When Greg Crumpton pulls up his sleeve to reveal his Kaizen tattoo, you understand immediately this isn't just another trades professional – this is someone who has infused continuous improvement into every fiber of his being. The veteran HVAC expert, author, and industry advocate shares a career journey that spans from scribbling notes in a black book while running service calls in the 1980s to building and selling a successful mission-critical air conditioning company. His perspective cuts through today's workforce challenges with laser precision. "Our inability to take care of our country from a skilled trades aspect is a national security issue," Greg asserts, reframing trade careers as essential to American infrastructure security. This isn't hyperbole – it's the conviction of someone who has witnessed firsthand how skilled labor shortages threaten our fundamental systems. The conversation explores why today's trades landscape looks so different from decades past. As baby boomers retire and Gen Z enters the workforce, Greg identifies a troubling 30-year experience gap created partly by removing trades education from high schools. His solution emphasizes personal responsibility: "If you're a tradesperson or craftsperson, grab a couple of youngsters and walk with them." His own mentorship approach balances classroom theory with immediate hands-on application, creating what he calls "learning on steroids."Most powerfully, Greg recasts skilled trades as careers of choice rather than last resort: "We're not the people who had to go to shop class because that's all we could do. We're the people who chose to go to shop class because there's plenty of lawyers and doctors." With 24-year-olds in his company earning $100,000+ and advancement paths leading in countless directions, his message to young people couldn't be clearer – the trades offer not just work, but meaningful, financially rewarding careers building America's future.Ready to explore the trades with fresh eyes? Listen now and discover why Greg believes his most important mission is helping the next generation become "smarter, more available, more open-minded" than previous generations of tradespeople were allowed to be.Get the Deep Knowledge at:http://www.deepknowledge.com/Connect with Greg at:http://www.gregcrumpton.com/Make yourself a priority and get more done: https://www.depthbuilder.com/do-the-damn-thing Download a PDF copy of Becoming the Promise You are Intended to Behttps://www.depthbuilder.com/books

Greetings to all our listeners on "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast." Today, we delve into what it means to be a consistent and compelling witness for Christ. In a rapidly changing world where spiritual indifference often prevails, how do we maintain our commitment to sharing the Gospel effectively? We turn to the Apostle Paul's timeless advice to a young Timothy for some divine inspiration. Our springboard for today's discussion is: 2 Timothy 4:2: "Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction."Paul's command to "Preach the word" serves as a cornerstone for all who desire to live out their faith openly and effectively. It's not merely a call to pastors and teachers, but to every believer. This directive goes beyond the walls of Sunday services and into our homes, workplaces, and communities. It involves readiness to share the truth of God's word whether the timing feels right or the conditions are favorable. In our modern context, being prepared "in season and out of season" might look different than in Timothy's day, but the principle remains the same: be ready always. Let's break down how we can live this out in practical terms.Focus Points to Work/Study On:* Develop a Deep Knowledge of Scripture:* Being an effective witness starts with knowing what you believe. Spend regular time in Bible study and prayer to deepen your understanding of the Word. This preparation equips you to share informed, clear, and thoughtful responses to questions about your faith.* Practice Spiritual Readiness:* Just as athletes train daily, spiritual readiness requires constant nurturing of your faith through prayer, meditation, and fellowship with other believers. Cultivate a lifestyle of readiness by integrating spiritual disciplines into your daily routine. This habit ensures you are spiritually alert and sensitive to opportunities to share God's love.* Engage with Love and Patience:* Witnessing isn't just about speaking truths; it's about embodying them. Approach each opportunity to share your faith with love, patience, and humility. Whether you are correcting misinformation, rebuking sin, or offering encouragement, remember that your goal is not to win arguments but to win hearts for Christ. Conclusion: To be an effective witness for Jesus, embrace every opportunity as a divine appointment. Let your life reflect the teachings of Christ so profoundly that others are drawn to ask about the hope that drives you. Witnessing isn't a sporadic activity but a continual expression of your faith through words and actions.Call to Action: This week, I challenge each of you to engage in at least one intentional conversation about your faith. It could be sharing a personal testimony, offering a biblical perspective on a current event, or simply inviting someone to church.Question of the Day: What are the common challenges you face when trying to share your faith, and how can you address them more effectively?Let's Pray: Heavenly Father, thank You for the courage and clarity to share Your word in every situation. Help us to be diligent in our preparation and loving in our delivery. May our words and actions align so closely with Your will that they lead others to Your saving grace. Equip us, Lord, to be effective ambassadors for Your Kingdom. Amen. Thanks for joining us on "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast." Keep carrying the message of Christ wherever you go, and remember, someone out there needs to hear what you have to share. Are you maximizing the value of your shareholder voting rights? It's a question many investors overlook, but it could be the key to unlocking additional income from your investments.Preston Yadegar is the founder and CEO of Shareholder Vote Exchange, the world's first marketplace for shareholder voting rights. Preston has previously worked at several investment advisors and hedge funds in trading and software engineering roles. He graduated from Boston University with a bachelor's degree in computer science and philosophy in 2020. We discuss proxy votes—what they are, how they work, and why they're often neglected by retail investors. Preston explains that while most shareholders have the right to vote, the majority don't exercise it, leading to what he terms 'rational shareholder apathy.' But should investors simply disregard these votes? Preston argues that there's value in these rights, and that selling them could benefit both the shareholder and the company.Blog post available at: https://www.stocksforbeginners.net/blog/preston-yadegar-shareholder-vote-exchangeDeep KnowIedge Investing empowers you to earn higher returns in the equity portion of your portfolio. Silicon Valley Bankcorp failed spectacularly in March 2023. The bank, the regulators and the media formed a circle of finger-pointing and blame: In this interview Gary explains "duration risk". Duration risk refers to the sensitivity of a bond's price to changes in interest rates. In simple terms, duration risk is the risk that the value of a bond will decrease as interest rates rise. For a bank, this risk is significant, as bonds make up a significant portion of their portfolio. If a bank doesn't manage duration risk correctly, it can result in significant losses, as was the case with Silicon Valley Bankcorp. Gary notes that understanding duration risk is a fundamental concept in finance, and anyone in a finance-related role should know this. The Federal Reserve even contacted Silicon Valley Bankcorp last year, expressing their concern about the bank's bond portfolio. However, the bank ignored the warning, and the result was catastrophic. Here's a link to the blog post: https://www.stocksforbeginners.net/blog/dki042023Portfolio tracker Sharesight tracks your trades, shows your true performance, and saves you time and money at tax time. Jamie is the former head of Academy at Leicester Tigers, now working with Grey Matters as a Senior Coach Developer. Jonas is a regular on the podcast, a world-renowned speed coach and the head coach and founder of Speedworks. Jamie and Jonas have been working together on a new education process for optimising coaching and talent development. The pair discuss some of the theory behind what they've learned over the years regarding the more reflective side of coaching, and how to make the right decisions at the right times. This includes critical thinking about coaching techniques, the work of peers, and even ourselves. At the heart of this thinking is the balance between gaining a wider knowledge, such as hoovering up advice and tips on social media, and gaining a deeper knowledge of specific techniques, exercises and sports. A healthy balance allows coaches to adapt exercises through knowing their environment and players, and being able to find the ‘sweet spot' where athletes understand and trust in training, even if they don't particularly enjoy it. For all this and where to find out more about Jonas' and Jamie's programme, hit the play button now This week's topics: How COVID led to the growth of Speedworks What led to collaboration between Speedworks and Grey Matters The questions Jonas receives about how to implement his teachings The coaching appraisal process – self-reflection on training sessions Critical thinking, on both peer reviewed papers and ourselves Utilising technology to provide an objective view of coaching Personal development and next steps for Jonas The importance of being able to recharge Wider knowledge vs. deeper knowledge Being able to adapt exercises through knowing your environment and players The ‘sweet spot' where athletes understand and trust in training

The mountain ranges of North America are beautiful and diverse.  From the prominent glacier cones that dominate the skylines of the Pacific Northwest, to the rugged granite plutons of Yosemite Valley, to the sawtooth razor points of the Tetons, the mountains of North America are a veritable playground for mountaineers. But for climbers and alpinists looking to put their physical, mental and psychological fortitude to the test- perhaps no range is better suited, than the Canadian Rockies.Although the Rockies offer opportunities for mountaineers of all abilities, it's the giant peaks, with their menacing and fearsome north walls, that have cemented the Canadian Rockies as one of the world's most storied alpine arenas. And today, I'm chatting with one of the rockies most accomplished, and enduring alpinists of his generation, Jon Walsh.Jon's alpine resume is uniquely impressive - with dozens and dozens of first ascents ranging from Patagonia, The Karakoram and The Bugaboos.  But it's his climbs in the Canadian Rockies, particularly his routes on the legendary peaks like Alberta, North Twin, and Robson, that stand out the most (at least to me).  I recently got a chance to speak with Jon about his career in the Rockies, and in some ways, this conversation was special.  In the next hour, you'll hear deep wisdom, and unmatched experience.  For aspiring alpinists, and folks who are interested specifically in the Candian Rockies - you'll want to pay extra attention.  It's not so often you get to hear first hand accounts, from true masters of the craft. This conversation is focused primarily on Jon's experiences on the North walls of Mount Alberta, Robson, and North Twin - but like a lot of conversations on The Firn Line, we started by talking about Jon's early years, and how he got into climbing in the first place.Links:Robson - Infinite Patience (Alpinist)Robson - Kruk-Walsh (Alpinist)North Twin - Walsh-Wharton (Alpinist)Alberta - Walsh-Wharton (Alpinist)The Firn Line (Website)PatreonSponsors:Alaska Rock GymThe Hoarding Marmot

Dr. Walter Mzembi, head of the ATB Safety and Security Committee analyzed the feedback given by Ms. Malan in saying; "I think it's fair to applaud South Africa for their consensus and cautious approach during this period. I can safely say South Africa led in terms of WHO template compliance, certainly, they have been a stickler for compliance. Their risk-adjusted approach reflects that following all the stages in reopening, South Africa moved from stage 5 to stage 2. No wonder they appear in the Deep Knowledge of being among the 100 safest COVID-19 destinations in the World. It's payback for their perceived transparency. South Africa is recalibrated and it comes back starting by Intra Province travel and has now opened to inter Provincial travel and will gradually move to Regional despite an emigration challenge on their borders, This challenge which is clearly clouding authentic tourism from regional immigration.
