We are now in a pasuk in Tehilim 65, 6 נ֤וֹרָא֨וֹת ׀ בְּצֶ֣דֶק תַּ֭עֲנֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׁעֵ֑נוּ מִבְטָ֥ח כׇּל־קַצְוֵי־אֶ֝֗רֶץ וְיָ֣ם רְחֹקִֽים׃ With awesome works of righteousness. You answer us, our God of salvation. The One Who even people on the farthest ends of earth and distant seas rely on. David Hamelech is saying that Hashem answers us in awesome ways and saves us, and He's the one that the entire world relies on. The Radak explains that this pasuk is telling us that God acts with the Jewish people in awesome ways, in supernatural ways, in ways that cause people to be afraid of God. God is the reliance of the Jewish people, spread out to all ends of the earth in the most distant of islands, distant from Yerushalayim . All of the Jewish people, deep down, have hope and reliance on God that He will gather us in the end. So, this is a pasuk talking about the reliance of the Jewish people during exile and the Noraot , the awesomeness that God uses. This relates to the famous Gemara in Masechet Yevamot 69B, that says, The Men of the Great Assembly were so called because they returned the crown to its original state. What crown? God is referred to by Moshe Rabbenu as HaEl, HaGadol, HaGibor V'HaNorah But as time went on, Yirmiyah the great prophet said, How could it be that the goyim are in the Bet Hamikdash, taking it over? Where is the fear? I can't say Fear. Then Daniel said, The goyim are subjugating God's children. Where's His strength? I can't say strength . And the answer of the Anshei Knesset HaGedolah was No. God is a Gibor. As it says, Who's the great one? He who controls himself. Do you know how much control it takes for God, so to say, not to lash out on the wicked? And all of this time, God is controlling Himself because He wants to get to the end goal of Mashiach, but we need a little bit more time. At the same time that the goyim are doing what they're doing, God also has Noraotav . What is that? This is the fear of God says the Gemara. If not for the fear of God, how can one nation survive? We think, We're fine, we'll survive. We're here. But the fact that we're not stoned when we walk down the street is an expression of God's Norah /the fear that He instills in them. That's why we're able to walk the streets in peace. We see it when God decides to reveal a little bit of what would be going on. We see college demonstrations, worldwide antisemitism, these are just an expression of what could be happening without Noraotav, without God's fear. We find the Maaseh Avot Siman L'Banim in Bereshit 35,5 After Shimon and Levi killed out the people of Shechem, it says וַיִּסָּ֑עוּ וַיְהִ֣י ׀ חִתַּ֣ת אֱלֹהִ֗ים עַל־הֶֽעָרִים֙ אֲשֶׁר֙ סְבִיב֣וֹתֵיהֶ֔ם וְלֹ֣א רָֽדְפ֔וּ אַחֲרֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב׃ They traveled . That means the Jewish people moved out. And there was a fear of God on everyone that was around that area. And they didn't chase the Bnei Yaakov. The Malbim says that they realized that the fact that Shimon and Levi wiped out the town was something Godly and they were afraid to start up with God. This is something we continue to experience. We don't realize this, but there are goyim out there who realize that there's a God of the Jews and you don't start up with the God of the Jews. I was speaking to a certain non-Jewish, South American fellow who shared with me that some leaders of South America who were very anti-Jewish died. There's a video of Chavez from Venezuela saying Israel should should be demolished and destroyed, and not long after that, he contracted cancer. He gave me a whole bunch of different examples of leaders like this, he said, “ We realize that you don't start up with the God of the Jews.” Then there's the story of the fellow in the Turkish parliament who got up and blasted the Jews and then had a massive heart attack right there in their parliament. And of course, we had the Iranian president, whose helicopter crashed. Even the goyim see this and realize that there's a fear of the God of the Jews. On this pasuk , the Emek D'var says, God does not abandon us totally. He stands from afar and guards over us. נ֤וֹרָא֨וֹת ׀ בְּצֶ֣דֶק תַּ֭עֲנֵנוּ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׁעֵ֑נוּ מִבְטָ֥ח כׇּל־קַצְוֵי־אֶ֝֗רֶץ וְיָ֣ם רְחֹקִֽים With fear, God answers us . That means He answers us by doing things that instill fear. The God of our salvation. He's the reliance of Jewish people, to all the ends of the earth, and faraway islands that eventually we will come back.

Editor: I want to publicly thank the Wilson County Sheriff's Office staff and deputies for meeting my grandson and showing him that they are normal people out there to help him. My grandson is a third-grader in Dallas, and visited here for spring break. His mother told me he was taught to run and hide if he sees a police officer approaching. The voice of the Shepherd b. The voice of the stranger The Voice of the Shepherd 1. The voice of Jesus Heb. 1 2. The voice of the Spirit Rev. 2:7 3. The voice of angels delivering a message from the Lord Luke 2 4. The voice of believers preaching the Word Acts 8:5 5. Our voice cooperating with the Holy Spirit Acts. 4:8 The voice of the stranger 1. Stranger: foreigner, not one's own, hostile 2. Matt 4:3 the devil has a voice 3. 2 Cor. 12:7 messengers of Satan (demons) 4. Your flesh has a voice 5. Your unrenewed mind has a voice Matt. 16:22 The voice we listen to will produce the quality of live we experience. 1. The product of the voice of the Shepherd is life (zoe) the God kind of life, and that in abundance 2. The product of the voice of the stranger is destruction. (stealing, killing, & destroying) 3. We choose the quality of life we experience here on the earth. Deut 30:19-20 4. Quality of life (not what you want) is a good way to determine who you are listening to. Characteristics of the stranger's voice ● Always negative [produces a sense of hopelessness] ● Words of defeat, criticism or discouragement ● Questions your ability and worth in Christ ● Instills fear to the hearer ● Compares you to other people to find you lacking ● Influences you to postpone prayer, reading the Word or attending church ● Words bring discouragement and depression ● Encourages you to quit or give up ● Puts suspicious and jealous thoughts in your heart toward someone you love ● Influences you to do things contrary to the Word of God or your normal behavior. ● Always condemning [Bringing up the past, inadequacies, failure and shortcomings]. This could be your own, or the voice of the enemy] Characteristics of the Voice of the Shepherd ● Positive and faith filled ● Words of victory ● Reminds you of your worth and ability in Christ ● Edifies, exhorts and comforts ● Speaks liberating truth that produces character ● You may not always like or agree with what the Shepherd has to say, but it will be good for you. ● Will produce an abundance ● Instill abiding peace and joy ● His voice will reveal the love of God to the hearer ● It is a voice that knocks at the door of our heart ● Will convict of sin but will not condemn ● Will point out areas of correction and provide a solution ● Reflects the wisdom of God ● It will never compare you to others, but will compare you to the standard of the Word. Differentiating between the two 1. Judge by the Word a. Heb 4:12 The Word is living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, dividing soul & spirit, joints & marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. b. You cannot operate at optimal “hearing the voice of the shepherd capacity without reading your Bible!! 2. Use your spiritual ears a. John 16 The helper is in you, and takes what is the Lord's and reveals it to you. What are you hearing on the inside???? b. Your spirit will testify...or bear witness...or will seem good...red light/green light... c. My sheep know my voice d. You know Him

Although they are similar in color, you can usually tell rhodochrosite because it often forms as a stalactite, showing distinctive circular banding. But it can also take a gemmy, semi-translucent form. In whatever form, it’s an excellent stone for dismissing "negativity", releasing our emotions, and restoring balance to the soul. Rhodochrosite Lore: Another name for rhodochrosite is “Inca rose,” and it’s said that the Inca believed it to be the petrified blood of their former kings and queens. They used this stone for funerary jewelry and items. It grows as a stalactite, often forming interesting bullseye, zigzag and circular patterns, and is found near silver ore. Great quantities of it were left behind in Inca silver mines — mines abandoned many centuries ago — untouched by the silver miners. This is perhaps not too surprising, since the elements in it can interfere with silver mining. In the US and Europe, rhodochrosite used to simply get tossed on the slag heap, until modern rock hounds started picking it out for collector specimens, jewelry and other decorative uses. Rhodochrosite’s association with the heart chakra comes from India, where it’s valued as a crystal for love and for strengthening the heart. It’s also said to be helpful for finding balance, and for regulating many inner organs. And Rhodochrosite is also said to be beneficial for memory! Rhodochrosite is the national stone of Argentina. Set the crystal in front of you, close your eyes, and drum to the beat of your own heart. (If you don’t have a “real” drum, it’s fine to use a box or piece of furniture as a substitute.) Gradually, drum louder and with more intensity, until you feel the negativity detaching from you, ready to be released. Slowly decrease the intensity of your drumming as you watch the negativity recede until it is so faint you can no longer hear it. It’s actually the gemstone variety of cordierite. Iolite Lore: Iolite is known as the “viking’s compass,” because it can be used to determine the position of the sun on a cloudy day. It has an optical property called pleochroism, meaning the stone takes on a completely different color depending on the direction of whatever light is illuminating it. Even on a cloudy day, light always comes from the actual direction of the sun. So the sailor could find the sun’s position by positioning the stone at various angles until the right color appeared, and by knowing where the sun was, he could figure out his own position and direction. It forms naturally when trace amounts of iron are trapped in quartz, as it crystallizes. This is the same process that forms amethyst; the only difference is that citrine forms under higher temperature. In fact, most citrine available commercially is made by heating amethyst, as naturally occurring citrine is rare. Citrine is the “Merchant’s Stone,” because it is associated with success and prosperity. Older references are rare because it’s been confused with topaz until relatively recent times, but this use has been consistent. Citrine has been associated with the solar plexus chakra. We’ll talk here about the basic golden form, but there are several related stones: Tiger’s eye is a great stone for putting “pedal to the metal,” taking charge of what you want and bringing it into reality. It’s also a traditional stone for warding off the evil eye. Since it contains asbestos, please don’t use it for elixirs. Tiger's Eye Lore: The association between “The Eye of the Tiger” and bravery didn’t start with Survivor’s song or Stallone’s movies. Don't worry!  Even though it contains asbestos, it is safe to handle in its polished or tumbled form (the fibers are trapped within the Quartz). The form of asbestos is Crocidilite, an iron-bearing mineral that's normally blue in color. When that iron rusts before it gets trapped within the silica, it turns brown and results in golden tiger's eye. But if the silica infiltrates the fibers before the iron has time to rust, the blue color is retained, resulting in Blue Tiger's Eye. Blue tiger’s eye contains crocidolite (blue asbestos) fibers. When the iron in these fibers oxidizes, the stone bearing it becomes red or golden tiger’s eye. Combining the raw power of Tiger's Eye with the blue color association gives an interesting and useful combination of metaphysical characteristics. All tiger's eye is great for removing habits that no longer serve, plowing through details of your to-do list, and getting down to business. Tiger’s Eye is a great stone for putting “pedal to the metal,” taking charge of what you want and bringing it into reality. It’s also a traditional stone for warding off the evil eye.
