn how to relate to it differently. This is modern spirituality without platitudes, gurus, or denial of reality.Key Insights & TakeawaysSilence isn't the absence of sound, it's the ability to remain internally steady even when life is loud.Spiritual awakening isn't linear; growth happens in cycles, with ascents and descents that are equally meaningful.Feeling anger, grief, or outrage doesn't mean you're failing spiritually, it means you're engaged with the human experience. The danger isn't emotion, it's getting stuck in it and losing perspective, agency, or gratitude.Awareness changes everything: when you stop fighting the “noise,” you begin to notice the larger pattern...the symphony underneath it all.You can hold gratitude and discomfort at the same time without invalidating either. Why This Conversation Is Different This episode avoids spiritual clichés like “just stay positive” or “everything happens for a reason.” There's no spiritual bypassing, no denial of injustice, and no promise of instant peace. Instead, Will explores consciousness and metaphysics through lived experience, acknowledging real emotional weight while refusing to let it collapse into despair. It's an invitation to stay awake inside the mess, not pretend the mess isn't there.Listener Reassurance Questioning doesn't make you cynical. Feeling overwhelmed doesn't mean you've lost your way. And curiosity does not equal gullibility. This is a space where skepticism and intuition can coexist, and where modern spirituality is allowed to be honest, imperfect, and deeply human. Call to Action Listen with curiosity, not expectation. Reflect on where you might be fighting the noise instead of listening to the larger rhythm beneath it. And if this episode resonates, join the conversation, because navigating awakening is easier when we're willing to talk about it honestly. The Skeptic Metaphysicians is a pragmatic spirituality podcast for curious minds exploring the unknown without abandoning critical thinking. Each episode breaks down metaphysics explained through grounded conversation, examining hidden truths behind spiritual awakening, consciousness expansion, and expanded consciousness. We explore intuition, mediumship, spirit guides, and the mechanics of healing and personal transformation—bridging skeptical inquiry with meaningful spiritual experience. If you're navigating your own awakening or questioning reality while staying intellectually honest, this podcast is for seekers and skeptics alike.Subscribe, Rate & Review! If you found this episode enlightening, mind-expanding, or even just thought-provoking (see what we did there?), please take a moment to rate and review us. In this episode, Candace reflects on a powerful moment from Jay Shetty's podcast with climber Alex Honnold — a reminder that success is often just a brief moment at the end of years of repeated failure. As a climber, Alex shares that failing is constant. Projects can take five or six years of trying, falling short, adjusting, and returning — all for a few minutes of completion before moving on to the next challenge. That perspective opens a deeper conversation about how we relate to failure in our own lives.Candace invites us to reframe failure not as something to avoid, but as the very substance of the journey itself. The repetition. The discomfort. The trying again when it would be easier to quit. If things came easily, the moment of arrival wouldn't carry the same meaning.Failure builds character — grit, determination, endurance, and the ability to stay present with uncertainty. It shapes us quietly, teaching us who we are long before we ever “succeed.”This episode is a gentle reminder to stop leaving dreams in the closet or ideas stuck in the mind. To start the thing. To do the hard thing. And to walk forward knowing that failure isn't a sign you're doing it wrong — it's proof that you're on the path.

Questions? Comments? Text Us!Can God speak through more than one religion? In this episode of From God to Jerry to You, philosopher Jerry L. Martin explores a central insight from God: An Autobiography, As Told to a Philosopher: that divine wisdom may be working through many religious traditions across history, not just one.Drawing from his recorded conversations with God, Jerry reflects on the idea that different religions may carry distinct spiritual assignments for different cultures and times. Rather than competing versions of truth, these paths may represent a spiritual “division of labor,” each revealing something essential about the divine. This vision leads to what Jerry calls Theology Without Walls — an approach to faith that remains open to truth wherever it appears, including in other religions, philosophy, literature, science, and lived experience. He also introduces the idea of a “New Axial Age,” a turning point in spiritual history in which seekers begin drawing wisdom from multiple traditions while deepening their personal relationship with God.Whether you belong to a particular faith, identify as spiritual but not religious, or are simply curious about how divine guidance might move through different cultures, this episode offers an expansive and hopeful view of humanity's shared spiritual journey.Listen, reflect, and experience the world from God's perspective — as it was told to a philosopher.Other Series:The podcast began with the Dramatic Adaptation of the book and now has several series:The Life Wisdom Project – Spiritual insights on living a wiser, more meaningful life. From God to Jerry to You – Divine messages and breakthroughs for seekers. Two Philosophers Wrestle With God – A dialogue on God, truth, and reason.Jerry & Abigail: An Intimate Dialogue – Love, faith, and divine presence in partnership. What's Your Spiritual Story – Real stories of people changed by encounters with God.What's On Our Mind – Reflections from Jerry and Scott on recent episodes. What's On Your Mind – Listener questions, divine answers, and open dialogue. Stay ConnectedRead the book: God: An Autobiography, As Told to a Philosopher at godanautobiography.com or AmazonShare your questions and reflections: questions@godanautobiography.comShare Your Story | Site | Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | YouTube

What if consciousness isn't passive...but responsive? *SCROLL DOWN FOR SPECIAL OFFERS FROM HEATHER!*In this episode of The Skeptic Metaphysicians, we explore a grounded, modern approach to the Akashic Records, not as a mystical abstraction, but as a living field of consciousness that reflects your patterns, choices, and potential in real time. Our conversation reframes the Akashic Records as a practical tool for intuition development, spiritual awakening, and soul purpose, revealing how energetic patterns influence relationships, money, leadership, and self-trust. Rather than predicting the future, this work focuses on helping you recognize what's running your life right now, and how to participate more consciously in your own spiritual growth. We unpack how intuition actually works, why skepticism can be healthy (and necessary), and how consciousness may behave more like a relational system than a static database. Along the way, we explore topics like non-linear time, manifestation as momentum rather than wishful thinking, and how ancient wisdom is increasingly intersecting with modern science...including research into water's intelligence and the quantum field. This episode is especially for seekers who love modern spirituality but crave clarity, agency, and grounded insight, without bypassing real life. In this episode, we explore:What the Akashic Records really are (beyond the “cosmic library” idea)How intuition development works in everyday, practical termsWhy spiritual awakening isn't about prediction, but participationThe role of consciousness in manifestation and decision-makingHow skepticism can strengthen spiritual growth rather than block itWhy consciousness, energy healing, and even water may be deeply connectedHow to explore spiritual insight without abandoning critical thinkingWhether you're navigating a period of awakening, questioning old belief systems, or simply curious about how consciousness actually operates, this conversation offers a grounded entry point into modern spirituality...with depth, nuance, and zero fluff.Participate in our 2026 Listener Survey:https://www.skepticmetaphysician.com/survey/2026-listener-survey/OFFER #1 - AKASHIC TRAIINING:UNLOCKING ACCESS TO THE AKASHIC RECORDS... Not lost. Not rebellious. Just… stalled. This message, "Don't Stay Ordinary", is for anyone who loves Jesus but feels like their faith hasn't moved forward in a long time. It's for those who grew up in church, those questioning what they were taught, and those deconstructing parts of their faith while still holding onto Christ.Paul reminds us that spiritual maturity isn't about appearances, comparison, or religious performance. It's about trusting God with the slow, patient work of growth. The Holy Spirit isn't given as a status symbol—but as a gift for transformation.Recorded during Snowmeggedon 2026, this episode has a more relaxed, living-room feel—but the message is clear and timely: God meets us in ordinary places, and He is still at work, even when growth feels slow or invisible. If you're weary, questioning, or longing for a faith that feels real again, this episode invites you to take a breath, stay rooted, and trust that ordinary is not the end of your story.Linkoln shares his story on why he started coming to Ravenna Church of the Nazarene and shares why you should consider doing the same.Ravenna Church of the Nazarene530 Main Street, Ravenna, KY 40472Support the showThe Dirt Path Sermon Podcast is a place for real sermons that speak to real life. He emphasizes the importance of in-person gatherings for spiritual growth and the dangers of relying solely on digital connections. Pigg argues that true community involves shared experiences, relationships, and accountability, which cannot be replicated through online platforms. He encourages listeners to engage with their local churches and foster genuine relationships to fulfill their spiritual needs.TakeawaysTechnology can connect us, but only a gathered community can provide spiritual formation. The digital church mimics community without forming authentic relationships.Biblical community is about sharing life together, not just consuming content.Spiritual growth happens in close proximity to other believers. The church is called the body of Christ, and we need each other to grow.Online church makes it easy to consume without contributing. Each person in the church has a role to play in the community.Christianity is meant to be lived out, not just downloaded. If no one notices your absence, you may not be truly engaged in community. We need to recapture a biblical vision for community.Sound bites"Technology has made us more connected than ever.""The digital church is a lie. When relationships are complicated. When we've felt hurt, abandoned, or misunderstood. But over time, blame keeps our attention focused outward, tying our sense of peace to other people's choices and behavior. In this episode, I share honestly from my own life, my marriage, my recovery journey, and what I've witnessed walking alongside hundreds of people on their healing path. For me, blame often showed up as “trying to help,” “pointing things out,” or wishing someone else would change and how spiritual practice helped me see what was really happening underneath. We explore how releasing blame doesn't mean minimizing your pain or pretending things didn't matter. It means becoming willing to be honest with yourself, to turn inward, and to stop giving your power away. When we choose responsibility ovRecover Your SOUL CIRCLE Group coaching with Rev Rachel is now open for enrollment.Join a sacred space to deepen your healing, connect in community, and walk the Recover Your Soul Process together:  1. Pastors Caleb and Chrissy Cole share the Word for the Year for Project Church: Fresh Wind. From Acts 2 and the story of Pentecost, they call the church back to prayer, presence, and waiting on the Holy Spirit. This message teaches that before God moves us, He must first fill us, and that Fresh Wind softens hearts, renews passion, and aligns believers with God's mission. A call to enjoy God's presence, not just perform religion, and to make prayer the primary vision. How can God use a weak and broken life for His glory? What does it mean to truly follow Christ? In this episode, we reflect on the life of David Brainerd, a frail and often melancholy man who wholeheartedly obeyed Jesus' call: “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19). Despite sickness, loss, and rejection, Brainerd chose hardship over ease, taking the gospel to unreached Native American tribes. Through deep prayer and dependence on Christ, he witnessed powerful revival and lasting fruit. His legacy, preserved in his journals, has inspired generations. Like Brainerd, may we follow Christ with our whole hearts and pray to be used beyond what we are.

Join us as we explore the profound teachings found in Matthew 22:35-38 and Deuteronomy 6:4-5, shedding light on what it truly means to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind.Main Content:Section 1: The Greatest CommandmentIn Matthew 22:35-38, an expert in the law tests Jesus by asking which commandment is the greatest. Jesus responds emphatically, stating that we should love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind. This powerful commandment sets the foundation for our relationship with God. It emphasizes that our primary duty is to love God in every aspect of our lives.Section 2: The Call to LoveThis call to love is echoed in Deuteronomy 6:4-5, where it states, "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." Here, we learn that loving God is not just a suggestion but a command that requires our utmost devotion and strength.Section 3: Seeking God FirstMatthew 6:33 further emphasizes the importance of prioritizing our relationship with God: "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." By seeking God first, we align our lives with His purpose, allowing everything else to fall into place. This pursuit of God should be our highest priority.Section 4: Obedience and DesireIn 1 John 5:1-3, we understand that love for God is demonstrated through obedience to His commandments. True love for God is not just about following rules but having a genuine desire to obey Him. The struggle of "white knuckling" through obedience highlights that without a heartfelt desire, our actions may become mere obligations.Section 5: The Role of the Holy SpiritThe transformation that occurs when we genuinely seek to love and obey God is empowered by the Holy Spirit. Revelation 3:18-21 reminds us that when we are corrected and rebuked by God, it is out of love. This leads to repentance and a renewed zeal to do His will. When we feel that desire to follow God earnestly, we can be assured that the Holy Spirit is guiding us.Key TakeawaysIn our journey to understand God's love, we find that loving Him wholeheartedly is our greatest commandment. This love compels us to seek Him first, obey His commandments, and be open to the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. By prioritizing our relationship with God, we not only experience His love but also become instruments of His will in the world. Let us surrender to God, allowing Him to reign over our hearts and lead us in His love.Tags: God's Love, Greatest Commandment, Spiritual Growth, Matthew 22, Deuteronomy 6, Holy Spirit, Obedience to God, Faith, Christian Living, Seeking God First

Reading, knowing and studying the Bible are not enough to change us. It is not until we apply what we read, know and study that our lives begin to be different and we experience God's peace in our hearts.
