Interview with Dr. Hank Sheinkopf, Prominent Democratic pollster and consultant, who was recently featured in a Wall Street Journal article titled, Can Anyone Stop Zohran Mamdani? Dr. Sheinkopf has worked on an estimated 700 political domestic and international political campaigns. June 24, 2025 will go down in history as the day that New York City, the Big Apple, experienced a political earthquake never seen before. A 33 year old Zohran Mamdani, with ZERO government experience, shook the City and beyond to its core, by winning the Democratic primary for New York City. A young man, whose ideology is the furthest to the left that we have ever witnessed. Not only is he a virulent antisemite in a City that has the largest Jewish population outside of Israel, but his platform goes against EVERYTHING New York is about; From promising rent control to opening government run grocery stores, to promising free buses, free childcare, strengthening New York City's status as a “sanctuary city,” and defunding the police. All of these issues and more, will be paid for, according to Mamdani, by raising taxes on billionaires, whom he said, shouldn't exist. He was the founder of the antisemitic group, Students for Justice in Palestine, while attending Bowdoin College, he has refused to denounce “globalize the intifada,” which is a call for violence against the Jews worldwide, supports the BDS movement to delegitimize the State of Israel, and even vowed, though he has no standing, to have Israel's PM arrested when he comes to New York. And lest anyone think that he is the typical leftist who is rebellious against his parents, his father is a professor at Columbia University, who believes that “suicide bombers” are a legitimate weapon of war, and that they are soldiers, not terrorists. Mamdani has also said he would appoint former disgraced, antisemitic Congressman, Jamaal Bowman as his Chancellor of Education. As of this Broadcast, there are 3 candidates challenging Mamdani to be the Mayor. Andrew Cuomo, the former disgraced Governor who was forced to resign over sexual harassment allegations, current Mayor Eric Adams who is running as an Independent, and Republican candidate, Curtis Sliwa. The problem is, if 2 of them don't withdraw their candidacies, Mamdani is all but guaranteed victory this November. In the interview, Dr. Sheinkopf said, "Mamdani is not a Democrat, he is a Socialist who, with his millions, is "trying to hijack a bankrupt Democratic Party that now stands for nothing." According to Sheinkopf, the reason Mamdani was able to win the nomination during the primaries was thanks to a small group of people, who are generally young, who don't like those in power...but believe they are entitled to take over the world. "They are the most pampered generation in history!" "So in Mamdani, they found a candidate who never had a tough job, never worked very hard, born with 2 silver spoons in his mouth, whose parents' house was subsidized by the taxpayers because Columbia U. pays no taxes, and his father is a Professor there. Dr. Sheinkopf went on to say that "Jewish New York is finished...it's only a question of when the lights get turned out." When asked about the influence of Jewish elected officials who are supporting Mamdani, Sheinkopf said, "(Congressman) Nadler should be tossed out immediately....Should have been gone a long time ago!" Sheinkopf lamented the "stupidity" of some Jewish Democrats who think they will be accepted by a Mamdani Administration, because they don't understand that this isn't about Israel, it's about defeating the West, whose values are steeped in everything Judaism stands for. Has the Government's Food Strategy been watered down? It wasn't launched with a huge fanfare, but Defra has published its Food Strategy for England. It aims to create what it calls a Good Food Cycle, a framework to make food production more sustainable, radically overhaul our relationship with food and prepare farmers and food producers for future challenges. The National Farmers' Union has welcomed the document though says it needs to be backed up by “joined-up and pragmatic policy measures”. But there are concerns the strategy's been watered down and that a food white paper expected next year has been dropped. Most rural councils have no targets for building the social housing that many people on the lowest incomes rely on, and the government now says they don't need to set any; that's according to a new study from the University of the West of England. The soft fruit harvest is in full swing and the recent sweltering weather has proved something of a challenge for the thousands of seasonal workers labouring under polytunnels to bring in a crop which has ripened early this year. But is it just harmless fun, or something more? Dr. David W. Jones returns to our financial ethics series to help us examine what Scripture says about gambling and how believers should approach it.Dr. David W. Jones is Senior Professor of Christian Ethics at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He holds a Ph.D. in Christian Financial Ethics and is the author of Every Good Thing: An Introduction to the Material World and the Common Good for Christians.What Does Scripture Say About Gambling?Proverbs 13:11 reminds us that:“Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.”Gambling, which includes sports betting, bypasses God's designed rhythm of work and reward. 1 Timothy 6:9 warns that the desire to get rich quickly leads people into “ruin and destruction.” These verses challenge the notion that a fast win is simply a blessing—it may erode character.Is it always wrong to bet on a game with friends? Not necessarily. A one-time bracket pool during March Madness may not signal a deep moral compromise. But we must ask: Is this behavior occasional and harmless, or has it become habitual and idolatrous?The difference lies in the heart. It's not that gambling created the idolatry of money or sports—it revealed it. And perhaps in God's grace, it's giving us an opportunity to examine what we truly worship.The Stewardship QuestionEvery financial decision we make is a stewardship decision. Psalm 24:1 reminds us:“The earth is the Lord's and everything in it.”So before we spend God's money—even on entertainment—we must ask: Is this wise? Does this reflect my faith? Does it honor the Lord?We must start to think through whether our spending on gambling—even recreationally—glorifies God. That doesn't mean all entertainment is wrong. But we are called to be faithful managers of what belongs to God, and some forms of entertainment carry higher risks than others.Beyond personal stewardship, Christians must consider what they're supporting. The gambling industry is responsible for significant harm. Studies show that 1 in 5 gambling addicts attempt suicide, and addiction is rising fastest among young adults, according to the American Psychological Association.For those in the church, we must acknowledge this cultural shift and lovingly walk alongside people through it, offering them truth, grace, and accountability.Idolatry, Discontentment, and the Way BackSports betting may be legal, but legality is not the same as morality, and morality isn't always wisdom. If your habits reflect discontentment or a misplaced trust in money, that's a red flag.But there's hope. I recently visited the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum for the 2025 Prix de West Invitational Art Exhibition & Sale. They have this event every year in June and it's a wonderful gathering of some of the very finest Western and Native American Artists. It's basically all sculpture and paintings, and you have very traditional art, but you also have very contemporary art as well.I interviewed five different individuals for the podcast while I was there. They were all very gracious to give me their time to talk about their paintings and what they're currently doing. So it's a little less in-depth on the journey, but much more heavy on the process, which I like. It's interesting for me because that's usually not my thing as much as trying to figure out why individuals create art the way they do.So there's, a group of these podcasts and I'm going to have them come out once a week. Recruiting and developing the perfect team is an illusion, a Fool's Gold hot pursuit for leaders.  Even if you do manage to recruit great people, an increasingly difficult task in Japan where the population is in decline and the improvement of English skills is getting nowhere, they leave.  They start a family, get poached for more dough, get sick, need to take care of aging parents or a myriad of other reasonable reasons and you have to start again.  The reality is we are always going to be dealing with people in different stages of their career and ability build.  It is useful to know which solutions are appropriate for particular situations. Japan loves the middle of the fence and sitting there is the most comfortable position.  In fact, in a mistake, defect free work culture like Japan that makes a lot of sense.  Building slack into your world means you never get strained to a point where you might make mistakes.  On the other hand, there is a lot of underperformance associated with being in the Comfort Zone, relative to what is possible.  In big companies, if promotion through the ranks is determined by age and stage, why would you care? Just sit tight, keep your head down, make no errors and you will rise, like cream, to the upper levels, although never to the very top.  That might be good enough for many people. The flipside of this equation is you get bored.   This particularly seems to occur with engineers.  They often need something interesting to work on and if they don't get it, they could be lured to greener, more interesting pastures.  For the rest of us, the Comfort Zone saps our will to do our best work.  What we do is enough, but not all we are capable of and the gentle hum of that equilibrium, where we face no stress, is like a lullaby, putting us into a state of stasis. At the other end of the scale are those working in smaller companies, where they have to do everything, because there are not enough specialists.  Leaders place heavy burdens on them.  They have high expectations of people who are underpowered for high levels of performance.  This could be a gap in aptitude or insufficient experience and training.  The work is overwhelming and they are very stressed.  They run into the conundrum of needing to avoid errors, yet plough through the workload.  They are stuck in the Frozen Zone.  They are erring on the side of caution, because the no mistake culture is causing them to avoid risk and really going for it.  The Breakthrough Zone is where we want people to live.  They are performing at full expectations just within or slightly beyond their capability.  They permanently live in stretch goal land. They are able to challenge new tasks, because they know errors are seen as education and mistakes are tolerated in the messy world of innovation.  What is interesting is that our people could be in all three zones, depending on the tasks at hand.  The movement between zones is also a constant, as work changes, colleagues change and the company direction changes.  In the West, you get hired for a job, the senior leadership makes some decisions about the firm's direction and next thing you find yourself out on the street.  In Japan, you are expected to make the transition.   Someone in the Breakthrough Zone can see their performance decline when given a new, challenging task.  Like any new task, there is a learning curve and the initial track of that curve is down.  After some period of adjustment their performance begins to track back up again and keeps going up. As leaders, do we know where our people are across their various tasks?  Over time, can we identify the tell tale clues to understand where each person is right now relative to their tasks? Have we got too many people underperforming in the Comfort Zone for some tasks?  Have we given so many tasks to others that they are overwhelmed and stuck in the Frozen Zone?  How many would we identify as being in the Breakthrough Zone.  Can we see mistakes as education?  Are we prepared to accept errors during innovation?  Can we anticipate temporary performance decline when new tasks are allocated?  Are we giving people enough training and support? What is the culture we are creating? We need to know these things if we are going to see the best performance from our crew.  Yep, we are busy like bees on speed, but we need to be watching carefully how people are doing, task by task.  Have you ever done that or thought that way?  If I asked you, could you plot your team in a matrix, zone by zone, across their tasks?  Perhaps, it is time to do just that and keep doing it.

When Finnish parliamentarian Päivi Maria Räsänen tweeted a verse from Romans back in 2019, she had no idea that it would ignite a firestorm not only in her home country, but around the world. For today's episode of Fearless, I'm bringing you into the room for this year's BGEA European Congress on Evangelism, where I had the chance to talk with Päivi onstage all about her courageous stand for biblical truth in the face of ongoing cultural and legal pressure to take back her words. During our time together, Päivi walks me through how growing up next to a prison in eastern Finland shaped her early understanding of sin, grace, and redemption—and how those convictions would later sustain her through hours of police interrogation and years of public scrutiny. Despite enduring multiple trials—including one currently awaiting a verdict in Finland's Supreme Court—Päivi has refused to recant. She talks about the surreal experience of being questioned by police and prosecutors about Scripture, the pressure to deny her faith, and the global impact of her story. Through it all, Päivi has stood firm, refusing to apologize for God's Word. Päivi's testimony is a call to courage for believers everywhere: to speak truth in love, to resist self-censorship, and to trust that God's purposes are greater than any opposition. I pray this episode would be a wakeup call for believers everywhere, that our freedom to speak biblical truth is under attack, even in the West. Now is the time to hold to our Christ-given convictions and refuse to back down.

Talk turns to how they might get him to Daenerys. All routes seem problematic. Eventually Aegon himself offers an alternative. He is the only dragon they need. Why not go to Westeros and stake his claim there? Daenerys can have Meereen. The captains rally to this call and Connington is impressed by his young charge. Aegon is taken to meet the men, with the Young Griff persona back in place. Meanwhile Connington examines his fingers that are clearly showing the signs of greyscale. He hopes that he can live long enough to see his Prince back on the throne and for his bones to be laid to rest in Griffin's Roost.Young Griff/Aegon Targaryen - Teenage nephew of Daenerys. As believers, protecting the resources God has entrusted to us is more than a practical concern—it's an act of stewardship. Here's how you can guard your finances with wisdom, not fear.Scams Are Everywhere—But So Is WisdomFraudsters use every channel available: phone calls, text messages, emails, and even impersonations of people you trust. But as followers of Christ, we're not called to panic. We're called to walk in wisdom (Ephesians 5:15). That begins with slowing down and thinking critically.Pause before you respond. Scammers rely on urgency. If someone pressures you to act immediately—whether claiming your account is locked or your money is at risk—take a step back. Hang up. Verify the source independently. Urgency is often a red flag. Avoid untraceable payments. No legitimate organization will ask for payment via wire transfer or gift cards. These are the preferred tools of scammers because they're nearly impossible to recover.Practical Steps for Digital ProtectionFinancial stewardship now includes digital awareness. Here are practical ways to protect yourself and your family:Use credit cards, not debit cards, for online purchases. Credit cards usually come with stronger fraud protection. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on all your financial accounts. Even if a scammer gets your password, they can't access your account without a second form of verification. Don't reuse passwords. Use a secure password manager, such as Bitwarden or NordPass, to create and store strong, unique passwords. Set up account alerts. Most banks allow you to monitor activity in real-time, giving you a heads-up if something unusual occurs. Freeze your credit. It's free to do and offers one of the best defenses against identity theft. You can always unfreeze it temporarily when needed. Avoid public Wi-Fi for financial transactions. Wait until you're on a secure network or at home to check your bank accounts or make purchases. Limit what you share on social media. Personal details, such as birthdays or family names, can be used to guess passwords or security questions. Adjust your privacy settings and post wisely. Shred sensitive documents before discarding them. Even in the digital age, identity thieves still dig through trash. Don't click on unfamiliar links, even if they appear to come from someone you know.
