Hoy voy a ser egoísta… ¡ya está bien de pensar en los demás! Así que no voy a hacer, como suele ser mi costumbre, un vídeo pensando en que os guste a vosotros. No. He hecho este video… Batmobile (1966).

Bio:Juana Bordas, LHD, originally came to the US on a banana boat from Nicaragua when she was three years old. She exemplifies the many contributions, resiliency, and determination of the immigrant spirit. Juana Bordas is recognized as an elder and icon in the advancement of multicultural and inclusive leadership that includes the contributions of Latinos and communities of colour.Links:Website: https://www.juanabordas.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/juanabordas/Email: juanabordas@gmail.comQuotes:"Leadership always starts with you as a leader taking care of yourself so that you can give to others, and you can be available.""Leadership is creating a society that takes care of its people."Episode Highlights:When you have a mother who is willing to do anything to set you up for success, then you have no option but to be successful. According to Juana, her mother had a grade-five education, but she was determined to give her all to ensure the narrative changed for her children, especially Juana. When they came to the US, Juana had the finest education and did her best to make her mother proud. Childhood Incidents:As a child, Juana suffered from a cultural inferiority complex. She vividly recalls when she was invited to a party, and her mother took her to the store to buy a dress for the party. They bought a dress that they thought was the best for the party. When Juana got to the party, other girls were dressed in taffeta. She was embarrassed and ended up hiding in the bathroom all night. Juana struggled with the psychology of oppression. Her breakthrough came when she joined the Peace Corps, and she realized how rich her culture was.Leadership Style:The dance metaphor is strong for the way Latinos look at life. Looking at Juana's life, her mother took her to the dance floor and left her there, trusting that her daughter would learn how to dance. The prep school Juana attended extended a dance invitation to her, which she readily accepted and danced. What has Juana Adopted From Other Cultures? When Juana went to Chile, she worked in low-income areas where she realized there was a culture that cut across different Latino subgroups. The area she worked in held 150,000 people and was on the outskirts of the airport. Despite the poor conditions, the Chileans Juana met were incredibly kind and generous to her.Temperament and Personality:Juana grew up as a highly energetic girl. Her parents were working class and they always kept active. Through their example, Juana learned to always be active and to take the initiative when she could. Cultural Epiphanies:Juana believes that Latinos are moving more into the intellectual class and have increasingly stronger economic clout. Latinos are going to be 78% of the new entries into the labour force, and in the next 10-20 years, they will be stepping into leadership positions at a much higher level than ever before because they integrate both their cultural assets with what they've learned at mainstream universities and other educational institutions. What Brings Out the Best in Juana?Juana has a deep love for humanity. Whenever she works with people, the first thing she does is develop a connection with them. Her desire is not to be a leader, but to form a partnership where they energize each other, learn, support, and see the best in each other.Soapbox Moments:Juana invites us to be part of the multicultural age, because diversity is the next stage in human evolution.Tagline: How to lead from a multiSupport the show

The New Jersey Devils have traded Mikhail Maltsev and a 2021 2nd round draft pick in exchange for Ryan Graves. Graves is a young LHD with a lot upside. This trade will also help the Devils in the expansion draft, since they can now expose Subban without the fear of being $25 million away from the cap floor. Graves can help out in the penalty kill and he also provides a big body frame for our defensive unit. Hopefully he can fit in well with Lindy Ruff's system.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built Bar: Built Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. #MiniSE #WWDC21 #FordMaverick Another Day, Another Pod! Episode 496 DJI Mini SE the new budget drone was leaked on friday, by a customer who was able to buy one yet again form Walmart before it has even been announced ! great news its only $300 usd for the fly more combo (387 aud) and it is exactly the same in all ways to th e Mavic Mini. Except the controller, it has been given the Mavic Mini 2 controller which is heaps better ! not sure if it gains the ocuvsync 2 that the mini 2 gets but either way this is clearly the best value drone there is ! Apple WWDC Developers conference is on 8th June at 0300 AEST for us people in the future. The talk is obviously the new MacBook pro's. Which i can't wait to see and see what other tech they are into over the next 12 months. Rumours floating around speculating Blood Glucose and alcohol sensors for the watch 7 redesign which will be great for diabetics and drink drivers ! But they still need a rugged version before i buy another one ! Also Apple working on implementing Passport into the iPhone somehow ! tricky task as you then have to get it ratified as ok to use by at least all he developed countries which will lose revenue charging a small fortune for your passport ? Also lastly iPhone 13 apparently getting 1tb storage, which in large raw files and 4k video basically a necessity ! Ford will be announcing the new Maverick on 8th June 6pm AEST This will be smaller then the ranger. Built on a car style chassis. AWD system from the bronco , CVT auto trans too. Engines will be possibly a 2.5ltr turbo petrol and a hybrid engine with 149kw petrol and 88kw electric motor. Obviously not a real 4WD but more of a occasional dirt road jaunt ,you might say. Of course its only going to be LHD and not come to australian shores. For us older people you might remember we had the maverick here for a while and it shared the patrol platform with nissan for a while before disappearing like our whole auto industry has ! Canon Rumours talking about new patents for Canon glass for RF mount ! But .. its APS-C ??? Does this mean the M50 is getting an RF mount ?? Im thinking so, would be great for video on a budget , if they can get clog in it . But strange as aps-c i thought would be gone for Canon as they have let it fail hard over the last couple of years ? Patents are 15-45,18-45,16-45,20-45 all f4-6.7 … A rare moose Lens is going up for auction ! A Canon 1200mm EF L F5.6 lens one of possibly only 20 in existence as made to order for $100000 usd back in 93'. CR reports that a few have sold over past couple of years for over 150 grand usd which is a crazy number for a lens. The NHL Draft lottery is tonight, and I'm loving the New Jersey Devils' chances of getting a relatively high draft selection. There are a lot of great University of Michigan Wolverines on the board for the taking (two of them are great LHD). However, I want to discuss possible worst case scenarios just in case somebody has their hopes set a little too high. Age-Friendly Ecosystems "It's a blessing to be an older adult." -Melissa Batchelor, PhD, RN, FNP-BC, FGSA, FAAN For decades, advocates have called for communities, neighborhoods, and organizations like hospitals to become more "age-friendly." Although the idea of an age-friendly society has been promoted both locally and internationally, adoption remains more aspirational than an organized practice. In this week's episode of This Is Getting Old, Dr. Terry Fulmer and Amy Berman walk us through an overview of what it means to have created an Age-Friendly Ecosystem. Part One of 'The Age-friendly Ecosystems'. The John A. Hartford Foundation has been working with the Age-Friendly Foundation to convene leaders of these age-friendly movements. The goal is to help make the "age-friendly" moniker clear to all stakeholders in terms of what it means. At the George Washington University’s Center for Aging, Health and Humanities, we have adapted the Age-Friendly Ecosystem to include Arts & Creativity.’ What Exactly Is an Age-friendly Ecosystem? An Age-Friendly Ecosystem refers to the collective of all efforts to adapt society to meet older adults' needs. In simpler terms, Age-Friendly Ecosystems are the comprehensive, collectively built, and ever-expanding platform whose goal is to improve older adults' quality of life through enhanced, collective impact. Moreover, understanding the Age-Friendly Ecosystem draws on the social-ecological model that acknowledges the connections and interplay between older adults and their environments or contexts. Proponents of the Age-friendly Ecosystem Movement The Age-Friendly Ecosystem is a movement to create age-friendly cities and communities started by the World Health Organization and carried forward by AARP (American Association of Retired Persons). The John A. Hartford Foundation (JAHF) launched the Age-Friendly Health Systems movement with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in 2017 to ensure the specific needs of older adults are met in health care. JAHF in 2018 then collaborated with the Trust for America's Health (TFAH) to involve public health agencies to expand the implementation of the age-friendly guidelines to the public health domain, acknowledging that these programs, notwithstanding their goals, have remained constrained and siloed. Many other organizations are advancing initiatives to make universities and businesses age-friendly. The Goals and Objectives of Age-Friendly Ecosystems The goal of Age-Friendly Ecosystems has been to help make the "age-friendly" moniker clear to all stakeholders regarding what it means and how it should be adapted. The work is leading to developing a common language and shared metrics so that anyone can recognize it and know what should be expected when we say "age-friendly." By working together across silos, different age-friendly initiatives can maximize their collective impact. "An Age-Friendly Ecosystem refers to the collective efforts to adapt society to meet older adults' needs worldwide." -Terry Fulmer, PhD, RN, FAAN Guiding Principles and Frameworks of Age-friendly Ecosystems Each of the age-friendly initiatives has its guiding principles and frameworks. A big part of our effort is to help us understand those frameworks and what the shared characteristics are across them. The 4Ms Framework An Age-Friendly Health System reliably delivers evidence-based care that reduces harm and focuses on What Matters most to older adults and their families. It is based on what we call the 4Ms Framework – essential elements of care that need to be addressed for all older adults – What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility. The 5Cs Framework The Age-Friendly Public Health Systems movement uses the 5Cs Framework: Connecting and convening sectors and professions Coordinating existing supports and services Collecting data to assess community health status Conducting, communicating, and disseminating research findings and best practices Complementing and supplementing existing supports and services, These frameworks are specific to the sector, clinical or public health in these examples but undergirding all of these frameworks are commonalities that lead us to the characteristics of an Age-Friendly Ecosystem. Part Two of 'The Age-friendly Ecosystems'. Characteristics of Age-friendly Ecosystems The convenings of leaders in the Age-Friendly Ecosystem, in addition to surveys of older adults, literature reviews, and expert interviews, have led to an understanding that several characteristics represent an age-friendly ecosystem. Understanding these characteristics helps us get to common language and metrics. A forthcoming journal article will explain these characteristics and their definitions. Age-Friendly Ecosystems: Current Standing in Terms of the Needed Common Language and Metrics Since the fall of 2020, the Age-Friendly Foundation has been drafting a measurement taxonomy. They did that by identifying six outcome measurement domains that represent dimensions of age-friendliness. The domains are groups of similar outcomes, while the outcomes are explanatory concepts that can be inferred from measured or observed data. The Foundation is also looking at indicators or ways of measuring desired outcomes. They've looked at all the different frameworks outcomes and indicators – the Age-Friendly Health Systems, the Age-Friendly Public Health, WHO Age-Friendly Cities, AARP Livable Communities, Age-Friendly CAFÉ (Employers), and Age-Friendly Universities Principles— to supplement work in the health and public health frameworks. Furthermore, the Foundation reviewed CDCs Healthy People 2030 indicators for Healthy Aging and Access to Care and the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials Policy Statement on Aging to expand and quantify outcomes related to health well-being. They've started with specific outcomes, such as Mobility, Walkability, Access to Jobs, and Labor Force Engagement. For each outcome, they identified indicators (or measures) recommended by IHI, CDC, WHO, and so on. In some cases, they've added indicators where there were gaps based on a review of the literature. All of these are still in draft stages, and there is more to come. "Everyone has a role to play in eradicating ageism." -Terry Fulmer, PhD, RN, FAAN. How To Do Your Part In Building The Age-friendly Ecosystem? Everyone is encouraged to implement age-friendly programs, which will also help us counter ageism and help all of us age with dignity and respect. In whatever sector you are in, reach out across to other partners. Start by checking out the blog on MelissaBPhD.com. You can find linked additional resources for age-friendly initiatives such as the Age-friendly Health Systems, Age-friendly Universities, and many more. You can also join in the existing age-friendly initiatives, for example, the Age-Friendly Health Systems movement, by going to ihi.org/agefriendly. Or visit Trust for America's Health or our johnahartford.org website for more information on how to join the Age-Friendly Public Health Systems initiative, which has a new website: https://afphs.org/. "We've seen great success in this with public health working with aging services, working with health systems. This all connects to a crucial issue and call to action - everyone has a role in eradicating ageism, which is discrimination based on age. This means calling it out when you see and hear it. It requires you to make sure you aren't contributing to ageist perceptions of older adults." says Dr. Terry Fulmer, a nationally and internationally recognized leading expert in geriatrics. “Older adults rightfully want and deserve dignity and respect.” Amy Berman, RN, LHD, FAAN About Terry Fulmer, PhD, RN, FAAN: Terry Fulmer, PhD, RN, FAAN, is the President of The John A. Hartford Foundation in New York City, a foundation dedicated to improving older adults' care. She serves as the chief strategist for the Foundation, and her vision for better care of older adults is catalyzing the Age-Friendly Health Systems social movement. Dr. Fulmer is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and recently served on the independent Coronavirus Commission for Safety and Quality in Nursing Homes to advise the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. She completed a Brookdale National Fellowship, and she is the first nurse to have served on the American Geriatrics Society board. The first nurse to have served as President of the Gerontological Society of America, which awarded her the 2019 Donald P. Kent Award for exemplifying the highest standards for professional leadership in the field of aging. About Amy Berman, RN, LHD, FAAN: Amy Berman is a Senior Program Officer with The John A. Hartford Foundation. She works on the Foundation's development and dissemination of innovative, cost-effective care models that improve health outcomes for older adults. Among these efforts, Dr. Berman is responsible for the Foundation's work to advance Age-Friendly Health Systems, led by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, in partnership with the American Hospital Association and the Catholic Health Association. She also leads many of the Foundation's efforts focused on Serious Illness and End of Life, including efforts to support Diane Meier's palliative care and the Center to Advance Palliative Care.

It’s a totally free marketplace that simplifies the buying and selling process, and help you learn about EVs along the way too. FORD SPOKESPERSON DISMISSES TESLA AUTONOMY AS 'VAPORWARE' "A corporate communications officer for Ford engaged in a rare bit of Twitter trash talking about a competitor — in this case, Elon Musk’s Tesla Inc. — referring to Tesla's Model Y as “vaporware.”" says Yahoo! Finance today: "The put-down was sparked by a tweet from Tesla investor Ross Gerber, who also is the CEO of Gerber Kawasaki Wealth and Investment Management. In a tweet Sunday morning, EST, Gerber expressed his unhappiness with Ford’s Mustang Mach E-electric vehicle to Mike Levine, Ford’s North America communications manager. “Dear Ford,” Gerber tweeted. “It serves no value to try to compare the Mach e to a tesla. It is not and it’s not close. Also. It will serve you to not have your dealers ripping off EV customers with BS $5000 fees. You should return the money to the customers you ripped off. " Levine responded to Gerber within an hour with this tweet: “Why would Ford have to compare? Don’t listen to me. Listen to the media. And return those $10K full-self driving deposits. Mach-E customers drive away with a car. Tesla customers drive off with vaporware.”" https://finance.yahoo.com/news/ford-spokesperson-dismisses-tesla-model-210303531.html TESLA V11 SOFTWARE LEAKS ONLINE "Version 11 of Tesla’s software has been a long time coming and tonight, we got our first look at a major revision of the interface. One of the big new features from the S and X is that new Yoke wheel which has no stalks, which means drive selection is being handled digitally. The setting screen shows an option to enable or disable ‘Smart Shift’, so for those users who want absolute control, its great to see this is an option." according to Techau: "We can see a new area on the left of the display (LHD markets) which has a vehicle icon, then dots above and below it, indicating a drag up or down will let you manually select the direction of the vehicle, in the event the AI-power gear selection chooses the wrong direction. In one of the shots, we see a light pane over the left of the display which provides quick access to vehicle controls. These include lock, Frunk, Trunk, Charge port, Lights, Fold mirrors, Glovebox, and Neutral (current gear selection) at the top. In the middle we see Window lock, Child lock, a brightness slider, View clips (Dashcam), Camera (reverse). This section is completed with a new front image of the car, with the word Controls written under it, along with Mirrors and Steering wheel adjustment buttons." https://techau.com.au/tesla-v11-software-leaks-online-huge-ui-refresh-drag-strip-mode-and-smart-shift VOLKSWAGEN USE OF COBALT NOW MORE THAN TESLA "In 2020, a total of 18,750 tonnes of cobalt were consumed in the batteries of newly-sold passenger EVs globally, an increase of 29% year-over-year, a new report by Adamas Intelligence reveals. According to the market analyst, the increase in cobalt use was the result of a surge in passenger BEV and PHEV sales in the second half of the year, particularly in China and Europe." says mining.com: "Volkswagen Group led the pack with nearly 3,000 tonnes of the blue metal deployed in the batteries of new VW, Audi, Porsche, and SEAT electric vehicles, as well as those manufactured with joint venture partners in China. The German carmaker was followed by Tesla with more than 2,000 tonnes of cobalt deployed" Then it was Hyundai Kia in 3rd and Daimler in 4th. https://www.mining.com/top-five-ev-makers-responsible-for-50-of-cobalt-deployed-in-2020/ CARMAKERS AND BATTERY PRODUCERS CLASH "The Korean battery industry is feeling a sense of crisis as automobile manufacturers are planning to produce batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) on their own. As battery companies' influence increases due to a shortage in battery supply, automakers have begun to move to take control of the market, analysts say." reports Business Korea: "Volkswagen announced on March 15 that it will make unified batteries instead of pouch-type batteries and put them into 80 percent of all electric vehicles it will produce by 2030. Tesla also announced in 2020 that it would produce batteries on its own within three to four years. This means that both of the world's top two EV makers are planning to produce batteries on their own. Hyundai Motor is also considering producing batteries on its own. As automakers are starting to move towards internal battery production, they are expected to take back leadership in the EV industry from battery producers gradually. However, some experts say that battery markers still have roles to play " http://www.businesskorea.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=62902 SEAT TO LAUNCH ENTRY-LEVEL £17K ELECTRIC CAR IN 2025 "SEAT is to introduce an urban electric vehicle to market in 2025, priced from around £17,000-£21,000 and intended to make e-mobility accessible. Announced at the company’s Annual Press Conference, the new Arona-sized model will debut either under the SEAT or the Cupra brand and will be rolled out across the group." reports Fleetworld: "SEAT added that the production of urban electric vehicles in Spain from 2025 is a key pillar of its new Future Fast Forward strategy, with an ambition to produce more than 500,000 urban electric cars per year in Martorell from this date, including for the wider Volkswagen Group. The project also envisages creating an electric vehicle ecosystem, stimulating demand and developing public charging infrastructure." https://fleetworld.co.uk/seat-to-launch-entry-level-17k-electric-car-in-2025/ HYUNDAI MOTOR ROLLS OUT 5-MINUTE EV CHARGING STATION STOPS "Hyundai Motor Group on Tuesday has unveiled superfast charging platform brand E-pit for electric vehicles, which will enable an 800-volt EV to drive up to 100 kilometers (62 miles) on just a 5-minute charge." says Pulse News "Hyundai Motor said it designed the E-pit platform inspired by Formula 1 race circuit’s pit stop, where a F1 car stops in the pit stalls during a race for a quick maintenance, mechanical repairs, adjustments, etc. Starting with establishment of 20 locations with 120 superfast units, the group aims to offer charging and other related services easier and faster to customers with the integrated platform. The E-pit station will feature the plug and charge technology that enables more user-convenient and secure way of charging EVs. Sally Cusack on the state of maternity services in the Northern NSW Local Health District. In 2009 national health reforms led to the signing of the National Maternity Services Plan (NMSP), which obliged the implementation of midwifery-led continuity of care for all women by 2015. All state health ministers signed this agreement at the COAG of 2010. In 2010 NSW Health created the Towards Normal Birth, a policy directive in line with the NMSP to be implemented by 2015 for all women using maternity services in LHDs. So far, we have the wonderful services at Mullumbimby, Lismore and until recently Murwillumbah, but other than that, our LHD is unlikely to implement with TNB and the NMSP for all women. And it's a very retrograde step to be removing the service at Murwillumbah. With thanks to Carolyn Hastie and Rachel Bryant. To find out more: go to www.facebook.com/pages/Friends-of-Tweed-Valley-Birthing-Service/andwww.facebook.com/groups/FriendsofNNSWLHDBirthingServicesHow are maternity services in your area?
