Today we have Kimmy. She is 34 years old from Montrose, Colorado and took her last drink on April 3rd, 2017. This episode brought to you by Better Help – 10% off of your first month Café RE – THE social app for sober people Here are some upcoming events at RE: Bozeman Retreat from August 6th-20th, 2025 Peru in October (registration closed) Dry January 2026 Ukelele Course in February 2026 Costa Rica in February 2026 AF Songwriting Course in March 2026 [04:12] Thoughts from Paul: A few weeks ago, Paul did an intro titled “How to Let Go” and then told us that had no idea how to let go. Since that episode, he has started looking at this from another angle. Paul shares that there was a time in his life that he would drink over things that he was unable to let go of. He says that progress has not been in letting things go, but it has been in his reactions to events and happenings in life. When drinking everything was a knee jerk reaction with no space between the stimulus and the response. Recovery has taught him how to pause, to wait, to gather his thoughts before responding to an event or trigger. One strategy with this is to not add a good or bad label to whatever happens in life. What seems like an unfortunate life event now may later turn out to be a great thing. Our reactions to life in general are the key to letting go. If we lean into the space between stimulus and response, and remain neutral to all of life's unfolding, there will be less that needs to be let go of. [08:59] Paul introduces Kimmy: Kimmy grew up Big Fork, Montana and grew up riding horses and competing in barrel racing and rodeos. She says overall she had a good childhood. Kimmy says that she had her first drink when she was 17 and feels that drinking was a problem for her right from the start. Several events that happened in her teens drove Kimmy to use alcohol to cope with her feelings around them. She would take shots of her mom's liquor and then drive 30 minutes to school already drunk. After leaving college, a friend of Kimmy's said she was moving to Telluride for ski season. Kimmy went with her and while the friend left after the season was over, Kimmy stayed because she enjoyed it there. After having multiple rock bottom moments, Kimmy tried different techniques to quit drinking or moderate. They all backfired, she says. Eventually she turned to her faith in a moment of surrender. She didn't quit drinking instantly, but over time grew to see that alcohol was no longer doing anything for her. Kimmy took her last drink at the end of the ski season in 2017. It was one beer, and she isn't even sure she finished it. She was able to quit and after nine months told her father, who also drinks, and he was so proud of her she just wanted to keep going. Kimmy says working has been a big part of her recovery as she currently has four jobs. She stays close to her faith and although she doesn't attend church, she reads her bible frequently. Kimmy has goals now and shares that she didn't really have any after getting derailed by some events in her teenage years and turning to alcohol. It has taken time, but Kimmy is getting back to riding and competing and sees this current year of sobriety as a year of redemption as she looks forward to improving in these endeavors. Episode 89 – Let Go of the Game: Healing Without Effort with Sven Loss In this illuminating and soul-stirring conversation, Andrew welcomes Sven Loss—a widely respected teacher of inner freedom and truth—to explore a radical idea: What if healing doesn't require years of work? What if transformation is instant—if you stop trying? This episode is a deep dive into the paradox of healing, identity, and transformation within the context of polarity, power exchange, and intimate relationships. Andrew and Sven both share their stories of awakening—not through slow self-improvement, but through moments of surrender that changed everything. Together, they dismantle the illusion that “working on yourself” leads to wholeness and instead reveal: • Why the effort to let go is actually a form of holding on • How your addiction to fixing yourself is the very thing keeping you stuck • Why deep healing often begins the moment you stop performing and trying • How your relationship patterns are shaped by early life conditioning—and how to break the cycle • The real reason most people don't know what they want (and why that's okay) • How masculine and feminine embodiment naturally emerge when you stop pretending • The truth about safety, leadership, and freedom inside power exchange relationships • Why dominance begins with surrendering to truth—not performing control This episode is especially powerful for couples navigating a D/s dynamic, polarity work, or deep inner work in partnership. If you've ever felt stuck in the loop of trying to heal, be more masculine or feminine, or “get it right,” this episode will give you permission to stop… and just be.

At 30, Byron Katie spent a decade trapped in depression and self-hatred.Then one morning, she woke up with a single realization… and everything changed. In this episode, author and speaker Byron Katie joins us for a powerful conversation on how questioning your thoughts can transform suffering. She realized that when she believed her stressful thoughts, she suffered, but that when she questioned them, she didn't suffer, and that this is true for every human being. In this episode, Light Watkins sits down with Sean Hoess, co-founder of Wanderlust—the global wellness festival that once redefined how people experienced yoga, music, and community. Sean shares his winding journey from burnt-out New York City lawyer to record label co-founder, and eventually to the unlikely creator of a worldwide movement focused on mindfulness and well-being.But what happens when your dream job starts to feel like just another grind?Sean gets real about the pressures of scaling a purpose-driven company, the quiet warning signs that something's off, and the emotional toll of watching your creation grow beyond your control. He opens up about the moment he realized success didn't always equal fulfillment—and how a global pandemic forced him to stop, look around, and ask a question most people avoid: “Why am I actually here?”The conversation explores how childhood patterns of self-reliance and creativity shaped Sean's resilience, how deep friendships can evolve into business partnerships, and why it's so easy to confuse growth with progress. He also shares what it was like navigating a professional split from his best friend and co-founder, and how that pain ultimately became the catalyst for something new: Eudemonia—a wellness summit that brings together scientists, spiritual leaders, and curious seekers in pursuit of a life well-lived.If you've ever wondered what to do when your mission starts to drain you instead of inspire you, or how to realign when your purpose begins to shift, this episode is for you.Send us a text message. In this episode of Embracing Enough, we're digging into a truth too many women know but rarely name: what's happening at home doesn't stay at home. The mental load, the invisible labor, the pressure to be everything for everyone—it doesn't just live in the kitchen or the carpool lane. It bleeds into how we lead, how we love, and how we measure our own worth. This week, Dina is joined by author Kate Mangino, whose book Equal Partners: Improving Gender Equality at Home offers both a wake-up call and a blueprint for change. Together, they explore how perfectionism and people-pleasing are deeply rooted in the way we're taught to care—and overcare—for others. And how it can hold us back from leading authentically. You'll hear about:How “being the default” at home leads to burnoutWhy men often dismiss women's household labor as “extra”What true partnership looks like without martyrdomWhy true partnership is good for men, too!And how to start unlearning the systems that keep us stuckIf you've ever wondered why “doing it all” feels so exhausting—it's because it is. This conversation will help you name it, question it, and start to shift it. Kate also shares about a very exciting new workshop being held later in 2025 called MOVE Your Marriage: a 1.5 Day“WeTreat” for dual career couples. It's a first of its kind workshop to tackle some of the most pressing issues couples face when juggling career, kids, and money. Your past dysfunctional relationships aren't just impacting your ability to lose weight... In today's episode, we explore the dance between surrender and action, how to let go of what we can't control and fiercely protect what lights us up. We journey to the Salt River at sunrise, drawing on the wisdom of the wild horses and the Stoic philosophy to remind us that peace doesn't come from fighting the current, but from flowing with it. We reflect on the importance of protecting our energy, of pouring ourselves into what inspires us, and of finding the courage to be different. We talk about the power of holding on when the world would let go, and how, like the river and the rising sun, we're always invited to begin again. Let this episode be your call to trust your path, to move with the current where you must, and to shape your life with unwavering purpose;this is your moment to rise.More from Eddie Pinero:Monday Motivation Newsletter: https://www.eddiepinero.com/newsletterYour World Within Podcast: https://yourworldwithin.libsyn.com/Stream these tracks on Spotify - https://spoti.fi/2BLf6pBInstagram - @your_world_within and @IamEddiePineroTikTok - your_world_withinFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/YourworldwithinTwitter - https://www.twitter.com/IamEddiePineroBusiness Inquiries - http://www.yourworldwithin.com/contact

Feeling overwhelmed? In this episode, I share five powerful affirmations to help you stay calm, grounded, and resilient through even the toughest weeks. We all hit those weeks where everything feels overwhelming, and it's tough to find our footing. In today's episode, I'm sharing five affirmations that have truly helped me stay grounded during chaotic, stressful times. These simple but powerful phrases can shift your mindset and give you a real sense of peace when you need it most. Action Plan: 1 - Relax, Trust, Let Go, Surrender: Anchor yourself by releasing control and allowing things to unfold. 2 - I trust myself: Remind yourself that you are capable, intuitive, and strong enough to handle any challenge. 3 - I choose peace: In the midst of chaos, intentionally create inner calm by making peace your priority. 4 - I give myself permission to pause: Know that resting is not weakness—it's necessary for creativity and clarity. 5 - Everything is Happening in Perfect Timing: Trust that life is unfolding exactly as it should, even if you can't see it yet.
