Ecuador: planning Listener Story Spotlight I want to tell you about a listener named Pat who loves to take 40-minute walks. She does one every day. We have traveled together to Spain and have been ski buddies for over 10 years. She's a superb figure skater and loves cats. Maybe you even know my friend. Her last name is Brown, inspiring me to go to the Galapagos Islands this year. Thanks, Pat, for that encouragement. The FAQ for today is: How do you choose your outfits for weather conditions that constantly change? The answer is more straightforward than you think: It's basic colors, basic footwear, and layers, including a layer of insulated and waterproof clothing with a hat. You can also buy things along the journey, so if you don't have one now, you can get one later. What brings you more confidence? Is it knowing where you are going to sleep tonight? Is it knowing the language? Is it knowing you don't have to worry about anything? Let me know your thoughts. If you like today's Confidence Challenge, Chapter 2 of my book dives deeper—the link is in the description." See Book A for addressing all of these items. Destination Deep‑Dive Where am I headed? Ecuador Here's a personalized travel itinerary for your Ecuador and Galápagos trip, tailored for a solo female traveler who loves the ocean and beach swimming. It includes suggestions for activities, safety tips, and recommended accommodations.

But the wiser participants in the scene, including DJ Seinfeld and Ross From Friends, got out early and almost without exception carved out successful careers for themselves.Baltra, a Philly native who got into music after a move to NYC, epitomised that trend. His 2019 album Ted - a tribute to to his late father - was a step outside of the parameters of the scene that had got him noticed, and since then he's established himself as a fixture on the global DJ circuit and one of house music's most interesting producers. We discuss all of that, plus his previous, slightly inauspicious career on Wall Street and his experience working in the sector during the biggest crisis in the industry since the 1929 crash.Get involved!--If you're into what we're doing here on the pod then you can support the show on Patreon! A Daily Chronicle of AI Innovations on December 12th 2024
Mynt, a Swedish fintech startup, secured €22 million to expand its AI-based platform for corporate cards and spend management for SMEs, growing its customer base from 3,000 to 12,000 in a year, with plans to expand into the U.K. and other European markets. Google has requested the FTC to investigate Microsoft's exclusive cloud arrangement with OpenAI, which could stifle competition. The FTC's broader probe into Microsoft's cloud practices may lead to significant regulatory changes in the AI industry. Apple has integrated OpenAI's Chat GPT into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, enhancing Siri's capabilities. This move raises privacy concerns but promises advancements in AI functionalities and potential new revenue streams. General Motors will discontinue its Cruise robotaxi program, impacting minority investors and leading Microsoft to record an $800 million impairment charge. GM will integrate Cruise into its broader operations to develop advanced driver-assistance systems and fully autonomous personal vehicles, aiming to save over $1 billion annually. Apple is partnering with Broadcom to create its first AI-specific server chip, code-named Baltra, to reduce reliance on Nvidia and enhance AI capabilities across devices like iPhones and Macs, with mass production expected by 2026. This initiative could disrupt the AI chip market and foster innovation and competition. OpenAI's new video-generating AI model, Sora, can create 20-second videos from text or images, raising legal and ethical questions about copyright infringement and fairness in AI development practices, with potential lawsuits and regulatory scrutiny looming. Google's launch of Gemini 2.0 Flash marks a significant advancement in AI, offering enhanced performance and multimodal capabilities, integrating into various developer platforms, and addressing ethical concerns with SynthID watermarking technology. The new AI model raises important ethical considerations regarding job displacement, privacy, and accountability. Russia aims to boost its AI capabilities through international collaborations, particularly with BRICS nations, despite challenges due to Western sanctions. President Putin's strategy includes forming the AI Alliance Network to foster global AI research and development and leveraging partnerships to mitigate technological and economic constraints.
We catch up with Wagga based trainer Gary Colvin who added to his metropolitan record when Cambar scored a tradesmanlike win in the TAB Highway on Nov. 30th. Gary's hoping Cambar will emulate the deeds of stable favourite Another One who won a Championship Final in 2022 after having finished second the year before. Gary begins our podcast by talking about Cambar's two early wins at Wagga when ridden by stable apprentice Holly Durnan. He looks back on his purchase of the little colt at the Inglis Premier Sale in Melbourne. He got a second opinion from Warwick Farm trainer Greg Hickman who'd trained the colt's sire Pierata. Gary says Cambar has been a thorough professional from the day he was broken in. The trainer retained a part ownership of the horse while the remaining shares were snapped up by old friends. He says one of the quartet is a first time participant. Gary looks back on childhood days growing up with his six siblings on the family farm at Tullibigeal. He says his father was never without a horse or two on the property. He pays tribute to uncles John and Noel Colvin, both very successful jockeys. Gary says he was 17 when he joined three of his siblings in Wagga. He pleased his parents greatly when he registered for an apprenticeship in joinery. He talks of his progress in the old world trade. He talks of his passion for Australian Rules Football, and reflects on his involvement with the Wagga Tigers and the Collingully side. He plays down reports that he was a very accomplished player. Gary remembers his short stint in a coaching role. He looks back on Fred Colvin's move to Wagga and a renewal of his trainer's licence. He assisted his father for eleven years while training a small team of his own. When Fred retired in 1997, he was ready to train in his own right. Gary hasn't forgotten the mare who provided the first win of his full time training career. He acknowledges the special horses to get him up and running as a commercial trainer with special mention of Baltra and Lock the Key. The accomplished trainer takes us through the circumstances leading up to his purchase of Another One at an Inglis Classic Sale. He's never forgotten the instant he first saw the chestnut colt. Gary talks of Another One's pedigree and the 15 strong syndicate who got together to race the horse. The trainer recalls setting the talented horse for a maiden 2YO at Wagga. He and the owners were stunned when a Randwick trained youngster from the John O'Shea yard turned up for the same race. He takes us through Another One's progression to his first tilt at the Country Championship. Gary followed a similar path the following year and the gelding again made the final at Randwick. This time he prevailed in the highly prized event. He pays tribute to Another One's regular rider Nick Heywood who wages a fearsome battle with weight to stay in the saddle. Gary talks of Another One's Kosciuszko failure and his most recent wins in the Riverina. The trainer speaks highly of Danny Beasley who rode the horse to victories in the Canberra National Sprint and the Wodonga Cup. Danny recently joined the Wagga training ranks and is situated right next door to the Colvin stables. Gary talks of wife Karen's picture framing business in Wagga, and his willingness to lend a hand in the early days of the operation. He says his assistance was not needed. Gary talks of daughter Gabby who's currently a highly regarded member of the Melbourne Women's AFL side. Her dad's pretty chuffed. He makes mention of sons Brodie and Matthew. One prefers the thrill of trying to back a winner- the other enjoys being around the horses. Good to catch up with yet another talented member of the country training ranks.

Housepedia Podcasts #HomeIsWhereHouseIsPlaying 160 I Moskalus Moskalus was born and currently resides in Ostrava, Czech Republic. He started his musical journey back in 2007 when he created his first YouTube channel where he would upload music from various artists to help them promote their music. With his second channel, he started doing music videos because he wanted to be a part of the scene, not only as a regular uploader, but as someone who wanted to express his own feelings. In November 2014, he had his first big break by making the music video for Bambounou's track "Onto This" which was released on 50 Weapons. After that, he gained a greater audience that helped him to work with labels such as: Lobster Theremin, Shall Not Fade, Die Orakel, Pinkman and Lehult. He has also had the opportunity to work with artists such as: Baltra, Fjaak, J. Albert and Benedikt Frey. After years of listening to music and making videos for such artists, Moskalus has developed a wide-ranging taste. In his DJ sets you can expect to hear anything from disco to house, techno, UK Garage or dubstep from the golden era.
--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/hechosecuador/message

With two releases on Toy Tonics, a record under past guests Rhythm Section, as well as showcasing music from artists such as Ross From Friends, Baltra and Seb Wildblood on their own Squareglass imprint, we are certainly excited to bring you an episode from such impeccable selectors: Athlete Whippet. The duo met at London's Goldsmiths, with a passion for music bringing them together. One now works at !K7, the other developing live sets for the likes of Priya Ragu, Berwyn, and Lapsley; their spare time is spent crafting incredible music with a live bass, guitar, piano, and some hardware synths and samples. Their Bside selections pay tribute to their influences and musical connections; records on Tartelet, Rhythm Section and Toy Tonics, incredible artists like Max Graef, Paula Tape, Jitwam, and COEO all making the cut. This week's show covers new music from an LA and NYC combo, of American Dance Ghosts and Baltra, a new dance banger from NYC's Doss, a lounge-y new track from Austin's Flyjack and London's Scrimshire, and some new indie rock from Philly's The Districts. For the archive pick this week, Mark is heading back to 1995, and to the second volume in the late rapper Guru's Jazzmatazz series. This is the sort of jazz-infused rap that Guru and Gang Starr before Guru went solo were known for, which got an upgrade from Guru's connection to Blue Note Records and their treasure chest of hard bop and fusion styles from the mid-1950s to the 1980s, before the reissue boom reanimated the label in the ‘80s and ‘90s. Of course, there are six more bonus tracks, but you have to sign up for our email newsletter to get those. It's pretty easy to do, if you just click this link. (And do so without fear. We won't misuse your email address, as this show is run by two guys, Mark and Brendan; Not some faceless corporation.) Lastly, don't miss our fabulous Spotify playlists. We make one for each episode of the show, so grab the latest if you are up to date, and dig into previous episodes if you are new here, or just curious. Have a terrific week!

Lots of energy on this uptempo track from Jackson Ryland @jackson-ryland. Step Recordings @step-rec is releasing another treasure, this time coming from this artist affilaited with Future Times. The US producer has been making quality music as a solo artist as well as in projects alongside Max D (as Superabundance) or as Rush Plus, with Jus Nowhere. His latest solo EP "Most Necessary" lands on Catz N' Dogz' second imprint Step Recordings, following releases from the likes of Baltra, Third Son, Ruff Stuff, MSM, and more. The 4 tracker is a collection of on-point club-focused weapons, opening up with "Vanilla Extract", a moody Techno track driven by a stomping 4/4 kick drum. Following is our favorite, "Spine Realign", a fast paced relentless dancefloor killer. The title track is another powerful gem, a straight Techno cut, guided by tribal percussions. The EP ends with the broken-beat inpired "At This Pace", a mysterious tune permeated by spacey atmospheres!

@step-rec starts its 2021 with a bang: in January they drop an EP coming from Shall Not Fade and Madhouse's usual suspect @ruffstuffcrew. After releasing music from Baltra, Pantera Krause, Third Son and more, Catz N' Dogz are adding another rising talent to their Step's catalogue: Ruff Stuff. The Italian born, Berlin based producer delivers 4 hot House tinged tracks to warm up the winter.

Visitar a Fundação Charles Darwin e evoluir evoluir evoluir.

Brighton’s Tech Support is destined for big things. The mild-mannered DJ and producer, known as Ned Dickinson to his friends, already finds himself caught up amongst some of the most talented artists and selectors of the moment, and deservingly so. At just 21, there are a stack of EPs on labels from the UK to the U.S. bearing Tech Support’s name. Dig a little deeper and you’ll find equally impressive work under long forgotten aliases. On top of his 12” releases found in the likes of Juno and Piccadilly Records, Tech Support’s digital presence sees him racking up over 100,000 views on esteemed Youtube dance channel Houseum, alongside the likes of Folamour, Baltra, and Lone. Strap yourselves in, Friday is off to a cracking start. Artist: @tech-supportuk

To say she's officially been to the end of the world, Alison goes to Bahía Lapataia. She takes a boat ride to Isla Martillo where you walk with the penguins. An off-road adventure in Tierra del Fuego National Park where "you can see all the beavers". On to Kalma Resto, for some gourmet bites. A little gambling at "The Casino at the End of The World". It is so cold in Ushuaia, so Alison has the bar at the hotel make her some local Yerba Mate, with a splash (or ten) of whiskey.LULU'S 10K DAY - MEXICO CITY, MEXICO: (51:50) Lulu stays in a luxury suite at the St. Regis. For breakfast she tries La Esquina del Chilaquil. After some exploring, she eats lunch at Restaurante Nicos.
