Abra Berens, cookbook author and culinary director at Granor Farm in Three Oaks, offered a risotto recipe that works as the perfect catchall for your farmers market finds this spring. After you hear her tips, find the full recipe below: Spring Risotto This risotto can absorb any random spring vegetables like asparagus or ramps even baby carrots or radish. I just slice them thinly or into a small dice and then add in place of the peas. The broth is a great way to use up old parmesan rinds, but isn’t strictly necessary. 1 onion, sliced thinly 4 cloves garlic, minced ½ cup dry white wine 1 ½ cup risotto rice 8 cups water, parmesan broth, or stock, brought to a boil 2 cups shelled peas, fresh or frozen 1 lemon, zest and juice In a large frying pan, heat a glug of olive oil over medium heat Add the onion and garlic with a hefty pinch of salt and sweat until soft but not browned Add the wine and reduce until dry Add the rice and toast for a couple of minutes Add a ladle full of hot liquid to the rice and stir continuously until the liquid is absorbed Continue with an additional ladle of liquid and stir until that is absorbed Continue adding ladle after ladle of liquid allowing to absorb fully between additions When the rice is 90% cooked, add the peas and an additional ladle of liquid Finish with the lemon zest and juice along Taste and adjust seasoning as desired To serve finish with a hefty glug of olive oil and any herbs or pea shoot over the top See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Spring is a popular time to visit Colonial Williamsburg, not least because it's “lambing season,” the time of year when baby lambs are born and take their first steps (which is obviously very, very cute). But small as they are, these lambs have a big baaa-ckstory (sorry) – they are part of a breed that was once guarded like a trade secret, was smuggled into the American colonies, went extinct in the US in the early 20th century, and then was brought back right here at Colonial Williamsburg. Detroit Lions Podcast: 2025 OTA Week 1 Wrap-Up, Ragnow Updates, and Preseason Outlook The first week of 2025 OTA workouts is officially in the books, and the Detroit Lions are already making headlines as they set the tone for what could be another dominant season in the NFL. In this week's episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Jeff Risdon break down everything you need to know about OTA progress so far, insights from Coach Dan Campbell's press conference, a closer look at the newly released Detroit Lions preseason schedule, and what the absence of minicamp means for player development. This will also help temper the need to answer questions about contracts if players aren't there... One of the biggest storylines coming out of OTA Week 1 is the uncertainty around Frank Ragnow. While the All-Pro center has not made any formal announcements, his absence and cryptic comments about physical wear-and-tear are raising questions about his long-term plans—and potentially his contract status. We discuss what's known, what's rumored, and what the Lions might do next. We also touch on Alex Anzalone, who is going into the last year of his contract and likely wants to rework the deal to match his status as a leader on the defense. Lastly, the Detroit Lions schedule for the 2025 NFL preseason is out. We highlight key matchups, especially those that could serve as proving grounds for fringe roster players and newly drafted talent. Ending our April cruise in Maui (Hawaii), we headed home to Chicago for the duration of the spring. We did take a short flight to Orlando to close on our new (to us) house at the Great Outdoors (TGO) that will be our winter home starting in 2026. This house has a nice RV port which will give our aging MH a covered parking space during the off months. We chat about many RVing topics as our attention turns to RVing in the summer. After a quiet stretch during much of 2024, wildfire smoke from Canada is once again drifting into the United States. Summer planning round 3, ding ding ding. I share a lot of my life because I am part of the Organize 365® brand. I've been podcasting for over 12 years and over that time I have shared a lot about me, my life, and my family. Recently I shared how I wanted to spend the next 120 days upleveling the upstairs of my house. Those plans changed when Abby decided to have back surgery. And once again those plans have changed. And when evaluating my boundaries, I asked to share some news on this podcast I'd been withholding to explain why all the changes. My personal life A year or two ago I started practicing boundaries. My family has never been upset with anything that I shared but I started thinking they are adults and it's their news to share when there's news. I don't need to share everything. And a year ago I decided to stop sharing vacation/trips with social media and on the app. But then I wanted to share something while I was on a trip and I questioned my boundaries. I've decided I have boundaries in place but when I want to share something I will even if it goes against those boundaries. My boundaries are flexible. Unexpected golden window When Abby's back surgery got cancelled, I removed the “When Abby has back surgery” google calendar and my calendar was bare! I'd dedicated about 80% of my upcoming time to take care of Grayson and Abby. Now what did I want to do in this unexpected golden window? People often ask “I have so much to do, but when I have a pocket of time, I don't know what to do first.” I say all you need to do is just pick. I had lots of options when that time opened up on my calendar. I decided I want to make the PhD a priority. You see, Abby had to do some pre-operation bloodwork that revealed she's expecting. Yes!! Hence the surgery is off. This discovery led to a cascade of changes for the next 120 days. The second thing I decided I wanted to do was revisiting creating an office upstairs in our house. And I created a little bedroom upstairs for Grayson like I'd mentioned before so our house is ready for this next phase of life.  Wanna know how I'm gonna spend the rest of this time?  Italy, a Wedding, and a Baby Knowing the baby is coming in December, I want to plan our Italy trip for this fall. It's been cancelled a few times, and I want to go before Abby needs us with baby #2. More news I've been keeping private is that Abby is engaged and they're getting married in the Spring of 2026, so we definitely need to squeeze this trip in. Pray for me as I plan this wedding. LOL So travel, travel is the other thing I want to do for this 120 days. By the time you listen to this episode I will have just come back from Michigan. Greg and Joey are headed to the Keys. When we head to FL I'm taking Grayson to Disney (secretly hoping it becomes our little tradition.) I'm taking an adult field trip to VA. And I'll be planning this Italian trip for the fall that we've talked about taking forever! So I have a few things keeping me busy.  I will not be creating any courses or Sunday Baskets® for weddings, vacationing, or any other courses based on the events currently in my life. I'm not a public figure that is going to try to be an expert in everything I do. When I created Organize 365® I chose a subject I was an expert in and a subject that I wanted to talk and teach about until I was at least 80.
